I have the utmost respect for staff members. Professional and courteous service by veterans serving veterans. They embody and emulate VA values to the highest level. I love my veterans .

Arrived at 1:00pm due to having a terrible heart pain.Im not from here, I currently live 4 hours away in Hinesville but was here for a different appointment at a different location when I began having chest pains. The lady that took my vitals was clearly grumpy and not having it (although its Friday).Checked in at 1:00pm on the dot.Walked up to the counter at 6:00pm after waiting FIVE HOURS only to be told that there are still 7 people in front of me and it may be another 3 to 4 hours till I get seen.I require a CPAP in order to get a decent nights rest, that way I can be fully rested especially to drive long distances. I didnt think Id be spending the night out here so I left my CPAP at home. And worst of all, I cant drive good at night. So either I stay another 3-4 hours (till 9-10pm / minimum) to get seen and then have to gamble my drive home AT NIGHT and hope I dont crash!-OR-I stay, get out late, sleep in a hotel with NO CPAP and potentially NOT wake up/choke in my sleep or wake up tired & attempt the 4 hour drive back home and once again gamble and hope I dont crash or fall asleep on the wheel.-OR-Just walk out, leave home now and expect the worst, hope for the best!Wish me luck, my life is in Gods hands now!You woulda thought the VA system woulda learned after that veteran committed suicide in a VA parking lot for THIS VERY SAME REASON!!!

Ghetto! Lack of professionalism from my ethnic group/ race. No privacy due to medical questions being asked in front of other patients purposely. Vulgar language from staff when they feel comfortable on the overnight shift. Extremely ghetto, I would not recommend!

Spent 8 hours in the ER, my nurse didnt care, it took her 4 attempts the draw blood and afterwards she disappeared. When I was transported someone took my wheelchair. You hire asswholes and claim they are veteran friendly. Rather pull CQ for 72 hours straight, then go back there

Super slow. Not very friendly. Dirty and falling apart. Veterans deserve better. Drive over an hour to come to the ER and thus far have been waiting an hour in excruciating pain and the only thing they’ve done to help is give me a vomit bag. Worst hospital I’ve ever come across. Highly recommend asking your local street corner drug dealer for medications before coming here. It’ll be quicker and probably better service all around.

Walked in with crippling abdominal pain(to the point I couldnt see). After waiting around for hours with little to nothing done I walked out with Tylenol, no guesses to what is wrong and crippling abdominal pain. When can we force politicians to use the VA like veterans?

I had to check into administration before going to the emergency room because Im new to the area. After I filled out my paperwork I went back to the emergency room and when my wrist band was printed it had male on it. Im not a male nor do I want to be. I believe someone in the office was trying to be funny. All black doesnt mean youll be treated well by blacks. Other people in the hospital were willing to do their jobs without the bull.

I am absolutely thrilled with the Atlanta VA Medical Center Emergency Room!! I had to go there in October for breathing issues. I was so humbled by my experience. From the time I got there until the time I left, I was treated like royalty. I was seen about 10 minutes after arrival. When I was put in a room, all the personnel did all they could to make me comfortable. From the nurses and doctors to the one cleaning the rooms to the transporter. I was fed — yes, FED—lunch. I was there for 8.5 hours, but my care was so thorough, that I had no problem with it. I have no sad song to sing about the Atlanta VA Medical Center Emergency Room. Thank you for such an awesome experience!

I checked and registered my dad into the ER VA on June 20, 2020 after he was transported to Cobb WellStar by ambulance. There was a very minimal wait in the waiting room. The doctor said “today is your lucky day with almost no wait”. Go play the lottery, LOL (a little humor) After severe testing and monitoring the VA admitted my dad for a heart attack which doctors believed occurred (2 days prior.). He was originally treated at WellStar for fatigue and tremors, however something did not sit right in my spirit. To my surprise A HEART ❤️ ATTACK Everyone was extra nice, the doctor took time to answer my dozen of questions, patiently providing me with clarification. Two other women took the time to explain the basic test which they administer in the local ER to treat Symptoms oppose to the VA monitoring, reviewing history, past records, and ask questions to determine whether to perform a more comprehensive test and work up. Staff even took the time to print material for me to read gaining more information on his test results and diagnosis. There is a shifting taken place in the atmosphere. There will be some who retire and purged out opening doors for the righteous, prophetic, anointed one lead by the Holy Spirit of God to not only care for the sick , but who will also heal. You will begin to see a shift in care, a shift and service, and a shift in the way individuals treat one another. In true Love ❤️ 🖤🤍. The Land of the Free is being healed.

Parking for ER was a bit inconvenient as I had a foot injury but after the trek in I was directed to the check in by a helpful police officer and another employee. I did have to wait approximately an hour to check in, (in which time, at least two other folks went ahead and left without being seen) but once I was checked in, I was seen within about 30 minutes, and was on my way out within two hours of having shown up which I feel was in line with any ER in any major city. Staff was helpful, professional, and accommodating of all patients in the waiting area, and I saw a doctor flagged down by a patient who had been discharged but was having issues with his bandage and the doctor took him right back to fix his dressing and sent him on his way. Overall a very good experience.

What is it going to take for the Atlanta VA Hospital to treat our Veterans with respect. My husband has been to this facility multiple times only to be moved from waiting room to waiting room, have his name called and misses it because he was moved, experience mass confusion on where he should/needs to be, and be told he only can have ONE NON REFILLABLE prescription for TEN pain pills with he had TWO broken ribs (proven by x-rays).

Worse rated VA in the Country. With good cause its not an ER its a nightmare. the staff are right off the street corner. It is dirty. this VA has been sited more than once or more then 10 or more times for the dirt in the halls an hiding waste. If you complain the VA police are called on you. If you go there Record them it may save your life. people die here. call the White house complaint line start a log. this is a chop shop not an emergency room

Needless to say truly disappointed in the representation of this Veterans Affairs hospital. Arrived at the patient check-in via the ER which was pretty much packed only to be greeted and prompted with attitude. Well I will just gladly go down the street to Emory and be treated like a patient.

Went to the Atlanta VA emergency room as I had moved from Miami to Atlanta. I get a treatment every 6 weeks, and I needed my treatment. I was in the waiting room for 8 hours waiting to see a doctor, when I finally saw a doctor after 2 more hours, I was told they would contact the Miami VA. Well, the doctor came back 2 hours later to inform me that she has got in contacted with the clinic that I need and I will have to call tomorrow as they can’t give me the meds I need here. I am in pain, haven’t been offered for the whole day, missed work, and am not any step closer to resolving my issue. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to.

Here with my husband who had a really bad case of pink eye. We were concerned as he is already blind in the other eye so we can’t afford for the vision in his one good eye to be impacted. We came to the ER after being told the VA team at Fort McPherson couldn’t help us. The staff were caring and were able to get my hubby in, treated, and provide a prescription in about 2.5hrs. There are multiple parking garages but parking is tight so you will need to be patient. They also have valet if you are willing to pay. I was fine waiting for a free parking spot which is not the case at other hospitals.

I would give this place no stars if I could. The VAs you hear horror stories about on the news? This is the embodiment of every negative thing you have ever heard about a VA. The bulk of the staff in the ER is very unprofessional and does not care about patients, their rights or their privacy. They are rude and condescending, give conflicting answers about care, and you can hear well across the wing HIPAA protected information. I have learned all about the mental health of several patients so far. The receptionist blatantly rolled her eyes when I asked about an update. You will wait for hours on end even if you come in going into anaphylactic shock. But hey, at least theyll put you in the hall to die with your battlebuddies.
