I purchased a Groupon to try this place out for my son, it was comparable to their start up program with a few lessons and a uniform for about $20. I took my family to check out the place after a class and to sign up.I was greeted by the director of this school and when I mentioned the Groupon, his look expressed confusion and irritation. He explained that in the 5 years he has been there, he has never seen a Groupon for his school. He then said he would honor it after he would talk to the head office to understand it. He took my information to contact me the next day which he never did.He then proceeded to act bewildered about the groupon and ignored us as if he was done with us. I asked, is there anything my son will need, he replied once I check this out, ill get back to you. He didnt offer to show the place, talk about his programs, or even ask me what the groupon said.The primary driver of business is the ability to bring in customers and provide a service. If this is the way me and my family are treated by the Director, what would I want my son going there to learn anything when a single interaction portrayed minimal respect and disinterest.As a last note, we went in wearing masks because of COVID, the Director told us that its our choice what we enforce our family to do and that most of the people there were vaccinated so masks arent necessary.***REVISE***The director called me to follow up today, acknowledged my concerns and that he remembers the situation differently. Everyone has their point of view and I respect that. He was willing to move forward and see about creating a better customer experience but I declined. I appreciate his willingness and openness to have a candid conversation about the experience but at this time, its not place I would feel comfortable with.

My 5 year old started here this summer. To see where he started to where he is now is amazing. He looks forward to doing chores, to help his friends, and encourage his family members all because he enjoys their reward system. When he wears his uniform he loves explaining what his blue tips means, his blue star, his red stars and his goals stars. all things that where enhanced with MT Kim. We enjoy watching the Lil tigers do their best and achieve their goal. The patience and kindness the instructors show is encouraging. I would recommend you take the time and do a two weeks and see if it’s a right fit for you and your family. We did a two weeks and 4 months later we are still in love.

Great studio and totally amazing instructors and staff. My son absolutely loves going there. If he could go everyday, he would. He has always been a good child however I have noticed a huge in his attitude and his added respect. And it doesnt hurt, when I need to discipline him, I ask him should I also report this issue to Master Danny... then I have no more issues. Thank you Mt Kim for the added bonus to my sons character.

Our daughter is a Tiny Tiger at Mountain Kim and we cannot say enough about how amazing the whole crew is... And when I say whole crew I literally mean everyone. It’s so awesome thatmy daughter insisted two years in a row to have a Karate birthday party there... I’m a pretty critical individual and I would recommend Mountain Kim (and I do) to anyone who asks and even people who don’t.....

We absolutely love Mt. Kim! We attend the Rt. 17 school. The instructors and staff there are amazing. They’re all so knowledgeable and friendly, and really go out of their way to make families feel welcome and valued. Master Danny is one of the most (if not THE most) positive and energetic people I’ve ever encountered, and you can tell just by observing the classes that he truly loves working with the kids. The staff at our school are always coming up with new and innovative ways to grow, improve, and keep things current. Not only are the school and instructors top-notch, but the parent involvement and the feeling of family and community you get at our studio is wonderful as well. And lastly but most importantly, is the changes I’ve seen in my children. We’re a military family and move so much that my children have always struggled with self-esteem and feeling like they don’t really fit in. For the first time ever, that’s not the case here. It’s been such a blessing watching them blossom and grow in their confidence here, and I attribute it largely to the friends they’ve made through Mt. Kim and the life-skills they focus on in their training.

We LOVE this place and ALL it’s people!! It has really helped our kids reach their higher potential. They help students develop both their skills AND their character. Principles like honesty and personal responsibility that are important in class help reinforce the kind of efforts we’re applying at home to really strengthen the lessons we hope to build on later throughout their lives. Classes are also affordable for our large family which is a definite plus for us!

Mt. Kim is a great school. My grandson started when he was 5 years old in the Tiny Tigers program. He is now 8 and still going strong! He has gained confidence, learned self control, respect and discipline and so much more! The school offers after school programs, summer camp, day camp for some school closures, judo, leadership classes, just to name a few. I am very glad my grandson is a member of the Mt. Kim family.

