Dr. Edwards was fantastic in a recent emergency. While on vacation, our son broke a tooth and needed an extraction. We found PDF on Google and left a message with the emergency service, not sure if they would just call back a non-patient. Dr. Edwards not only called back but reviewed photos, provided advice, and scheduled us for an appointment the next morning. At the office, the staff was just as great as the doc. It was a bit of a tough job as my kid ended up having 3 teeth removed. Dr Justin was really GREAT with him and they got the job done as quickly as possible. And for all that, we were hit with a bill that was way more reasonable than we anticipated. If I lived near Fredericksburg, we’d switch dentists immediately!

I can only rate 4 stars because I have not even entered their office. I am astounded by the people who answer the phones that took the time and care to provide their knowledge/support to make the initial process smooth!

The staff here are phenomenal. So friendly and kind. Great at working with kids of all ages and temperaments. One day we came in for an urgent visit, and not only did they squeeze us in at the end of their working day, but also made a phone call for me to my daughters orthodontist to make sure they had availability so my daughter could be seen there since her pain was coming from her appliance not a tooth issue. We have seen both Dr. Edwards and Dr. Musselwhite and they were both wonderful with all 3 of my kids. They also called a couple of days later to check on her. It’s an office that really cares about their kiddos.

We started off with a different dentist office for my daughter, and she was uncomfortable and nervous at every visit. We we’re worked in for a next day appointment to evaluate possible cavities, even though we are new to the practice. Carolyn at the front desk was SO friendly on the phone and welcoming at the appointment!Our hygienist was super friendly, professional, and made my 6 year old feel comfortable. Then we met Dr. Joey, and he was phenomenal. He came in friendly, made a point to speak to my daughter, talked to her about her summer and then moved onto checking her teeth, and he took the time to explain to her what they were doing, instead of just going through me. I’m positive that there isn’t a better office than this one! We can’t wait for our next visit, and to bring my 3 year old.

This is a wonderful practice to work with. My daughter has had cleanings and other work here and theyve always done a fabulous job. The staff are excellent with kids and the dentists do a fabulous job of explaining any procedures needed. Id definitely recommend them to parents of the Fredericksburg area and beyond.

I was really nervous when moving here and having to change from our regular dentist. Especially with my son being autistic. We had a great experience, everyone was very nice and professional. I am so glad we have a dentist we can trust with our little ones.

One of the BEST pediatric dentistry I’ve ever been. I myself had a good experience as a child elsewhere but never this superb for my daughter’s second appointment. Her first apt was from Progressive Dental, however our family is happy to be a part of this dentistry. Dr. Edwards was very nice and definitely made my 2 year old happy with her first visit with him! Also being hearing impaired myself I’m very thankful for the wonderful staff’s willingness to make sure I understood everything! I cannot tell you enough how happy I was with our first apt here!

I brought 3 small children at the same time and they did an amazing job. My oldest is autistic and they handled it with so much care I’ll definitely be back !

My 9 year old needed a tooth extraction as part of a plan in her orthodontic treatment. The Ortho recommended we go to see this particular dentist. I am so glad that he did because it was a breeze! I was anticipating my child freaking out but that wasnt the case at all!! I explained to the office that my child might be difficult because she cant even handle getting a shot or having her blood drawn, so it was a possibility that she might panic. I asked if they had gas and would be able to use it during the procedure and they told me; yes and not to worry. I showed up with all my kids in tow and even so, it wasnt a problem. She was immediately seen. I was allowed to be with her in the room during the Covid19 lockdown. The Dr. had a way with kids and it reflected in the way that he talked my daughter through the process. My daughter didnt panic, didnt feel a thing and when it was all over she had no complaints. I had to give her OTC pain meds for 2 days and keep the hole clean during the healing period. I was very pleased with the experience and plan on returning for all my kids dental care.

I scheduled an Appointment for my 6 year old son to have a small surgery. one day before the appointment (4/29) the front desk lady called me and told me that DR Joe had a family emergency and he wasn’t going to be able to be there and that We needed to reschedule, she told me that she was going to call me back to schedule my son’s appointment, but that never happened, she never called back, after 3 weeks (5/20) of waiting, I called them to find out what happened with the appointment, and to let them know that my son was in a lot of pain and he needed to be seen right away and she told me that the earliest appointment they has is mid July. I told them that my son was in severe pain and he couldn’t wait until July, she puts me on hold for a few minutes and then she come back to the phone and told me that the DR said that we needed to wait until July, I asked her if she told the Doctor that my son was in a lot of pain and that his gum was very swollen and she said that she did, but he did not wanted to see him until July, because We missed an appointment previously. (we missed that appointment because we were exposed to Covid, and I called and told them) my son was Denied service from doctor Joe. this is neglect, I will report him to the board for denying service to my child.

