Can’t get anyone to answer the phone in the department I’m trying to contact. It’s either a busy signal or rings until it says it’s not a working number.
I had been seen at the Omaha VA in Nebraska for the last 12 years and received top notch stellar care and customer service. I recently moved to Abbeville SC and have had the worst care with the Columbia VA. My primary care doctor in Anderson is patronizing and just rude. I called to make a mental health appointment and no one has answered the phone for days. The line just rings 40 times then says I have reached a non working number. Someone finally answered today and told me I have to go through my primary care doctor to get a mental health appointment, even though I have been seeing mental health in Omaha for 12 years. I was on a certain medication for sleep when I was seen in Omaha but my new doctor won’t renew or prescribe it to me, even though I have had success with the medication and no problems with abusing it or being addicted (it’s Ambien, I have PTSD and nightmares and have tried every other option until my psychiatrist put me on it ten years ago, now I havent slept for over a month because my primary care doctor won’t prescribe it). I get the run around on every issue I’ve had, asked to see a chiropractor for back issues but he wanted to just give me medication instead of getting my back looked at and seeing WHY I have back pain. I had requested to see a gynecologist but was told to see an in house female doctor first, waste of my time as she didn’t even know how to use a speculum properly. I have NEVER had so many problems with my care as I have had with this VA. Those are but a few examples of poor care, and a rude doctor. This is how vets are treated and it isn’t right.
I would avoid getting your care here if you do not have to. Use them as a last resort. The system is hard to navigate just for an appointment.
If null was an option!!!
