First, everyone was friendly. Second, Dr. Smith was intelligent, through, and to the point. He easily explained the situation with my hand in clear, easy to understand language, and suggested what he thought would be the best solution for me. BUT, he also gave me an alternative if I wanted to take the less invasive method. He came highly recommended and I have the highest confidence in him.

I have been through the UT Ortho office several times before and it is nice when the ladies at the registration office remember you! Such was the case this week. I feel quite at home there as I have had siblings and other family treated by your fine staff and they are always very courteous and understanding. The visit with Dr. Smith was very informative and he said if I had other questions to just call back, and I will be taking him up on that as I have thought of some questions I failed to ask. Thanks again for the excellent care you render to all of your patients. I will not go anywhere else.

I was running late, I called. The receptionist said I had 15 minutes. I arrived on campus at 106. I had to find a place to park . I forgot that the practice had changed buildings. So I had to hurry from C to F. I called again, I told the receptionist I was almost there. They allowed me to be seen. Dr. Smith was very good as always. I will not change hand doctors.

Staff very pleasant to interact with, not a long office wait, and Dr. Smith has an excellent bed side manner. He is always smiling and makes sure you are well informed of your condition. He doesnt make you feel as if he is in a hurry to move on to the next patient.

On acation in NJ I dislocated my middle finger on the rt. hand. I was sesen by a hand specialist and subsequently by a Physiscal Therapist. Returning home, I was seen by my primary who referred me to Dr. Smith. The staff was propt, the wait was short, and Dr. Smith is a no nonsense guy who just tells you everything right up front! He Expained my injury to me, told me what to expect in the net 6 months, and took me out of the nasty brace I was placed in by NJ Phyiscal Therapist. I would recommend him to anyone who needed him.

The initial intake seemed good and I felt like this was the place to take care of my broken hand that needed rods and pins. For six weeks I dealt with this trauma to my hand the best I could. They said and did all the right things as if they cared for my well being. Two weeks out of a traumatic surgery, a nurse called me and said I should not be in pain anymore to use Tylenol. My hand was dislocated and broken metacarpal with three pins sticking out! NO INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN TO ME ABOUT RODS STICKING OUT OF MY HAND!! So on Christmas Day I developed a fever of 103 and delirious from the fever and pain. I was called in a few antibiotics and never offered an office to check the infection draining from my hand. Today my rods were removed quickly and when asked of my pain level I was honest with their number system and let them know it was and has been a 10. I cannot work due to working with my hands daily. And cannot put pressure on it at all. I told The doctor about my pain level and the infection and he simply said oh it will be fine and left the room no giving me no antibiotics or pain medications giving me no anabiotic’s for the infection or checking my temperature or addressing the drainage from my hand and never once addressed the pain level. He treated me as if I was one of those people only seeking pain medications and I left feeling like just another number. PLEASE FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR THAT WILL ADDRESS YOUR PAIN AND CARE WHEN YOUR SERIOUS ABOUT AN INFECTION FROM YOUR SURGERY!!!

Dr. Smith is the greatest! He has completed nine finger surgeries for me due to arthritis, and has replaced joints in each finger. I have one finger to go before he retires. I highly recommend Dr. Smith to anyone with hand problems. The surgery relieves the arthritic pain.

1:15 appt. & I brought completed paperwork downloaded from your email. Waited 90 minutes to see Dr. Smith. His diagnosis/x-ray technician took 15 minutes and was very professional. If waits are going to be that long, need to promote option to wait outside instead of breathing same air as 50 people I saw come and go during their check-in and check-out.