This will be my second review of this facility. My son started off doing a couple days a week to now attending before/after care and practicing taeknowdo every day. He enjoys it so much. He is learning about self control, discipline, as well as self-esteem. The changes I have seen in just the last year is amazing. He realizes what he exhibits in taeknowdo also must be exhibited at school as well. Thank you Master Danny and your entire instructors staff for all you do.

My experience at Mountain Kim Martial Arts was Awesome! I have been doing martial arts since 1990 and because of my job I have been forced to find new places to train as I move to my next location. When I found Mountain Kim Martial Arts I knew right away that I found a great place and I was never disappointed there after. So what was so great you ask? The training is great, that goes without saying! But it was even more than the training. At Mountain Kim Martial Arts I also felt like part of their family because of the family atmosphere and the honest and friendly people who operate and train there. Its almost been two years since I was able to train there and to this day I can still remember why I enjoyed training there so much!

“I love my class and it’s hard but it’s fun!” -My 8y old. We have been coming for a little over a year, and drive an hour one way to go to this studio. We love the staff, love Master Danny and hope to get our younger kids in classes soon. They are all patient with our daughter. You don’t be disappointed!

Absolutely wonderful place if you are looking for something more than an average after-school activity! In the past few months my child has developed so much self-confidence from this program. It is not just any Taekwondo, and one of the best aspects of this program is how my childs academic progress and overall behavior is implemented into the curriculum. The staff here are kind, simply amazing individuals, teaching from core concepts which builds not only my childs physical capabilities, but gives her a solid moral compass to guide her through adolescence. Could not recommend a better place!

My son has been attending a beginner class for a little over a month and already shows improvement in his behavior, respect and responsibilities! He loves going to class, encourages his classmates and has already participated in his first tournament! The instructors are all very friendly and the classes are flexible which is a huge bonus with us!

I’ve seen first hand how Mountain Kim can change someone’s life in the most positive of ways. The instructors truly care about the students and teach them life skills that will not only help them now but later on in life too. Ive been an instructor for the mountain Kim schools for about 5 years now. Within those years of teaching its been an absolute blast, the way the Masters teach instructors how to teach, to having fun within the school, and I even get a great workout as well! I would recommend this school to anyone trying to find confidence and/or discipline for your child or even yourself!

My granddaughter LOVES her experience with Mt. Kims class. We can see the changes in her since she started class, more attentive in class, grades improved, more discipline in life than before. Mountain Kim is an amazing studio! It is an awesome place to learn something new, be active, and share experiences for all ages. Staff and instructors make sure you feel good after every class and are getting the most of each experience!

Our 9 year old has been taking TaeKwonDo at Mt. Kim for four years and loves it there. Master Danny and the other instructors make classes fun, but also ensure that the students are learning what they need to learn, at a pace that suits them, in order to progress through the various belt levels. They are dedicated to the success of every student. They offer private lessons if there is something in particular a student wants some extra time with and are very flexible about scheduling them. There are many different class times to suit any schedule, and they offer after-school care, with homework time and a lesson. Twice a year there is a big tournament with students from other Mt. Kim schools in the region, which provides an excellent opportunity to show off your skills. Although I would have been surprised to hear that a 9 year old had earned a black belt, I never felt as if my child was rushed through the curriculum. That belt was earned through hard work and dedication and the instructors and Master Danny helped make it easy. Second degree black is next!

This is the best Martial Arts place ever! My two sons and my husband are taking all the classes here including Judo. Master Danny and Instructor Keith are amazing! The Best Taekwondo family!

Its a great time to be there! I have become more physically fit and mentally prepared for the real world. I would definitely introduce other people to taekwondo because you learn how to do martial arts and you learn life skills like honesty, belief, respect , communication, self esteem, and discipline

We have been members of the Mt. Kim Martial Arts family since 2010. My girl is now a 2nd degree black belt and she is hoping to become a TKD instructor someday! I cannot say enough good things about Mt.Kim! We were looking for an after school program when we found Master Danny and Mt. Kim. I was a nervous mom of a little boy about to start kindergarten. I saw a difference with him in the very first lesson. Instructor Jacob was able to make him stand completely still for what seemed like forever and I was hooked. That was 4 years ago and still the best decision we have ever made. These instructors show amazing patience and work so hard with all of their students, young and old. They help these kids with focus and discipline and teach them leadership skills they can take out in the world with them. I see everything he has learned from Taekwondo shine through in his school work, behavior, and even in his focus with other sports. I recommend them every time i get a chance!