Upon entering this building to take my son to the dentist. Wonderful memories came back. When I was a little girl I use to see Dr. Painter, who was my favorite doctor ever. He treated us good and I wasnt afraid of him. He was awesome and you could tell he was a great guy. So when I went in and Dr. Joey came in I could immediately tell that the love and spirit of Dr. Painter was still there. Dr. Joey carries that same spirit and you can tell. My son did great. He spoke to him and my husband as if we were family. The appointment was a success with a 1 year old boy..Thank you all for everything....The nurses and entire staff were full of love..its like a reincarnation of Dr. Painter and his team❤

The staff at Pediatric Dentistry of Fredericksburg was so prompt and polite. Mrs. Charlie was so sweet. Dr. Edwards was an amazing dentist with excellent bedside manners. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure my 6 week old baby was cared for. I recommend them 12 out of 10!

My son chipped three of his teeth on a Friday and had been acting like it hurt so I called around on Monday morning and even though they were booked, they fit me in! They were all super nice and made my son comfortable for his first visit!

Dr. Edwards is incredibly kind and patient. We’ve been seeing doctor Edwards for about 5 years and we’ve had consistently great experiences; from cleanings to fillings, there’s not been a single time that Dr. Edwards was not willing to work hard to make my son feel more comfortable. The addition of Dr. Joey was also a great move. I recommend their practice to all the parents I know.Update: we had a new Dentist this visit, Dr. Andrew Lusk. He was efficient and thorough! We also LOVED our dental Assistant, Helena. Everyone here is kind and makes the experience enjoyable!

The office manager of this practice, Suzanne, is unprofessional, immature, and disrespectful towards customers as well as staff. The high turnover in staff should be an eye opener to Dr. Edwards.

Leaving another review because of how happy I was with the practice today for my sons appointment. My sons appointment was at 2:00pm and I thought it was at 1:00pm, still with showing up early, the employees accommodated us. Dr. Edwards was very patient as well and personable. After leaving a different dental office in tears over terrible customer service and tbe dentist there making me leave in tears over my 5year old son because he was rude and just wanting to pull my sons teeth instead of fix my sons teeth and being charged adult pricing because the other office did not get the correct charges with my sons insurance, I called this office. Heather scheduled me the very next day even with my son being a new patient and was very patient with me and understanding and compassionate over what i had previously dealt with! The nurse Charlene was incredible with my anxious son and so very patient! Dr. Edwards took time with us, so great with my son and took the time to explain things to me and agreed to do everything he can to fix my sons teeth and not just pull them out as well as took time to put a protective coating on my sons teeth to prevent them from getting any worse until we get them fixed! Carolyn, was so wonderful from getting the correct charges after personally calling the insurance company and get a complete correct list of out if pocket charges for me, she took time over the phone with me to break everything down in detail with what was needed and the cost for each tooth! Suzanne, was so helpful over the phone as I called and she took time to go over the complete total cost for my sons teeth and broke down anesthesia costs as well as giving me every detail in what to expect the day my son goes in for his appointment from when he gets there to the time he leaves and scheduled my sons appointment for the closest appointment date possible!! I am so appreciative of everyone in this office! The compassion and the patience that this staff has is one of a kind, they are all simply incredible and I cannot wait until my sons appointment! I will highky recommend them to anyone! I cannot thank this staff enough!!

We had a great experience. It was my daughters first appointment. The staff was wonderful. They treated her well. They were gentle, kind and understanding. I made an appointment for my other daughter that day. We will definitely be using them for all of our pediatric dental needs.

My son is very weary of people poking around in his mouth. We had a consult for a possible cavity. They did a great job of keeping him calm and let him pick a few toys from the treasure chest. He seems eager to go back.

Very welcoming and a kind receptionist during our appointment.Very engaging and kid friendly. My son who is 2.5 years old, has never visited the dentist. I just took my 2yr old for her first checkup. I have to say i was nervous of how she would do but the staff made her so comfortable, and kept her entertained. I could tell my daughter was happy and she said she had so much fun at the dentist. I recommend anyone with children give this place a try. They are awesome!!

