I just looked at my credit report; I have many charges on my credit report from these people; 546; 1394; 713; 601; 622 all from these people. I thought it was odd so I looked at this place and I looked at the reviews. I was in 2 wrecks which all my bills were paid by the insurance and my attorney took care of them. I know these are not from that because these bills were dated way more recently. My son went to the er with chemical burned from a water park about two years ago. They are not even around the time he went to the doctors and one was from 9 months ago which no one has been to the dr in 2 years plus. Im not sure what to do at this point because thats a heck of a lot of hits on my credit report.

I had an emergency appendectomy in December 2020. After I had it the bills started coming in. The surgeon who performed the surgery spent a lot of time with me before and after the surgery and billed me $1100 as I am uninsured. The emergency room Dr. came in my room before I had surgery, said hi I’m the ER Dr. and the surgeon will be in in a minute I’ll order a pain med for you. He was in the room less than 5 minutes and never came back in. He billed me $1800 through this company. When I called them and voiced how crazy that was they said I could dispute the charge. I sent multiple emails to them per their instructions and never heard back. I called about once a month to follow up and see if anything had been done and they kept saying the emails are first come first serve and they have not got to mine yet. I re sent the email multiple times and have never heard back to this day. I then received a call today from a collection company. I am beyond furious and will be notifying BBB about this and they are not supposed to send any account that is in dispute to collections. And I have touched base with them many times and have never received an answer.

Never been here a day in my life but somehow they appear on my credit report in collections?? What? Disputing it right away.

My daughter had an ER visit and my insurance covered all but $118.32. We received a bill on June 5th and had a due date of June 9th. My daughter starts receiving text about her bill being due on June 6th., 3 days before due date. Why do they text before the due date? Harrassment!

Tried to dispute it off my credit and it was denied removal. Need to contact the credit bureau and report this as fraud.

I too, have a $1507 bill that keeps increasing each month on my credit report!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO SOUTHEASTERN PHYSICIANS, EVER!!! I’m paying my UT HOSPITAL BILLS IN COLLECTIONS from emergency gallbladder surgery & hernia repair in 2016!!! I had no insurance but, I AM PAYING MY BILLS!!!

Was admitted on Methodist East for 3 days. Informed them I had a name change. Name change did not happen apparently. Also, was not informed I would receive a bill for physician services separate from the hospital stay (thats who these people are). So now Ive been trying to contact this company for 2 days. I am constantly disconnected. I am waited over 2hrs for someone via their on website chat services. When I finally did get someone I got the wrong fax number the first time and had to try and call back for a different one. Both representatives were very nice and as helpful as they could be with a name change that required proof of name change. This company has got to fix their telephone lines though. It is absolutely awful trying to get through.

I have 8k worth of debt according to my credit report with this company. I had medical insurance that would have covered it. There are 2 bills each attached to a different credit reporting company. I have appealed both and and was denied. This is insane to see so many people have had the same issue. I also never received any paper statements showing what the charges are for......

I had an on the job injury which resulted in a trip to local emergency room. Nine months later I get a letter from a collection agency. Seems I was seen by one of Southeastern physicians at the hospital. I never received a phone call nor bill showing the workers compensation had not paid the bill. I called and asked why my first correspondence was from a collection agency. The rude person said they did not have to reach out to patient, bill was not paid , and they turned it over to collections. I asked what reason workers comp gave for denying bill and was told since they turned it over to collections agency my file was no longer in their office. After talking to workers comp folks, they never received the billing for payment. Southeastern Physicians office procedures and personnel are poor excuses of business practices and personnel. I just hope the doctors are better. Do not recommend anyone using this group.

For some reason my wife received a bill from them for over $1,500 and we’ve never been to Knoxville, let alone been to an ER there. Seems like they’re trying to scam money from people to avoid closing. Fraud isn’t cool.

Received a bill for $500 from them in 2018, have never even been here in my life and for some reason every dispute I make keeps coming back saying the account is accurate.

Much like others, never been here, never heard of them. No prior mail or phone calls. Out of the blue i get a text message with a link. Already fishy. Against better judgement, I clicked it and it redirected me to a bill for over $2,000! Nice try, scammers.

Terrible Customer Service. I just experienced the most condescending rude person on the phone after getting transferred many times while trying to get explanation about an old complicated medical bill. I hope you dont have to call them!

Received collection on my credit report from 3 years ago. Never received a bill or any phone call. They provide me an address which is not related to me at all. Got screwed big time

The date is December 14 2019 and I just got a collection notice for Wakefield and Associates from Southeastern emergency physicians for e amount of $1900+ this is a scam never been to this place I live in Old Fort Tn and the only hospitals I’ve been to is Tenova and Memorial heart institute where they do their own billing and they were paid in full for their services in February 2018 so my insurance deductible was meet and out of pocket was meet so I would never have to owe this much in the first place. And secondly the date they said I was there 8-28-18 I would have been at work and they are also closed on Tuesday’s.

