Very very clean, employees are friendly and the salon is open early to accommodate working people, my stylist was Tita a very nice lady.

I really wish I could give this salon a higher rating, afterall I was immediately attended to by a hair stylist who scrupulously honored my appointment time and got me out within a little over 2 hours; and the cut, wash, set, and blow dry yielded a neck length bob that, to my delight, lasted for a week and resisted succumbing to some serious NYC August humidity. Still, the interpersonal interactions were perfunctory. When I made my appointment and asked if they wanted my name, I was told no, that my appointment time would do. Once at the salon, the same lack of interest persisted...I came in as a stranger (even though I have been there pre-pandemic on a number of occasions), and I left as a nameless stranger. What a missed opportunity to make a client feel appreciated as a person. I am confident that you can turn this around, Eddies Salon.

I came in with longish just past my shoulder hair that was long in the back and a bit shorter in the front to frame my face. I asked for a trim of no more than 2 inches and to keep the basic shape. Specifically, I told the stylist, Tita, to please NOT make the back shorter than the front in an angled bob look. I demonstrated what I meant and explained I dont like that, She agreed with me and said OK she would not do that. She then cut my hair all the way to the nape of my neck in the back and long in the front in an angled bob, exactly what I had carefully asked her not to do. I had to go to another stylist to try to fix it. It took this past year of no haircuts during quarantine to grow out.

This salon is beautiful. The staff is friendly. There were really busy today but the service was excellent and pricing good.

Way too expensive. I use to pay 50 now they raised it to 70. Way too expensive for mediocre style. Ive been coming here for years but the prices are ridiculous. Last time.

Today I went in to get my hair done and was completely blown away. I have a sew in that was done from out of state and needed more hair added in. A hairstylist named CARMEN added more hair flawlessly, washed my hair with products that smelled so amazing, gave my hair a blow out and bone straightened my hair as well. My hair was so straight and bouncy that I got so many compliments on my social media story and on the streets of NY. I spoke with the owner afterwards and he was able to answer all of my questions I had about feature service I have interest in. The salon is beautiful, and offers many services that will make things so much easier instead of running around from place to place. It is very hot in NY right now and my hair still looks amazing after walking around the city all day. I will definitely be going in every week during my visit to get my hair done and I’m so happy to have found a salon I can trust with my hair.

Carman has been doing my hair for many years. She knows my hair and does weave very well. Eddie is answers my questions and i am very satisfied with his answers. Eddie keeps his business clean, professional, uncomfortable and making sure customers are satisfied. This is the highly recommended place to get your hair done. If you know hair and prices this place is decent. If you are going here to repair or seek advice for your hair, none of the ladies there know or care enough to help. They rush you in and out like theyre doing you a favor and over charge for basic services that come out very basic nothing special. Their techniques and tools that they use on your hair can do more damage to your hair than good so beware.

If your looking for a great place to get your natural hair done...come here and ask for Alicsea. I come at least once a month to get my dreads retwisted. I also get a wash, condition and steam. She is by appointment only so feel free to call and make one in advance. The salon is clean, family friendly and Eddie is the nicest owner that you could ever meet! Highly recommend this place 😏

I have been going to Eddies for years.But something has changed. I got a relaxer. By the time I got home my hair was a frizzy mess. I have never, ever had that happen before. But I went back two weeks later. For color, wash and set.... another frizzy mess! I am disappointed ☹️

Excellent haircut. I have curly hair and very few people cut it properly. Very fast, very friendly. I would advise the guy working the cash register not to tell women they should get their eyebrows done, its rude. Not everyone does their eyebrows or needs to. The women working there were all lovely.

This is the best of the best Dominican Hair Salon. Most Dominican hair salons are to small, to crowded or just a dump. But this place is huge with three sections and recently renovated. Very clean, nice and sometimes youll get wine.

Eddie jr’s is my favorite salon. They are very friendly and they always do my hair well. I get compliments from women and men on the way my hair looks. I would never go any where else. The owner is wonderful. He cares for his customers and his staff. He is what all business owners should strive to be like. Customer service is impeccable. This review is for the eyebrow technician Maggy. She does a wonderful job. Everytime I go elsewhere to get my brows done , I regret it. When I go to Maggy people stop me and ask where do I get my brows done. The salon is clean and neat.

I dont like this salon they don6t know how to do certain styles. I keep having to explain how I wanted my hair. They roll your here with a brush never saw that until I came there also they charge for every detail of service

Always a pleasure to go and get my hair cut. There was hardly anybody when I arrived on Tuesday afternoon, I was done in no time. This salon has been here for many, many, many years, that should attest to their service.

For weeks I have been passing this salon and seeing this after work wash and set special for $20 so one day I went in the salon and I spoke to a very nice male that was sitting at the front greeting people. I asked what the special included and he took his time and explained to me. So I stated to him I would come back when i have free time. I checked the reviews and it was excellent .. so after weeks again passed i finally went today about 3:30 but the male was not there so I proced to ask a Hispanic female that I wanted the after work special. She quickly stated no it starts at 5pm. I then stated if I can still get my hair washed no cause its $25.I continued to say ok I just want my hair was and idc about the charge. And at this point thats when I was livid at their customer service skills because1. All the workers was looking at me like I was stupid.2. Nobody attempt to serve me.I kindly said have a nice day.Apparently nobody at this salon has good customer service skills except the guy I spoke to a few weeks ago... but this salon would never get my money base on their BAD customer service skills.. so regardless of the good reviews about their hair skills they need to practice better customer service . They just lost a potential customer

