Everyone here is friendly and kind. They all seem genuinely concerned about their patient’s health and well-being. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment which was at 9:00am. I left at 9:30am without seeing anyone. I am a working person and I value my time. I am tired of showing up on time for my appointments and being made to wait for unreasonably long times to be seen. Today was a busy day for me and I had important meetings at work That I could not miss.

Check in fast, never have to wait long, tells you cost and whether insurance pays for it and if not what it will cost you. Each individual that works with you introduces themselves by name and lets you know what theyll be doing, all test are explained, all questions answered. When everything is completed the Dr reviews each step and goes over all their findings and exactly what they mean. If there are any problems all options are explained in detail and they will give you their recommendations. They were recommended by Dr at hospital during an eye emergency with my Dad, they did such a great job with my dad, I decided to go to them for a check-up.

I’ve had excellent experience(s) with frames & lenses at Bowden Eye & Associates; “Armani” is my go to Optical Consultant for frames and lenses - she is always professional and knowledgeable...I’ve continued to return despite switching to a Mayo Clinic Optometrist, because she is so helpful.She takes great pride in her job and I highly recommend her.

Great experience, friendly staff. Got me in for a same day urgent eye issue . everything from Check in to being seen, to being referred somewhere else once we found out what was wrong was easy and the staff and doctor was excellent.

I found out I had cataracts around September 2020 so my primary doctor suggested I try Bowden which is beside her office. I am 66 years old and never had seen an eye doctor so all this was new to me. I was overwhelmed with information originally when I arrived at my appointment however throughout the entire process of getting my eyes cleaned, tested , and prepped for surgery did I realize how important everything they did was necessary for a successful outcome. The front and back office staff at both Mandirin and Southside locations were and still are very knowledgeable, personable and definitely know how to get there jobs done in a timely manner. Doctor Bowden and his surgery staff are Wonderful !!! He is very informative and talked me through both eye surgeries with outstanding results immediately. Yes I still have to do eye drops for several more weeks and follow up test which I appreciate because my eyes feel so much better and I can see without eyeglasses !! I just love this Great team that work together better than most medical facilities and I have recommended them to everyone I know that needs to see an eye surgeon. Thank you all for such a great experience for me . You will continue to be my go to eye specialist !

Dr. Bowden was great when I saw him, but the office staff and their policies need some work. Theyve been pressing me towards surgery which I need, and they wanted to schedule it prior to Christmas. However, I needed one more test prior to having the surgery. I went in last week for that test and today when I tried to get the results, I was told that I couldnt been seen until 12/28. This is past when they wanted to originally schedule the surgery and will actually push the surgery into the new year so it falls under a reset deductible. No thanks...

Im not super great with getting drops in my eyes, but they were very gentle and put me at ease. 10/10 would recommend, everything from the front desk to the techs made this a great experience.

Tried them instead of usual eye doctor for over a year now. Today I tried to reorder contacts and could not do so on patient portal they provide. After 15 min on phone tech said script expired 2 days ago..... So I would just order pair to get by correct? but no. Cant order any till exam. But it gets better. I have appointment in November. So why have appointment in November if script expires before? So I have to make another$$$$?Previous doctor I saw there was not very pleasant and have learned has since moved on. Current doctor seems nice but wont be back with this lack of effort to be helpful. Its not the mistakes made that are issue it is how they are resolved. No offer for appointment ASAP, pair to get by with or just order some being scrip expired 2 days ago. No effort.Im back to 1-800-Contacts

Clean and cared for office. Lots of choices for optical wear. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They take their time and listen to your questions. I never felt rushed in my appointments. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Biwden Eye for over 20 years. I started with Dr. Bowden and switched to Dr. Darbondi several years ago just to get in faster. The staff is very pleasant and easy to work with. Dr. Bowden and Dr. Darbondi are wonderful and very personable as Im certain the other doctors are as well. I would most definately recommend this practice. They really do care about your eyes.

