My husband and I moved to Fredericksburg and were looking for a dentist. Husband needs sedation dentistry due to dental trauma experienced in childhood. Few dentist will do sedation dentistry but Dr. Cox will. So now we have been going to Dr. Cox for about 3 years. My husband has had many procedures and he is very pleased. I had only had teeth cleaning until……an emergency - a painful cracked tooth! Dr. Cox and team really came through for me. They got me in for a consult same day and next day scheduled the work. An implant was a possibility if the damages were too severe but fortunately that was not required. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Cox performed a root canal, prepped the tooth for a crown and installed a permanent crown. I walked out in two hours, problem solved! I am grateful and well pleased with this dentist office and Dr. Cox. Also, the office is clean, well run, and the staff is friendly.One improvement that is needed and I hope they are working on it, is getting the parking lot repaired/resurfaced - it’s hard to avoid the holes.

Absolutely ridiculous… went in and set a appt for my surgery, decided after calling a couple of other places they were way to overpriced. Called to cancel and get my deposit back only to tell me it’ll be 90 days… ok fine, that’s a bit ridiculous but I’ll wait. Call to inquire about my refund and told the office manager will call me back the same day after she returned from lunch. Received a callback a few days later and she didn’t bother to leave a message. Still waiting for my refund… I should have listened to the reviews 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is my third set of plates from Doctor Cox. This time I had a new doctor I am thoroughly disgusted with the teeth I have gone back twice and they told me nothing was wrong you can see through the teeth and it looks awful. Never had a problem there before always had great service sorry but I will not go back. Sorry for the bad review its not dr.cox

Root canal went bad. Doctors office didn’t followed up. Staff is rude and didn’t informed the office manager. Office manager forget to keep her word to refer back to me as promised. Initially she didn’t know much about the matter, definitely lack of communication and professionalism all together. I asked to talk with Dr. Cox, more likely he doesn’t even know what’s going on. In the meantime I had the problem solved by another professional. It seems that Dr. Cox didn’t performed well to begin with. Make yourself a favor and do some research first before it’s too late. I’ll file a complaint and pursuit legal action.

In being relatively new to the area, I was in search of a dentist (not that there were issues with my previous dentist, to give perspective). I try not to rate a place by one experience, which is somewhat the case as this is multiple interactions involving one visit. First, it is their policy that family members cannot book their appointment on the same day; while they give the excuse that it saves them from having double no-shows, they should just charge a fee for two no shows for the bad actors instead of causing additional inconvenience for everyone. Second, the person sitting at the billing counter felt it appropriate to try to handle to patients at one time, doing two things: violating HIPPA and causing the other person to stand there for a prolonged period of time waiting for her to find an answer. The appropriate thing would have been to invite myself or the other party to take a seat in the nearly empty, adjacent waiting area (Which I eventually took upon myself). Although I dismissed myself after the person had already discussed that there was an issue with billing and something was not added on. When I did get called back to the counter the person tried to explain billing to me with a sheet the had columns of amounts that were very close together and the person talked very quickly behind the mask that they were wearing, and part of their explanation broke down procedure by left side of mouth and right side of mouth. I have nothing against the wearing of protective equipment, but when wearing it you need to communicate pronounce clearly so the person can understand what you are attempting to communicate. When I asked the person to repeat how much the cost would be the person was not able to just tell me, they hurriedly took the sheet and then said something was wrong with what they told me. Further, I have dental insurance and health insurance from the same company, the dental insurance is accepted but the practice did not take the steps to be accepted by both plans from the same company; I canceled future family appointments to go to a practice that accepts both plans (from the same insurance company). Lastly, needing to refer out a procedure that is a simple procedure that I have had performed by a dentist in the past without any referral. In summary, there are six reasons for this rating of one out of five stars: unnecessary and inconvenient scheduling policies, lack of attention to HIPPA, observing errors with billing with the other patient and myself (known because of lack of attention to HIPPA practices), lack of reasonable insurance acceptance, lack of clear verbal and written communication, and inability to perform a procedure that a dental practice should be able perform. Since you read these reviews, my recommendation to Cox Family Dentistry since you: if a practice cannot maintain professional standards then the owners of the practice should make necessary changes to meet standards or shut down the practice. My recommendation to those seeking a dentist is to choose one that can competently provide care because there are many practices in the area.

I always have a good experience when I visit Cox Family Dentistry. No matter if its a regularly scheduled cleaning or an emergency crown repair during the Holidays, I am cheerfully greeted upon arrival and ushered into the exam room shortly after. They always update me on the status of my dental health, letting me know which teeth may be in need of future attention. Friendly and professional staff.

