Yes there sometimes is a wait, but like any medical facility where peoples lives may be on the line, they do take some back first if their blood counts are very low. I had this happen to me when my WBC / RBC were bottomed out, they brought a wheelchair to take me on in to a room. I have sat and waited for longer at other times with complete understanding and compassion for those that who may have been in my situation. Not to mention that Dr Hanna took on the patient load of an outgoing Doctor and done a wonderful job. Dr Hanna is an amazing Doctor and a very compassionate man which is more than can be said for some other reviewers here.

My husband decided to quit his Immunotherapy, Dr Hanna was very rude to us and would not answer our questions regarding my husbands CT scan. We ask if the ct results could be possible lung cancer, he stated oh its probably an infection , see you back in 4 wks!!! No compassion at all for my husband who has bone cancer. We ask what could be causing his increased pain, he stated I dont know. We ask how the immunotherapy, which has been causing cdiff, was affecting his colon, he stated Im not a colon doctor. No questions were answered about anything we ask. He stated my husband could have an infection but yet all his lab work was great. We left his office knowing nothing about what kind of treatment they were going to give him for this infection. We ask if they could do a lung biopsy and he stated no too many complications! If you are looking for a compassionate doctor dont go here.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hanna for a year now; he was brought on board my case while I was fighting for my life with complications due to septic shock. He has treated my wife and me with the utmost care and has taken the time to make sure we understand the intricacies of what has happened to my blood system. He also found the root of my clotting disorder, which no doctor in the past 20 years had been able to or taken the time to do..His bedside and office manners are impeccable; at no point has he ever made me feel rushed, dismissed, or not listened to. The same goes for his office staff. I am very happy to have him as one of the doctors caring for me.

Ive been a hematology patient of Dr. Hannas since 2006. I have a complicated clotting disorder that has never behaved as it should. Dr. Hanna is my 4th hematologist (the previous ones were department heads at large teaching hospitals) and has by far been the best, most knowledgeable and most intuitive. Hes able to tailor my treatments specifically to me and my tricky clotting cascade, rather than following whatever the standard treatment is (thats rare in Tennessee). Hes saved my life more than once. Hes been involved in most of my hospitalizations by either including me in his rounds--even when my hospitalization was not clotting related--or by advising doctors caring for me at other hospitals. His compassion is unquestionable.Hes a truly great physician who will be remembered long after he is gone and I count my lucky stars to be one of his patients. Hes also done much important research in his field. His offices have always been comfortable and sensitive to his oncology patients. Often there are harp players and therapy dogs wandering the lobby. Ive had the same super skilled phlebotomist doing my blood draws each time I had an office visit. His floor in the hospital has always been the most comfortable floor. Heres another fact--before his bookkeeping was taken over by UTMC--he never turned anyone away because they couldnt pay and never sent a past due account to bill collectors. Ever. But make sure you get a parking pass when you leave the new cancer center parking lot or youll have to pay 10 bucks as opposed to 2 if you dont have a handicapped tag.

The wait are ridiculous and the staff are ride at keeping you informed of whats going on and always ha e excuses for instance was told they go by your appointment time not when you arrive example if you get there thirty minutes before your appointment amd someone gets there a hour after theres and your was after there by 15 minutes they wait for the other person to arrive instead of keeping the flow of patients going through which keeps weak sick patients waiting for 4 hours thats bullshit