Mountain Kim is the most amazing place to spend time and get a great work out. The support is amazing and it comes from the Staff, the Students and their parents.I started at 24 and have loved every minute.

If you are thinking about beginning martial arts classes, I highly recommend Mt. Kim Fredericksburg. My family began taking taekwondo classes 6 months ago and I have nothing but positive feedback about the staff and the school. Master Danny is professional, accommodating and totally approachable! I really cant say enough about the instructors. I have been so impressed with the ability of these young adults to work so well with students of all ages and abilities. They make class fun and challenging for the children, while maintaining a positive atmosphere of discipline and respect. I am one of a handful of adults that take classes with my children and I always feel that the activities in class are appropriate for everyone…plus I get a great workout! The programming is really well planned and is a perfect balance of physical activity and life skill development! In a short period of time, I’ve noticed improvements in my children’s strength, coordination, and confidence. They love taking classes and beam with pride with each broken board and every new belt! This is the best extracurricular activity we’ve ever done and I love that we can do it as a family.

I love taking judo with instructor Keith. The new programming is great too. I recommend this place for anyone. They really care about their students.

My girls started going to Mt. Kim this past summer for Summer camp and to gauge if they had an interest in TKD. They enjoyed it so much we enrolled them in two classes a week once summer was over. They are both loving it and so are we. My oldest daughter has grown a lot in her confidence. I’m amazed at how the life skills learned in class have carried over to other areas of their lives (academics, social skills, home responsibility). We love Mt. Kim. The instructors are all wonderful and you can tell they genuinely love teaching children.

I would be remiss if I did not positively assert myself to write a review on Mountain Kim Martial Arts. Having spent just shy of 22 years in the USMC, I know what it means to be part of a real TEAM or what it feels like to part of something recognizably good and special. So outside the top notch instruction, that is what drew me in to Mountain Kim Martial Arts. The reception I received when I first started was awesome and the great sense of TEAM Ive seen and continue to feel as I progress through training/instruction is has me still going today. The atmosphere of the instruction is fun but conducive to learning proper techniques. All the instructors are firm, fair, creative, talented, and effective. Im currently participating in the Hapkido program but I have the opportunity to observe, from time to time, all ages participating in Judo and Taekwondo programs which are fun, exciting, and challenging with emphasis on proper technique as well.

The level of professionalism with Mountain Kim Martial Arts is incredible. They are extremely knowledgable and teach skills like no other. I have recommended them to all my friends

He loved it so much that he took the Tae Kwon Do classes in the evening too.Master Danny makes his location feel like a family. My son at 5 years old went to the big Mountain Kim tournament and got 1st place and 2nd place and had so much fun. My family visited was welcomed by staff and now in 2017 Im not so welcomed. Im Fourth degrees black belt with a family of black belts. I so sorry that you have to run this school like a business. Well Im not going to do any more visits so Sinorara OSU.

Great place. My son loves it here.

Wife Broke her tailbone in November. She told them she would be out for several months. In late December they bill us for almost 179 dollars. We call them they tell us we need a doctors note to cancel membership after Instructor Kieth told my wife he would cancel it. They told my wife she could continue with a broken tail bone and a jacked up knee. So after we call and ask for a refund on the almost 179 dollars they tell us no and they will probably bill us again next month. So either USAA will dispute these charges and get us our money back for an unused service we were told would be canceled or lawyers will get involved and I will get a whole lot more than a simple reimbursement.

Its all smiles until someone has to take responsibility. My wife and I enrolled our 5 year old son in mountain kims after school program. We were told we could leave his outfit on premises so he didnt have to tote it to and from the house and school every day. Almost every day in December that he was there he didnt get to participate in class because he (a 5 year old) couldnt find his gym bag that usually got buried under multiple larger bags and no one would help him move then or help him look. Also my son who I will stress again is only 5 years old, was told he wasnt aloud to eat because he made a mess eating his snack crackers. Not that he had to stop eating that day, but not again. I would suggest Majest Tae Kwon Doe just down route 17 as an alternative. Majest is far more structured and requires much better form, knowledge, and respect to progress in belts and teach much more responsibility.
