While it does frusturate me that my GPS takes me to what I later found out was the back end of the building lol Thats NOT Moncrief s fault and my husband was able to direct me to the front of the building with ease:) My son and daughter have both been a couple times and every person that weve came in contact with has been great! The wait times are the shortest I have EVER experienced with ANY On- Post Clinic/ Hospital! The guys that took my daughters x- rays were absolutely wonderful with her. The lady that drew my.daughters blood was also so sweet woth her also. The lady who vaccinated my eldest son was so kind to him and didnt give him a hard time about his fear of needles. I have just always had great experiences with this clinic.

The only kind person was the lady at the front desk. Both the Dr and the lady doing immunizations were rude (which was not the normal immunization nurse. She said she was filling in for her) and I felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. This was our first time here since we moved and I will be calling Tricare to switch Drs

Had an appointment for over two weeks (first available). The morning of the appointment the doctor calls out sick. The hospital calls you to tell you but refuses to reschedule the appointment. You have to call the main appointment line and beg to see if they can work you in. Inefficiency at its best. No other military hospital I’ve dealt with has such ridiculous policies. They reschedule you either same day or the next.

It’s interesting how many negative reviews are being written but nothing is getting done, which is exactly why the Army is failing to take care of their own. I recently PCS’ed from a different state and I am currently doing my two weeks of quarantine to which I do not have a provider. I have had back problems a couple months prior to arriving here and a few days ago I went to urgent care because I just couldn’t handle the pain. The civilian at the front desk was professional and the Sergeant who checked me in was as well. It wasn’t until I seen the doctor that I had problems. She cut me off every time I tried to explain to her my issue. She checked my X-ray and said I had no broken bones (clearly). My spouse asked why I didn’t get an MRI to which she sarcastically said, “because you need a provider”. A follow up question was about to be asked, but she walked out, laughed and told her colleagues about what we asked. To which we confronted her and everyone in there to tell us where we can get the proper care. A specialist stepped up and gave us some very knowledgeable information, meanwhile the female doctor was trying to argue saying I told her one thing when the whole time she wasn’t even listing in the first place getting the information I told her wrong. It’s very disappointing that we have to work absurd hours only to be bombarded by disrespectful civilians like her. Nothing is going to be done with anything that is being written because you have to care to make a change, but this is to inform anyone of what you will have to deal with when going into the acute care clinic.

At the beginning of March this year my wife woke up with severe pain radiating from her neck, shoulder and arm. I took her to urgent care where she was x-rayed, given pain pills and released with no cause of the pain found. Three days later with no decrease in the pain level we returned again to urgent care only to once again be given pain meds and released. Her Primary care doctor at Moncrief suggested she have an MRI done and it was scheduled and done the following Tuesday at radiology. At this point she has been in pain for 10 days. We were told the results would passed on to her Primary Care doctor and we should know the results the following day. The next Tuesday, day 17 of being in pain, her primary care doctor contacted us and said it looked like she might have a bone spur in her neck and that we should have her neurologist at MUSC look at the MRI. Radiology said once it was requested they would have it sent by overnight delivery. I provided her neurologist all the needed information to request the Mri. After checking for the next two weeks I was told it was not received. At this point in time it has been a month since the pain began. which over the last few weeks has caused her left arm to twitch and have muscle spasms on and off all day long. I have informed both her Primary care and Neurologist of these worsening events and have received absolutely no response. Finally after a month with no one doing a thing and having no definite results from her MRI, I took the disk with her MRI to a private doctor and paid to find out what it showed. He said it showed swelling and compression around her C5 and to get her to a specialist as soon as possible to be treated. i have now been trying to get an authorization from Tricare for over a week and have repeatedly left messages at the 751-2273 appointment line which has been a total waste of time. Now I would like to know what the definition of a primary care doctor is because I use to think it was someone that was responsible for treating and or making sure the patient is taken care of. Seeing as there has been none of that and my wife now is in her sixth week of pain my only hope at having her taken care of is to schedule an appointment at a pain clinic and never mention having insurance through Tricare East. The entire process of having a referral request put in only from her primary care doctor is a joke.

Worst appointment and pharmacy experience I ever had. I was seen 40 minutes behind my scheduled appointment time and my PCM quickly referred me to an outside provider after talking to me for just 5 minutes. Waited three more weeks to be seen by an outsider provider. As to the pharmacy, I don’t understand why I had to spend two hours on the phone trying to fill new prescriptions. I came to the pharmacy but was turned back to call before I can come in. I had to wait for another hour before I can actually come in to pick up. I’m from another duty station so I was shocked by the low efficiency here.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Terrible service. Couldnt book a 4 month well baby for my infant over the central appointments line. Staff member was rude. Very difficult getting ahold of my pediatrician and difficulty getting an appointment for my baby after just being discharged from the NICU and neonatologists were insistent that she have a follow up appoint the next business day. Fix your systems and create more openings for sick infants. At Tripler I NEVER had a problem getting seen same day for a sick infant.