The staff is amazing. Everybody was so friendly and the office was being wiped down while I was waiting. They also have this device that sanitizes rooms when they are empty so everything is completely sterile and you feel reassured when you enter another roomDr Darbandi took her time, listened to me about what I wanted done and gave me feedback.. She is so caring and gentle I would not trust anyone else to work on my face because as they say “you have to put your best face foreword”. Bowden eye needs to acknowledge people and there are waiting first walking in the door. They could say we with you in a minute something like that. Also you really need some sharp frames

The main reason for 3 stars is the lobby waiting time. They schedule too many appointments close together. To me ,this is about making money over patient experience. We waited over 90 minutes and was told they had emergency walk-in patients. I can understand to a point, but if you are accepting them daily., then allow that in patient scheduling.

I would highly recommend Bowden Eye & Associates to family and friends! My friends son took a fish hook to the eye and Dr. Darbandi took EXCELLENT care of him. The trauma caused his eye pressure to rise, which was very concerning, but she and her staff explained step by step what the plan would be going forward. Two months later he is doing wonderfully, pressure is normal, and now yearly follow up are all that is needed. We are very appreciative of the entire team at Bowden Eye & Associates!

I was suddely faced with a visual issue combined with a preexisting visual issue and needed surgery. Dr. Bowden and his team took good care of me and due to his on the fly surgery adjustment my surgery was not only a success it improved my vision. Dr. Bowden saved my vision almost 20 years ago when other ophthamologists told me there was nothing more they could do. I am now old enough to have cataract surgery. Everyone in all of his offices (I’ve been to all of them) is so nice and knowledgeable. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Bowden is my eye doctor; he is gifted in his profession. God bless him, his family and his staff.

I was under the care of Dr. Cronin who was amazing. Once he left and I went back in to purchase eye drops at the Bonneval locationand I was treated VERY poorly. The front desk staff near the eyeglass side was EXTREMELY rude. They had nasty attitudes and no one could answer the questions I was asking. I asked for Dr. Bowdens email information and a woman from the billing department told me he doesn’t have any. I know this to be incorrect, because I’ve apoken with him on the phone before. I had been with this practice for 3 years but never again.

I am receiving the best care for my eye from Dr. Bowden and his staff! So far i have had a corneal transplant and a shunt-tube placement surgery. And I am pleased with the outcome of both surgeries! I have better vision now than I have had in a long time! Thankyou Dr. Bowden!!!

I am a person who asks questions during my visits and I have never been made to feel my questions were silly or pointless or that someone is too busy to give me an answer. On the contrary, there have been several times when doctors at Bowden Eye & Associates have told me that I ask very good questions. The doctors and the entire staff always take the time to make sure I am comfortable and that any questions I may have during my visits are answered fully. I have actually become more educated about many eye conditions and available means to treat them which I appreciate.

Worst place, im not going here again. Even with insurance, they add lot of hidden fees. They force you to buy glasses and contacts with them. They didnt do my eye exam since I told them the price is expensive here so I will buy my glasses some where else. They talk to you about the prices for frames and glasses before exam. If you say you are not buying, then you cant do just exam. You cant do just eye exam???? This is soo stupid...

My first experience w Bowden Eye was spring of 2008. I had suffered a serious injury and two providers examined the eye and told me that the damage was too severe and they did not have the resources to treat me. I was referred to Dr Bowden. After several weeks of treatment and then a cornea transplant the eye was saved. Frank Bowden will always occupy a special place in my heart for that.Over the following 12 years I have been treated by Dr B and several members of his staff. From the front office, to the techs, to the other doctors on staff they have delivered consistently excellent care.I trust them with what I consider my most precious sense. My eyesight.

I had Intraocular lens put in both eyes during cataract surgery almost two years ago; everything went well with now problems. It corrected my far and mid range sight, I still need reading glasses for small print. Color is a lot better also. I started having glare from lights while driving at night. I went back for an office visit and I was told what was wrong, and scheduled a YAG laser procedure to correct it. I would like to say the staff at Bowden Eye is one of the best Ive seen. My last visit, I was talking to this young lady while she was examining my eyes about my back ground and where I came from. She seemed to enjoy it and told me a little about her back ground. This was my 1st visit with Dr Bowden who I thought was magnificent! He was very thorough with my eye exam, informative, pleasant, and extremely knowledgeable! His staff was great! Willow made me feel so comfortable with our conversation as well as the young man with the boot on his foot. He kept me in the loop while I waited for Dr Bowden. The optical department ladies were super friendly and gave me honest feedback on my choice of glasses. Overall, my experience makes me want to come back to this office and send others their way. Btw.... there is some waiting to time to see Dr Bowden but he’s well worth the wait!

