I absolutely love Dr.Salas and his entire staff, I have been a patient for over 6 years and counting. Its such a great team, always inviting extremely clean and very knowledgeable about your dental care and insurance coverage. Catalina one of the front desk rep is a total gem 💕 along with the entire crew. (Including the general dental side) I have referred all most all of my co workers at Texas Childrens Hospital and half of my family. City Smiles dental is A#1.

I debated quite a while about whether or not this review was worth my time. (Im not one to leave bad reviews, check my profile.)The only reason Im writing it now is in hopes the office manager and staff acknowledge the truth and recognize the wrong done.Late July 2021, my husband and I first visited this office.The first thing that really upset me: Even though I disclosed in my paperwork that I may be pregnant (with my first EVER pregnancy), I had to stop the x-ray technician after she draped an iron apron over me to ask her if an x-ray was advisable since I could be pregnant...this was probably the moment my trust for this office sailed out the window, but I knew I was probably being hormonal so I tried to let it go.At this first appointment, my husband was told he needed a deep cleaning. Less than a week later I called our insurance to ensure this deep cleaning will be covered. I find out they need two things in order to pre-approve the deep cleaning--his x-rays and periodontal chart.I then call the CitySmiles office and tell them what I needed.At first, the office admin tells me she cant release anything to me. I assure her my husband filled out the proper forms, so she can legally release his documents to me. She then tells me she cant because her billing department was out. l told her I couldnt see why that would prevent her from sending documents that Ill legally entitled to obtain. She informs me she has access to his x-rays, but a periodontal chart wasnt made so she cant send that to me. I asked her why it wasn’t made and she told me its because they need to do the deep cleaning before they can fill out his periodontal chart.As you can imagine, Im very frustrated at this point. I need both the x-rays and the periodontal chart in order to get deep cleaning approval from the insurance, but theyre telling me they can’t complete the periodontal chart without first conducting the deep cleaning.I say to her, “I’m trying to get this all taken care of and I feel like I’m trudging through mud here. Help me help you so that my husband can get his dental work done and you guys can get paid!”I never once used any sort of profanity, called her any names, or directed any aggression toward her--maybe the situation (understandably), but not her.She quickly informed me that she would send his x-rays to his email, said thanks and hung up on me.But heres the most upsetting thing...My husband informs me half an hour later that he had just gotten off the phone with the office manager of CitySmiles.She told him that she’d never had to do this” but that they were refusing to render service to me (his wife) because of the way I spoke to her office staff. She told him there were things I said “she didn’t even want to repeat.” They also told him that he was more than welcome to continue coming but they would no longer be able serve me. He told her her assertions didn’t sound like me at all and it was ridiculous for them to think he would continue doing business with them after what they said about me.I sobbed when he told me this. I was so hurt that someone could make such false claims about me to my husband behind my back. That’s definitely a new level of disrespect I never felt before.Anyway, weve since found a new lovely dentist, but I still felt like the truth needed to be told-- Perhaps if only for the purpose of the manager seeing it and realizing maybe she was deceived by what was told to her.

Every member of the staff was courteous and welcoming. Dr. Salas did a great job of giving us all all what we need to know so we can make an informed decision. Highly recommend !

I really don’t know the name of the woman doctor who did my filling that spoke Portuguese but I can only say that I’ve always felt pain when going to the dentist but this is by far the most relaxing experience I’ve ever had at the dentist. No pain injection, no pain during the procedure or after. I would recommend 100%. Not changing dentist anymore🤩

VERY VERY unpleasant experience. I DO NOT recommend this placeI came here to get my wisdom teeth removed (upper right and upper left) they recommended deep cleaning and I said yesFirst visit:Left upper and lower deep cleaning and upper left wisdom teeth removal Went fine no issues with Dr. Labreia Moore. I liked the way she treated me (reassuring).Scheduled an appointment after 2 weeksSecond visit:Showed up at the second visit all of a sudden doctor Dr. Maria Amelia Garrone showed up and said today Im going to be your doctor. (Cindy or none of the staff members told me that they changed my doctor before my appointment) I was confused, I took 4hrs off from my work just for this tooth to be extracted due to pain, so I decided to go ahead.She poked me 6 times to give anesthesia. (First visit Dr. Moore poked me for 2 times) so this got me nervous, so they checked my BP and it went up by 12 points I believe. Dr. Maria said your BP was okay we can continue.I dont know if she had any idea or she checked any of my previous scans or X-rays. I never saw her looking at them in front of me. I dont know how she is going to do a deep cleaning without knowing where to clean and what teeth have food particles left. She doesnt know anything about my first visit or the history. I am not sure how City Smiles Dental And Orthodontics can allow doctors to treat their patients without letting them know about the patients history.After the deep cleaning, She poked me 4 more times to give more anesthesia for tooth extraction. She was really struggling to get it out, extraction process took more than 20 min she had to give more anesthesia. And at the end she cant pull it out completely she cut my gum and had to do the stitches. It was bleeding the whole day.Claudia Salas is very rude. When I shared my experience with her, Instead of fixing the issues, She didnt even care and said you can go somewhere else how rude. I wonder how they have these many good reviews maybe because of Dr. Labreia Moore or some free gift cards.

