I scheduled an appointment to inquire about Invisalign because I have a crooked upper tooth that I would like to fix. I put the appointment in my calendar incorrectly and realized I was running about 15 minutes behind while I was on my way to the appointment and called to let them know. The staff was so kind and accommodating and they were still able to see me when I got there. After doing some photos and x-rays, the orthodontist came to speak to me about my options. She recommended I go to a dentist as opposed to getting Invisalign because it is a better option for my situation. She told me exactly what to tell the dentist and even sent the information to my dentist for me. It is obvious that they care about what is best for their patients and not just about making money. Once I get my tooth fixed, I will definitely be going back to them get a retainer. I highly recommend them to anyone needing orthodontic work because their staff is awesome and they will give you the best option for your situation.

I’ve had the BEST orthodontic experience at Boyd Orthodontics! I lived in the area temporarily and they were incredibly accommodating to help me finish my treatment while away from my home office. I moved from out of state and did not have an orthodontist in town when I broke my bonded retainer. It was very uncomfortable so I called Dr. Boyd’s office and got in on the same day. Everyone was so friendly and got me in quickly. I was in and out in 25 minutes with a new retainer and no more pain!

I called Boyd Orthodontics for replacement retainer after I lost mine. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and even worked around my class schedule to fit me in for an appointment because she knew I was a college student. Upon visiting the office for my appointment, I was warmly greeted by three woman at the front desk. They had big smiles and took the time to ask me how my day was. It was a memorable first impression. The nurse that took my impressions was also super personable and made me feel really comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Boyd came over and introduced himself to me and made sure my impressions looked good. He too was super friendly, professional and thorough. All of the staff made an effort to welcome me into the office. I was able to pick up my retainer that same day which was so convenient. My daughter is a student at USC and recently lost her retainer while at school. She called home to ask me (her Dad/Orthodontist) what she should do as she is extremely paranoid about her teeth moving. Since she was 7 hours from home, I was in no position to get her into my office to make a replacement. As I Googled the Columbia area for an orthodontic colleague to see her, I remembered that Dr. Boyd practiced in Columbia. I had seen him lecture before and also had read some of the articles hed written. I also knew that he was an orthodontist with an excellent reputation and who had not only given back to his community, but also his profession. He was my choice to take care of my daughter. My daughters initial phone call was received by a friendly voice by his receptionist, who arranged for convenient retainer replacement appointment. When she arrived at Dr. Boyds beautiful and patient-friendly downtown office, she was warmly greeted and seen promptly for her appointment. Dr. Boyd and his entire team were very professional and personable and made my daughters visit a wonderful experience. I had a horrible experience today. I was a patient of Mr Boyd. I went to have my attachments removed. I paid $150. I dont know if he was having a bad day but was a totally different person from when i first meet him. His staff is excellent all of them. But anyway he was very ruff with me. He didnt speak when he entered the room with me. He was pulling so hard on my lip it split and was bleeding. When he was done he told me to put my mask back on. Remind you he did not offer to rinse the acrylic pieces out my mouth. When i got to my vehicle i removed my mask and my face and nose had sooo much white residue from the stuff off my teeth alll i could do was go and cry. I work in a nail salon so i know what acrylic can do to you.I have recommend so many people here but NEVER again and i will keep telling bout my experience!!!!!!!

We absolutely love Dr. Boyd and his staff. We have been seeing them for 6 years, many years before my daughter ever got her braces and we love everything about their office. We drive all the way from Lexington, because we love the way we are treated at Dr. Boyd’s office. The staff are so warm and welcoming and I couldn’t imagine going elsewhere. My daughter loves how great everyone is at Dr. Boyd’s office.

