I was the first one in the ER, a couple of people came in after me. I am having abdominal pain and was told to come by my dr. They let a guy who busted his lip go ahead of me along with several other people. This use to be a good hospital. The staff at the desk are rude. I have waited over 2 hours and haven’t even been triaged yet but the guy with the busted lip that wasn’t bleeding and only had to be seen because it was work related has been and is in the back.

Just terrible. A few months ago, my wife had trouble breathing so took her to the Emergency Room. They gave her a scan, fluids, and steroids then sent her home the same day. The bill from that visit was nearly $10,000.There is also an error on a bill we received regarding the allowed amount from insurance, I have pointed out the error to them but they keep sending the same bill without the correction. Very frustrating. Avoid this hospital if you can.

A close friend had a medical emergency and died Friday, June 4, 2021. He was transported to the ER at Parkridge. Upon arrival, we were immediately escorted to a consultation room. We had not received any details at this point as to the condition of our friend. A few minutes later, the door opened and a security guard told us they were sorry for our loss. We said “So he has died?”. Keep in mind, we had not seen a doctor yet. Then administrator and doctor came in and began questioning our friends wife. Our friends wife finally said, “so is he dead?”. Doctor then confirmed. Wife asked to see her spouse and they said they would prepare for us to view him. When we were called and escorted back to the room to view, they still the tube in his mouth that maintained the open airway, had not closed his eyes, and blood on the sheet and floor. I know they are not funeral directors, but would seem prep would at least involved removing the airway tube, closing eyes, and placing a clean sheet on the body. Our friends wife on numerous occasions offered her husbands Medicare card and the administrator kept saying it was not needed each time it was offered (3x). We then thought we were done after viewing and having the administrator escort us out. Next thing we know we are chased out in the parking lot by registration to register the deceased. Additionally, every time we passed through the ER lobby we were told to “have a good day” even though we had passed through multiple times and it was evident from our anguish we weren’t going to be having a good day. These people need sensitivity training and a proper protocol established for these occasions.

Let me start by saying the hospital staff is great. This is one place you can be treated and not have to deal with a snotty attitude. Their staff treats you with respect. Now the security is normally great as well, but last night they had a very confrontational heavy set Caucasian woman at the emergency room exit. She was on a power trip for what ever her reason may have been. He she has no compassion and does not pay attention. I was in er for 2-3 hrs with my son who was running a fever. I stopped at the nurses station to inform them I was going to my car to grab some money for the vending machine went to my car and was back in less than 60 seconds. When I got back I almost passed her and then I guess she realized she wasnt doing her job. Her attitude was aggressive and confrontational. If I would have mirrored her 9 out of 10 I would have been escorted off the property. I left the staff and the male guard tried to stop me but I explained to them her attitude is out of order and I will take my son elsewhere to be seen. She had no respect for me nor my sick son. She should not be in a such a good hospital. Her approach said Im unpressional, my company did not train me they just through me out here, my upbringing was poor I was not taught respect. Overall the hospital separate from that is very good but beware of the hostile confrontational security guard woman looking to boost her ego by harassing people and speaking to them crazy for no reason.

Worst experiences with them!! I don’t even think they deserve 1 star!! I don’t understand how they are still operating. My daughter waited 15 hrs and was not seen for an allergic reaction she had loss of feeling in her hands and feet, swelling and discolored. Thankfully she was able to see her doctor Monday literally within hrs of leaving there and get prescribed steroids and referral to a neurologist to make sure there isn’t any permanent damage. They have no regard for “emergency” situations and don’t treat them as such. And the front desk staff is very rude too!!!!!

Wife was taken by ambulance on saturday to the ER. I was allowed in her room about 20 minutes after she arrived. The nurse, Ashley, who took care of her was great. She was constantly checking on her and letting us know what was going on. My wife was transferred to the 4th floor for further testing. Her 4th floor nurse on Saturday evening was good, the nurse Saturday night was horrible, but any bad experience we may have had was erased by the nurse she had on Sunday and Monday. Amber was terrific, she checked on her frequently, answered all the questions I had and kept me informed while my wife was out of the room having tests run. Amber is truly an awesome representative of the hospital and nursing staff and deserves accolades from managment for her care, compassion and devotion to her duty and her patients. Thank you Amber, you were a calming voice to 2 people who were very concerned about what was going on, a true blessing.