RUDE. RUDE, RUDEDue to fever, I called around 9pm to ensure the clinic is open. Receptionist on the phone told me they close at 11pm. Risking my life driving 8 miles there, only found out the front door was closed. There were Soldiers sitting inside lobby saw me knocking, but no one gets up to ask whats going on. Specialist staff and a security guard ignored eye contacts period, as if I was air. I would at least appreciate some one could at least tell me that they are closed not seeing patients at this time.I was forced to come back to hotel room at 1000pm, with high fever. Oh, BTW, one of the medicine they gave me last night had a wrong count. 18 tablets in the package. But they changed the qual6to 36. How did that even happen.

Probably the worst, slowest, pharmacy Ive ever used. Its constantly full no matter what time of day of retirees. Which is fine but their system cannot handle the amount of people that come there daily. I know people that have waited hours for their medication even in uniform.

The specialists there seem thorough and the staff is friendly but I feel like the facility needs to reevaluate its staffing needs. When I was trying to go through physical therapy they had to book appts a month out, which made getting therapy done nearly impossible so I just stopped going! I tried to go to the pharmacy once and just to wait to activate my medicine would have been an hour! Then I think it was another hour wait to pick up the medicine! That is just uncalled for.The eye dr was nice but there offices could really use an update as they didn’t even have sinks in the exam room for me to remove my contacts. This may all really not be their fault so much as government funding of such facilities but it’s very sad that our hard working military members, veterans and their families get the short end of the stick when it’s comes to medical care. This is why I am giving it 3 stars. The facility as a whole needs a lot of improvement!

Pharmacy is a joke. Why open at 7:30am and not have enough staff? Wait times can be up to 3+ hours. Who has time to just wait all day? Staff can be rude and rules change depending on the staff working. Its ridiculous. This pharmacy is a joke.

Worst and slowest pharmacy I’ve ever been to. I was an escort to someone in oral surgery. Had a note saying they needed prioritize my prescription. There was only three people waiting but it still took 45 minutes for them to fill my prescription because all the people in the back were too busy BSing. Trash pharmacy that needs to hire people who don’t suck.

My wife has visited Moncrief on two different occasions for serious issues, and both times she was treated with the upmost bedside manners, very thorough treatment to meet her needs, and patient education along with proper medication to go home with. She was kept for hours only to be made to feel comfortable and safe with the kind staff, which I thank, when I was on active duty! Thank you for being there to help my wife and being so amazing to her! She said, yall excelled her expectations and past experiences with other medical providers. By far the best for wives or anyone in need of medical care!

Its a blessing to have such a place to help with my prescriptions and exams to help with cost. I will not complain because no matter where you go there is always something that someone is not happy about. Sometimes we just have to be patient and be thankful for Moncrief Health Clinic to help people especially with no cost to us. Im sure their days are not always good days like any of us and they do help hundreds of people day by day. Yes, the building might be old and sometimes the people might even have attitudes but our meds are no cost and sometimes it just takes a smile or a few words of encouragement to change someones whole day! Thank you Moncrief Army Health Clinic!

My family has been seen at the Moncrief Medical Home clinic for the past four years. It has been a very good experience overall. The nurses, lab techs, pharmacists and doctors have been professional and helpful. Our average wait time in the lobby is probably ten minutes, and Pharmacy wait time is often less than that. Getting an appointment with a PCM is another story, but the clinic employees cant control that; I think its a matter of supply and demand. We are about to PCS, and we will miss the good folks at MMH.

Audiologist that provided care to me was very snarky, rude, and abrasive. She told me that a doctor was wrong and that there is nothing wrong with my hearing (Im in dire need of hearing aids). During the test she yelled at me to click the button when I heard tones (I couldnt hear any) and started guessing because she was getting upset that I couldnt hear them. She had an awful attitude the entire appointment, which I had to drive two hours to get to.

Considering the treatments and service I have received at military and civilian medical locations, throughout my life, the care I have received at Moncrief Army Health Clinic has been first rate. No, they are no longer a full hospital, but the staff here have always been quick to make a referral off-post, if that was what was necessary.

I cant believe some people actually think they give good treatment here. Been going here for the past 5 years, my husband just retired and thankfully I now have the option to see a civilian doctor off post. So far my new doc is great. He spends quality time with me, checks everything throughly, and refers me out right away without any hestitation if its something he knows he isnt equipped to handle.

I wish I can give a half star because the experience at this clinic was beyond sub par. First and foremost a majority of the staff speaks to you in a condescending manner. Next point, some of the civilian nursing staff dont let you get a single word in and dictate any sign and symptoms to their convince.Translation to second point: my wife goes in to get a second opinion for a pregnancy confirmation due to inconsistency of results, nurse immediately throws it in her face saying well it shows a negative so thats how its going to be. My wife asked if there was a possibility to request lab work where she was instantly told No, Im not going to order any lab work. This became an extremely upsetting situation for my wife due to the fact we had a similar experience before our PCS which in a miscarriage. After my wife left extremely upset and in tears the nurse called and all of the sudden offered the labs stating You could do lab work but its gonna tell me the same thing, now you can come in today or whenever convenient. Some will say that impatience was exercised on our behalf however, there still a certain extent to treating a patient with respect when it was given to the staff by us to begin with. When given the run around and that lack of respect is demonstrated, it is within the patients right to defend and stand up for themselves.
