Ive been a patient of Dr. Velez for a few years now and Ive always felt cared-for, heard, and supported. She spends time listening to all my concerns, and I love that she combines Western medicinal practices along with functional/alternative solutions to propose the right treatment at the right time. I first came to her several years ago after being brushed aside from a previous general practitioner (affiliated with a large network here in town) about a health scare, and the care, attention, and reassuring manner she gave me in that first visit was such a stark contrast from my previous provider that I knew I was in the right place. Recently, I had a myriad of other issues to bring up, and she spent over an hour talking through everything and proposing the additional testing and next steps for these issues. With the new direct care model, shes accessible and responsive, and the quality of care I receive from her is amazing. Thank you, Dr. Velez!

Dr Velez is an amazing doctor. She actually listens to your issues and works with you to create a treatment plan. She is easily one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She knows her stuff inside and out. In a short time, I completely trust her medical opinion about my health. The subscription model is awesome because whenever we need anything she is there. Even if it is something little, I just message her and she gets back to me. I don’t have to save up issues and questions for a single doctor visit. She is a medical resource to have in your every day life. If things need adjusted, you just let her know and she makes the needed changes to the plan. This is way better than the old way doctors work. I can’t recommend Dr Velez enough.

I have been a patient of Dr. Velezs for a number of years now and Im so happy that I found her! With her new Direct Primary Care model (and the pesky insurance out of the way), Im getting the absolute best care that I could ask for. I have direct access to Dr. Velez (she even responds after hours and on her days off if needed), and it is SO MUCH EASIER to get directly to the health care solution I need instead of jumping through all of the insurance hoops.Her relationships with specialists also help with greatly reduced out-of-pocket costs. For example, I recently needed an MRI and it only cost 1/5 of what it cost me WITH insurance a couple of years ago!Dr. Velez also focuses on whole health, meaning she always, ALWAYS, discusses nutrition, exercise etc. when coming up with a plan. Even before she made the switch to DPC, she wasnt quick to mask issues with pharmaceuticals, which is hard to find. The few times I have needed a medication, she helps find the lowest price possible, if she cant provide it in-office.Dr. Velez is a wonderful doctor and I highly recommend her to all of my friends and family.

Dr. Velez is the best physician I have ever had. I came to her with extremely complicated symptoms that made no sense, but Dr. Velez made the connections and helped me get diagnoses and treatment. She is well connected and respected in the medical community. I truly feel there is nothing she cannot handle. Dr. Velez cares about her patients and treats them like family. I am fully insured but still chose to keep Dr. Velez as my PCP with her Direct Primary Care Model. During emergencies I can contact her directly via text or phone. She makes me feel like I am her only patient and gives me the time I need during appointments. She never rushes me. With Velez Family Health you will receive concierge treatment at a low monthly cost.

Dr. Velez is the best doctor we’ve ever had. She is patient, thorough, always available, knowledgeable, and kind. She even goes out of her way to check on you after hospital visits. I started seeing Dr Velez at the beginning of this year and though are time has been short, it has been such a great experience with her as my doctor! I love how she really gave me the time to explain to her my concerns and we had great discussions on our course of action . She is so efficient in getting lab work sent directly to the facility which helps me so much because I use to always loose the work order ! Her staff , Lydia and Cassandra are absolutely exceptional ! They are also so quick to assist me whether it’s getting a message to the doctor or showing me how to setup for the virtual appointments ! Haven’t met a front desk so friendly and so easy to get in contact with !

The new direct care model has been fantastic for my wife and I. I have multiple co-morbidities and Dr. Velez has been very responsive to my questions via email. She was able to keep me out of the hospital when I had bilateral pneumonia followed by COVID. This included Dr. Velez consulting with a pulmonologist to get me the treatment I needed when I needed it. It has been worth every penny and then some!

