I am totally impressed with Sound Relief and Dr. Tony Kovacs as I can “hear” and my “tinnitus” is now bearable! It’s a Godsend!My story is a crazy one as I could never really ever hear from the time I was a small child in the classroom, home or anywhere! I was missing out on so much! I couldn’t even hear my favorite songs unless I had the written words and I’d always have to ask to have things repeated. This only got worse as the years went by. At thirty I was told that it was Swimmer’s Ear, then Ringing-In-The-Ears, DUH!Finally years later, Tinnitus was named and I tried everything I could to learn about it. After 20 years of Tinnitus it was encouraging to find Sound Relief. I was hopeful but skeptical. All appoinment schedulng was quick and pleasant. Very friendly staff and office environment. Examination began ontime. Dr. Kovacs Otic knowledge is obvious as well as his exuberance helping people with this affliction. I received a very thorough hearing test followed by a meaningful results explanation, allaying my initial skepticism. Modern hearing aids combined with longterm education and product support made the decision process easy. January 2015 my life changed with the onset of tinnitus. After over 5 years of struggling and trying everything from nutritional changes, supplements, exercise routines to realign my inner ear crystals and lots of prayer, I hit a wall. I recognized the dark cloud that I carried everywhere and wondered if life was worth it. Often weeks went by without quality sleep because of the constant loud sounds in my head, I had no hope. A friend who knew of my situation suggested Sound Relief Tinnitus & Hearing Center and gave me the phone number.Its been just over a year now; with lots of patience from Dr. Tony Kovacs and diligent practice with the tools and training he shared, I am myself again. I have had tinnitus for a long time now, and my hearing isnt great. Ive seen an ENT in the past and came away thinking I would have to live with this ringing in my head for the rest of my life. My tinnitus is very loud and 95% of the time, louder than everything else. It affects my mood and is extremely frustrating.Abby performed the hearing tests, showed me the results and recommended the hearing aids and tinnitus plan. She listened to my concerns and I feel like she truly understands what it is like to live with tinnitus.I just got my hearing aids two days ago, so my hearing is much better but way too early to give an update on tinnitus, I will update this as we progress.What I will say now is that this is the first time in a long time that I feel optimistic about not having to hear this constant ringing ever again. She identified the cause of my correctable hearing loss when another audiologist couldn’t. It was confirmed by the neuro otolaryngologist. She interpreted test results that another audiologist couldn’t. Her assessments are thorough and simultaneously big-picture and detailed. She is an outstanding communicator and presents her findings in an understandable way. She is confident in her abilities and open to any and all questions and feelings. I am so pleased with my hearing aids from Sound Relief! I had no idea what I was missing until I didn’t wear my hearing aids for a few hours. I can hear more conversation, nature sounds, music, TV programs, and people in stores and businesses that I was missing frequently. Dr. Tony gave me aids that work very well for me and makes sure I have no problems or issues. The follow up after you receive your hearing aids is incredible; they make sure you’re comfortable using the aids, cleaning them, and wearing them. I was reluctant to try hearing aids but it has been so easy to adapt to wearing them and my quality of life is so much better. If you’re hesitant or nervous to try a hearing device, go to Sound Relief Center. They will fit you with the product that is best for you and you won’t regret doing this for yourself.

Tinnitus was getting to be more of a problem for me. Another place I had gone to seemed more about the hearing devices. Dr. Kovacs clearly explained tinnitus,its effects,why it happens, and ways to deal with it. I have seen Dr Kovacs 4 times now and he is very professional and personable. I believe the tinnitus devices are working, as I am less aware of the tinnitus now after 6 months. I would recommend Sound Relief to anyone with a tinnitus problem.

I came in to see Dr Tony about some hearing concerns I had been experiencing and he was extremely helpful and took the time to teach me about the ear and how it functions and also what tinnitus looks like and how it works. Fortunately after talking with him he let me know I had nothing to be concerned about right now and sent me on my way (I am experiencing really minor, hopefully temporary, tinnitus) Sense we determined I didn’t even need to do an actual exam he let me go free of charge! Seriously, have you ever heard of a drs office not wanting to charge you for absolutely everything under the sun? Also the staff seems super nice and were welcoming. Over all a great atmosphere for a drs office and I had a really great experience.