A really wonderful place to take kids to the dentist. They make it fun and much less scary. They explain everything to the kids before they do the procedures. My four-year-old (who has special needs) actually kept her mouth open of her own free will during the exam, which she has never done at the dentist. Everyone there is very friendly, and the waiting room has lots of toys for kids to play with. I highly recommend!

This place is the best, we’ve tried a few pediatric dentists, but nothing compares to this place. Everyone is so understanding and great with kids. We won’t go anywhere else!

Everyone and everything about our visit was beyond expectation! The paperwork was painless and simple, the hygienist was super sweet and made my 5 year old feel like a princess, the doctor was great and explained everything. My daughter is 19 months old and had her first dentist appointment here today. I was a little nervous on how it was going to go because she does not like to be still. The receptionist was so sweet and assured me she’d do just fine. The hygienist was very funny and nice. Dr. Joey did the exam. He was awesome! He was very soft spoken and explained what he was doing while doing it. He showed me a super easy way to brush my daughters teeth. My daughter didn’t even cry! She just whined a little because she was mad she was having to stay still. I highly recommend this office!

Absolutely loved this place. I am a mother of 4 children. My daughter hit her mouth was in pain and swollen gums, I called many places no one could get her in. Pediatric dentistry of Fredericksburg response was how far away are you? When can you get here? While I’m talking to the dentist they assisted with my other children. I have been to other dentists but this place went above and beyond. The dentist was very friendly, professional and really good with kids. I highly recommend them. My youngest is 16 months and oldest 10 years old. I’ll be taking all my kids here :)

I cannot say enough good things about this practice and Dr. Joey! My 5 year old needed some extensive work done requiring anesthesia and the entire office was great from beginning to end. They made him and I both completely comfortable, the front office staff were great about managing the insurance side of things, and we had a flawless experience with the procedure and follow up care. They even saw him without an appointment for a quick check when we suspected an infection. Hands down the best medical/dental experience I’ve ever had for myself or my child. So happy several coworkers referred us to this practice and now I see why!!

After 2 years of going to PDF for her dental care, my daughter went for the first time with my husband to get her dental check up. For up to a week on hearing me make the appointment, she constantly nagged us about why she had to go. Once she figured out there was no way to avoid it, her negotiating moved to which dentist she wanted to see. She asked for Dr. Joey. I asked her why while already knowing the reason. She said he was more kid friendly. Dr. Edwards is too but a bit more serious but still good too. Dr. Joey always has a smile on his face no matter how frustrating the child. When she returned home, she was so proud of not crying. She told me she saw Dr. Joey and because she didnt cry, Daddy took her to Target to get one toy. I do highly recommend Ped Dent of Fbrg.

My kids love Dr Justin and Dr Joseph! All the hygienists are amazing with the kids as well. The wait room is very child friendly and is the high point of the visit. My kids also enjoy the patient rooms with the TVs in the ceiling and the potential for a prize at the end of the visit.We all enjoy the professionalism, communication and understanding of the entire staff. I have never had a bad experience here and recommend them to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist.

My 3 children have been going to Pediatric Dentistry of Fredericksburg for quite some time now. We ABSOLUTELY love Chelsea and Dr. Joey!!! My youngest son, William will only see the two of them and I request the two of them only for him. It used to be heartbreaking to take him to the dentist but now HES HAPPY TO GO!!!!! I brought my 11 month old here for her first visit. All of the forms can be filled out online, which was very easy, and when I got there they checked mein immediately and were able to take me back (no waiting). The staff was friendly and helpful. The dentist was knowledagble, patient, and made sure I didn’t have any lingering questions. We were in an out within 25 minutes, and nearly all of that time was spent with the dentist or D. assistant. I would highly recommend. D

Best Pediatric Denist Ive been too! Dr. Joey is awesome and the staff is the nicest Ive seen anywhere. My son is 6 and on the Autism Spectrum, and they were great with him. He felt the same way about them as I do, and was very comfortable. They were ALL amazing from start to finish, especially the Office Manager Suzanne :).

We absolutely love this office! After taking my kids to a few other dental offices in the area and not being pleased with the interactions they had with my kids, I took them here. From the moment you walk in till the moment you leave, everyone is super nice! They don’t keep you waiting long which great with kids. They are very nice when talking to you and your kids. They don’t talk down to you like some dental offices can do. I feel extremely comfortable there. My kids love the set up of the office and get excited when they know they have a appointment coming up!

