Dr. Allen Rice is a fine example of what doctors should be. He is a caring, considerate professional who takes time with his patients, listening to all concerns, and then decides and acts on the best solution. He is a credit to his profession and to Tennova. I leave his office feeling like I have left a friend who is also an intelligent, experienced medical expert. I would highly recommend him as a Primary Care Physician !He has an excellent staff including, but not limited to reception, nurse, and lab technician.

Dr Rice listens to all your concerns and is very patient in explaining everything. He’s a very knowledgeable doctor and on top of the latest medical studies, practices and medications, especially in this trying time.His years of experience speaks a lot. Office personnel and nurses are completely friendly, and the upgrade with the interior is great. Dr. Rice is extremely knowledgeable on every front. He doesn’t try to hurry up the session and get as many people through the door as possible. He takes his time with his patients, and he makes them feel at home and comfortable and able to tell him absolutely anything. For me, it’s almost like seeing a doctor and doing a confessional at the same time. Perfect place to see a great doctor no matter how old you may be.

I absolutely love Dr Rice. At the risk of sounding weird if he could just adopt my family we would love it. 🤣🤣 He’s such a knowledgeable doctor. He takes time to explain anything to you, even pulls his phone out to look stuff up to show you or if he’s not sure about something. He has the best bedside manner and will take anything serious that you talk to him about. If it’s something he can’t treat he will immediately send you where you need to go. I will stay with Dr Rice until he retires, which will be a sad day and I hope never happens. You will not regret seeing him.

Alan Rice, MD has been my family doctor for over 25 years. I have a complicated medical history and would not trust anyone but Dr. Rive with my care. My parents and my husband also see him. He cares about his patients and he never rushes you out the door. His staff are incredibly kind. You can always get an appointment to see Dr. Rice with ease. Dr Rice is one of the Beat Physicians that I have ever been cared for . Ge is very concerned aviut his patients and takes great time and effort in their care. He doesn’t make me feel that I am an inconvenience and is in no hurry although I am sure he has other patients to care for . I am thankful and grateful duo to have him as my PCP as I have many many issues and he is concerned about every one of them . Tennova is sure better off to have him as part of their team and I am sure glad to have him as my physician.at one point I was somewhat concerned with his nursing staff but I think that has improved somewhat. When my doctor of 20 years retired, I never thought I would find another one. After a year of being very unsatisfied at another facility I found Dr. Rice. He is great!!! No offense to anyone, but I don’t understand why we have these because no one ever listens. Except what they want to listen to. Like I said no offense, you ask my opinion I give it. Then I get criticized, and yes I am still having pain. I don’t want pain meds I just want to find out why I am hurting all the time and it taken care of. I know what x-rays say but I feel more is going on cause I didn’t hurt like this until after my accident. I also apologize Because I have Tenncare. I do pay for the Tenncare though. Unfortunately, my grandmother has been a patient for over 13 years, and we have seen a rapid decline in this practice. There has been an increased rate of turn over in nurses and staff. The doctor used to be hands on with his geriatric patients, but recently he has had his nose in the computer punching keys instead of evaluating his patient. When your head is in the computer, the older client is unable to hear what is being said. Please spare your aging parents and find another geriatric physician.

Dr Rice was my physician for a little over 10 years when he was at the Clinton,TN office.He was the best doctor that I ever had. He left to pursue working with people over the age of 50 and at that time I was about to be 40.I havent been able to find another doctor like him since he moved from the clinton office.He was a huge loss to the clinton community .West Knoxville has the best doctor ever in Dr. Rice.
