I recently took my 4 year old daughter to the emergency department due to vomit and lack of hydration and I was anticipating a long wait time etc. When we arrived we were greeted and attended to quickly. While we we’re waiting to be called, Dr. S Coronado approached us and got the main i formation for our visit. She made my daughter and I feel very comfortable and a little more at ease. They took us back within a few more minutes and the nurses assessed and provided treatment. I was very impressed with the nursing staff attention and care and Dr. S Coronado has a great bedside manner and even called me personally later to give us tests results and to check on us. I will definitely go back to seek medical attention again if I need to. Thank you Dr and nurses!!!

My mom was admitted immediately, they did all kind of test very fast, we received results in less than one hour and the doctor who explained them was easy to understand. The service was great. The rescue gave us the option to go to Kendall regional and we said “No Way”, take her to Baptist. The only negative thing is their billing department, they never seem to have all the information to bill the insurance correctly.

The facility was clean and comfortable. Everybody was nice and polite. The doctor came to see me pretty quickly. But I forgot (having a lot of pain) to ask about less invasive testing options and Baptist doctors notoriusly prefer X-rays and CT-scans to other tests like US (maybe because they are faster). Today I even got an extra X-ray because the tecnician didnt warn me that the test was about to begin and I was still moving my hands. Such accidents dont make me happy, considering I have done 10+ other X-rays via the Baptist system in the past 3 years and all of them turned out negative (no serious issues have been found). And no diagnosis. They did relieve my pain quickly though.

My first contact was the staff at the emergency room. They were kind, knowledgeable and understanding. The doctors, nurses, assistants, support staff and everybody else that assisted was very knowledgeable which is what we all really want. I was admitted and the care and professionalism continued on the floor. The nurses, nurse assistant and all staff were great. As a matter of principle, I didnt like the phlebotomists, even though I never felt the needle, but thats just because nobody likes their blood drawn.😆

Long waiting times after being admitted into the ER. Nursing staff can be seen casually chatting and web surfing on their cellphones inside the nursing stations without too much concern, or care for the patients in the rooms and hallways. It took two hours and a half from admission to be attended by a PA and some orders entered into the system to alleviate my severe back pain. The nurse Alex T and the PA Edgar Martinez were very nice and helpful, explanation of the procedures and medications were thorough and precise. The xray technicians and transportation staff were very kind as well, but all in all, it took almost 5 and a half hours for my pain to start improving enough to get discharged.

I can not mention how I feel about this hospital and the staff including the nurses. I wish I could provide no stars but by far the worst patient care I’ve ever seen or have been put in the position. It was empty emergency room and the staff on their mobile devices watching videos while I was in pain, shortness of breath, fever of 100 when I came in with many complication from the urgent care. The doctor named Laura Marie and nurse Ana should not be working in a field in caring and helping others feel better if truthfully they don’t want to be there. They did not listen to my health issues and how I felt. The doctor spent 15 minutes and just said I’ll prescribe something and left. I was still hot temp at 102, dizzy and nauseas and wanted to notify the doctor but the nurse stated that I have been discharged and I have to leave. I couldn’t walk due to my condition and the nurses didn’t care to help so I fell down because I couldn’t walk and dizzy. The nurses came to me as if they were walking in a park with no worries and said get up your oxygen level is at 100 your fine. It’s crazy to just here someone state that especially when it’s from another nurse. The staff their needs to be reviewed and understand that we are human and need of help and if you can’t go to a hospital and receive that treatment then where can you go. My wife came in to help me and speak to the nurse and doctor but again stated I’ve been discharged and can not be seen again. They contacted security and escorted my wife and I from the building still feeling the way I did. Not sure what kind of hospital does that when no aggression was displayed or threats just because of the concern of my health.

Great service, everyone from the doctors, to the nurses, technicians, transporters and staff were all helpful, attentive and extremely caring. All of them took care of my needs from offering an extra blanket when I was cold to offering to get me a menu so I could eat, asking if I needed help with my shoes or getting to the bathroom . Even though we all wore masks, I could tell by their eyes that they were very empathetic. The doctor did his utmost best to make sure that all my questions were answered without rushing me, did all the tests necessary to make sure I was alright and he tried everything he could to get to the diagnosis, I feel he left no stone unturned. I am extremely happy with the care I received and I know was in good hands with the Baptist Health Care team.

