Dr. Ostuni took the entire consultation to talk to me about my wisdom teeth and what the plan for extraction. They provided me a billing summary at the time of consultation so that I knew what to expect and what would be covered. They also had a ton of availability for scheduling the surgery so I got my preferred day based on my work schedule. Overall would highly recommend his office.

I put off getting my wisdom teeth extracted for 20+ years - thats how much I really didnt want to do this surgery. All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted in the bone in some way, and I have a small mouth. So getting those teeth cut out of my jaw didnt really appeal to me at all. I finally had a month off from work (lost my only excuse - no time, cant be away from work) and figured I should probably get them taken care of before something really goes wrong.The entire experience at Carnegie was outstanding. The front office staff was pleasant and very on top of it, providing cost estimates and confirming insurance coverage. They went above and beyond when I had an issue with the insurance pre-authorization and clearly had my best interests in mind.Perhaps more importantly, Dr. Ostuni is an amazing oral surgeon. Im someone who is highly analytical and a bit of a control freak; Ive had some pretty unpleasant experiences with poor quality dental professionals, so for something as invasive as oral surgery I was especially apprehensive.Dr. Ostuni put me completely at ease and helped me arrive at a decision for the surgery in which I felt 100% confident. Hes a straight shooter, very analytical, and provides solid recommendations that are backed up with reasoning that he very clearly shared with me. He didnt mince words and didnt sugar coat things, which I really appreciated.At my initial consultation and again on the day of surgery, Dr. Ostuni laid out all of my x-rays and walked me through his entire thought process, so I felt very comfortable that he had thought through all of the potential options, as well as the pros and cons of each, before arriving at a well-reasoned conclusion. He also very clearly laid out all of the potential risks, benefits, and potential outcomes, so I knew exactly what to expect (and what not to expect). We ultimately settled on a plan to extract the top left and do a coronectomy on the bottom left wisdom tooth, while leaving the right side alone.Then came the execution of the actual surgery. I got general anesthesia as recommended by Dr. Ostuni, and I was literally in and out in 45 minutes. I woke up with two fewer wisdom teeth and no pain whatsoever. It was clear that Dr. Ostuni knew exactly what he was doing, given how quickly and smoothly the process went. He even ended up extracting the tooth that we originally earmarked for coronectomy, which is an unexpectedly better outcome than we had planned going in.Post-op, Dr. Ostuni was always only a phone call or text away, and answered all of my questions and concerns with a prompt, to-the-point response. His confidence and clarity of response put me at ease, and he did not steer me wrong. I had absolutely zero complications and a pretty easy recovery from what I thought would be a seemingly traumatic extraction surgery.It almost doesnt feel like enough to say that I recommend Carnegie and Dr. Ostuni wholeheartedly. I cannot recommend Dr. Ostuni and his team highly enough - they are super nice and professional and provide a clear idea of what to expect with any procedure. They are available for questions and even texts for follow ups. Getting a tooth extracted is not ideal of course, but they make the process as good as possible. Nice offices too. Super clean and Covid safe.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Ostunis office. After consulting with Dr. Ostuni over concerns about nerve sensitivity relating to wisdom teeth removal, he was able to share with me alternative procedures that essentially removed all concerns about nerve damage. The office is very Covid-conscious with the vast majority of check-in is done online.Most importantly following my procedure, I had no pain at all and I was shocked at how quickly and how well I healed.Would absolutely recommend Dr. Ostuni to anyone.

My 6-year old son needed an extra tooth removed, and Dr. Ostuni came highly recommended by a pediatric dentist. The entire staff - from the initial consultation to post surgery - were extremely professional, thorough, and caring. Leslie, in the front office, helped explain the insurance coverage and clearly outlined what was covered vs. the out of pocket costs. Dr. Ostuni made an extra effort to make a connection with my son, to help him feel relaxed and to understand what was happening throughout the procedure. He also took the time to follow up the next day to check in and make sure all was okay.Its hard finding a caring doctor in New York City sometimes, but Dr. Ostuni is the gem you need when going through what can be a nerve wracking oral surgery procedure!

