This salon and staff are amazing. They work to keep everyone safe and have great protocols in place. They are knowledgeable and skillful. They did a fantastic job on my daughters Sisterlocs. This is the the greatest place to get natural hair styled and whipped. If youre transitioning to natural as well, this is the place to be... Monique styles my hair about every 2 weeks. She is a God send with miracle fingers. I never know what style i want or need but i am always satisfied.

I loved the salon so much!! It even smelled good, I sat in that chair for a long time waiting for my hair but I was in a comfortable environment. It was definitely worth the time, first time getting twists and I get compliments all the time.

And me being a stylist I am very discussed my mother had been planning this style for a good minute. I feel like there was no communication my mother sat in her chair. After she charged her $1200 she then charge her $190. I’m highly disappointed

My daughters have gone to Your Natural Image for loc install and maintenance for over 5 years. They provide good service, my teen daughters felt safe there and they taught us to take care of locs.

Ive been getting my locs retighten by LaShaun for several months now. She and her staff are wonderful. LaShauan does a great job and she is fast. The salon is clean and welcoming. I look forward to trying other services in the future.

I’ve been going to YNI for approximately 7 years now. I started my sisterloc journey there 5 years ago and just recently got a color service. I’ve received so many compliments in and out of the country regarding my hair. I love how professional and respectful they are. The shop is clean and modern and they take COVID protocols very seriously.

My stylist was late to the scheduled appointment. I spent $35 on a consultation that was nothing more than your typical conversation with a stylist. The consultation form that I filled out almost a month prior, at the request of the salon, wasnt even mentioned or referred to during my visit. Finally, I left the salon with nothing applied/done for my dry scalp. Im still trying to figure out what I spent $75 on. I will say that the salon is clean and well maintained, despite my lackluster experience.

Probably the easiest part of my life is setting up my hair appointments and getting my loc maintenance done every 8 weeks. Natural hair has never been easier.

Today was my first day at the salon. I thank God for these wonderful ladies. Lord knew I needed my hair done, and put me with the right people. Monique was excellent! She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and great personality. She gave me helpful tips on how to maintain my hair too! The professionalism I seen was outstanding. Organized, neat and comfortable. Even the receptionist Keisha was nice too! She made sure that whoever walked felt welcomed. She offered water, coffee or snacks. Never been to a shop thats so well put together. I ended up not getting my hair done there, but I wanted to leave a good review because I still had a great experience. The salon was very comfortable. The ladies there were very nice and honest with me about my hair options. They could have just taken my money, but instead they were more concerned about the health of my hair and whether or not I would be happy with the end result, which I really appreciate! If I decide to be hard-headed and get locs anyway, Ill definitely get them done at Your Natural Image :)

This was my first time there and I got a shampoo & trim. The lady that worked on my hair was kind and fast. She was gentle detangling my thick 4C hair as well! I definitely will be coming back again!!

They did an amazing, amazing, amazing job. I really appreciated their service. Let me start on all the things I did appreciate. I appreciated the decor. The decor supported the black community and was surprisingly trendy and cute. My hairstylist started on my hair at the appropriate time. The hair products they used made the combing/brushing/styling of my hair not painful at all despite how I didnt comb my hair for days. I wasnt burned at all when she flat ironed my hair. It took the time they said it would take. My hair looked extremely extremely beautiful. I would take all my natural curly friends here, and I recommend this salon to all naturally curly people.

Great experience. Ive been doing my own hair since going natural but lately my hair just wasnt acting right. Monique did a great job with my wash n go. The people in the salon are friendly and helpful. Ive recommended this place to several friends who have struggled to find a place to learn about caring for their natural hair. I look forward to going back and trying different styles.

I called today to reschedule an appt that I booked simply because I had Influenza B - highly contagious. I wouldn’t have mind being charged a fee IF I didn’t plan to reschedule for next week. But given the circumstance, and proper documentation that I have the flu, they charged me $26.50 for not showing up! I support black businesses, but I wish they could be more lenient and understanding to situations. I don’t know if I’ll return just because of the situation and not being understanding.