I waited about 20 minutes for the nurse to help me.I was initially greeted by Dr. Pazo. Excellent bedside manners, asked thorough questions and presented a plan for action.Katherine, my nurse, was attentive and explained things very well. Despite being very busy, I did not have to “chase” her down. There was a shift change for doctors during my visit. Dr. Giovanni was a god send! She was beyond attentive and left no rock unturned in her evaluation of me. I appreciated how she explained things and the thoroughness of her evaluation. I also appreciated that she didn’t make us stay an extra 2 hours for exam results and did follow through with calling immediately when results were ready.I don’t want anyone to go to the ER but if you need to, West Kendall Baptist service was excellent!

I’m sure that this testimonial won’t be read, like many of the ones posted here won’t either. But I feel like I needed to voice my experience because what happened was completely unfair. My mother came into the hospital 06/29/2021 at 4am after fainting with a blood pressure of 50 over 30; you can imagine how bad she was. After they took her into the emergency room everyone refused to speak spanish to her, and given that I am the only one that is able to translate for her I had to rush out of work to come see why people that clearly speak spanish did not want to be “kind” to a patient (I mean isn’t that what you signed up for?). The nurse that brought her in was clearly in a rush to go home, we don’t need to speculate this, he clearly stated his shift was coming to an end and whatever happened from there on was not his responsibility. Great. He tried to get my mom’s veins multiple times and was extremely unsuccessful, which today we have a full purple arm to thank him for. So thank you. After a couple hours the new nurse showed up, and my mom was already frightened given the fact that she could barely talk because of the pain and the fact that no one was speaking to us. Marta, the nurse that came in made the transition better, she quickly changed my mom’s sheets and proceeded to adjust her IVs because they were positioned in the wrong way. We proceeded to explain to her our awful situation and she was very nice about it, and took care of us like no one else did. Thank you Marta. Couple hours in the emergency room later a lab tech swung the door open, literally, no knocking, no excuse me, no anything. And without any word or warning went straight for my mom’s arm to once again take out blood (for the third time), crying my mom begged not to because of how much pain she had from the previous failed attempts. The lab tech with a very strong, rude attitude told me “If she refuses the tests I don’t care, less work for me,” I got furious and called Marta and explained the situation and she was kind enough to use one of the IVs my mom had to draw the blood. After many hours, 13 to be exact, and many useless tests later, she was finally notified that she would be admitted and taken upstairs. 2 hours later we were taken upstairs to a room and finally settled in. Everything upstairs went smoothly the following day, and she was discharged after she was able to eat solid foods without puking or any nausea. Fast forward to a week later 07/06/21, we are back in the hospital because my mom is having chest pains along with abdominal pain. God bless my soul, because I tried to be as patient as I could. The nurse in the front sent us to registration after we had already expressed our very high concerns for the chest pains (i mean what if she was having a heart attack?). I took her to registration and the lady without any greeting told us to fill out the paper and move my mom out of the way. I’m sorry? The patient with chest pains was in your way? I reiterated that my mom was having chest pains and she shrugged her shoulder and said “so? you still have to wait.” Once again, God bless my soul because I stayed quiet (mistake of mine) and completed the paperwork, after I was done I handed it to her, and she told me once again to move my mom out of the way. I apologize for this but at that point I was extremely upset and proceeded to scream that I was done with her and that I wanted a nurse to take care of my mom’s chest pains and that is when someone finally came running to take her to an EKG. I turned to the lady in registration and she said “You could have told me she had chest pains,” and well, I don’t have to explain how mad I was. After a rude nurse that whispered she thought my mom was overreacting I told her that I wanted to speak with her boss and her bosses boss, because the attitude was not what I wanted for my mom. They rushed my mom inside and assured us they would get to the bottom of it. My that stayed with her since they only allow one guest and I went home to rest after 24 hours of no sleep. Once again I had to go to the West Kendall Baptist Emergency Room to be seen for low blood pressure and low blood sugar. I’ve been diagnosed with Hypoglycemia/ Addison’s disease for over 7 Months but I go to the emergency when it really gets bad and it’s seems that with all the medications I take nothing keeps in check. So my expectations are for them to help with treatment any possibility come with ideas on how improve my quality of life by doing possible additional studies or procedures that will help. Baptist is incapable of doing that all they do is triage until my sugar and my systems get better which only helps for about an hours an than I start crashing all over again and they refuse to admit me for more tests and send me home the same way I came in.My advice to anyone having to go any Baptist Hospital is to make sure you know that they don’t have the medical staff to solve problems or conditions, all they are good for is obvious condition emergency care. One thing I will give them is that the hospital is clean and pretty...