This review is WELL overdue. I went to work in December, with horrible pain coming from my tooth. I was relieved Dr. Ostuni was kind enough to see me the same day, and remove my infected wisdom tooth with ease. The recovery time was minimal. The whole process was painless. Wonderful Experience with Dr. Angelo Ostuni. I had to get an extraction, along with a bridge that was connected to the tooth. I chose to finally get it done, however was very nervous for not being put to sleep. I said to my self this is probably going to hurt like hell. Surprising to me this was no comparison to what I was thinking. Whoever reads this review stop and choose Dr.Ostuni as your oral surgeon. He is the best and I had NO PAIN whats so ever. They didnt rush and made sure I personally understood what my condition was, how they help me, how much it would cost.3. They literally walked me through everything having to do with payment and cost. They talked with my insurance company and made a spreadsheet outlining my policy and costs. I knew what I would be expected to pay and why.4. The staff is so friendly. I HATE going to the dentist and they relieved my anxiety. No judgements, just trying to fix the problem with the best solution.5. They follow up with you. You can text Dr. Ostuni with any questions even late at night.6. I had a tooth removed with extra stitches needed to free up the gums surrounding the tooth. We expected major bruising and swollen-ness. I didnt have ANY bruising. The swelling was minimal and there was barely any pain in the next few days (managed completely by Tylenol and ice compress). I am in awe.7. Follow up procedures are necessary, and they have communicated with me about what they can do, what an endo will have to do, and about researching opportunities for cost effective solutions for both. They are not here to bleed you for money. They want whats best for you.

I had a great experience with Dr. Ostuni and his staff at Carnegie Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Ostuni removed three of my wisdom teeth including a cyst around one of them. As painful as this sounds, I am now a week post-op and the recovery has gone exceptionally well!Dr. Ostuni and his staff went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible (they probably noticed how anxious and nervous I was when I walked in!). Dr. Ostuni was honest and thorough as he explained the risks of the procedure, and was very straightforward about what to expect in the days following the surgery. Denise, the practice manager, was so kind to walk me outside to the car that was picking me up since I was a little dizzy after waking up from the anesthesia. Dr. Ostuni was also extremely proactive and called me a few hours after my procedure just to see how I was feeling! He is a brilliant surgeon who really cares about his patients, and I would highly recommend him and Carnegie Oral Maxillofacial Surgery to everyone for their surgical care!

Consultation went really well. I thought Dr Ostuni was a very thorough surgeon and decided to trust him with my complicated wisdom teeth. But when I saw the $3,000 estimated cost (even though he is in my insurance network!), I decided to go another route and requested to get a copy of my Cat Scan (which cost me $300). I was asked to come back to pick it up at 5PM the next day, which I did, thinking it would just be ready for me to pick-up and go home in time for my babysitter to leave. They had me wait for more than an hour and a half, for the dentist to see ALL his patients before taking 5 minutes to create the copy for me. Treated me like a pariah just because I cant afford a $3,000 out of pocket cost, and acted as if I was requesting the moon when all I wanted was a copy of my $300-worth CAT scan. Really disappointing. I wish good service was just good service, no matter what patients decide to do next.

I brought my 10 year old daughter to Dr. Ostuni to two extractions and the treatment went amazing. Dr. Ostuni walked her through the entire process before any treatment was rendered to give her an idea of what to expect. He then proceeded to numb her up and this was the first time she has ever had any sort of dental anesthesia - she felt a pinch as he explained she would but that was it. She said I felt it a little but barely anything and proceeded to giggle because she couldnt believe she was touching her top lip and couldnt feel it. He then walked her through what she would feel, he kept explaining that pressure and some movement is normal, but sharp, pinching pain will not happen and he proved it by touching an area that wasnt numb... Now she was a believer and was fully confident that she wouldnt feel anything - about 10 seconds later one tooth was out, more giggles......another 10 seconds later, the second tooth was out of her mouth, wiped off and bagged so she could bring it home for the tooth fairy! What more can you ask for when you have a child needing two teeth extracted?Two thumbs up, a big hug, funny looking smile and many thanks to Dr. Ostuni and his team.

