Never picked up their phone any time during the day. finally got a call back, the lady is extremely rude and inconsiderate. they said they would deliver my drug the same day and it is urgent drug that i need to start immediately, and later told me that i have to pick it up. i live far and it is just tooo annoying. horrible service!

These mfrs charged $10 for a mask during a pandemic instead of showing compassion or atleast charge right amount. Serious price gouging for hand sanitizer and disinfectants. Please avoid doing business with this pharmacy if possible. Teach these people a lesson.

Its a good place. I bought my medicine there. I used to call them before 30 minutes and by the time I would go there my medicine would be ready which was working perfectly with me. all the staff are nice and polite. I recommend them.

Shopping while Black: Ignorant front store cashier (“Caroline”) insinuated I couldn’t afford a box of $25 PPE masks, hesitant to hand box over to me (PPE needed for my line of work) and she easily displayed agitation by FSA/OTC payment method. Furthermore, same cashier (“Caroline”) and a back stock person profiled me/conducted bag search for theft after I placed purchased items in reusable bag and showed receipt -- triggered by a glitch in their alarm system. Don’t patronize here.

The pharmacists and employees at Metro are extraordinary. They go above and beyond to work with your insurance to get your prescriptions approved, with patience and immense kindness. When I was reduced to tears by an endless back and forth with Aetna, the young man behind the checkout counter offered me tissues and tea. I’m so grateful to them.

Regular customer of this pharmacy. Usually high prices but I don’t mind as they always have what I want. However, today I walked in and saw they had signs everywhere for N95 masks for sale and were selling each mask for $25 each. A big sign that said box of 20 for $500!!! Shame on them for 1) hoarding masks when there is already a shortage for emergency response and health care workers and 2) price gouging to the fullest extent! Also they were selling boxes on anti-bacterial wipes for $20 a box!! SHAME ON YOU. Even Amazon and EBay had common decency and took down listings from 3rd party sellers trying to price gouge and you have the audacity to do that to your local neighbors at a time like this?!?!SHAME ON YOU METRO PHARMACY!!! For a trying to make a profit on such a terrible situation, you have just forever lost me as a costumer. I suggest everyone reading this to do the same and no longer support this “mom and pop local pharmacy.”

I see the owner (Joe) has no problem responding to five star reviews. He doesn’t appear to want to publicly address his shady ethics and poor morals at this time of national crisis. I don’t expect you to respond Joe, just wanted to let you know you’re famous now for all the wrong reasons.

The owner of this pharmacy, Joe, is an absolutely exceptional human being who goes way above and beyond that call of duty and sets a standard to which other pharmacies and business can only hope to aspire. Having forgotten to refill a medication the week prior, I found myself short on a Sunday night when most pharmacies in NYC was already closed. Joe was kindly willing to drive in all the way from Long Island to get me out a my jam, and I could not have been more grateful & relieved. What a beautiful soul! Never have I had a business owner treat me with such care and consideration. This pharmacy is absolutely top notch and Joe is a rare gem. As a physician myself, I recommend it most highly!

So happy with the new assistant donor coordinator what an upgrade from the last one they had. Amber was negative and almost made me not go with this pharmacy. You guys did a good job with the new one!! Congrats customer for life!

Honestly not quite understanding some of the negative reviews??? I have visited this pharmacy numerous times and it is so clean and organized . The gift section has some really unique and useful items. The staff is cheerful and knowledgeable , I had a great gentleman help me with the make up section and he was so patient and willing to help me find what I needed.I also have had friends use this facility for their specialized treatment and have nothing but praise and gratitude for these guys.I dont know ,,,, personally I LOVE THESE GUYS !!!

You would think in a medical city epidemic, your local pharmacy would have better community relations. Whoever takes advantage of elderly & frantic people over a couple of dollars for necessities should be met outside after work and have their face fixed. Upper east side or not, that price gouging is horrible. I doubt in high income areas like the Hamptons, greenwich Ct, The Berkshires or alpine NJ would never practice disgusting sales like this. I and my wife love Metro Drugs. Weve been using them for years, and only have good things and thank yous to say. They have gone out their way to accommodate our sensitive situation more than once in times of need - and always with a smile.

