Some of the people who work have a very bad way to treat people who are interns. The director of the center has no manners.

Decent experience, but kind of got the feeling that only a few people cared while I was there.

Not very flexible while all the while wanting you to be flexible. Food was horrible, many of the techs were barely eligible to babysit a toddler much less trying to reign in drug addicts going through withdrawals, emotional , and addiction problems. Their are plenty of good ppl there. If you dont subscribe to the 12 steps dont come here . If youre not ready to get clean dont go anywhere. Its typical of a state run facility with ineptitude running amuck. Staff has no shortage of nonsensical rules while many of them sleep at night wasting tax payer dollars.Silver linings; met a ton of great ppl there and enjoyed group therapy between my cottage mates. If youre down and out and dont have nothing to your name its available for you and can get help with assistance after you leave if your case manager feels like you deserve it. If you have insurance or money go somewhere else. Good luck-

This program is 28 days long. Morris Village really helps with addiction if you want the help. If you dont wanna be clean then dont waste a bed space that someone else could really use. The staff is wonderful and very concerned about your well being. Ms. Tammy is the best case manager she will do everything she possibly can to help you throughout your stay. She will get your appointments ready as soon as she has time as she is very busy. If you are suffering from heroin addiction and come to the program they will keep you as comfortable as possible on maintenance doses of suboxone the day you get in cottage 3. This is the only state facility that allows smoking so thats a plus. Everyday is filled with classes to give you tools to stay clean when you leave. You are required from 6:30-7:30 to attend an AA or NA meeting which isnt so bad. The speakers are always happy to be there to talk to you. Most of them do have very interesting stories about the past when their addiction was at its height and how they began recovery. All in all its a great program for those who WANT to work the program.

I think the staff could’ve been a little friendlier when addressing visitors. If that’s a sign of how the patients are treated, I can’t see how positive results are expected.

Love this place, when I had no family, friends, shelter, food, had lost my job, had no money, was sleeping outside, this place saved my life.

Place is an absolute disgrace and a scam. BEWARE!! There are a lot of other places to go seek treatment. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

It may not be the Hilton but if you want to stay Clean & sober this is the start! Unfortunately the state of SC cares not much about addicts but MV and its staff absolutely does! Greatful!

I was in another program before this in Liberty, lets just say it was on that was very relgion based. The other addicts acted judgemental and like they were perfect after a week clean. I left and my probation officer made me go to Morris Village. I honestly didnt want to go because I was already clean for four months and didnt feel like I need to go.Im glad I did.Classes are provided daily as well as group therapy and recreational period. I was also provided with a mental health counselor to talk through my problems. The classes are full of great information. Group therapy was one of my favorite things and allowed to open up and relate it with fellow addicts. The daily (except Sundays) NA/AA meetings are held at 6:30pm where each night a new speaker comes to speak. Recreation held by the coach includes: ping-pong, fooseball, cards, there is also an acoustic guitar for you to play and a stereo for music therapy. There is also a weight room with a lot of nice equipment if you want to workout. On sunny days there is a basketball court, baseball field (gloves, balls, bats provided) and horse shoes. Also, on selected days the coach holds special group bonding activites with a meaning relating to recovery. Coach is a good guy, funny and has style! You are provided with one of 4-5 of the caseworkers upon arrival. My caseworker was Cindy. Im glad that I lucked up and got her because she is such a nice and authentically caring person! You can smoke which is a plus to me as I am a smoker. The food is really good and the kitchen staff is very friendly.I was on Team C and went from cottage 4. Frank one of the nurses would bring great movies almost every night (while I was there I saw A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Venom, Split, Slenderman,. The Nun and many others). Frank is a really good guy and is hillarious.Snacks are provided after the NA meeting to cap the night off as you watch TV or a movie. The nurses were so nice on Team C they took their time to go get tons of snacks (noodles, frozen pizzas, chips, soft drinks, cookies) and let us play bingo twice while I was there to win prizes. They were playing later the day that I left. This was so nice because the cost of the snacks came out of their own pockets and they had a lot of stuff like a whole wagon full. Not to mention their is a comrodery between you and the other guys. I made a lot of great people and made plenty of new friends. I talk to several of them still.I really cant say enough good things about the place.Thank you Morris Village for helping me in my recovery it is greatly appreciated!!