My husband was severely beaten after being attacked by his coworker. When I arrived to the hospital he came walking out and collapsed in my car begging just to go home. I convinced him to go back immediately as it was very evident he had a severe concussion. The staff would not even get me a wheelchair to get him into the er. They were very rude the entire time. They did not even offer him so much as Tylenol to help with the pain. I wish I could post the pictures to show how severe the beating was. They also ( knowing he was a victim of assault ) refused to call the police when asked.

I had my son back in June. I’m now pregnant again and I’m so terrified of having the same nurse again. I was yelled at, told if I couldn’t handle pain why did I get pregnant. My concerns weren’t listened to by her she rushed me when I needed to wait till after a contraction to move. She lectured me over and over again each contraction when i didn’t do anything wrong! I didn’t have an attitude I was just in pain and handling it as best I could with a failed epidural and no pain meds. She didn’t believe me when I said it’s time and that I needed the doctor and she preformed a very painful exam which she seemed to take pleasure in. I loved everything else but her. She ruined the day that was supposed to be the happiest day of my life and il so scared of it happening again.

My purse was then looked in.Is this a hospital a prison or jail?My husband met me at the hospital. He works at a different hospital in the ER. He was denied access. Was told to leave his number and someone would call him with a up date on me. He never got a call. Till I called him and told him to pick me up.There was no one in the waiting room. And they werent busy. I guess covid has gone away. They did a ekg and ask if I was allergic to any meds.I provided a list. They never ask if I was taking any medications. Or if I was pregnant.I was put into a room. Given a IV, 4 baby aspirin and a nitro patch.I was never told what the ekg showed and I had to ask what my BP was. They came in and did a x ray. Never ask if I could be pregnant and never covered me upI then was taken for a cat scan . Wasnt told what or if anything was seen just that my blood work came back and I shouldnt have a heart attack in the next 30 days. They told me to follow up with my doctor or a cardiologist.I left feeling the same way I felt when I went in.They collected payment in full of what their guess of a estimate that my insurance wouldnt cover.Im so disappointed in the care I received. The staff was friendly but I would like to know what is wrong with me.I feel just as bad today as I did when I went in.

I came to the ER about 6 weeks ago with serious abdomen pain, and was very light-headed. My primary doc thought the pain was caused by a stomach ulcers. I had been on the ulcer meds for about 8 weeks, the meds were meant to heal the ulcer. But, were not working. The pain was intense this day and I was very worrisome. The doctor who saw me, first tried to tell me it was chronic stomach pain from weed, I informed her that surely wasnt it, she then accused me of having covid19, i assured her again I did not the pain has lasted for months at this point. Then she blamed my children for the pain. Saying I was stressed bc of them. As soon as she left the room,I left the hospital. Very much in pain but could not trust this doctor!! Turns out its my gallbladder!! She didnt even try! Truly awful!! The nurses were nice though. Dont go here!

Quite literally the doctor came in and looked at it, took a picture of it on her phone, and that was it. Not impressed. FYI dont go here if you are having a stroke or Heart attack, they are not a stroke center, they will make you stable then call a private ambulance to take you to a stroke center. All ERs are not the same. Prisma Health Richland is a level 1 Trauma center, they handle everything, especially Trauma. When in doubt just call 911, and EMS will pick you up and they are highly trained and know which hospital to take you too.

She has severe migraines on occasion and takes Imitrex (not a controlled substance) which usually helps but shes out of it and when she asked (practically begged) them for it the nurse said, We dont give Imitrex. She sat here writhing in pain until she finally passed out! Thats right, the only thing they will do for pain is give you over the counter drugs and let the pain knock you out! We could have done that at home FOR FREE!! And Im sure well be charged thousands of dollars for the privilege! And STILL NO SIGN OF THE DR! The waiting room is empty too so I guess most people had the good sense to go somewhere else or just stay home and wait it out... My husband was admitted through the ER, which was quiet and not crowded, to the ICU for several days. The entire staff were friendly, professional, and approachable. The hospital itself is absolutely gorgeous and does not have that clinical feel. It feels and looks like a luxury hotel. There are no visiting hours -- there is an open door policy 24/7 with friendly but very visible security guards at all hours. I have a major hospital phobia and I was totally comfortable.

