I was a patient at this medical facility for over 2 years. I was initially seen by Dr. Chobanian, but switched to Dr. Samavedy more recently after I felt I was not being taken care of adequately. After switching to Dr. Samavedy, my experience was even worse. I feel that he had already made a decision and a plan before assessing me and from reviewing my medical records from Dr. Chobanian 2+ years prior. I tried to explain that my condition has significantly worsened during the last year, but wasn’t listened to at all. During my appointment, I was talked over and practically dismissed. I was told, “not everything is a GI problem,” after explaining symptoms that I was worried about. I left the office and cried in my car. I’ve spent so much money here on testing and scopes to get zero answers or good suggestions. I made a decision at that point to switch practices entirely. I would not recommend wasting your time or money here.

Dr. Haydek and his staff are fantastic. I had been referred to a different type of Dr from pcp and they said it was GI related and got me in right away. When some tests came back irregular they had me in the following Monday (my appointment was Thursday afternoon) to get more lab work completed. Also the nurses were about to schedule me tests not preformed there within a weeks time. The receptionist were kind and quick as well as the lady who triaged me with blood pressure type screens.

I had started going to GOA because the hospital said i had an enlarged liver & referred to GIA. I went here for 2 years and was being treated for Gastroperisis. Not one time did they discuss my liver. I had several procedures and nothing helped. I delt with Dr.Altaw at first and i liked him then i had a procedure with Dr. Huffman and he had no bedside manner at all and very rude. Then i was given over to the NP Olivera. She just kept giving me medication. She wouldnt listen to me at all. She wanted to do another procedure that I was already told couldnt be done. I done some research on my own and my husband & i decided to get a second opinion. Thank God i did!! They had misdiagnosed me for 2 yrs. I wouldnt go here unless you like procedures & medication

I would give them a 0 if I could. I called to reschedule an appointment. The staff was very rule and unprofessional. I was told by the scheduling supervisor that she was getting in touch with our doctor because she claimed it was the 2nd time the appointment was rescheduled. This was the first time rescheduling and when I ask for a different doctor because the doctor that my wife was assigned to wasnt going to be in the office on the day we need. The scheduling supervisor got real rude. U would avoid this office and go some where ekse

Racially discriminated by receptionist. Im leaving this review on behalf of my mother. My mother called this place on 5/20/2021 ~11AM to book a medical appointment. After the receptionist heard my mothers foreign accent over the phone, the receptionist asked my mother for her green card only bc of the foreign accent when she was trying to get medical attention. Checking someones immigration status for a green card is not a requirement to book a doctors appointment or any other kind of service that youre paying for. The receptionist solely asked for her green card w/ the intention of discriminating my mother from getting medical access. By the way, she doesnt have a green card bc she is a US CITIZEN as US CITIZENS dont have green cards, only permanent residents do. This was a clear act of racial discrimination by the receptionist and such type of behavior is intolerable in the healthcare industry. You think the receptionist is out there asking native english speakers if they have a green card before they can book an doctors appointment? NO.

Dr. Altawil closed the appointment with the final statement, “I’m not here to argue with you. I’m not starting an argument with you. I’m not judging you. I don’t care about you at all. When I walk out of this room I’ll see the next patient & never think about you again. You don’t matter to me in any way.” After he argued against every word I said & told me he can’t be my doctor because I won’t tell him he’s right Im wrong about which symptoms I get, when I get them, how long they last, & how I prevent them. I’ve experienced symptoms for decades. Dr. Altawil refused to test me for hereditary disease that occurs on both sides of my family.

This was quite honestly the worst experience with a physician I have ever had. The front office staff work friendly and limited wait time. However, the time with the actual physician was TERRIBLE. From the beginning to end of the visit I had to fight for her to listen to my complaints. All that was wanted was a scope, which was unnecessary in my case. I left with the diagnosis that I came in telling her I knew I had and had to fight to make her look and identify on her own. Then, she handed me an “educational sheet” that had information opposite of what she had told me and did not review any of it with me, I’m sure so that she could chart “educated patient on ________”. Then she wanted to have me back in 2 weeks - for what?? To pay another $135 office visit for her to not listen to me? I am so frustrated with our healthcare system’s infatuation with making money rather than properly caring for patients.