I had received a text from them (twice apparently) that would take me to a link to show my balance. I was weary of putting my information in so I called the number. I spoke with Heather, who was very helpful, and she confirmed (without prompt) the date I went to the ER, my doctors name who was billing me, and a breakdown of the total vs what was covered & what we owe. She also informed me when I told her I was weary of them being a scam based on the reviews that I could call my hospital and ask them who they do their Physicians billing through if I needed further reassurance. All in all, I dont believe them to be scammers - this is just the result of an outside physician working with the hospital. Hope this helps ease anyone elses mind and avoid a potential hit on their credit! If for some reason anything changes, I will promptly update this post.

Never received a bill from this provider, it was an ER visit at Fort Sanders hospital from March 2020. Today 8/10/2020 I get a bill from a collection agency, never even knew I owed anything since they never sent a bill. Very poor company will not be going to Fort Sanders again if they use this kind of company.

More of the same as everyone else.Never heard of this place, let alone been to it.My insurance would have covered any medical bills I received, had I received any rather than it going straight to collections.Upon reading around, it seems like they may be billing for other places. I wish I knew where this stemmed from, if anywhere. That said, this is looking less and less like an insurance error.

I received a letter from Wake Field and Associates with charges from this office from a doctor that I NEVER seen. Im in the process of buying a house and NEVER received any correspondence from this office until I got the letter from Wake Field. I received a letter from UT Medical Center, of which has been paid in full. This seems more of a scam than a legitimate charge. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau about this since there are multiple people with the same issue.

Im currently trying to buy my first house and only when i went to check my credit score did I discover that i apparently owe this place money.This was a shock to me because i have never heard about this place let alone been to it. According to my credit report i have a bill from here dated 2015 when i was 19 and still on my parents insurance so i have no idea why i owe them such a large amount. To everyone reading this and confused: Southeastern Emergency Physicians are contracted out to work in various hospitals in the U.S. to work in Emergency Rooms. For example - I went to Mercy ER in Arkansas - and I thought I was dealing with Mercy, but I got a separate bill from this agency. I called Mercy and the ER employee is not actually employed with Mercy! At no point was I told that I would be getting a separate bill from another company or that the employee did not work with Mercy.So if you received a bill from this company but have never lived in Tennessee or ever heard of this company - most likely the same thing happened to you. You went to the ER of a hospital thinking that the employee worked at that hospital when really they work for this company. I unfortunately received two bills: one from Mercy for the room and xray and one from this company for the physician services. So if you think you already paid up - unfortunately you most likely did not.Its unfortunate because the person who attended to me was probably the worst medical experience Ive had in my life - so its a travesty to have to pay so a large bill for poor service.

These physicians are taking me to court. I havent been to a hospital in the past 5 yrs. This will be interesting, Ill be counter sueing them.

This practice is extremely negligent. Incorrectly entering important data information at time of service (ie..address ). This caused me to be sent to collections because bills were never sent to the correct address. Be mindful to confirm they have all of your information entered correctly.

I noticed this on my credit report. I too am tryin to buy a home. I never received a bill on this. I dont understand where it has come from. I disputed n they say im still responsible for this. Im not worried bout payin a doctor bill. But this is rediculous. I was never sent a bill or notice of any kind for this bill of $696!

I just received a bill from a collection agency from you all. I literally only walked in told you i had injested some chemicals accidentally and was told you all were not equipped to help me so i promptly walked out. Rest assured I will be clearing this up as I owe you all nothing.

Just got a bill from this place and I’ve never been there. I’ve only ever been to a children’s hospital and fort sanders where I live. They put some random date on the bill and had none of my personal information except my name.

Received a bill in the mail today, 01-18-2019, from Wakefield & Associates on behalf of Southeastern Emergency Physicians stating that I owe almost $900. For what? This smells really fishy to me. These people are trying to scam innocent people out of money. I have no idea who, what & where these physicians are. The letter is dated 01-15-2019 with a signature from Laura Tragesser Weber (so it says). If you trying to sue me (like the letter stated), Ill be waiting.

I received a over a $500 bill from them because I went to the emergency room in Paris , Ky. I was told the hospital contracted them but the only thing the E R dr did was prescribe me eye drops!! Definitely price gouging!!!

This place is contracted to do the billing for physicians at the UT Medical Center. Check your bill against your insurance explanation of benefits. It will probably match a physician charge not covered for service you received.

They dont even send a bill before they send it to collections and sue you six years later....
