Dr. Steckel is the best! On the day before my daughters wedding my right eye was red and swollen. Dr. Steckel went out of his way to see me, diagnose me and make sure that I got the drops I needed before leaving for the wedding and my eye was fine just in time for the event! As an aside, months before, Dr. Steckel also corrected another doctors prescription and instantly improved my vision. He’s brilliant, caring and professional. Highly recommend!

Dr Steckel is a top notch doctor--in every way: he is smart, knowledgeable, caring, extremely competent, communicative, and skilled. His Office Staff deserve FIVE STARS. They are competent, compassionate, efficient, thoughtful, caring---the best office staff in any doctors office.

Dr. Steckel was friendly and knowledgeable. He made me feel at ease right away. I experienced some lightening flash in my left eye and was concerned about a retinal detachment. I called multiple eye doctors to see if I could get a last minute appointment, none of them called me back. My coworker recommended Dr.Steckel and it was the best advice I ever took. The front desk was very nice and they were able to squeeze me in and I was very grateful for their help. Dr.Steckel and his staff made me feel very welcomed from the beginning.I received a comprehensive eye exam and the results were explain in easy to understand terms.

My children and I have been patients of Dr. Steckel’s for over 12 years. He is an amazing doctor with great bedside manner, he performed surgery on my son for strabismus way back when and we are eternally grateful to him for correcting the issue. His NEW staff is AMAZING. Highly recommend Dr. Steckel and his practice!

Eyes are important so we go with the *BEST*.Our family has been coming to this office for about 20 yrs. He has operated very successfully on two of the kids eyes (for different reasons) -- both when they were less than 5 yrs old.Dr Steckel is incredibly smart and his mind is always working. I can see how some people might find that short on rare occasions -- but he has a drawer full of things to keep kids attentions so he can test. Anyway, Id rather have someone making sure they dont miss something .... at any age.I came on to write this review bc we find him very easy to work with and have a high level of trust in his professional opinion. Id expect any visit that was less than perfect to be the exception; we havent had that experience yet.

Our family has seen Dr Steckel for years and we have always been happy with Dr Steckel. I was GREATLY surprised to see that his entire office staff is new! The receptionist Jayna was welcoming, helpful and extremely accommodating. I would without hesitation recommend this practice. Thank you Dr Steckel and new staff!

Dr. Steckel is amazing! We brought our 5 year old son in for a complete eye exam. Our son has autism and no other doctor has been abke to perform an accurate eye exam since he was about 1 year old. From the moment Dr. Steckel walked into the room he had our sons attention - and ours too! Great bedside manner, superior skills in working with children (especially our special little guy), and able to accomplish a complicated exam while entertaining our son and making him laugh! We have been to many doctors, specialists, and offices - none has ever made us feel so comfortable! A real Patch Adams! Thank you Dr. Steckel for doing your job well and showing us that our son could be examined in an office with the right doctor in charge. Office staff was kind and supportive as well. A welcoming place for a family with two special children needs children. ❤

We had such a great experience at Dr Steckel’s office today! My son had made multiple attempts at putting in contact lenses at his previous eye doctor’s office, with no success. The new staff at Dr. Steckel’s office were amazing. They were warm and welcoming and so patient and encouraging with my son. He was finally able to get his contacts in and out of his eyes! Can not thank them enough! We had no issues with scheduling, office was clean and Covid compliant and there was no wait time. As always Dr. Steckel was thorough and patiently answered all of our questions. We always love the added bonus of Dr. Steckel’s great sense of humor! Would definitely recommend.

Best eye doctor. My family has been going to Dr. Steckel for years. He always answers all of our questions and explains everything well. He is very accommodating. Twice when my son scratched his cornea, which is very painful, he fit us in without an appointment. We always enjoy our appointment with him because of his great sense of humor. He genuinely cares about his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Steckel.

Yep, the doctor seems short on patience, and the receptionists are even more so. Makes me feel like Im dealing with a government office (e.g. DMV), as opposed to a private practice.Yes, they are busy, but we all are. This medical office experience is unique to this practice, so the issue is largely with them, not with the workload or anything else.

Do not go to this eye Dr. I have a vision plan but the doctor billed as diagnostic not preventative and I therefore was not covered under my insurance and had to pay out of pocket. It was a tremendous waste of time trying to figure it out. His back office is horrible and totally not helpful.

