I used to love my doctor there, Dr. Rider, but the office there is awful! they have too many patients, you have a HARD time getting in with your doctor, after 2 failed attempts of getting a call back and getting in due to my condition, I end up in the ER, then the patient advocate gets me in, my doctor has an attitude during the appointment. Want a follow-up in 3-month (Dec) with his NP , well they call and cancel my appointment, which they did the year before in Dec. In the ER at UT , those doctors even told me to go to Vanderbilt for better care. So I have!! UT could not even get my medical records sent to Vandy, said they could not Fax it, and told me it was mailed, when it was NOT... I could go on about the things that have been missed on my care, and how horrible the office staff has been to deal with but JUST GO TO VANDERBILT!!! They have been WONDERFUL and so helpful!!!!!

I have been trying since Monday to get my MRI results. I have missed their calls twice. The first one Monday said to call back as soon as possible. I did and left a message before noon, no reply. Got the next call before they opened at 7:40am and missed it (was busy setting up for virtual workday and not expecting a call before their office hours). I called back immediately and left another message, no reply. Called back today, no reply. For the telling me to call back immediately I hope my MRI was clear. I’ve never had so much trouble getting in touch to get lab results before. I even put on my HIPPA forms that the results could be left in my VM (checked the box for it). Last time I had a doctor do this to me I almost died. Will definitely me talking to a patient advocate.

You do not want to go to this place for migraines Even with a referral from UT physician. There is no one there that treats Migraines. You end up with a NP who only wants to get you on the new biologic shots. Its like listening to time share person that puts heavy pressure & visit all about biologics and ignors other health issue like possible heart attack .Found other doctor who listen about neuropathy & mri showed severe pinched nerves. Every visit waited a hour , felt trapped having to listen to NP for another hour about biologics. I dont have 6,000 annually for biologic & doctors dont know how it effects organs. I finally read sumatriptan pamphlet & solved the heart issue myself, sumatriptan not good for people w/ poor circulation. I think UT in cohorts with the blackstone group & southeastern ER & southeastern physician group. Look at Npr.org for southeastern ER

I was recently diagnosed with migraines from my Primary care Physician and he wanted further testing and to also put me in the hands of someone who deals with them medically. While he was making a Neurology referral on his own, I received several recommendations for this clinic. I called to see about scheduling an appointment on my own. The first question I was asked was, is your Primary care doctor a UT affiliated Physician?. I said no. The next question was do you have MS or ALS? I said no. She then said we are currently not seeing patients that are not referred from UT affiliated physicians or do not have a debilitating condition. She didnt ask what my diagnosis was, what insurance I had, nothing. As a Respiratory Therapist, and a person familiar with healthcare and how referrals are generally made, I was shocked. I had to ask her to repeat herself. I heard her right. Its nice to know that UT is so busy these days that they only need to take care of their own. I will be happy to keep my business with Convenant where I have always been Treated Well.

I love the friendly, professional staff that get you ready for your appointment. With Dr Trudell who has truly done wonders for me as I go through this new stage of MS and his knowledge is extensive, up to date, and he keeps me going when I think its time to give in an he gives me reason to hope. If I could I would give 10. stars!!! Punctual and little wait time..when your with doctor you also dont get the fee?IMG he isnt thinking there...

Im a patient here , there isnt any other option for me as far as a new practice or doctor in my area, so this is it. Everytime I need an appointment, help with a prescription, blood work etc its like pulling teeth. No idea why its so difficult but it is. I have called and be almost out of medication and needed them to send a prescription for me and it takes a week of persistent calling and voicemails to get it done. If you need an appointment, even if your an existing patient the wait is normally months (2-4). The Doctors there are nine and helpful but the nurses and other staff are not. If I could choose another practice I would but I dont have many options with my area and insurance.

Dr. Rider has managed my son-in-laws seizures so they are manageable and with less medication, he is infinitely more alert.

Not a patient. Today I called to inquire about a drug called Spinraza. The lady who took the call was not very informed or helpful. After telling her why I was calling, she stated they only see established patients. I then replied is this office not accepting new patients? Her reply was yes but there is a stack of patients on my desk waiting and it would be two months or more before I could be seen. I then replied that would be fine, because they were the closest place using Spinraza. Her indication seemed to imply they were in fact treating patients with Spinraza. She then stated I should call another practice. Her reason was, It would be closer to my home.. I again replied there is no other place closer using Spinraza. After hearing again my reason, she says I dont know if they are using that drug and what was the name again and how do you spell it.My reply can you please find out. She returns to the phone, stating I was told by one of the nurses here we are not using that drug. She also said it was because insurance will not pay. I then replied if a person has the ability to pay cash for everything which I do would your practice treat someone needing Spinraza. Her reply I dont know, you would need to get insurance approval first. She seemed annoyed at my persistance. I then told her I was very sorry. If she were in my position she would do the same and thanked her for not being helpful. It seems to me this practice is not seeing any new patients or they will not see new patients if they live to far away. Maybe they are under staffed I have no clue. I have never had someone who answered the phone at a physicians office deter me in this manor. It also seems this person had not even listened to my inquiry. This was indicated at the end of our conversation. I would hope they are not like this with others needing an evaluation or treatment. Very disheartening when a person seems to have no clue as to what is or isnt happening at a practice. Maybe she needs an assistant to help with the stack of new patients.
