Love this office! Every doctor takes care of their patients like family! Would recommend 100% to anyone that has medical issues or needs a glasses prescription! Also, the optical side is amazing! They are professional, knowledgeable and offer the best quality lenses on the market. Also love that they accept Eyemed and Vsp for vision plans!

Bait and switch!! My wife went in on Saturday. They claimed to take her eye insurance, did the exam, and when they were done, said oh sorry, looks like we dont. It will be $165 bucks. Then they tried to sell her 2 $600 pairs of glasses since she needed 2 different prescriptions. We ended up going to a place that actually takes her insurance and got both pairs for $365. Be careful!

I have been to Clay Eye twice and had an outstanding experience on both occasions. Everyone from the front desk to the Doctors were knowledgeable and friendly. My eye exams were thorough as well as the answers to all of my questions. The technology at this facility is amazing. Thank you for your professionalism.

The staff and physicals are great at this practice. Very helpful, professional and polite. I myself have worked in many physicians offices and know how they are supposed to work and this practice does. Also, I love our doctors at this practice, very knowledgeable and they take the time we need for any explanation. Dr Downer is it primary and he is really great.

I dont like to leave bad reviews but this was completely earned. My husband and I went in for an annual eye exam on a Saturday afternoon because of our work schedules. I left in tears and my husband left angry. The Dr. was very aggressive and loud. My husband abruptly ended his appt early-I initially thought he didnt want his eyes dilated but that wasnt the case. She had been screaming at him and pointing her finger in his face. I was trying to figure out what was going on when I heard her screaming from the back talking about us while we were up front. The receptionist and girl checking us out were hateful. Another employee hid behind her computer and said something to the effect of; Needing to get her schedule changed because this happens every Saturday with this Dr.I had medical eye check-ups regularly with Dr. Hayes and thought he and the staff were great. I even made the comment to my husband about how he was going to like this place. I still dont understand what happened that day with the other Dr. It was such a different, cold environment. They were even nasty calling to tell me my contact prescription was ready. I thought I was doing the right thing by seeing Medical Professionals for our eyes. We would have been treated better by a retail chain store. My family will never go there again.

Appointment setting..easy. Discussed I needed updated prescription for contacts and inquired about the fee... nice lady said $95. Ok. Sounds good. Arrived at appointment, reasonable wait time. First part to do initial check...very friendly. Next part after 15 minute wait...Dr. Green.. not my favorite for sure. Seemed knowledgeable but definitely not interested in the patient and when I described my needs for contacts so I can see computer vs. how I was using my current prescription glasses, he got a bit argumentative and pushing his glasses and contacts instead of ordering online. After the exam, he rattled off some numbers to the assistant and was about out the door until I asked whether that will address my need to read while at my computer. He changed his comments and recommendations to the assistant. They didnt have any contact lenses on site to try and would need to order them. Prior place i went to had them in stock. Tried this place since I had such a positive experience with doctor Levine for an ophthalmologist referral. Not so much this time.Next step was to come back after they order samples...No discussion of how long that takes.Checkout...$185...what happened to 95 like she said when I set the appointment...oh who did you talk to...uh, your appointment setter...why so much...oh you had contact fitting...thats extra..why...thats all I wanted, to order more contacts....back and forth....wait...Ok, no charge for today...sometimes we dont like the doctor.. we have a new one starting next month...nice no charge...not so good no new contacts. I offered to pay 95 and have my contacts evaluated as discussed. Cant do that...ugh!Clay eye...Dr. green...off the list. Thanks for the no fee though. Thats why upgrade to 2 stars.

We have high deductible insurance, so this office estimates how much the insurance company will allow and has us pay the remainder at the time of the appointment. Back in 2015, we overpaid for my visit by $79.72 which they casually mentioned at a follow up visit the next month, but insurance wasnt finished processing at that time, so I never got my refund. I forgot about it and even though I was back in 2016, I didnt get my refund. I didnt think about it again until my husband came home from a routine visit that cost us $228. I remembered my refund and went up to ask about it. No apology, no good explanation and it took them a couple of weeks to mail me a check for my over-payment.

I fell in love with Clay Eye because of Dr. Green but my experience today with a different doctor was horrible. First, the doctor tried to down play the pain I felt in my eye. She told me that if it wasnt a shooting pain then it really wasnt pain. Her interactions with made me very uneasy. I am very nervous when it comes to someone examining my eyes and she was flipping my eye lids and sticking things around my eyes without really explaining to me what she was doing. Then to top off she told me to do hot compresses, use eye drops and eyelid scrubs but couldnt tell me what was the problem. When leaving the office the receptionist was very rude. She tried to tell me that my copay was $60. I told her it was $45 and she then proceeds to tell me I will charge you $45 now and send you a bill for the rest. If I didnt like the doctor I normally see, Dr. Green, I would never come back to this place.

The only reason I am giving two stars instead of 1 is because of the Doctor I saw. I went to the Orange Park location on 9/11 and was told it would be 2-3 weeks to get my glasses. I finally received a call yesterday 10/4 that I could pick them up at the San Jose location on 10/5. I walk in and was rudely greeted by a blonde who instantly had an attitude that she had to get up and look for my glasses since the lady who handles that had a customer. She then told me she couldn’t find them and I had to wait (which ultimately made me late for work). Once I was helped I was told they weren’t brought over like they should have been. Super annoying and a waste of my time and gas! This is not how you treat customers! This is a true example of terrible customer service from the front desk, lack of organization and communication between offices and after this visit, I’ll make sure to never come back and tell family and friends not to either!

They are professional, helpful and quick. They called me 10 days after my appointment to let me know my glasses were in. And that includes the weekend. I was impressed..

Ive been going to these people for treatment of a partial occlusion (problem in the retina). I find them (Dr. Pecoraro & staff) to be competent, pleasant and forthright in procedural explanations.Im age 74, ex military, and a former bank executive. My point here is that Im not that easy to please. (Truth be known, I have often been referred to as a hard ass.) these guys and gals are TOPS in my book.

This place is TERRIBLE! I came in with a corneal ulcer, an actual eye emergency. I waited in the initial waiting room for 40 minutes past my appointment time. After getting taken to an exam room for 5 minutes of intake questions, I was taken to a secondary waiting room. It has now been over an hour past my appointment time. There are still 3 more patients ahead of me waiting to be seen...

I had surgery done there a year ago by Dr. Downer - a total regret. He was arrogant and the surgery actually made my condition worse, although he said it would cure the problem. The procedure and post-procedure were very painful, although he promised Id only be uncomfortable for a few hours. It lasted weeks and the end result was my eyesight is worse. I paid all my deductibles and co-pays, and now out of the blue theyre sending me bills again. Im not paying anymore for terrible service from them. This is apparently another McDoctors Office...a chain of medical offices that give substandard service - much like a fast food chain. And notice with all the bad reviews here and on Yelp, they never respond.

Avoid this place at all costs. Dr. Green is very pushy, insensitive and unprofessional. I went to him to diagnose a problem with my vision. After the exam he called another doctor in the room and turned on these intensely bright lights and shone them right in my face. All I could see were silhouettes. It felt like they were trying to intimidate me like police interrogating a suspect, trying to get a confession. It was VERY uncomfortable and it was obvious he was trying to scare me into getting treatment. When he finally wraps up the appointment he tells his receptionist to schedule him an appointment for an injection. He didnt bother to explain what kind of injection, or where. This freaked me out to the point where I just wanted to get the hell out of there. After doing some research I find he was talking about a series of injections directly into my eyeball. Wow, no thanks! I found another doctor to treat my condition without sticking needles in my eye. Steer clear of this place!