Security, registration and nurse that took vitals were comforting and tried their best to move things quickly for me. As I was taken to a room I was greeted with my nurse Pilar, who was amazing. She was nice, nurturing and tried her very best to make my feel safe and at ease. The doctor who saw me however, Dr. Augustine, he was the rudest doctor I’ve ever encountered, my husband couldn’t believe he was the doctor. Imagine screaming, crying and bleeding as a doctor starts asking you questions and rolling his eyes at you as well as making sarcastic remarks. That was my experience with Dr. Augustine. I think at some point I was in so much shock of how rude he was I stopped thinking about my pain and answered back at him with the same attitude he was giving me. Some doctors not only need medical education but they need bed side manners courses as well. Dr. Augustine maybe a good doctor but as a human being, that night, he sucked! I went in today with a shoulder injury. I was in extreme pain. I was surprised when they sent me to get X-rays instead of an MRI. I’m not a doctor by any means but I do know you cannot see ligament damage on a X-ray. So after waiting the Dr came and let me know I didn’t have any broken bones. I could have let them know that before I walked in. I didn’t go for a broken bone. They referred me to an orthopedic and gave me a phone number to call. So I call as soon as I get a chance to make an appointment and the number provided was for a foot and knee doctor. So after all this waste of a morning dealing with wild goose chase I had to hunt down the right medical group that see patients with shoulder injuries. When I finally get a call to set an appointment, the soonest they can see me would be May 25. I was is so much pain that I drove myself to the hospital how is it possible that the next available appointment would be a month from today. This is absolutely they worst service, I have ever received at any Baptist hospital. I don’t know what has changed, but I can assure you that my experience today was night and day compared to prior visits. My wife went a month ago and had a very similar experience. I do hope someone reads this and takes some kind of action to improve other patients experiences.Sincerely Jose Acosta

Sensitive, caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate, what more can you ask for in a care team for yourself and your child. Thank you Nurse Joao JP Papadelis and Dr. Kobilis for helping my son as we got through his fainting spell today. Thank you for all that you did to help make us comfortable, diagnose , educate, and set up follow up for us. Baptist Hospital of West Kendall and our community are blessed to have you care for us.

I cannot say enough from the people at baptist that attended me with high blood sugar levelsthat got away from my scope…..the staff at the entrance that guided me quickly to the urgent care facility, to the triage area, to the nurse and the nurses, the doctor, the level and attention to details are second to none. Thank you all that worked on me and got mee back by the end of the day and ready to go home. God speed to each of you! Angel Salgado

I had an issue with nausea, and vomiting. Couldn’t keep anything down that amounted to more than 1/2 cup. In 9 days I lost 15 lbs. From the day that I first came in, I never felt like I was being taken for granted. They kept me informed of every procedure, the reason for it, and what the results were. The nursing staff was exemplary also. For most of my 3 days in the hospital, my main nurse was Keydi, but I can’t remember her last name. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and addressed any issue I raised, without making me feel like I was being a bother to them. Staff like her made a bad situation tolerable, and even pleasant at times. I would have no hesitation trusting my health to “Baptist Health” again.

If you want to wait 3+ Hours to remove a tampon that may cause Toxic Shock Syndrome this is the place to go! I have been sitting in the bed and when I asked an estimated time they said that the doctors are busy with other patients in more severe conditions. And I understand that 100% but 3 hours is a little much. I definitely think more doctors have to be hired or something because the service has just been horrible update 4 HOURS!

I went in with excruciating pain. Left the same. No medication at the hospital at least to make me comfortable. I was left in a room with no one checking up on me. A needle in my vein just there with no IV. Dr. Was not very initiative to get to the problem of my physical state. I am very unhappy with the care that u received. No blankets just a pillow. Very very disappointed.
