The owner Janice is AMAZING and saved my entire day. I was scheduled at another salon that failed to write down my appointment so I took my hair down and showed up only for my stylist not to be there. I did a little research and came across Chocolate City. I called and told Janice my situation and she was so professional and pleasant and worked me in on the same day. On top of that my hair is extremely damaged from years of weaves and little maintenance to my real hair. She permed and cut me in a style that complimented me and made me confident despite my thinning spots. Janice did a silk press on my 13 year old daughters very thick and curly hair. Her hair looks great and I was given good details on how to maintain the style with her type of hair thats opposite of mine. Very thankful I found Janice and look forward to regularly allowing her to grow and treat my babies hair.

I had made an appointment and in less than 24 hours from booking it to the appt. Itself I was informed that we terminated an employee and I had to cover shifts. I tried to reschedule however the beautician I spoke with wanted a $45 cancelation fee for a attempted to reschedule $95 job. They use a website to schedule your appt and you must use a CC to reserve it. I explained that the cancelation disclosure did not mention a fee amount, just that one would be charged. If it were reasonable I wouldve paid it, I read thr apparently partial disclosure however since she wanted almost half of the total cost of service I will not be going there, nor did I pay the absorbatent fee. Shame on you.

I must thank Janice so much. What an amazing person she is on top of an amazing job on my hair. I got most of my hair cut really short to enable better growth, starting fresh. I live in Kansas, and its difficult to find a black hair salon for services, or a place that will do natural hair. For a reference, my hair is a 3c/4a combination. I scheduled a single process hair color to go honey blonde on virgin hair. Haha Janice informed me that this will be a double process. She did an excellent job, I ended up having to use 2 bottles of color but Janice persevered! She did and excellent job to get close to my curly ombre clip ins. I left my roots dark. I will definitely be back, as I do not like to dye my hair.

Janice cut and styled my pixiecut from a picture that I showed her. I love that she was very very professional, knowledgeable about all types of haircuts, knows how to cut hair, uses professional chemicals, and didn’t keep me in her salon chair longer than I needed to be there. Janice is worth the drive from Fort Riley, KS (Junction City, KS) to Kansas City, MO to get my hair done. Down in Junction City there are no hairstylists who specializes with pixie cuts. I’ll be back every two weeks whenever I’m not conducting military training. I love my hair and so does my husband. Thank you Janice💋💋

All I can say is Oh my!! Oh my!! I did a complete CHOP. My hair reached down to half my back.. And I cut it off.. My father just recently passed in June and he was a major part of my life and still is. He mentioned that I would look good in a short hair due.. I can only wish he could see it now.. I wish I done it sooner.. My mom picked out this style and I just went for it.. Janice was my stylist and I showed her the picture.. Ironically Janice has the exact same hair style I wanted.. Kinda like Hair-at-First-Sight!! She finished me in about 3 hours.. She is a little heavy handed lol but nothing that I am not used to.. She always asked if I was okay throughout because she knew she was heavy handed.. Cost was very reasonable!! Will be going back for my touch ups!! She also did explain how to keep up my hair because I am not used to short hair because I had long hair all my life..

VERY ADAPTABLE, DOESN’T BACK DOWN TO A CHALLENGEMiss Janice colored my hair for me today! There were a few things i didn’t do as a client, i didn’t send a picture of my hair and i didn’t tell her the right length! I said my hair was shoulder length but i’ve got about 3 more inches than that. Hair length is very important in the coloring process so you know how much product is needed. Miss Jancice was very i see standing with it and made it work! She is a great and friendly stylist and I love my results!

I came here based off Google reviews and I was not disappointed. When I called the number, the owner answered and not only did she answer my question and refer me to one of her stylists best suited for my desired style, but she gave me their personal numbers and told me to please call back if they didnt answer so she can help. I placed an appointment with Nita. She did a weave removal and natural hair blow out. She was very gentle with my hair and I truly left there feeling like she genuinely cared about my hair and health. Ill definitely be back. The parking is a bit weird but its on a main through way so you cant get lost finding it.

I had first visited this salon about 5 months ago for a special occasion hairstyle that consisted of finger waves. The woman that had serviced me was Mancy. I returned 5 months later for the same hairstyle for a different occasion and was not disappointed again! I had the Best experience at Chocolate City! I am so hesitant for anyone to touch my hair but myself and my Mom, because no one does it right...Except for Chocolate City! Nita worked with my thick natural hair with ease and made me feel so comfortable the whole time. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it. I walked out of there the happiest I have EVER left a salon...ever! I won’t be going anywhere else nor I will be doing mine myself if I don’t have to. Had a walk in appointment with a lady named Tracy Nunelly and she was terrible. I showed her what I wanted beforehand and she did nothing like the style I asked her to. I also asked her to wash my hair and she did not she just went right into styling it. She was not very social at all and acted as if she didn’t really want to do my hair. She did my hair in 20 minutes.I used to love this place but I will not be coming back.

Donnita is great!!! She really took her time with my knotted hair without having to cut any of it out. Her rate is very reasonable! The shop was very clean and comfortable!!!

Tried out Chocolate City salon and the experience was the worst. Thought I found a weekly stylist, her name is Donita. The results were subpar at best. I paid a total of $185 for two styles I washed out immediately. Went back to confirm she was trash and I wasn’t tripping lol. First appoint was a walk in...got a trim and wash and finger coils for $80 looked basic and half done. Week later...tried something different got a quick weave for $105 same thing...washed it out as soon as I got home, was a waste of some good weave. My search for a decent reliable creative care about your hair health stylist continues.

On yesterday had my hair done by Miss Janice, for the frist time. Who not only loves doing hair but also loves and cares about her clients. She did not only made me look and feel bless, but Im double bless for having her as my new hair specialist.

I did a walk in on a Saturday with Donita S. she was the best. I got a wash, condition, trim and a silk press for a really good price and she left my hair feeling better than it has before, Thanks Donita. I will be back and I will recommend to anyone you won’t be disappointed.

Stylist was very nice. Whatever product was used however, caused a blistery rash on the girls head. Not that the stylist would have known it would. But since it did I dont think I will return. I dont expect her to change her products for my kids, Ill just go elsewhere.