Had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out here. The procedure went very well and the doctor was really good about messaging me to check in on how the healing process was going. The check up afterwards was quick and easy, doctor is very professional, and the reception is very sweet and usually put me in a good mood while there. I do recommend this place and will go back if I need any other procedures done.

Dr Ostuni and entire team are truly great. I had all four wisdom teeth removed under local anesthetic, and although I was very nervous, they took such great care of me. From beginning to end, the entire process was very professional, and the level of care was outstanding. Dr Ostuni was very calm and patient with me, and the lovely nurse also kept me really calm, and looked after me when I felt dizzy. Can’t say enough positive things about the team, not to mention the actual extraction was virtually painless - I didn’t feel anything through the procedure, and only had mild discomfort after. My gums healed very quickly and I was back to work the following Monday (I had my teeth removed on Friday). Hopefully I don’t need any more teeth removed, but I wouldn’t think twice about returning.

Did you ever think youd hear that getting your wisdom teeth removed would be a wonderful experience? Well it was. I found Dr. Ostuni through Yelp, actually. His rating compared to other NYC oral surgeons was quite high.I made my appointment over the phone with Leslie who was warm and attentive. Equally as pleasant in the office. Leslie and Dr. Ostuni went over my options based on my financial situation and, unlike reviews Ive read of other oral surgeons, explained what everything would cost and left nothing out. No surprise bills. His assistant did a panoramic x-ray and filled me in on how things would work before Dr. Ostuni came in. Everyone there is so nice and enthusiastic. He actually read my entire intake form to make sure no allergies or conditions would be triggered by the procedure.I had all four teeth removed at once, while awake, and it was... great! I barely felt the injections into my gums (and I hate needles). At that point, I felt nothing. NO pain the whole way through. I expected something awful, but it went great. And after it was over, they explained everything Id have to do post-procedure and gave me supplies and a prescription for antibiotics and Ibuprofen (only because there was no pain, they have stronger stuff).I had a follow up appointment a week later, but I was concerned I had popped stitches because of how much blood there was. Dr. Ostuni saw me early and STILL saw me at my follow-up saying, Id rather see you one extra time than one fewer. He never seemed in a hurry to get me out the door and addressed my concerns.If ever (but hopefully not) I need another procedure done, I am ABSOLUTELY coming back here. Painless, the whole way through.

Dr. Ostuni and his staff completely exceeded my expectations. I went into the office in extreme pain due to my top two wisdom teeth coming in and as soon as you walk into the office you feel at peace. All the equipment is immaculate and brand new. His staff is warm, friendly and extremely thorough, you will not leave the office feeling confused about medication or next steps. Dr. Ostuni is AMAZING. He worked around my crazy work schedule and removed my top two wisdom teeth without any complications. He is a soft-spoken gentle dentist that you could ever asked for. He is a five star dentist/oral surgeon and I would definitely recommend him to my friends! P.S. Leslie, the receptionist is extremely on top of everything! she was very helpful. She takes care of all the X-ray transfer work, if you are coming from your dentist’ referral, and insurance matters before the appt so I can just come in and get treated right away. Nurses/PAs here are also 5 star all around as well.

Dr. Ostuni is amazing! He extracted four of my young daughters teeth and it was the best experience ever! Leslie went above and beyond and even helped us downstairs to get cab.

Overall was fine. I did my bone graft here and later on was told by another implant surgeon that the bone graft was not sufficient. As a result, I had to bare thousands of dollar worth of financial loss due to reconstruction of the bone graft.When the doctor was informed by the other doctor about the situation, he called me and expressed his disappointment on why I did not have the procedure done with his clinic. I thought he called to fix what he incorrectly did.

The staff was very friendly and the office was clean. They did all they could to make sure I felt comfortable. Dr. Ostuni made sure I was well informed on all of my options and did a great job with my procedure and continued to follow up afterwards to make sure I was doing well.

Cant understand these reviews. Not only did Dr. Ostuni show up an hour late, he charged me $300 for a scan without warning me it wasnt covered by insurance, AND never called me back or took the next steps to what we agreed upon during the visit. He is very unorganized and honestly lazy.

This guy could rip every tooth out of your head and youd still want to go have a beer with him.
