While in town visiting my brother, I started having issues with my left eye. After contacting them, they were able to work me into their schedule within a few hours. The doctor did a thorough eye examination and a great job explaining and caring for my condition. She was a true professional in every way and I would not hesitate to recommend this office to friends and family.

Attentive, kind staff! Dr Chiranand was so warm and detail-oriented. I really appreciated the thought and time she put into making sure I had the right prescription!

Horrible experience here. Not only are the staff very rude, they don’t know how to help patients. Staff also didn’t know how to explain insurance benefits. Most of the exam is done by the front desk receptionist. They take you in the back and do more than half of the exam. Then the doctor comes in for two minutes. Worst part was the Doctor gave me the wrong prescription. When I said I couldn’t see with the new prescription she said I was being rude and to go somewhere else. Avoid at all costs, there are many other optometrists who care about the well being of their patients.

Had the best experience with avant-garde. The staff was joyous and helpful during my entire experience. Staff kept a nice flow of friendly conversation the entire time I was in and made me feel at home. Dr. Yee did a great job of explaining the changes of my prescription and why she was fitting me with certain contacts in order to find the most comfortable fit. The staff did an amazing job on letting me try on multiple frames and fit me into these beauties that I finally picked up today. I live all the way across town it was worth the drive for the joyous experience!

The front desk girls are so rude they should look for other jobs. The young doctor covering for the doctor while she travels the world was totally inexperienced and clueless. She did not know how to use the computer and do the eye exam. She wanted me to agree with all she was saying. They push services on you and over price everything. Run!

Avoid them if you can! The front desk was rude and very unprofessional. When I had questions about my insurance, they kept repeating the same answer expecting me to understand. Couldn’t even have a conversation with them because they talked over you. Ended up calling my insurance so I could go somewhere else.

The doctor was very thorough and knowledgeable. She explained everything in great detail. Probably the best eye appointment I have ever had.

We can’t say enough good about this place. They deserve 10 stars. Dr. Yee is knowledgeable and thorough in her exam. Special shout out to Anastasia who not only helped us find the right frames, but also fitted us perfectly and was very knowledgeable about insurance. A great staff! Don’t be fooled by the aesthetics of the office. Inside is horrible with disrespectful and incompetent office staff. Go anywhere else for a real eye exam and better customer service.

The level of service I received is second to none! The office is conveniently located, and the staff are the most courteous, professional, and engaging people! I love the fact they have so many designer frames from which to choose! Ive found my Optometrist!!!

When we checked in, my husband and I were the only patients, so it wasnt like they were busy. They were just sitting with no other patients. Jamie (the optometrist) simply rushed us during our eye check up. Firstly, she/her staff forced me and my husband in doing an eye test that is not covered by insurance, she did not even bother to explain what she was doing, why she was doing it. I had to stop her couple of times and ask her as I prefer to be well-informed of proceedings, she again did not explain what this eye test was for, and after asking her couple of times again, she disclosed that my insurance does not cover this particular test and it will cost me $ 39 - NO prior written consent, neither prior verbal mentioning of this eye test, nor prior mentioning of the extra cost of $ 39 - simply just do it without patient being aware of it. Once I declined to do $39 test, she did some visual field test (that costs $20, once again, she told me that my insurance does not cover it. As far as I know, visual field test is a part of any routine eye check up examination. I have been going to Optometrist for last 10 years and I was never ever charged $20 fee for visual field test. Once again, unprofessional and very unethical way of making extra money). Luckily, my husband figured this by the time I was done and my husband declined to do any so made up tests that is not covered by my insurance and thats not a part of routine eye check up. Then again, my husband was rushed by Jamie. For eye prescription check up, she just kept rushing us, my husband questioned her that hes not able to see anything as the prescription determining instrument was not positioned (set up) appropriately, Jamies reply was, yes, its a new technology and it just works like that. Dont worry. and she took about 2-3 minutes to give a eye prescription in our hands. I am hoping that our eye prescriptions are accurate and worth wearing for the whole year; or else Jamie, be prepared for trouble. It seemed as if it is all about money for them, patient care is the least among their priority. I hope Jamie is qualified enough to do what she is doing. Not thorough, not professional, not considerate in her approach, felt like we went to Cicis pizza or Little Caesars with an expectation of CPK. I Will never ever recommend anyone to visit you. You lost your neighbors business permanently.

I have been coming to Dr. Yee since she opened her practice and have no regrets. I have Chronic Dry Eye Syndrome, and thought my days of wearing contacts over, but Dr. Yee correctly identified the culprit and prescribed some eye drops that make it manageable.In addition to being knowledgeable, Dr. Yee is also very personable and cares for her patients. Added bonus, she has the most stylish eyewear inventory around. Will be a lifelong patient.

Recently I went to get my eye exam and I was impressed by how fast I was in and out. The doctor was friendly and gave me a lot of information which was awesome. I had Martha help with with my lenses and she made the process easy and explained all my lens options based on my visual needs. Would recommend 👍👍

The ladies at the front were very friendly and polite. They made sure the room was completely sanitized before I went in. Dr. Jaime was very attentive and explained everything so that way I could understand what was going on with my eyes. I came in for a contacts appointment because my contacts were irritating my eyes so I wanted to switch brands. Turns out I had an infection in my eyes that no other eye doctor has bothered to explain to me. Jaime prescribed me 3 different eyedrops to get it cleared up without scarring. I would highly recommend this place. And if that wasn’t enough they have a sign that says ‘Walkens welcome’ with a picture of Christopher Walken. So obviously they also have humor.

Dr. Yee gave a concise and precise exam. Marth took good care of me before and after the exam. They both gave all the time and attention I wanted and needed.