Will never go back to this rude doctor again.he said to e jes doing my exam for free? The rude comment came from him when I asked not to pit the eye drop bottle directly on my eye for the purpose of other peoples diseases

Dr Steckel is the best ophthalmologist I have ever used. Very professional with a great patient manner. My multiple exams over the years have always been thorough with an explanation of results that are precise and easy to grasp. When there is an emergency his staff has always been pleasant and accommodating. I am also aware that he is the go-to Doctor for critical childrens problems--a real local asset to the profession.

He is great. Very comprehensive and sharp. Dont recall the office staff one way or another. Would highly recommend.

Called to make an appt for my son who is 2 years old and has husky. The receptionist had a nasty attitude and spoke condescendingly to me. I dont need any one talking down on me once I say I have husky. They clearly accept husky even if it is case by case. My son failing his eye exam and me having the paperwork of it in my hands should be an acceptable case. Rude staff. I wouldnt bother going there even with a referral. Me having husky doesnt give anyone the right to speak to me rudely.

Dr Steckel is a very good opthalmologist, and has a caring attitude. He has told me on several occasions to just buy drugstore glasses rather then try to upsell me on much more expensive prescription glasses. I have not experienced the long waits that others have written about nor rude staff members. I would highly recommend.

My young daughter called me CRYING in the car after her appointment. She stated Dr. Steckel was 45 minutes late, was extremely rude. Could not explain why she had a 4th episode in 1 year of severe inflammation, told her its not a big deal, very curt, snippy with her, and rushed.No matter WHAT the medical issues are, severe or imagined - if a young adult walks in to your office with real concern of an eye condition and leaves in tears - not a result of the medical issues, but as a result of the doctors terrible demeanor and treatment of the patient, I find this incomprehensible and tragic. He made my daughter feel much worse, like she was stupid and he had no time for her.

Dr Steckel himself was fine not bad not great. But the service was awful. We waited 2 hours the first visit and 1 hour the second. Just to get in the room. I highly dislike him but only because the waiting and the receptionist was not was very kind.

My daughter and I both recently started seeing Dr. Steckel and we have been very happy with him and his team. I waited less than 10 minutes from my appointment time to be brought into an exam room.

The doctor was very thorough, but the office help... needs some help. The are rude, lack compassion, and are inpatient. Additionally, one time the receptionist had her daughter and granddaughter there behind the glass with her.

He is every honest and do well his job.

Dr. Steckel is a wonderful doctor. He has given my daughter glasses that no other doctor could do properly with proper prescription. Dr. steckel also has the patience of a saint, I am very grateful and lucky to have him taking care of my daughters vision. Thank you Dr. steckel.CHLOES MOM !!!

I have been seeing Dr. Steckel for almost 17 years and have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He was the doctor that urged my parents to have a biopsy performed when there appeared to be something wrong with my left eye in 2000. The biopsy confirmed that I had a cancerous tumor behind my eye. I have been cancer-free since 2001 and STILL choose to go to Dr. Steckel in particular so many years later because he is incredible and means so much to my family. I could not ask for a more personable, knowledgeable, and patient doctor. Great sense of humor, wonderful with children, tells you what you need and want to know. Highly recommend seeing Dr. Steckel.

Staff is rude, dont expect a smile from them. They claim to be pediatric but have no patience with small kids, including the doctor. Didnt discuss or explain the results and seemed to be in a rush to end visit. Maybe they overbook and want to get rid of you fast. Anyways, Im not going back there...

This doctor is very rude, impatient and the waiting time is exaggerated, I had to wait an hour and a half , and when I asked why they were delaying so much the doctor said derogatory that my insurance was husky! ! So I guess that the treatment of patients depends on how rich you are, or what kind insurance you have. Very bad experiencie!

The Doctor there is okay.. It is the ride receptionist. Very unprofessional laughed when i called to verify an appointment for my 7mo old son and since I called at 4:58 she didn’t want to take 2 seconds to flip a page. I will be missing this appointment and will not be going back.

OMG!!! I just called and tried to make an appointment. I had a chat with receptionist. She started puffing and huffing as soon as I asked her twice what dates are available and she was telling me instead that I can schedule for an appointment in the morning or in afternoon. Sorry, after that I didnt want even to make an appointment.