I was very disappointed by my experience at Eddie Jrs. I arrived on Saturday morning before the salon opened with one person already waiting ahead of me. The salon opened up a few minutes after its listed hours. The salon immediately filled up with customers however most of the stylists did not arrive until about 12 to 15 minutes after the doors opened. I was second in line but numerous other customers were taken before me because I had to wait for someone to arrive that could apply my relaxer. The stylists should have all been in the salon and ready to work by the time the salon was scheduled to open. This wasnt the bad part of my experience, annoying, but not enough that it would warrant me taking the time to leave a negative review. The application of my relaxer was horrible. My hair was not segmented to apply the relaxer neatly and evenly. Relaxer was applied directly to portions of my scalp instead of just my natural hair roots. Relaxer was applied to about 7 inches of the length of my hair. The stylist was grabbing clumps of relaxer from the bucket with a gloved hand and rubbing it into my hair. In 15 years of receiving relaxers I have never witnessed this kind of application. My scalp started burning immediately. I had the relaxer washed out right away so my hair did not have the chance to get processed. I was mortified and as I looked around I saw other stylists applying relaxers in the same fashion. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU APPLY A RELAXER. This type of application will only lead to over processing of previously relaxed sections of hair and extensive damage and breaking. I would not recommend this salon to anyone for a relaxer treatment. I cannot attest to the quality of the other services but I would advise you to proceed with caution. The salon was nice and well kept, the staff was friendly, but I will not be returning.

Lady who rolled my hair in didn’t even know how to roll it in correctly. My hair ends weren’t smoothed. Didn’t bother putting a leave in on my hair. Did a shoddy job. Belkis tried to salvage by blowing it out - she is nice, but Again no leave in or heat protectant used. my ends are soo bad I came home and am currently sitting with deep conditioner on my hair to try and add moisture back in. Not a happy camper. And won’t be back

I have been going to Eddie Jr’s hair salon for over 15 years. Marisol has been my stylist for over ten years. When Eddie opened up the second location on 2nd Avenue and Marisol relocated to the new salon, I followed her being the loyal customer that I am. I actually didn’t even mind her moving to the new salon because the majority of the stylists at Madison avenue talk a lot of nonsense in Spanish about the customers. Even when I moved from Harlem, I still travel several miles to the salon, driving in from Queens, Bronx & Brooklyn. I have referred several friends to the salon as well. I have been a loyal customer up until today. Today, I went to the salon and was with my 9 year old son who was very quiet, calm and playing with his Nintendo DS. As I entered the salon and went to the back to get my hair wash Marisol immediately informed me she cannot do my hair because my son was there and asked if someone can get him. She told me that Cindy (Eddie’s wife) does not make accommodations for anyone and my son was not allowed there. I was very surprised at this. First of all they know that I drive in all the way from Brooklyn to come to the salon. Second of all, my son was not making any noise and lastly they personally know me. For them to turn me away and tell me that I would need to leave because my son was there ultimately showed me they do not care about their customers nor do they acknowledge their loyal customers. Shampoos have lost a loyal customer and I will no longer be referring anyone to this salon. I will also be sure to share this information with my friends and spread the word about the poor customer service at Eddies.

I use to love the place and location. Eddies dad did my hair when he has Shampoo years ago. However, the prices have gone sky rocketed. I cant even afford at wash and set when you have other salons in the area with reasonable prices. I dont recommend

I remember when Eddies father opened the salon called Shampoo, located elsewhere, then he moved to his current location. I have been a customer for sometime and my family treated me to various services offered by the salon for holidays and my birthday. On 3/22/2015 I walked in for my appointment to get a manicure and pedicure. The manicurist went to Eddie and spoke to him at length.She came to me and said the I broke the chair arm. I questioned her and through an interpreter that she said no but I didnt want to say anything to you.I dont want to be responsible she continued. I used the chair arm to step down and it was fine. Why wasnt anything said to me when I called several times to make an appointment? She then said that the chair has a weight limit of 250lbs.I then asked,are you saying that I broke the chair? I then asked Eddie the same questions. He explained that he ordered the chairs from the internet, He nor his staff didnt seem bothered that they discriminated and embarrassed me in front of other customers.Is Eddie going to embarrass each potential customer when she walks through the door and refuse to service her too?What business owner selects who he wants to service?I never expected to be emotionally abused by going to the neighborhood salon.

I use to love this place because it was so convenient and the lady that use to do my nails really took care of me and was awesome! BUT then they renovated the place and my nail lady is no longer there. Now they have one person doing the nails and trying to book a appointment is horrible. I went today because I finally got a spot, I made an appointment for pedicure AND acrylics manicure. I ended up walking out with just a pedicure and pissed as hell. The lady who does the nails told me when I called I said regular manicure but i was telling her I didnt because I NEVER get redular manicure, so because there is only one nail lady her time is very limited. She was saying no no no, and could not do the acrylics because she had another customer after me but thats not my problem? So I was frustrated and said just let me pay for the pedicure. The pedicure was 30 DOLLARS like whaatt? Apparently they raised the prices since January but I was not made aware of that. The owner charged me $25 since I didnt know. So I walked out not getting what I made a appointment to do, spending $25 on freaking pedicure and just frustrated. I am in college I dont have $30 to spend on my toes that is crraazzyy. Sorry, I loved this place once I HATE how they do my hair , I HATE their attitude and HATE the prices... its not worth it =/

I came here like a month or 2 ago I don’t remember, but the lady that did my hair did sooo awesome! I don’t remember her name though. Like my hair was so dry and damaged from getting it colored at another place.I came in asked if they could color my hair one color, then got a washing set I believe what it was also lol. But oh my gosh it came out spectacular, like my hair felt so brand new! Like awesome didn’t feel dry or damaged, and the color at the moment is beautiful even after 1-2months.Thank You!

I love it because they do a good job and more of my nails were very beautiful. I highly recommend it. The girl who made them is called flower and they are very kind, she hoped you like it, thank you.