Very professional and charismatic staff. This was my first visit and I dont think I could have picked a better place. They were able to see me (pun intended) the same day! Late on Friday afternoon I contacted the office on behalf of my dad. He had something in his eye. My dad was a NEW patient and the hour was late. The office staff were friendly and professional making an appointment right away. Dr. Bowden is the best of the best. My vision was about as bad as it gets. Near sighted, astigmatism. I have visited countless eye doctors and they all have me youre not a candidate for any type of vision correction. A friend recommended Dr. Bowden. Dr Bowden put together a plan for me in order to correct my vision. Here I am today a month after my last procedure and I can see better than 20/20. My quality of life has increased significantly and its all thanks to Dr. Bowden and staff. I see a lot of reviews about the cost and the wait time. Yes sometimes you have to wait a little longer than one would like and no they dont offer buy one get one free. At the end of the day you are born with two eyes and thats all you get. Ive always received outstanding patient care from Dr. Bowden and his staff. Dr.Bowden is the best. Hes professional and can be funny. He give me a lot of info on my eye issues and option thats available for my care. The staff is friendly and caring as well. Checking in and out is a breeze. I highly recommend Dr. Bowden office as your eye care needs.

The tech dilated my eyes then sat me down for the contact lens fitting and said I had to sign a contract agreeing to purchase a SIX month supply of lenses from the office ($300 worth) in order to proceed. I told them that was a big expense for me and I needed to think on it. They became frustrated and told me I had to call back within two days with a decision. I got home and found out about the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act, a federal law that prohibits practices from requiring a purchase of lenses. I called the office back and brought this up; they backpedaled and said that I only had to buy a months supply of lenses. Despite pointing out that this was still unethical, they were firm that it was their practices policy. Understandably, no other practice would accept their eye exam and just do a contact fitting. I had to file a grievance against Bowden Eye with my insurance to restore my benefits and pay for me to go somewhere else. At check-in they want your vision AND MEDICAL insurance cards in case they find a medical issue. Sorry, no... I will go see a medical doctor/ophthalmologist for medical issues. The doctor diagnosed me with dry eye disease and recommended I buy several products from them and return for a follow-up. Ive been examined by two other optometrists since and dont have any eye disease, lol. Nobody cleaned their hands or even wore gloves before poking around at my face.I ended up going to Walmart and had a great experience. I talked with the optometrist about what kind of lenses I wanted, she did the fitting, and I was sent home with free lenses to try for a week. When I returned for the follow-up they had a look at my eyes with the lenses in, confirmed they were working out, and sent me on my way with a prescription to fill anywhere I wanted.

After reminders & confirmations, I went for my appointment on Monday. There was a temperature check after you enter into the waiting area with, on this day 3 other people, 7 if you count the eye glass sales person & the receptionists. Everyone had on masks, & I assume temp. checks were okay. After waiting for 15 mins. with more people, I was called up to be told that this office no longer takes my vision insurance, but I could pay out of pocket. I asked when did this happen as I have been a patient there for 4 years ---- Answer:. February!! I had never been notified, & in all of my correspondence making & confirming my appointment was I notified!! I went by today to pick up my records -- at first I had been told it would be $1 per page. Well --- I lost it! Not a great way to support patients, especially as I had had several procedures done there. Oh by the way, I was told if I needed any medical procedures done, they would be glad to welcome me back for those, but all well visits would be out of pocket. I understand the struggles during Covid --- not of fan of their procedures as at my dental appointments, the hygenist comes to my car, checks my temp., & then the hygentist leads me to the room in which I will see the dentist & have all work done. That feels more proactive - even to get haircuts, the same procedure is followed as you wait outside until they are ready for you - limiting contact with other patients & the wait time in those settings. Anyway, maybe I fell through some loophole, but I did not appreciate the way a loyal customer was treated. In the meantime, I picked up my most recent records (no charge) at that office so I can share with my new eye doctor.