I started with Sound Relief in 2016, and have been so pleased with this company. When Dr. Tony opened an office in Ft Collins I was happy to transfer my care to this office which is easier for me to get to. Both he and Rachel, the office receptionist, are super friendly and knowledgeable. I’m pleased to recommend Dr. Tony and Sound Relief!

If you are looking for help with hearing, I highly recommend Dr. Kovaks, at Sound Relief. I originally went in on a whim, because my parents were seeing him for help with their hearing and absolutely loved him. I was hearing little buzzing noises from time-to-time, often had to ask friends to repeat what they had said and was having to turn the volume up pretty high on the tv. I really expected Dr. Kovaks to say that my hearing was practically perfect, but that my ears just needed to be cleaned out. Instead, he identified some hearing loss and I purchased some high-end hearing aids. My life has become so much more peaceful since then! I still hear small noises intermittently, but apparently that is normal. The other problems have been resolved. It is much less stressful to hold conversations and I can have the tv at a normal volume. Added bonuses are that I hear music much more clearly, now and can stream directly into the hearing aids. The whole process at Sound Relief is pleasant and thorough. You pay for everything up-front, but the support is ongoing and comprehensive. I went in every three weeks, as the level of hearing gradually raised to the maximum level, and am now going in every three months. This week, I mentioned in passing, that I had some interference when I put my hands near my ears. Dr. Kovaks was able to change out the little domes, which took care of that issue. It is not fun to realize that you have hearing loss, but it is wonderful to be able to do something about it...and make a fun acquaintance in the process! Let me add that Dr. Kovaks continues to work with my parents, even though they have moved out-of-state. They are older, struggle with technology and have BEAUCOUP questions, and he is so very patient with them. My dad was virtually blocked from social interactions in groups, because of extreme hearing loss. He had to have the tv at such a high volume that we got headphones for him. Now he hears the best of any of us and is able to be a part of the fun, once again.He resolves issues for them over zoom. It is so nice that they have someone always available to help or answer questions.

I couldnt be more grateful for my tinnitus devices from Sound Relief. Since I got them a few years ago, I have been through a huge number of stressful life issues, including a 10-hour back surgery, among other things. The devices help calm my anxiety down so much, its hard to even express it. I would recommend them to anyone who suffers from tinnitus. They truly help me handle the stress of tinnitus, and I dont have anxiety attacks over it anymore. And since the virus came, which affects all of us, my devices even help ease my stress over that, as well. They have been great.

He will help you better understand your tinnitus and easily explain the factors that can effect it.After filling out a hearing questionnaire to determine the effect your tinnitus has on your life, you will go through a hearing check to pinpoint the severity and level of your tinnitus. You will then get to try out specifically programmed devices tailored to your tinnitus and hearing loss. I didnt know these therapy devices existed until I searched online. I should have come here a long time ago.

Super friendly staff - always willing to give directions to a spot you want to go. Dr. Abby is very knowledgeable & explains everything well. She is very patient, understanding & compassionate. She has helped my husband so much. Dr. McMahon has tinnitus herself, so she understands. Always a phone call or e-mail away if you have questions after returning home. We have a friend we want Dr. Abby to help. Right now she is treating my husband, Lynn, but if I have loss of hearing I know exactly where I will go. Absolutely cant ask for better care.

Tinnitus lifesaver! From my initial appt 2 yrs ago w/Dr. Russell, all the follow-up appts in between and my most recent with Dr. Kovacs, everyone at Sound Relief has been awesome! I will admit to being skeptical and even discouraged during the initial phase of treatment. Like you, I had read the reviews and unfortunately didn’t experience the quick relief others had voiced. Dr. Russell was reassuring, sympathetic and convinced me to not give up. Relief for me took about a year, another 6 months of random days going without the aides and since the beginning of this year, I have probably only worn them maybe 30 days total. Is the tinnitus still there? Yes, it is but I can honestly say that it really is possible to train an old brain new tricks and I’ve been successful in tuning it out! Bottom line, three words – DON’T GIVE UP.

