I live in NYC and dont have a car, and my mother was in New Jersey. The caregiver would sometimes drop by on weekends when she was off duty, and at the end of my mothers life when she was cycling between the hospital and subacute rehab, the caregiver visited her in both places and would fill me in on what was happening, again on her own time.LeanOnWe was especially helpful when the regular caregiver was on vacation and my mother didnt get along with the substitute, helping me find and schedule someone else when I was on the west coast and couldnt deal with things hands on. For several years I used an agency for my mothers live-in attendants, but the care was expensive and sometimes inconsistent, so I decided to try hiring privately. Lean on We came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The staff clearly gave a lot of thought to who would be a good match for my mothers particular needs, and the caregivers they referred to me were all experienced and professional. The emergency backup service was a lifesaver the one time I needed to use it. I would use Lean on We again in a minute.

Unlike many of these reviews, I’ve used LeanOnWe primarily for backup for our regular caregiver. Whenever she is on vacation or for some other reason can’t make it, we’ve turned to LeanOnWe. We’ve used them for both live-in and live-out and they’ve been able to step in and fill the void. The service is very good and very easy to work with. Most importantly, they’ve always come through. It’s one less thing for me to worry about in caring for my mom.

LeanOnWe was a wonderful agency to work with from the beginning, one year ago. My 96 year old blind aunt had taken a bad fall, was in the hospital and rehab for one month, and was ready to go home. She could no longer live alone. When I contacted the agency from a recommendation, it was easy to identify myself as a family member looking for aides. Denise Kuhbier reached out to me to find out what I was looking for and promptly sent me four or five videos and reviews of aides that could meet my criteria. I interviewed the women and selected two who began work. The aides were very good and had a lot of experience. They helped my aunt with everything - bathing, dressing, walking, toileting, and they prepared all her meals and cooked as well as doing her laundry and some light housekeeping. Denise also set me up with a payroll company to deduct taxes and electronically transfer funds to the aides accounts. LeanOnWe was always available to answer questions, provide coverage for an aide who needed a day off, or discuss any issue. If Denise was not available, there was another extension where I could always reach someone. Caregiving can be stressful and isolating and it was very helpful to to have so much support and not feel alone. The staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring. I also liked that this agency supplies the aides but the aides negotiate their own salaries and LeanOnWe does not take a percentage of the aides wages like many agencies do. I highly recommend this agency to anyone who has a family member or friend in need of a certified home health aide.

Last year when my mom was critically ill and very frightened I called Lean on We knowing their owners for many years. They acted immediately and had someone who was kind and compassionate there very quickly. I cannot say enough good things about them and the caregivers they work with.

We needed a caregiver for my aging father on somewhat short notice and were recommended to LeanOnWe. My call was quickly answered(by a very knowledgeable staff member) and within a short time, I was given the names of multiple caregivers. I reviewed their profiles on the website including their credentials and prior reviews from clients. We selected Yvette and set her up to begin a few days later. She was great. My father, who can be difficult, was happy with her and allowed himself, for the first time in his life that I can remember, to be taken care of. When Yvette needed a day off for personal issues, LeanOnWe found a replacement who was just as good (although my father was not pleased that Yvette was not there, even for a day). My fathers condition improved more quickly than any of us imagined it would (he is 88 and we were thinking the worst) and it turned out that his need for a care giver was shorter than we had previously thought. The LeanOnWe staff could not have been nicer and we were able to cancel Yvette without any problems. While I do not wish to need their services for my dad or any one else, I would without hesitation, call them again if there is need for an in home care giver. I can not recommend them enough.

Lean On We has had my back since July when my father needed extra care. We started out needing two people to share 9-9 care. Then that changed to 24 hour care, and Lean on We was there again. Then we needed to have a nurse come in for medication management, Lean on we found someone. Betsy and Denise are responsible, and responsive to their clients. They hear what I say, what I need and what I am looking for. And the caregivers have been lovely, honest and trustworthy. Most importantly, my father thinks so, too.

After my father in law passed, we knew that being in an independent living community wasn’t the right place for my mother in law.We found her a beautiful apartment and through LeanOnWe we found a couple great live-ins. My MIL can be a bit difficult and likes an active schedule. The caregivers were able to accommodate her by driving to the senior center some days, the JCC other days, lunch with friends on others. Well you get the idea. And doctor visits interspersed.We needed one caregiver for the weekdays and another on weekends. My MIL’s schedule kept changing but the live-ins worked with her tirelessly. Sometimes twelve days on and two days off and sometimes five and two. LeanOnWe has kept her with capable hands.

We had an emergency and had to have supplementary aides for more than one person who was just home from the hospital. LeanOnWe provided excellent caregivers for the overnights, weekends and when the amount of care needed overwhelmed our usual arrangements. They provided high quality assistants when we needed it.

We found great caregivers through Lean on We. I think their subscription fees are too high, though, and I’m not sure why we pay them.

We have a caregiver for our 84 year old mother who suffers from early dementia, she has been with us for a while and we love her. Last year she planned a month and a half vaction back home and we were left needing to get a temporary caregiver in the interum.