Had a great experience for the past year until I recently ordered colored contacts. I’ve had contacts and glasses with no problem. I opened the first pair of colored contacts to use it and couldnt see with them. That’s not my fault being prescribed something I can’t even use. They wouldn’t allow me to return or give me credit for regular contacts. Spend over $200 for nothing. Don’t ever get colored contacts through them, they won’t warn you.

As always, the service is impeccable. Anastasia was wonderful to work with and Dr. Yee made the whole process fun and entertaining and was as personable as ever. I look forward to my visits at Avant-Garde Optometry.

This is the BEST optometry clinic Ive ever been to. The staff was professional, courteous & knowledgeable! After dealing with a day of severe eye pain, I decided to call Avant Garde Optometry to have it checked out. They were able to get me in quickly!! Dr. Yee and her team performed a thorough examination. (I’m usually very nervous about getting my eyes checked, but Avant Garde uses state-of-the-art technology to make the exam process easy & painless) The doctor explained my problem and treatment plan thoroughly & took time to answer all of my questions about the medication she prescribed. Top notch service and selection! I came in a few weeks ago to get my eyes checked and possibly get some new glasses. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff helped me as soon as I walked in the door. They showed me different styles of glasses that I wouldnt have normally picked for myself but ended up loving what they suggested. I was extremely overdue for an eye exam and my regular optometrist was fully booked so I found Avant-Garde. I was thrilled how quickly Dr. Yee could see me. Anastasiia was very thorough in going over my Eyemed benefits and let me know all the copays up front. I found Dr. Yee to be very professional and extremely informative. She told me more about my eyes than my previous optometrist had ever done. After the exam, Martha helped me pick out a pair of prescription Rudy Project sunglasses. I do Ironmans and Ive been looking for polarized athletic wear. I got my sunglasses back within 5 days and was very pleased. I had a great experience and loved the staff. I will definitely be back.

Two thumbs up for the entire staff from the Optometrist to the front desk. I was in and out in an hour as a walk-in. Dr.Jamie Yee has a great personality and made me feel at ease. Shes the only Optometrist that has ever given me detailed results of my eye exam and proposed a plan to correct my vision. Anastasia was very easy to work with selecting my new frames. I have had eye problems for years. Doctor Yee is the best optometrist I have been to. Knowledgeable and very honest. The new lenses she prescribed for me are a lifesaver. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Dr. Yee spent less time examining my eyes than any optometrist I have ever been to. As a result, I could not see out of the prescription. Martha said, It will take a couple of weeks to get used to. I returned to change my frames because they would not stay on my face, but I told Martha I would continue until I had worn them two weeks to see if they got better. By this time, I had a useless pair of glasses for a month. When I couldnt read street signs, I knew they were not right, so I made an appointment to go back, which was two weeks later because Dr. Yee was out of town. When I went back, I said I had no confidence in Dr. Yee, and wanted to know if I went to my ophthalmologist and got a different prescription if she would give me a new pair for what I had already paid, which was almost $1,000. Dr. Yee was the rudest professional I have ever encountered. She crossed her arms in a combative stance, and told me she would not give me another pair of glasses because it had been several months. (It had been less than 8 weeks of trying to fix the problem). She then disappeared to the back of the store and I never saw her again. I got a refund for the frames and was out the cost of the lens, over $400. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. AVOID THIS PLACE!!

I recently moved to the Frisco area the beginning of December, so I was on the hunt for a new optometrist out this way and I stumbled upon Avant-Garde. I had an appointment with Dr. Yee on December 31, 2019 and it was very good experience. Dr. Yee is very knowledgeable, personable, and patient. I didnt feel rushed, I could tell she truly cared about my concerns and wanted to make sure I received the best service. The front desk staff were very attentative and kind. The young lady who helped me pick out my glasses was phenomenal. I cant remember her name but I know she was wearing these dope black Gucci glasses :) The selection of glasses is crazy and they have all of the brand name/label designer frames which was a plus. I am so excited to pick up my glasses and I already got my contacts, which they mailed to me! You cant go wrong if you go to Avant-Garde!!!

What a wonderful experience; I didn’t feel rushed at any point during the exam, frame selection or fitting. I feel like I was provided with frame options that were tailored towards me, with a wide range of pricing (not just the expensive ones) taking into account when and how I wear my glasses. In short, I went for the exam and stayed for the experience.

Ive passed this place many times while visiting Rockfish which is right next door. I decided to drop in to look at frames for my son who wanted a different style. When I first walked in I was greeted by two kind receptionist, both offered to help pick out frames for my son based on his preferences. They were very patient with my little one who wanted to try on all the frames, but didnt want to have his eyes examined. We were able to schedule an appointment with ease so that both boys could have their eyes examined. The lobby was clean and welcoming. There were bottles of water, Swiss and German chocolate to enjoy while you wait.During the appointment Dr. Yee took the time to explain the results from the eye exams. She is very knowledgeable and offered suggestions on how to maintain the health of our eyes. When I returned to pick up my sons glasses I was given a gift bag with glasses and eyeglass cleaning solution inside, that was a nice touch! We will definitely be back next year!

This was our second annual check with Dr Jamie Yee at Avent-Garde Optometry. The ladies at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate three of us when we needed to change our appointments so everyone can go together. Dr Yee is great. She explains everything to us so we understand what we are litterally looking at! She recommends things to us; but never tries to hard sell us on any of the prescription lens or frames (like other places)! Very easy to work with! We highly recommend Dr Yee and her staff!

I found avant-garde optometry to be very clean and inviting. Its the only medical office that has the same feel as a spa. It has very unique and hard to find frames. This is definitely a step up from the average optometry practice.