Stopped in here for the first time yesterday since they were advertising that they had antibacterial gel and masks.I picked up some gel and went to the register to be rung up, and the cashier couldn’t have been less interested-she was too busy chatting away with the other cashier.I went to pay with Apple Pay, and after trying three times she tells me it doesn’t work (maybe if she had been paying attention she could have told me from the start).She asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes, she charged the extra 5 cents, and finished ringing me up, then went back to chatting away for several minutes with my items sitting on the counter before I finally had to ask her for my bag. No apology for making me wait.Plus, they were charging $10 PER mask! Serious price gouging. Overall not a good experience, and I won’t bother going back.

Metro Drugs! We can’t rave more about this specialty pharmacy. We have been coming here for over two years now and we can’t rave about the team here. We never had a single bad experience ever. Everyone here is friendly, professional and helpful. One evening last week, my wife forgot to pick up a very important prescription and it was well past 10:30pm. Like most pharmacies, they were closed. We phoned their 24 hour emergency hotline and left a message. Within 3 minutes, a representative returned our call and I explained everything to him. The representative understood the urgency and arrange for a pharmacist to meet us at the location within 30 minutes! Metro Drugs is a specialty pharmacy which mean it focuses on high cost, high touch medication therapy for patients with complex cases and conditions. Unlike many of the chain pharmacies, Metro Drugs actually cares. When they realized that that some of our medications were not covered by insurance and the staff even took time to research and locate lower cost brand alternatives for us. In the future, even if we only need aspirin, we would only come here. It is extremely reassuring knowing there’s still a pharmacy with small town values in such an enormous city.

PRICE GAUGERS!!! Last week purchased two masks for 25.00 each, today they are 5.00, also small bottles of hand sanitizer they were asking 50.00, SHAME ON YOU!!! If this is the way you are conducting business you just lost a local loyal customer!!!! Can’t believe to earn a few more dollars you would Go to these extremes!!! Price Gouging during a time when people are fearing for their life, unemployed, broke and are scared. You have the horrible heartless idea to profit on the fear. This shows how much you truly care about you patients/Customers. This should be a criminal offense and the Pharmacist who owns this store should lose his or her license and the store fined into oblivion.

Love this place and the founder and CEO is one of the nicest people I’ve met - going out of his way (literally and after his shop closed) to make sure I get what I need. Highly recommend it!

I am reading all these fantastic reviews and wish i could give a good review. I am an out of state customer therefore I have to call in to get refills and every time I call in I am on hold for 45 minutes - 2 hours just for someone to answer. i cant tell you how many times Ive been on hold and someone finally answers and says Hello once then hangs up... not allowing me time to pick my phone up and respond.... I then have to call back and wait on hold for another 45 minutes to 2 hours....I will say that they have gone out of their way to drop off my medication at FedEx after hours one time and I really appreciated that but the hold time to get ahold of anyone is outrageous and seems to be a regular thing.

Can we ever get to actually speak with them? Been on hold for 30min!!

Love coming here! While I have never used the pharmacy, they have EVERYTHING “all natural” and items you just cannot find anywhere else without having to go to multiple stores. KEEP UP the great work Metro!!! #MetroRocks

$10 for a small hand sanitizer and $25 each mask? Are you kidding me? During a crisis this is what you do to your customers. I said something and they said “well we are paying more too”. Unreal. Also, the front staff are always fighting when I’m in here, this was prior to COVID too. Very sad. I sure hope you’re giving those boxes of masks you are hoarding to the health care professionals that’s really need them. If any of you are in need of care, maybe you’d think twice!

Pretty Comfortable atmosphere. I went in there one day just to see if they had any ginko bilobo once, and I found quite a few things that peaked my interest. Especially this nice slightly alcoholic cranberry juice drink that went perfect with the chicken I had bought from a food cart earlier. Everyone was also pretty nice and relaxed.

My doctor gave me a prescription so difficult to find. I called one of those big online pharmacies, and even though had it in stock they would not sell it to me because they wanted me to spend a bigger amount of money. Then I found Metro Drugs. They had my prescription in stock. I just stopped by the next day to pick it up. Service was friendly and one of the Managers, Mario, was so helpful, a quite different experience from other pharmacies.