We have been going to this practice for many years. The office itself is sunny, comfortable and full of beautiful artwork and current magazines. 😁 The office staff is always friendly and welcoming. Our children had orthodontic work by Dr. Sherri. They loved her and still have gorgeous teeth as adults. Dr. Gregory Cox is by far the best dentist in the area. ( That’s why we make the 50 minute drive.) If you’re looking for a dentist, look no more.

Let’s get to the important stuff first: Dr. Cox is the absolute wizard of Novocain injections. It doesn’t matter what part of your mouth he needs to poke, you don’t feel a thing! He also does great dentistry. He’s done several different procedures for me including crowns and a root canal and I’ve been very happy with the results. His staff is friendly and efficient and I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes to be seen. I’ve been a patient of Dr Cox for years. The reason I’m writing this review now is because I had a crown come off a tooth and needed it to be put back on. He saw me immediately, took 3 ex rays and fixed the problem and, even though the crown was from another dentist, didn’t charge anything.Great guy, great practice, great dentist.

Kasey is our third child that received braces from Dr. Sherri. We had an awesome experience with each one! Our daughter was the first to get braces so we went to three different orthodontists to get their opinion on her treatment and their prices. Dr. Sherri was our last doctor that we visited and our daughter was immediately at ease about her treatment and really liked the caring way that Dr. Sherri told her all about what would be done. We were happy with that and the prices! Our second child had a very difficult mouth to fix:) He required braces, surgery and an implant. Cox Orthodontics did a great job with all of the alignment and prep for all of these issues. Our third child had to have two sets of braces. We completely trusted the recommendations and we are pleased to say that all three of our childrens stories end with beautiful smiles! They are more confident and even the boys will smile for pictures now!

This practice is amazing. We have had two girls have braces put on and the work was great. My 14 year old daughter just had them taken off and her teeth look amazing. My 9 year old also has braces and her teeth already look much straighter than before. The office staff is wonderful and always get us in when adjustments need made. Cox Dental and Orthodontics are very professional as well very friendly. There staff are the same as the Cox family, they will tell you what you need to be done, but they wont push you to do. I have been coming here for over 15 years and love every aspect of this office. You see the same faces every visit and each time they treat you like family. The hygienists are very thorough and knowledgeable they put you at ease but still educate you about your oral health. Dr. Cox has performed root canals and crowns on me and now Im hoping to do an implant. It is so nice to get it all done in one office. I searched for ages to find a decent dentist when we moved to the area 2yrs ago and was so glad to find this place! The staff is awesome and friendly - theyre always happy to try and accommodate my insane schedule. (Seriously - Ive dropped good dentists before over an uncaring/rude front office staff so its always nice to find a practice who loves what they do!!) The doctors and hygienists are great at their work and Ive actually seen my dental health improve since coming here. Weve since moved from the immediate area, but still make the trek back because, well - theyre just that good.

Dr Cox is an excellent dentistry. When he numb my gum I did not feel anything pain at all. Other dentist that I had visited in the past I can feel the pain when they numb my gum.He was also fast on what he does. The treatment that he did on my teeth I was thinking will take maybe an hour and a half but he did it in 30 minutes. He is good on what he does.All his dental assistants are friendly and knowledgeable on what they do too.I look forward further treatment at dr Cox’s dental office.I will recommend all my families and friends to dr Cox’s dental office.

After having several bad or mediocre experiences with dentists in the area, I began a search for a family dentist that would better meet my familys dental needs. I was looking for an office with flexible hours and with a staff that could handle my anxious daughter. Her anxiety at other dentists had lead to wrong diagnoses and recommendations for expensive services like cleaning under sedation. I asked around for recommendations and looked at reviews online. After receiving Coxs flyer in the mail that specifically used friendliness as a marketing point, I called and spoke to the receptionist. That conversation was reassuring, so I made appointments for everyone in the family. The first time went so well that I started a campaign amongst my sisters to get our eldest sister in to see Dr. Cox. She needed major dental work and had been avoiding it for over a decade. By that time, she was avoiding it out of fear and shame. After several months of pressure, she finally caved and went. After getting everything done, she told me how comforting and non-shaming the staff was. I am so grateful to Dr. Cox and the staff for their kindness, compassion, and patience with my sometimes neurotic family. If you are considering a change in dentists or are new to the area, I highly recommend this office. This is the first time Ive posted a review because I feel so strongly about it.