My 3 and 8 year old visited this office today and loved it! As soon as you walk through the door you will be greeted by friendly and smiling faces. The waiting room is very kid friendly with lots of cool video games and books! The staff was great from start to finish. Dr Edwards was patient and provide step by step information to the kids as he worked on them, which made them totally comfortable!

I’ve been taking my almost 4 year old son here for 3 years now. This past visit we saw Dr. Musselwhite and he is amazing! We love both doctors at this practice. My son brought in his hulk action figure and their dental assistants put a bib on hulk as well and even brushed his teeth! ☺️ They’re great with kids that are a little bit nervous and take their time to make sure that their patients and parents are comfortable. Let me start by saying I absolutely LOVE this office staff and the Drs. They were amazing!! That being said.. the quality stopped there. My son needed to be put to sleep for his treatment and I had to speak with the surgery coordinator or office manager as she calls herself. She was extremely rude to me as well as other people around her like the nurses there. I wanted to schedule my sons surgery still because I loved Dr Edwards but I called several times and she never would respond. Once she finally did she claimed she was out sick or on vacation EVERY time I called. Im upset about leaving but I will not be back. If this lady really is the office manager, I feel bad for this office its going to crash and burn! Only giving 1 star because the Drs are great.

They were fast and handled my almost 2 year old well. She was not happy about having her teeth looked at, but they handled everything seamlessly. The whole experience was quick and painless.

When I chose this office for my son I did so because of the reviews. How can a dentist get 5 stars? Well this one should be 10 stars. My 8 Yar old was seen for the first time at this office due to a broken tooth. They were fantastic at keeping him calm and relaxed. He has a history of terrible DR. visits so of course I was terrified this would not go well. The staff at this off was amazing. He never once cried or got scared of what was happening they walked him through the entire process. We left with a plan to fix his teeth and I am confident he will do great!As far as pricing I was shocked! Very reasonable! My first thought was oh god how much is this going to cost me. I left thinking wow! Thats not bad at all.

I started taking all 3 of my children, then ages 6, 3 and 2 to Pediatric Dentistry of Fredericksburg about a year ago. I was searching for a new pediatric dentist after my oldest had a bad experience with another pediatric dentist, thankfully we came across Pediatric Dentistry of Fredericksburg! When we walked in the front desk staff was very welcoming. After a short wait we were called back and the hygienist and Dr. Joey we’re extremely patient, kind and thorough. I trust them for my children’s dental care, they are the best!

Clean teeth and happy kids— had a great experience here with my boys. My three year old happily let the hygienist clean and dentist inspect his teeth and my one year old had a successful first visit!

My children love Dr Edwards! My son has needed a lot of work and there has been no one more patient than Dr Edwards and his staff! They are great at talking to kids about their dental care and it makes going to the dentist an enjoyable and fun experience for both parents and child.

We switched practices to Pediatric Dentistry of Fredericksburg and had an amazing first experience. They are one of the only practices we have ever been to that will make appointments for all three of my kids at the same time. They were a well oiled machine and welcomed all three of my anxious kiddos. They were scared coming from a traumatic experience at our last dentist office and left so happy they hugged the dentist! They are still asking when they get to go back to the dentist. We had a great, low key, low stress appointment. Even with three kids! This practice embodies everything that health care should be. I absolutely love this office! My 3 year old daughter had to have oral surgery (put under and everything) and as a mother I was very nervous about. Between Dr. Musselwhite and Suzanne the office manager, I can assure you they couldnt of done a better job at making me feel calm about the procedure. They not only thoroughly explained the procedure and why she needed it, She told me to call her if I had any questions or concerns before the big day and she was always ready to explain to me just why or what everything was every time I called her!Weve also had Dr. Edwards do some fillings and pull a couple teeth on my older children. He did amazing at making sure they not only were okay the entire time, but he did awesome with hiding the big needles to numb them with. My kids never know they even had a shot in the mouth!I recommend this office to everyone looking for a peds dentist! They are patient with my rowdy/feisty 3 year old daughter! And I couldnt ask for anything else!

So quiet, so kind, and so professional. I mean everyone, from the receptionist desk to the dental assistant, to the actual dentist. Everyone was extremely KIND, not the kind of nice because my job requires it but just genuinely kind people. They were all extremely informative and walked both my kids and I through every single procedure being done. My kids were a bit hesitant and scared when they first laid on the chair, but once they saw how delicate the dental assistant and dentist was with everything they did, they actually enjoyed themselves. Love this place and I am so happy I found somewhere that my kids actually love! Highly recommend!