I’ve been searching for the perfect orthodontist and i was told about City Smiles. On the day of my consultation, i was quoted a reasonable price for braces and they were able to put them on that day. They were very efficient and they staff there are very professional and pleasant to work with. I’m super happy with Dr. Salas and the team he works with. I 100% recommend!!

We found this place by zip code and Im so happy we did. City smiles is awesome. Doctors are very knowledgeable and kind. They have awesome ortho plans for braces. They serve kids as young as 6 month. My all 3 children and I very pleased with City Smile 😃

Amazing customer service!! My mom fell down and hurt her teeth and gums and they helped her with a last minute appointment. After the appointment my mom came out and said she wanted Dr. Moore to be her permanent dentist because she was so nice and attentive. OMG nothing enough to be said about this place and this team of people. They are so amazing and all seem so knowledgeable. I went there to have someone look at my braces that I had done by a dumb doctor in Maine and he really messed them up terribly. Doctor salas was the one helping me and he is honestly amazing, he made me feel comfortable and was very kind during the entire process. There office is clean and they work as a team. Please give this place a try they’re amazing and I can’t wait for the results of my braces journey!

I attended to Dr. Salas’ office when I was in desperate need to find a reliable orthodontist. I began my treatment at another dentistry where my treatment could not be completed due to their orthodontist quitting. That’s when I came to City Smile Dental and found how amazing and professional the doctor and the staff was. They immediately looked at my teeth and listened to what I had to say. The doctor told me exactly how long my treatment would take and throughout the entire 18 months everyone was so helpful, accommodating & friendly! I am beyond happy for my teeth, as they truly boosted my confidence! I recommend Dr. Salas to EVERYONE!

No doubt the staffs are great but my dental experience hasnt. I had my wisdom tooth (2) extraction in June and later got to find out I had some fragments left; no X-ray was done after the extraction knowing fully well it was a difficult one. Unfortunately, I am still experiencing pain all around my molars/premolars. I have been back twice but I am told not to worry that my teeth looks good and the pain might be from flossing. FYI-This review is not to discredit anyone however I believe the dentist should have done an Xray after the difficult procedure - that was just pure negligence. Now am worried about going for another procedure to open the wisdom tooth site because thats close to the nerve which might cause another problem am not ready for.Also, I had my teeth cleaned in May but that was also rushed.

This Dental/Ortho office is NOTHING like i had in mind. The inside is extremely upscale and modern. Even the waiting are has some really nice chairs that look like artwork. I was very shocked to when I went to the back and saw sliding barn doors for the exam rooms! Very very nice and clean! On top of that, Dr. Salas and his staff are extremely nice and friendly. Everything combined, makes going there an actual enjoyable experience! Much different from my previous dental experiences!5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!👍 👍

Awesome service!! Today was my 3 daughters first visit. As soon as I walked in Marina and Carolina were very attentive and welcoming. Youre better off going to another Dentist than this one. Honestly awful, and the clerks never seem to be able to do their job right, much less give you an accurate balance due, or filing their paperwork correctly and filing proper claims! Big headache. Ive been going to this dental clinic for the last two years and I have to say, without a doubt, that it is the best dental clinic Ive been to. I will say that no one enjoys going to the dentist. Lets get that straight and up front, but if you do have to go to the dentist, this is the place to go to. Why, you ask? Ill tell you. The fact that they have the friendliest people at the front counter that make you feel welcomed and not intimidated. The person that comes to mind is Karolina. This one girl is so kind and warm, that its actually a pleasure to talk to her. Another pleasant individual that makes the experience here a memorable one is the dental assistant Claudia. Thisll girl Claudia took the time to talk to my son and make him feel at ease while going through his dental procedure. She also took the time to talk to me and explain what the process was, and what to expect. She was the highlight of my trip to this clinic! I cannot say enough good things about this dental clinic. The orthodontist, Gustavo Salas, is second to none. His level of expertise inspires confidence in his patients. He is also patient, and has a good understanding of how to make a patient feel at ease. I totally recommend coming to this clinic as they will make your worries melt away, all the while taking good care of your teeth.