First we went to the wrong office! Oops! We would be late for our appointment and would have to cancel it...BUT...this office offered to work us in. It was so very thoughtful of them... AND... they made us a return-visit appointment at the other office! Wonderful experience with the staff and the Doctor who was very helpful with my problem and gave great advice.

Some doctors and their staffs are a lot less forthcoming. There are no surprises at Dr. Bowdens office. All my questions were answered from experience, and the doctor has a great reputation which I would like to reinforce. If youre looking for state-of-the-art eye care - this is where you want to come.

This does not deserve even one star. This company can not get my glasses fitted correctly. I have had nothing by headaches from the fittings/adjustments not even counting my time and gas to get there. Hours of operation are impossible to get to if you have a 8-5 schedule. I still need my glasses fixed and am out over $300. Aside from that they scared my into thinking I have glaucoma. After hundreds of dollars in tests, I am FINE. They just want the insurance money.

I have worn glasses since I was 9 and have never been as educated and as well served as I was at Bowden. The ophthalmologists took the time to explain everything to me. They also gave me advice on things to do to increase my comfort and general care of my eyes for the long term that I had never heard before. The staff was excellent and very accommodating making sure everything form picking out the right frames to billing went smoothly and did it all while dealing with my twin four year-olds running around. A+

Its always a very professional and pleasurable experience when I come here. Ashley and Armani are very professional and make the services here great every time I come back for follow ups.. And the Doctors and rest of the staff are great at what they do...

Honestly they are the worst. I went for the first time 2 years ago and the doctor was great. However, they called we every week for 6 months straight I eventually had to get upset to get them to stop.Two years later, I thought give them another try and they want to book me as a medical condition!? All because they want to charge me more money! I dont have a medical condition. I never even got glasses 2 years ago! I asked for a manager, waited 10 minutes and then they hung up on me. Seriously the worst, go anywhere but to Bowden.

The customer service was really great. It was my 1st time there and I loved it. Armani (I hope I spelled that right) was really great. We were trying on different frames for an hr because Im indecisive. She loved it. The front desk admin Kendra was awesome.

Went to my annual eye check up with my daughter. Friendly staff, i filled out paperwork. While i waited for my appointment to start, I checked with the opticians on how much my insurance covered on the frames, pre selected 2 to frames in my budget and the selected the one I liked the best my daughter did the same. Appointment flew through, since she and i did not have to get our eyes dilated. They have a new machine that takes a picture of the back of your eye. some insurance may not cover the whole amount. I paid the difference, took the frames over to the opticians and we will have new glasses in less than 10 working days. See you all next year.

Bowden Eye Associates is the best place to go for eye wear and eye care! From the front desk people to the the doctor s assistants to the great doctors (I see Dr. Darbandi) They are the absolute best! We drive an hour and a half to see them, thats how great they are! I appreciate everything about them. Dr. Bowden gave me my sight back and for that I eWill be forever grateful!!!

The staff is friendly and efficient. This was my first eye exam in years and the staff was very helpful and patient with me. Dr. Kovacs was personable and thorough in my exam. She was also patient with me and answered all of my questions. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. I will absolutely be recommending Bowden Eye Associates to others.

Dr. Bowden and the entire staff, Rodney, Hillary, Heather, Georgia and everyone , take such good care of you from the initial consultation, thru the pre-op and post-op and the follow-ups, they actually call you after each visit, just to see how you are doing. Amazing staff and everyone is so nice. Would recommend to everyone

I have been to the Bonneval office 4 times in the last 2-3 months and each visit has been friendly, professional and productive. The entire staff that we had contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. Each seemed well trained and very professional. My wife and I both use Bowden for all our eye-health needs and could not be more pleased with the treatment, doctors and staff.

Excellent! The staff are all friendly, efficient and caring. Equipment and facilities are first rate. Outstanding resolution to a very complicated issue with my eye. Saying I am pleased is really an understatement.

I had a great experience at Bowden Eye. I just went in for an eye exam and prescription change and everyone was so helpful and professional. Dr. Kovacs was so thorough and took the time to explain everything she was doing to make sure I was comfortable. When it was time to pick out new glasses, Hope worked with me for over an hour to decide which ones worked best for me. They truly care about ALL of their patients. Would recommend to anyone in need of eye care