Staff were polite, nice. But, if wait time is more than average signing in & doing paperwork, the staff made unacceptable. Errors listing meds & doing vitals & acccurately getting Past Medical History. Dr. Moore is 100% BUSINESS. Was not interested in personal issues & HIGH % of GI issues are DIRECTLY RELATED TO MANY emotional, personal issues & our GUT reacts to personal issues & THIS MUST BE DISCUSSED IN most physician patient relationship. I saw my previous GI doc >25 yrs.+. I began telling Dr. Moore of my past personal history. Which had HIGH RELEVANCE TO MY GI ISSUES. He interupted me & said okay..enough of that......., WHY are you here today?...Chronic RUQ pain, hx of pancreatitis, stones, ERCP MANY XS, POLYPS, GASTROPORESIS, GERD, CHRONIC CONSTIPATION & DIARRHEA, CHRONIC ABD PAIN, DILATED PANCREATIC DUCTS >11.5 & 13..5, last ERCP, CHRONIC NAUSEA if not CONTROLLED, VOMITING for 7~10 days. Took YRS to get proper antiemetics taken ON PRECISE SCHEDULE to keep me out of hospital. Dr. Moore refuses to prescribe the med regimen it took my previous GI doc, & GI. Spealists @Vanderbilt >12~14 yrs to FINALLY get a cocktail of meds & 1OFF LABEL USE of 1 med WHICH HAS BEEN APPROVED BY BOARD OF DOCTORS BY MY INSURANCE FOR 15 YRS........& Dr. Moore refuses to prescribe for off label use. Which he HAS A RIGHT TO DO....He is a good GI doc. He referred me to Dr. Huffman....Now, Dr. HUFFMAN IS AWESOME & VERY, VERY THOROUGH, EXCEPTIONALLY PERSONABLE & HE HAS MORE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM & DR. MOORE. BUT AFTER THE HELL IVE SURVIVED~~~I HAVE TO FIND A GI DR WHO WILL PRESCRIBE WHAT HAS KEPT ME OUT OF HOSPITAL FOR 15 YRS. IT COST ME MY MARRIAGE, MY JOB & 15 yrs of normal life. Both Drs are okay. Dr. ;Huffman & Kelly. His nurse are GREAT.

Did not hear from this office so we both called several times to obtain results of the MRI with no luck. Finally my PCP obtained the results from the facility as the provider office did not have them and this was 2/11/2020. I had my first appointment with Dr. Moore yesterday and was honestly expecting a terrible experience because, well, healthcare. I was SO pleasantly surprised. This building is immaculate and everyone I encountered was over the top friendly. I was actually seen BEFORE my allotted appointment time and didn’t wait for a minute. It felt like they were expecting me, and only me (imagine that!).Regarding Dr.Moore, I was blown away with how he listened to me and his knowledge of the latest medical research/technologies. It finally feels like I have a “partnership” with a doctor and we have the same goal, i.e. make me feel better and finding out what is making me feel bad. He developed a plan of what we would try, what we could test for TODAY, and when I would come back vs. doing what other docs do — “try this, and if it Doesn’t work than schedule another appointment.” My consultation ended up being super valuable. Also. Dr. Moore didn’t talk down to me. He made me feel like his job and priority was to help me. Lastly, he said he calls personally with all lab results .. good and bad so if you don’t hear from him, it’s because he hasn’t received them. I like this because it opens the door to discuss results regardless of their nature. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back :)

I have been a patient for nearly 4 years. At the beginning, everything seemed standard with appointments, treatment, etc.. I had a great doctor, nurse practitioner, and all great nurses. As time went on, the corporate side of the organization came out because it seemed as if everything was about money versus meeting the needs of the patients. Increased visits, treatments given more often, more labs, etc.. When you are dealing with sick people, a considerate bedside manner is expected by the patient and I don’t feel like many that work there have the manner or want to be on the patient’s level of conversation. Although my nurses are still great to deal with, my original MD and RNP no longer work there. I can’t help but wonder what all the reasons are. I don’t recommend anyone going to this facility and I will not be back. If you’re sick, I get it, get help anywhere you can get it. If you want to be treated like an individual patient, you should take your insurance card to somebody else.

