10 Days ago I had a reverse shoulder implant. Within days after surgery I was able to stop taking my pain medication. 3 weeks after surgery I stopped wearing my sling. 40 days after I am able to start playing golf again! Super happy with my new shoulder and Dr Mehalic

My overall experience was extremely positive. I had shoulder replacement surgery on September 25, 2019, and he, along with his staff and anesthesia/surgical team were exemplary. I have not had to take a pain pill since being home, and within the first week I could dress and shower myself (albeit slowly). I do tire quite easily, but was told that was to be expected. I am following Dr. Mehaliks directions and he was very pleased with my progress when I saw him for my post-op on November 4,2019. Dr. Mahalik was extremely placed with my mobility and range of motion.

At 60 y/o and choosing to be a NYC Firefighter as a career, I have literally seen 100s of doctors and at least 50-60 Ortho Surgeons from here in Ft Myers and NYC. Dr. Mehalik who I have seen twice for shoulder issues, I feel is top notch ! Superior knowledge, good exam, conservative treatment as well! So many Orthos just want to rush you into surgery ! Dr. Mehalik would be my go to guy if surgery was needed. I have had work done at HSS, Lenox Hill, in Manhattan and would still choose a local guy. ALL of my other specialists tell me the same.....when I ask them who would you take a family member to ?.........They all say Mehalik !! If you have a good rep among your peers......that is telling you something! BTW--these same doctors would also tell me who to AVOID !! They are in the know!

It was terrible. Staff put me in a room and I sat for over an hour no one even aknowledged me! I left after over hour never did even see the Doc. When i was in practice i used to tell staff if patients have to wait the doctor is money hungry of the staff is totally incompatent. He might be a good doc good question!

Dr Mehalik has done two massive rotator cuff tears and a complete bicep tendon repair for me. I have had other orthopedic surgeries and have never experienced care and professionalism as I have from Dr Mehalik.I have never had any problems following his surgeries and did not change the way I live one bit. I will promise you one thing, you will not tear up his surgery...if it was possible I would have over the past 10 years since my first rotator cuff repair, (the second was on my other shoulder).Finally, as to Dr. Michael Schwangers one star for being left in a treatment room for over an hour and leaving...all I can say is if it had to happen, it couldnt have happened to a better person...another doctor. They all make the world wait. Its called supply & demand and running a business to make a profit. Maybe Dr. Michael Schwanger can find him a surgeon with no patients and get seen out of an empty waiting room in 5 minutes.

I love Dr Mihalik. He always takes the time to listen and care.