So let me start by saying Ive found my new Master Cosmetolgist in Kansas City, MO. Monique, at Your Natural Image Salon. But trust me when I say everyone was completely awesome. They are definitely a family. Team work, makes the dream work! They make you feel as if youve known them years. The fact that it was black owned and operated, was just a bonus. But please dont think Im selling them short because of this. All Im saying is I felt proud of the owner and the fact that she created an atmosphere that showed pride, yet humble, strong, yet not over powering. Being a stylist myself its sometimes hard to find people who know how to take care of your hair, and even harder if you are natural. But I was able to sit back and completely be a customer. And a very happy one at that. So if youre looking for a group of talented, friendly, and professionally looking plus acting young lady. Treat yourself and give them a try. 🤗

I am happy with the way my hair turned out, it was difficult so I am not mad about responses to it. I was surprised I was not asked to reschedule and not even sure what was happening as i watched tv. Everyone was pleasant and helpful.

My son appointment was at 3 today he was in the chair at 3. They were all friendly, Monique gave me instructions on the next step and I will be there in two weeks for retwisting. The shop is beautiful and clean, positive energy. I called to ask questions and booked online very simple. I recommend this place

Great customer service and very clean

Very poor customer service.In the beginning I told the hairstylist I live 2 hours away. There was a chance for inclement weather and the beautician did not see the need to call me and let me know that shop would be closed.So I wasted time coming down, a hotel room for coming the night before to beat the potential weather for nothing. I would never imagine that if you are going to close your shop that you would not call your clients and let them know. How hard is that?!On top of that, the last time I went Monique half washed my starter locs and retwisted my locs with dandruff everywhere. I had to sit in the car and pick visibly noticeable dandruff out of my hair. Which was a task due to whatever sticky junk she put in my hair.One top of that I left a message on the phone and sent a message through messenger which they have not bothered to return.SIMPLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!They should be ashamed of themselves and I am highly disappointed.So if you want to be treated like a number then Your Natural Image is the place to go.However, there are to many other salons in the area to bother with this one. Save yourself the trouble and go with one of them instead.You had one job!!!!

I have been going here for almost 3 years. My sister locks are perfect. I found the location via the sister locks website. The location is convenient, clean and comfortable. Scheduling can be tricky, but its easier if you are flexible. This has been the BEST place to begin my loc journey and continued hair care.

I have been here 4 times. First two times for natural hair services and last two for extensions. I went in for a 360 frontal install. Wasnt done correctly the first time, no problem. Went back in to redone. Still wasnt done correctly. Went back to get a refund, the owner insisted I get in redone, but at that point I was already frustrated and the frontal had been cut too much. After much debate, eventually she agreed to a full refund. Unfortunately, I only recieved a partial refund. It makes me sad to write this review.

Very hard to find decently priced salon that caters to natural hair. You can trust these ladies to tell you the truth and help you with whatever hair journey youre on!

My 4 year old daughter gets her hair done here and absolutely loves it. The establishment is very nice and clean. They treat my baby like a princess and very gentle. I recommend anyone to get theit hair done here.

I thought about booking an appt here, as I have been here a few times before. Once for locs, once for a mani and the last time for a facial. After remembering how uncomfortable the owner made me feel after a statement she made about my locs and I should start booking with her. I felt as if she wasnt confident in the women that she hires at her salon. She basically said Shes not doing a good job, I can do better and sure enough I wasnt completely satisfied. However, after waiting almost 25 mins after my scheduled appt to be served and another 3 hrs to do my hair, I was just ready to go. I also have witnessed a stylist dry combing natural hair, also known as snapping if dealing with dreads, that is a big mistake when dealing with dry, damaged, hair. Someone who claims to be so educated on hair, that just didnt seem right. If the owner wasnt so judgemental and opinionated, the experience here would be nice. She speaks very low on the black community. Overheard a few comments that was made. The nail tech Marlasha rocks!

Have visited this salon a few times since late 2020 for loc extensions and retwists, and have walked away not fully satisfied with my service each time. Staff frequently arrives late, cut corners, and will do anything to squeeze as much money out of you as possible, without completing the full service as advertised. These people are crooks! Look for service elsewhere.