Good experience when you in-person! However, on phone everyone just wants to transfer you to different department without helping you out. Once they transfer you, you will only get voice mail box. They really need to improve the system. And wait times are over 10 minutes more often than not!

Needed some medicine and no pharmacies were closed. I called the hotline and the nicest person came and opened the store for us. At 10pm! Thank you!

Went to buy a face mask and they were charging TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! Just read in the newspaper they were fined $35,000 for overcharging critical items.. I will NEVER buy anything from this store and URGE all to go to Walgreens down the block... I personally hope they go out of business .. BOYCOTT this store!!!

Bit pricey but you know whats not pricey- the hot tea, its free! Always nice array, to warm up your gloomy day. Staff members: One staff member=v v kool. Another time I walked in, there was a staff member that was downright obnoxious, rude, and with attitude. Watch out for him.

People are nice but way too expensive. They did not give me suggestions on generics or coupons the way walgreens does. I left the medication home while out of town and had to get some emergently. The generic I got from walgreens was 1/2 the price! So mad! Maybe this is something that can be worked on.

I hear you guys like to price gouge during a national emergency/crisis. Charging $50 a pop for a 2.5oz bottle of hand sanitizer. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. I hope the defamation of your establishment and owner was worth the extra pocket change you scumbags.

Avoid this place like the plague. The people are extremely incompetent, will make you wait for hours and will end up making mistakes on the prescription after that wait. We ended up with 30 syringes and no needles when our prescription said 10 syringes and needles. When the need for the prescription arose, we couldnt use the prescription because there was no way to administer it. If you value your life, avoid this place. And for the management, they should seriously review their hiring practices for a place as critical as a pharmacy.

Please do not patronize metro drugs , their price gouging for sanitizer and other products essential during this crisis is pure greed and has no place in our city . There are plenty of pharmacies to share your business , who are honest .Close then down once and for all , this is the only way businesses will learn not to take advantage of people when they are in need .

Every time Im in NY its my go to place for remedies and prescriptions . I. So picky about where I shop especially when it comes to this stuff ! Friendly and knowledgable staff . And they can always reccomend something if Im not sure what I need for a particular issue .

I have use metro drugs for over ten years and they are always helpful, efficient, and friendly. I would highly recumbent them.

Really nice looking pharmacy. But the ladies working here are unresponsive and dont care. Their system recently down and cant fill prescriptions. Rather then letting their customers know how long itll be or telling them to fill their prescription else where, they just stand there and let their customers stand there and wait needlessly. When asked questions, the answer is I dont know. Waste of time and poor service.

Janelle helped me so much during the entire time I needed a specialist pharmacy, she called me back several times, checking on and following up with everything. I absolutely recommend this pharmacy for ivf meds, really they were more helpful than my actual clinic.

This center has terrible customer service. I originally called for a perscription and the whole time I kept being put on hold and transferred to different ladies. I had to explain myself over and over again why I was calling. I was also given one price and charged another. I had such a hard time getting back on the phone with them, wondering if they had even charged me the correct thing, considering I paid for these medications to be overnighted. I asked if I was able to get my reciept through email, at first I was told yes and they never did. When I finally was able to speak to the lady who took my order about me possibly being overcharged, she said “the reciept will be in box you recieve tomarrow, is that not enough” with the most unpleasant attitude. They would sigh on the phone and would put me on hold while I was talking. They don’t even say “thank you” or something before ending the calls, they just hang up. On top of that, I recieved my medication with no syringes or needles! I called the next day and specifially told them what needles I needed. I overnighted that and the next day I recieve the wrong needles!!! It’s ridiculous!! I have worked in a Pharmacy before and this is no way to treat customers. After viewing these reviews, I can see this is an everyday thing. I don’t recommend this Pharmacy.

If there were no stars I’d give them that.. this place has the WORST customer service in the pharmacy. They all act like they hate their job. You can never contact them through heirphone line because the phone lines don’t work or they just don’t pick up. Don’t waste your time

This please is horrible, doctor sent the prescription like an hour early I got to the pick up area, and they treat me like they dont know anything , second time I called automated system for a pick up, got there and the girl start all over again with all these questions and I had to wait for the medicine again.