I have been absolutely blown away and impressed by GI Associates and Dr. Moore! They have been so kind and caring during a very scary and frustrating illness. Dr. Moore spent as much time as he needed to go over every detail of my history and come up with a thorough and speedy plan of care. I had a consultation with him on Thursday and was in the office for my procedures on the following Tuesday!! When does that ever happen in healthcare?! I had the results instantly and further treatment plans following. Dr. Moore definitely cares and his staff does as well. Ive never felt so at ease in such a scary place before.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This practice is highly unprofessional and refuses to take responsibility for their actions. My daughter went there for a routine endoscopy and her medical history was discussed in front of her ride (you must have a ride after this procedure) without her consent AFTER she was assured by a nurse that medical information wasnt discussed in front of others. The CEO got involved after I brought this to their attention and he was the most unsympathetic, unhelpful individual I have ever dealt with. Bottom line... Dont expect any privacy here and do yourself a favor by taking your business elsewhere.

Having to discuss “bowel movements” with a lady that’s 40+ years younger than me had the potential of being embarrassing, I’m thinking as I sat in the exam room.Turns out, that the time spent with this healthcare professional was a delight! She is not only easy to talk to, but also knows her “stuff”! It’s not typical to find someone as smart, listens, and can make and share a laugh, with a patient discussing “bad poop”!Peter Kopp

The Upper GI required 50% pre-payment with the remainder due shortly after the procedure. I have medical insurance via my employer so lack of insurance wasnt an issue. Regardless, I had to postpone the procedure until I can gather enough cash.Insult to injury, I was billed a few hundred dollars for the consultation just to find out the cost of the procedure. Although my intital visit with Dr. Chobanion was informative and caring, his billing department and registration are a nightmare. My Primary Care called me and let me know I have a referral to see him and I attended my first appointment. I was texted that I was supposed to be there at a precise appointment time to which I was 5 minutes early. She told me I was late and i had to show her the text . I did not get an apology, but got a lengthy explanation about how I should have been told to be there earlier to fill out six pages of paperwork. I was seen and sent for an immediate blood test where I tested positive for the second time for AMA levels indicating a progressive disease. I was then scheduled for an Endoscopy. They sent me an email, text, AND a phone call to confirm and I prepped. The morning of, at registration they told me that I did not have a referral. My PCP referred me but they told me they need a written note. I was very upset and told them I should have been told this. No apology once again but I did get a lovely Supervisor to come in and let me know in a snarky tone that Unless you want to pay 1500.00 today , we cant do this without the referal.I explained that THEY suggested the Endoscopy, that my initial referral was from my PCP, and that they notified me in three different forms to be there. They turned me away from an Endoscopy and Liver Biopsy that they suggested I get. Time is of the essence in finding out my issue. They were unsympathetic, uncaring and unapologetic at best.( And they informed me that I would be back billed for my initial visit that my insurance had already sent me their payment statement for)

I have used Dr. Edmunds since then and am now 25. About 8 months ago we were going to switch medications. All was fine paper work was going through. The stellara nurse told who she was and why she was calling. A few moments in she said “Dr. Altawil”. So I immediately stopped her and said no my doctor is Edmunds. So confused I called GiA for explanations. They would not give me any, just said Dr. Edmunds was no longer there and said my doctor was some guy I have never heard of or seen before. My question is when were they going to actually let me know my doctor switched. Finally after getting a hold of my new nurse, she informed me my treatments would be far to expensive there and that I should “just find somewhere else to go”, her exact words used. I only came to this practice for Edmunds, now that he has started his own practice i have changed and will never be back to this money first health care facility.