My daughter was only 5 years old that Dr. Edwards recommend for her to do surgery which required general anesthesia. we though he is a technical and he knows and we accept and did what he was recommended. but after a week all teeth chrome removed. we contact many times Dr. Edward office and no one was responding. today we had 6 months appointment for her and we ask Dr. Edward that we should fix the chrome, and he said no problem when she get 7 years old these teath are removing. So my question if these teeth are removing why you did general anesthesia for a 5 years old kid??????? it means you are not care about our kids? it means you are just doing business, just businessssssss. I am not recommending him at all. if you love your kids take them to other dentists.

Awesome pediatric dentist! The staff is welcoming and friendly, and Dr. Edwards is great with the kids! The waiting room is full of games and movies. Very convenient location. Recommend to any one!

I have been taking my daughter to this practice since before Dr. Edwards came here to take over for Dr. Vitsky. Dr. Edwards and his staff are amazing! I can not recommend them highly enough. They are so patient and kind with their young patients, and they always answer all of my questions, sometimes before I even know what to ask. The front desk staff is also top-notch. I always get a live person on the phone and never have to wait long for an appointment. And as others have pointed out, the waiting room and entire office are very kid-friendly. Getting ready to start taking my younger two children to Dr. Edwards for their first checkups as well. I will never take my kids anywhere else!

WOW!! I have never been to a dental office that is more amazing than Pediatric Dentistry of Fredericksburg. I never leave reviews, however I must give credit where credit is due. The amount of compassion and humility in this office was breathtaking.My experience with this dentist office happened by chance. Over the Fourth of July week, my nephew was running and ran into a wall while not watching where he was running. It was a nasty accident that had me near panic. I called the on-call dentist and he gave me reassurance that everything would be fine until Monday.I made a follow-up emergency appointment for Monday at 2pm to have my nephews mouth looked at and we arrived at the end of the office lunch time. The office was closed for lunch hour but at 2 o’clock sharp the doors were opened and we walked into a room full of beautiful, smiling women who were eager to assist us. What an amazing atmosphere!! About 10 ladies all smiling in the middle of a work day???? Now THAT is rare. Dr. Joey was attentive and informative and the nurses were so polite and inviting. Dr. Joey put my nephew at ease and put a splint on his teeth for 2 weeks and my nephew walked out smiling. The kids are given a token at the end of the visit to use in the prize machine and my son was given one even though he didn’t have an appointment.I felt so at ease and wonderful at this office that I switched dentists that day to Pediatric Dentistry. The waiting room is a child wonderland. My son will now be a regular and I am happy to recommend this practice to anyone who has children who are afraid of dentists. My son and nephew did not want to leave!

Thank you Dr.Justin Edwards and staff for an awesome and humbling experience of caring for our 4 year old son. Our son had to have some dental work done, which needed to be performed as an outpatient basis, considered as same day surgery. Dr.Edwards explained in great detail alternatives of the procedure being performed in the hospital setting or office. Due to our sons young age, my husband and me decided it would be best to do it at the hospital. We didnt want our son to have any negative experiences being in a dental office. So many thoughts ran through my mind, being anxious and just praying. But the nurses and staff eased all my worries and concerns. To make a long story short, our son did well with the surgery. It was a blessing . Dr.Edwards, Nurse Ann,Dr.Shields the Anesthesiologist, Dr.Poonan and Nurse Sara all were outstanding and genuine caring for my baby. Hats off !!!! Dr.Edwards staff Lizza and Brittany thank you for working so diligently to getting the insurance authorizations and scheduling our babys procedure early than expected. I recommend this office to anyone that needs top notch pediatric dental care. Best dentist for kids by far. My son was so scared from a bad experience at his previous dentist when we first went here. They made him feel very comfortable & all his fears were gone. Great place!!!!!!!

My kids have been going to Dr. Vitskys office since they were two (for my oldest this is 7 years) and they love going there. They love the video games that can be played while waiting and the staff is excellent!!! You can tell by the way the whole office interacts with my kids that they love kids and go all out of their way to make them comfortable.Even when my daughter needed to get a filling she was excited to go and they made it so that shes not afraid of anything involved in getting a cavity filled :-(Thank you to Dr. Vitsky and his staff for being so good at their jobs!

Both doctors are great and patient with my kids!! The staff and hygienists are very good with my kids, even when they’re a little nervous. Highly recommend!

Dr. Joey Musselwhite has done a wonderful job with some work our 6 year-old needed done. She has actually ENJOYED her dentist visits! This is a dentist that I highly recommend!!!!