From the moment you walk into this place, you know youre in the right place. The staff is very friendly, and they even have a Keurig and warm homemade chocolate chip cookies in the waiting room. The doctors are not only knowledgeable, they are able to explain things really well. They really want you to understand what is going on with your hearing (or lack thereof). All of the follow-up appointments are completely free, and they make sure you are fully stocked with all the hearing aid parts you might need. Once (and only once) my doctor was running a few minutes late. She came out herself and let me know shed be right with me, and so sorry for the delay. What doctor does THAT?! I purchased my first set of hearing aids about three years ago through one of the big box stores. I was happy with the purchase at first but as time went on I found myself more and more frustrated with my inability to hear outside of a quiet room. The big box store hearing center was very response always courteous. I went in several times over the three year period, but just could get an improvement. I was stuck.In December 2018 I was referred to Dr. Russell through a friend. I went in for an assessment and was eventually outfitted with a pair of hearing devices which have made a remarkable difference. Phone calls and crowed rooms are no longer a painful experience. Also the extended follow through has been quite Impressive. Thanks to Dr. Russell. I really appreciate what she has prescribed to help me hear again.

Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma (benign brain tumor) that left me with tinnitus. At that time my surgeon said there was no way to relieve this continuous sound and that I should try to block it out. It was difficult to concentrate, sleep, read a book, etc. I cannot express how excited I was after my first appointment with Dr. Christine Russell who explained that there was help for me. I cannot recommend Dr Christine Russell enough. My tinnitus had reached the stage that it was seriously affecting my health. I was unable to get much sleep and the stress and anxiety was becoming unbearable. Not to mention that it was becoming difficult to have a conversation because the ringing in my ears made it difficult to clearly hear the words being spoken. I had gone to may doctors and ear, nose, throat specialists and they pretty much told me there was nothing they could do for me. I went to several hearing clinics and the devices they tried only amplified the sound but did not help my hearing nor did it do anything for my tinnitus. Then I went to the Sound Relief Hearing Center. After several tests and conversations Dr Russell had me try hearing aids that only amplified the frequency that I had a diminished ability to hear. These aids also generated barely audible fractal tones that cause my brain to focus on that sound instead of trying to compensate for the diminished frequency and generate its own tones. The result was almost immediate. Not only did the tinnitus stop ringing, my hearing was greatly improved. With the stress and anxiety lowered because I know that the hearing aids will help make the ringing go away, I have been able to learn to control the level of ringing even when I am not wearing the hearing aids by relaxing and focusing my attention to other things. No, my tinnitus has not been cured, but I now only occasionally hear the ringing when I don’t have my hearing aids in and even then, I don’t get stressed about it. I cannot thank Dr Russell and her wonderful staff enough for making my life livable again.

Having my last hearing test 1.5 years ago, I wanted to try SR this time. They were able to book an appointment close to my office. They were able to do a cleaning, then test. And we talked about options for tinnitus. Dr. Jennifer was very knowledgeable, friendly, listen, and was quite funny too.

I cannot recommend Dr. Christine Russell enough. As the American Tinnitus Association says on their website, if you suffer from tinnitus you have to be your own advocate and be vigilant in seeking out a knowledgeable audiologist. After being struck with tinnitus (and having hearing loss), I worked with a different audiologist at a different office in town who did not understand tinnitus. It was very frustrating and I was left with a lot of stress and worry about whether I was doing myself more harm than good. That message on the ATA website prompted me to do some searching for a better option, which is how I came to meet Dr. Christine at Sound Relief. Dr. Christine experiences tinnitus herself and as a result SHE REALLY GETS IT. Shes very compassionate and patient. She helps you to understand what is going on with your hearing issues, and the Sound Relief program of Sound Therapy has truly been a RELIEF for me. Im so glad I found them and have been able to work with them.

Dr. Christine is a sensitive caring Dr. I drive from Longmont to Ft. Collins to see her but it is well worth it. I love her front desk Gal too whose name I of course cant remember!!! I can hear great and my tinnitus is sooooo much better!!! It no longer wakes me up at night and I can hear my friends and family in restaurants!!! I highly recommend Dr. Christine and the Sound Relief Hearing Center. If you suffer from Tinnitus, this really works! Dont wait until your really old though. Im 64 and Im glad I got them when I did.