My youngest son got braces at Dr. Boyds office six years ago. My son is autistic, and dentist/doctor appointments can be very difficult for him. Dr. Boyd is awesome and so is his staff. They never treated my son with impatience, even when it was difficult for him to comply with their directions. On top of the wonderful chair-side manner of the staff, which is reason enough to choose Dr. Boyd and his offices, they are also at the forefront of orthodontic technology. When we originally went in for a consultation, we had previously been told that the only way to correct my sons teeth would be through oral surgery, and that we should just leave well enough alone. Dr. Boyd immediately said that the dentist who had given us that advice was wrong and that braces would fix the problem, but it would take about four years. Well, he was wrong about that. It only took three years before my son got his braces off and he has a perfect smile to show for it. Recently (and this is after a full two years of no contact from us), my sons permanent retainer came out and we had to call to get an appointment. Not only did they know who was calling without me even having to say who I was, they managed to get us an appointment for the next day. All of the staff who had been there at his last appointment still remembered him, and the new staff is just as awesome and helpful as the rest. I cant recommend Dr. Boyd highly enough.

We have just returned to the Columbia area and would have none other than Boyd Orthodontics complete our youngest childs braces. We have experienced nothing but the best care and great relationships with Dr. Boyd and his staff. We dont live close to the office anymore but its certainly worth every mile we drive to get there to have the most expert, personal and confident care.

Dr. Boyd and his orthodontic team did my braces when I was in middle school. I had them for 23 months! I ended up needing a second round of braces on my bottom teeth a couple of years or so after that. Those he put on free of charge. Which he didn’t have to do because I’m pretty sure it was because I didn’t wear my retainer and my teeth moved. Recently, I broke something on my permanent wire retainer and was able to get an appointment immediately. I went back this morning for the first time in, I don’t know, 7 or 8-ish years. I got there early and was right back out the door before the time my appointment was even scheduled for. Check in, repair retainer, check out. Done. The staff was as pleasant as always. It was nice to see a couple of familiar faces after such a long time!

Very professional and dedicated staff. They work very diligently and ensure that customers expectations are met. Orthodontics are not cheap, but they work with anyone to meet their financial threshold. If you work all week and cannot meet their schedule, may have to work something else. Their businesses are closed on Saturdays.

My son had trouble doing the mold for a retainer and the technician was patient and professional and chose a different route. Overall, a great experience for an often uncomfortable process.

I have been a patient since Nov 2017. I have no complaints regarding my experience here. I must sat that out of all the techs that have worked on my braces, my tech this morning was the most gentle. I think her name is Jan or Jenn, but I told her this at my appointment. I dont think they realize how sensitive our teeth are when wearing braces and the process to remove and replace the bands around the brackets can be painful. I appreciate her for taking her time and being so gentle with me. Dr. Boyd seems very knowledgeable abt his profession and very caring and professional towards his patient. I cant leave out the ladies at the front desk. Always smiling amd greet you as soon as you walk in and the exit process is seamless. I have already recommended a few people to this office. Thank u guys for your services!

Holy crap! This orthodontist and his staff are freaking amazing. Truly, other than USAA, I have never encountered another establishment/company that conducts themselves in a manner that is genuinely compassionate, empathetic, while remaining appropriately professional. I recommend this office-- I believe theres another one--to anyone that needs any sort of orthodontic help. They will not urge you to bind yourself to any contract, nor pressure you to get anything that you cannot afford. However, they will help as much as they possibly can, and really listen to you, if you require and want their services.They provide excellent customer service; definitely check them out.

Dr boys did my braces and both my siblings braces. I just went in for a consult for Invisalign because I never wore my retainer... Instead of suggesting the costly Invisalign he recommended a treatment plan that would be a third of the cost and time... They also offer very reasonable in house payment plans at no interest!

Dr. Boyd and his staff are wonderful. I have used another orthodontist before for my oldest daughter. Compared to that orthodontist, Dr Boyd was far more accommodating and patient in explaining all the treatment options to us for a rather complicated case. He did not try to stream roll us with an impressive display of spatial ortho mumbo jumbo, but rather explained everything simply and patiently providing more detail when we inquired, demonstrating a deep and though understanding of his craft. The treatment for my 8 year old daughter has been very pleasant. When I needed additional dental advice unrelated to orthodontics for one of my other children, he took the time to recommend the best cosmetic/restorative dentist in the city and even made the referral all free of charge. My daughter loves going to visit because the staff spoils her. Dr. Boyd and his staff are top notch.

Dr Boyd is the best orthodontist in the state. He is exremely professional and yet he treats all his patients as if they are close friends or family. His staff is wonderful and they all seem like they love their work. I would never go anywhere else.
