I’ve been to this emergency room twice now and both times were major waste of my time and money. The first time they ran a whole bunch of tests that were not even necessary and ran up the bill then wouldn’t talk to me about it. This time they ran no tests gave me a couple shots for major back pain and sent me on my way without any prescriptions. Terrible emergency room and the nurse had an attitude like I was Inconveniencing her

Recently and unexpectedly, I was in the ER and treated with professionalism, concern and in a timely manner. They had other issues that came in while I was there and I never felt that the staff was unable to take care of me or the ambulances that came in. From the ER registration team to the nurse, tech and physician working that evening, all of them provided courteous and conscientious care. The St. Joe team has made some very good staffing changes and its apparent. Thank you for putting patient care and staffing as a priority.

St. Joes Hospital here in Fort Wayne is AMAZING! I have had negative experiences with the St. Joesphs back in my home town, but here they are all friendly, professional, and work very hard to provide the best care in a very timely manner. The ER is honestly by far the BEST I have ever been seen in. And they have awesome employees working there. Nicole is the worlds best Nurse ever, she completely rocks!!

I dont feel good about having to give 2 stars to an organization but honestly the only things good about my one experience at St Joe hospital was the valet people and the 2 nurses who helped attend my moms doctor.I brought my mom there for a medical issue that was VERY PRIVATE and VERY SENSITIVE. She was 91. She had not been to a doctor before nor a hospital. I went to great lengths to explain in private to the nurses and the doctor how to speak to my mom about her issue that she was obviously very nervous about and felt much embarrassment about. The nurses were PERFECTLY COMPLIANT with what was asked and they treated her with the utmost respect and dignity. To my utter amazement, the doctor came in and immediately embarrassed and shamed my mom. He was loud and really seemed to care less or completely have forgotten my private conversation with him 5 minutes earlier. It was difficult to pay that bill when the treatment was abysmal.

My grandfather [Paul george] went to this hospital after being found unresponsive he went there for anoxic brain injury, he also had copd and it took them 11 days until they did any test on him except for a day after he arrived they was worried about a spine X-ray when he wasn’t there for nothing to do with that my grandfather is was there for less than 3 weeks before the doctor he had told my family we had to make a decision to put him on a trach or let him go they told us the movements he had was involuntary even after we told them the things he was doing he has been doing for years like laying one leg over the other in the bed to be comfortable because he couldn’t get around much.my family disagreed with the doctor who tried to get my family to let my grandfather go and said he had 0%chance of a full recovery and was basically brain dead and he went to a new hospital in ohio less than a week at the new hospital and my grandfather is making huge steps to recovery he got took off the ventilator to now he can breath on his own , he is standing up on his feet literally and is pointing at pictures around the room and his lips are moving but he can’t talk because he is on a Trach and he will be put on a voice box in a day or two to see if he can talk still. one thing I also noticed is it seemed like he was always so sedated in this hospital, they couldn’t really tell if he was making recovery anyway. Please don’t go to this hospital save yourself from this place and putting your loved ones in this hospitals hands...

I have never been to a hospital like this one, the minute I walked through those doors it was not like any other hospital I have been to, almost like I was in a movie, I instantly thought where are all the people? it seemed dead in the place, I remember asking my family if this was the place for my step father(Paul George) before I even got to go back and see my step father! Just bad vibes as soon as I stepped foot in this hospital! Oh and the water bottle with liquid in it that sat in the same place in the big waiting room under a chair for the first week and a half, three weeks! Mind you my step father had breathing problems from smoking(copd)but he was not on a machine regularly, he seen a doctor regularly, he fixed his car a few days before he was rushed into the hospital because he was found unresponsive! He was put on a ventilator shortly after arriving, my two oldest sisters were the ones in charge, to make decisions, I cant recall them ever calling to update regularly, they actually took out the ventilator, without anyone of our family members around to see how he did or to notify they were doing anything! not too long after that he all of a sudden ended up with pneumonia, moral of the story if you have a loved one with life threatening things going on dont send them to this hospital, send them to parkview where the care that is needed will be done, they kept his ventilator in too long after they had permission to do the trake! They kept putting if off.....I feel that if my step father would of never came to st Joe, and would of went to parkview like he normally went to when he was not feeling well he would not be going thru what he is today, he was transfered to Lima Ohio, where arriving they find Fentanyl patch st.Joe left on him while on other pain meds......There were a few people who did work there that my family wont forget, Michael, Marsha, and Matt!! Thanks for being helpful to my family! You three where the highlight, of this nightmare, my family will never forget you three!!

The shittiest hospital I’ve ever been in. The psychiatrist needs to rethink her career. She treats the patients like animals and has no sympathy. Most of the nurses are caring, but others are rude and it shows in the way they treat their patients that they hate their job.