The staff working back in the ER were all wonderful, but other than that, my experience was awful. I went in to the ER because the whole night before I had been throwing up even after nothing was left and had severe stomach pains that was probably the most pain Ive ever been in during my life. The staff at the front desk were rarely there the whole 2 hours I waited, and I cried my eyes out from pain in the ER the whole time before they took me back. They didnt even give me a room, they put me on a gurney in the hallway, which when youre in pain and wanting somewhere calm and private to de-stress, a gurney on a hallway with doctors and nurses and patients constantly walking by is not the place. Then it took them another whole hour after I was taken back to give me morphine and put me on fluids. I went to the bathroom and there was no trash can, no soap, no feminine products, and no toilet paper holder. The toilet paper was placed in a hole inside the wall. There were no pads or tampons as mentioned above, and I had to ask a nurse for one, which I never got. When they told us they were releasing me, it took them an hour or so before we got our papers and even longer just for them to get the needle out of my arm which had no fluids coming to it for about 2 hours by the time it was taken out. And come to find out they only gave me anti-nausea medicine, and the severe stomach pains came back this morning after the morphine wore off. While the staff was lovely, they dont make up for everything else. Definitely do not recommend.

This hospital has a very predatory billing department.I always pay my bills on time as soon as i receive them and I dont appreciate the nasty tones in their letters when they send a bill.Nasty attitude... Ill go elsewhere. Other hospitals dont treat you like a criminal.

The nurse staff was very kind. However. The nurse practitioner literally yelled at me for coming in. She told me to find another doctor even though I had spent hundreds of dollars already. She was rude and dismissive of my severe pain.

I sat in this hospital on yesterday early afternoon until evening on yesterday and still had not been seen. When i walked in the ER there was no one there not a single person. There was nurses laughing and playing and on phones, meeting their parents, sitting in the lobby, doctors hanging out in the hall and still hours later no services. ER is packed now and watch a child pass out twice before they took her to the back. I left without being seen at almost 7 and no one cared or checked on me. I have had a mini stroke in the past and I was there because I was having the same symptoms as before and they did not care.

My wife had to be admitted to the ER while pregnant. There was no wait and it was a very pleasant experience. Later she delivered our son there. The staff and and facilities were excellent. Much better than another hospital in Columbia that we delivered our first child at.

My wife and I go there to see primary physicians. Doctors are good but the phone system you need to deal with before you can talk to a person to make an appointment is horrible. Most of the staff seem nice and helpful but someone made a mistake on my chart and it took about a year to fix it because the computer system had a glitch, at least thats what they said.

They take WAY TOO long to see patients. Then when you get to the back, everyone is sitting around like theirs not sick people that needs to be seen. Im tired of coming here and have to sit for hours. I will not be returning to this er .

We experienced a very long wait time at the ER, although the waiting room was nearly empty. The staff was friendly enough, but didnt seem to care that people were waiting for over four hours to be seen by a physician. The billing department has proven to be equally disappointing. After talking with three different people from the Palmetto Health billing department, they still havent managed to properly submit our claim to the insurance office.

We have had to visit the ER here three times over the past few weeks due to illnesses and an injury in our family. On all of these visits the office staff, nurses, and physicians were kind, thorough, and efficient. The facility was clean and modern and the wait time was sufficiently less than I expected.

Horrible hospital. Lexington Cty ER is far superior. The doctors did their job very well, but most of the nurses were these god-awful immature young women for the most part. The nurses around my age of 50 were great. I was in the ICU for pneumonia, and the young nurses acted like it was my responsibility to amuse and compliment them. What I needed was help and it was shocking how difficult it was to get basic help during this ordeal. The worst nurse was named Sandra. The really good ones were Nancy,Darlene, and Caitlyn. But despite the few good nurses, I would highly recommend Lexington County. They’re superior across the board.

14 days in ICU, 7 days in stepdown. Amazing nurses and doctors. Facility spotless. Food was only complaint, always arrived to my room cold. I plan on switching my family doctor over to one that is part of this Palmetto Health System.

I had my son here. I have brought my oldest son into the ER a month ago. We had a great experience each time. I went in with severe stomach pain. Everyone was great in the ER and when I was admitted into the hospital. The only issue, they did a CT scan and found something wrong. The doctor said I was not in enough pain to have that issue. (Even though I had a CT scan and a 45 minute ultrasound to prove that I needed surgery) Turns out all the tests were right on and I had surgery the next day. All the other nurses and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Misdiagnosed broken wrist but not until after a radiologist and two doctors looked at the x-ray. The negligence here is profound. Two nurses had to call radiology 3 times to finally get someone to pull us into the back for the x-ray. The room they may take you to in the back is a chair in a hallway with a curtain around you. The worst part is there are only diet sodas!!! Its like youre adult enough to break your back and drive to the ER but not enough to drink a Coca-Cola with sugar.

I was there this morning and noticed that it you do not have insurance you are pushed to the bottom of the list. There were two people in the waiting area and I waited for three hours and was not seem. Peoples healthcare needs should not be passed over just because of the ability to pay or not.