Because I am new to Houston and have had the same dentist in Maryland since I was teething, I was very nervous to branch off to a new dentist. That fear changed the moment I was introduced to this office. From the very pleasant and bubbly desk clerk, Marina, to the dentist professionalism and awesome conversations while operating on me, they made me feel very comfortable. They even managed to squeeze me in at the very last minute during he holiday season when everyone needed to use their benefits before they lost them. They give me courtesy calls as reminders for my appointments, they explain to me the process of the next step so I don’t feel unknowledgeable about what’s going on in my mouth, they constantly asked about my new little bundle of joy at home and love to see pictures, this office has become like family just from our 2 encounters. I just finished my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Salas and I couldnt be happier. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and nice. The office staff is so friendly and welcoming. I love that everybody knew me and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. The whole team at Dr. Salas office is super friendly and helpful, I was 27 when I decided to get braces and they have made this scary and painful process bearable. I also like that they provide payment plans to make the cost affordable, and work with my schedule to do my appointments; I would recommend them to anyone trying to get braces.

During our follow up visit for my daughters braces I asked the lady at the front desk about our final balance due. They never seem to have it correct. The lady at the front said she fixed it, but it still didnt match what we showed to be the final balance. She sat there for a while trying to figure it out then she made a comment to the lady sitting next to her (who was the Drs wife) Then, the Drs wife started talking to her in Spanish. I could tell by the way the first lady was holding our paperwork and the way the Drs wife looked at it as she was rambling on that they were talking about our file. So, I asked them to please not speak in Spanish about MY stuff when I am standing right here. I mean, how F******* RUDE can you be to your own customer???? So then the Drs wife sternly said, IM not talking to you! (Again...to the person who is paying them $4,000) As it escalated, the Drs wife aggressively informed me that she was the Drs wife...like I was supposed to bow down and respect her or something....I told her, I dont care who you are!!! So then I went and told the Dr. about this. He walked up to the front, meekly, and asked whats going on.....by that time the first lady was telling me - quite loudly - , I can speak Spanish when ever I want!!! Then the Dr. left to go in the back. He didnt say a word to either of them. It seemed as though he had his tail between his legs and his wife runs the place. I have never seen a more RUDE display of customer service in my life. Unfortunately we need to finish the next three months until she gets her braces off, but it doesnt go without saying, if you need braces or any services they offer...RUN! Find another place to do business. Especially if you dont want RUDE ladies speaking Spanish about you while you are standing right there.

I have nothing but great things to say about everyone and the super great work they do at city smiles. I was looking for Invisalign treatment and was recommended here by my sister in law. After seeing a few other places prior to this one, there was no doubt in my mind to go with city smiles. They make you feel right at home, Dr. Salas is just a dear and always so nice, he is VERY knowledgeable on what he’s doing, and haven’t had any issues with anything whatsoever in the entire year that I’ve been seeing them. Now that my Invisalign is approaching it’s ending stages, I am in awe how much my teeth have changed for the better. I have a crooked jaw, had an overbite, and had embarrassing crowding in my front top teeth. With Dr. Sala’s skills and talent he was able to fix all this, and I am just THRILLED to see the final results! Invisalign and city smiles are just incredible!

Fyi EVERY good review is bought with gift cards. My 5 year old son had three visits here. The first went good because it was just assessment and xrays. The second went great only because the assistant was awesome...the third time was a nightmare very unprofessional and sad for my son ! The dentist Rodriguez is not experienced enough to be working on patients. They had us arrive an hour early for our appointment to have more time to work on my son and we arrived at the same time as all of them they were literally unlocking the door... Which should have been a sign for me that the appointment was not going to go well. Dr. Rodriguez probably was barely awake and didnt have the room prepared for my son. He did not let the numbing gel sit for even one minute before he started giving the shots which made my son upset mind you his first appointment went amazingly my son sat still the entire time with no sedation other than gas he kept saying he was his favorite patient over and over so it was not my son being uncooperative. The dental assistant for his first appointment was a woman with blonde hair who was awesome she was very attentive and even had to tell dr. Rodriguez how to do certain things when he was making mistakes? The second visit it was a male assistant and he wasnt even suctioning my sons mouth my son kept gagging and the dentist even drilled into his gum causing him to bleed profusely the assistant still was not suctioning his mouth properly, the tubes on his gas mask came off twice and nobody noticed except for me I was pretty much assisting them because they were so incompetent.. this might be a good place for adults but not for children even if yours are as Cooperative as mine I will never be back here.

This is an excellent Ortodontics and dentist place!!Dr. Salas is very knowledgeable, I had my Ortodontic treatment done in here and it was a great experience. All the staff members, office managers and assistants are very cordial, knowledgeable amd friendly . Ms Claudia and Ms Carolina go above and beyond to work with your insurance and to give you a great price!Another great fact is that they have an immense network and knowledge of diferent great doctors around Houston and surrounding areas so if you go there and you are also looking for a different specialist ask Dr Salas!My procedure was spotless, Dr. Salas gave me the time frame and it was right on.Highly recommended!