I was in search for a different family doctor, since my last one was not that great. I seen all the positive reviews for Velez Family Health and I decided to give the practice a try. This was the first office where the front desk was truly outstanding. Very friendly and kind. It made me more comfortable. When meeting the doctor, I was very impressed. Dr. Velez really lets you talk about your problems and concerns and she really gets in depth about your health. I was so happy to wait for this doctor. She didnt just offer a medication and said see you next time. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone. You will not be disappointed. It was a nice experience and I cannot wait to go back. What a phenomenal place to handle your health. EVERYONE and I do EVERYONE there treats you like you matter. From the minute you walk in the door you feel welcomed and you get the sense that everything will be okay. I am so thankful to have found this practice. I cannot see myself going anywhere else. My mom is a patient of Dr. Velezs and I have sat in on a number of her visits. Without a doubt, Dr. Velez is one of the best doctors I have ever come into contact with. Dr. Velez reserves large blocks of time for each patient so there is never, ever a rushed feeling that you normally get when you typically see a doctor. Dr. Velez is also the first doctor that I have ever known who admitted when they didnt have knowledge about a particular drug and researched it before proceeding with any action. Most doctors I have come into contact with have never shown such humility/strength...most of the time you get an arrogance of omnipotence which can be dangerous. Dr. Velez is what the standard of the medical profession should be. I wholeheartedly recommend her if you are in need of a GP. THIS IS HOW PATIENT CARE SHOULD BE!

Dr. Velez uses a scribe (real person) to annotate details while shes with a patient. Felt a bit awkward at first since I was not expecting another person inside the room, but that quickly subsided after a few minutes. Also, after reminiscing for a moment, I came to the conclusion that having someone else in the room, apart from Dr. Velez and a patient, might prove to be safer and better in the long run.Hope this helps!

It is extremely difficult to find a doctor who has done the specialized fellowship that Dr. Velez has. Before finding her I would have had to fly to Rochester, NY to be treated in person with follow-up visits over Skype. Dr. Velezs expertise have helped me turn over a new leaf of health and hope. I recommend her to all of my friends and genuinely respect her and her staff for all of the help they have given me in my wellness journey. I saw some of the other reviews about the practice, and all I will say is if you want to go to the female version of Dr. House and figure out a way to get better then look no further than your own town- here she is. Dr. Velez is great and her staff is pleasant. She listens great, doesn’t rush you through all your concerns. She has been very thorough from the first day and hasn’t changed after a year of seeing her. She is honest and has a great aura to her. She’s what I’ve been looking for in a Dr. for years. I live far from her and wouldn’t change her as my primary Dr. It’s worth the wait to see her. 🙂

Dr Velez and her staff are fabulous!!! This is the first doctor we’ve had that will take the time to listen to your concerns and have a genuine conversation. She doesn’t dismiss any concern or question and makes sure you understand what is going on and what is her opinion in how to best treat the cause of the illness and not just mask symptoms. She encourages use of natural supplements and correct diet and lifestyle changes but will prescribe medication when necessary. We love Dr. Velez and her staff who are always friendly and helpful.

This review is going based on the office staff(s) handling the New Appointments. I called twice about two weeks ago and waited the appropriate time for the call back. But it never happened.Reading from a previous review, if this office does not accept new patients then the person listening to the voicemails shoud have informed me then.

I booked my appt 4-5 months ago and I was so excited because of all the stellar reviews. I was told that the NP was experienced in hormones. The person that I saw had only been there 2 weeks and couldnt help me. So disappointing. It was also a long drive for me. Normally I dont mind, but there was nothing stellar about this visit.

Dr. Velez was very attentive, took the time to listen and to discuss your heakthcare needs. I am relieved to find a physician that is also knowledgeable about and supports alternative health options. Her office staff is also very kind and professional. So glad I found her!

Very disappointed with office staff. I have been provided with misleading appointment information which I was not aware of. After waited 3 months, I was told they dont accept new patient anymore and the person answered the phone hang up on me very rudely.

I just had the opportunity to speak with Olivia in new patient scheduling. She was kind but gave me news that any new patients looking to be seen by Doctor Velez will have to wait a minimum of 6 months till September for your first appointment which is pretty discouraging but I guess speaks to how busy Doctor Velez is in her medical practice. I will update my review once I have had the opportunity to be seen by a doctor.
