Everyone who works with Dr.Z is amazing. Professional on the phone and in person. After my eye exam his staff help me pick out the perfect pair of glasses. Great experience. Haven’t been to the eye doctor in years/since I was a kid, thought I’d get them checked out (I’m 25 now). Dr. Ron was very friendly and took the time to explain what he was doing and what it was for and answer all my questions, and I had a lot! Really enjoyed the experience and can’t recommend enough.

This was my first time visiting an Optometrist as my eyes have become strained and my close up vision has been going downhill. Dr. Zuba was awesome. Very thorough in the different tests and very informative on what they meant and my overall eye health. He spent almost an hour with me going through the tests and explaining them. The staff was great as well both when I arrived and then when working on finding a set of glasses. Overall I would highly recommend Palmetto Eye Care. One of the reasons I chose them was based on these reviews and I can attest that its a great place to go!

They don’t have a huge selection of glasses which was a little irritating because we are new to SC and I don’t want to have to look for glasses elsewhere. It’s the customer service provided by both the doctor and receptionist that was exceptional enough that I will continue going each year.

I needed a new Eye Doctor since the practice I had been going to closed. I chose Palmetto Eye Care from the list of providers in my insurance network because they had the best rating. Today was my first visit and it went extremely well! I’ve been to the eye doctor a few times in my life, usually a big chain store. But at those places I never learned anything about my eyes or vision in general, like I did with Dr. Zuba today. He was very thorough in his explanations and testing, the place was very clean, and his staff was very friendly. They also had a ton of frames to choose from, whether you want simple and cheap, or expensive designer frames. I will definitely trust him with my eye care from now on!

Dr Zuba is the best!! This was by far the most thorough exam that I have ever received. Unlike most doctor visits, he took his time to fully explain in detail every part of my eye exam. I will most certainly refer him to my family and friends. I was very skeptical about having an eye exam during this pandemic but I personally watch the staff take extra precautions to make sure everything was completely sanitized. Kudos to Brittany as well who was extremely patient with my indecisiveness in a choosing frame.

Update: The optometrist called me to explain the longer than usual wait times. I appreciate him reaching out to me.Ive been a patient for over a year. I have never gotten emails, texts, calls or mailings from them with updates or reminders. Today, I called to schedule an appointment and the next available is 3.5 weeks away, which is too long for existing patients. It seems that they were not prepared for the growth and have not been able to accommodate additional patients sufficiently.

Dr Zuba and staff are always very good. Nothing but great things to say about them. Glasses always come out perfect for my vision. Scheduling is alway very flexible. They are very concerned about keeping everything clean during COVID so I have to be more flexible and understanding with scheduling. I appreciate them keeping their customers safe.

I felt like I got a thorough eye exam. The eye doctor is super friendly and so are the staff. They are a bit pricey for the eyewear even with insurance but if you have insurance and are in need of an examination, this is the place to go!

Enjoyed the visit with the Optometrist. He was friendly and very thorough. However, if you have a strong prescription I would advise you to purchase your lenses and frames from another provider. Very unhappy with the finished product that I paid over 300.00 for.

Most amazing eye doctor visit ever!

Dr Zuba and his staff are so nice. They were so attentive to my husband, granddaughter, and myself from the time we walked in the door until we left after 5:00. They didn’t seem to mind to mind that it was after 5 on Friday afternoon and we were the last ones there. They did not rush us his out the door. Dr Zuba has the latest equipment needed to give a thorough exam and is very knowledgeable. He made us feel as if we were friends, not just a patient. I definitely recommend him.

Place is small and if your not looking for it you may pass it a few times. In side they have state of the art equipment, that easy to use, my kids love it there, Dr.zuba gives you all the information you need about how to improve your vision. Was my 1st time there but will continue to go here.

As someone who has terrible eyes and have seen a couple of optometrists over the years, this one is by far the best. He did a great job explaining everything in detail to me about what he was finding out about my eyes and answered any questions I had fully. The receptionist was really nice as well. I dont think I will ever see a different optometrist as long as he is in the business.

I saw a different ophthalmologist but decided to fill my prescription here. Great selection of frames and using VSP eye insurance was easy. Why I’m giving 3 stars is the technician has not been very helpful with fitting the glasses I purchased. First they were too tight and now they are too loose. Ive been in a few times to try and get them fitted better but to no avail. I’ve worn glasses for >35 years and have never had a pair fit so poorly and a technician not been able to help.

I enjoyed my visit from the time I walked in. Everyone was helpful. I arrived a few minutes early because I was new and knew I would have to fill out paperwork. Soon as I finished they took me right back(Im use to waiting). Dr. Zuba made sure I understood everything and actually took his time to explain everything. He told me he would take as much time as he needed for me. When we finished the young lady helped me pick out some glasses that were the perfect fit for my face. Most people just tell you to look around & arent very helpful. I do plan on going back.

Such a great experience. Ive had glasses for over 15 years now (since I was 8) and Ive never really loved the experience until now. Doctor Zuba was thourough in explaining everything he was doing in a way that I understood. He was very personable and made sure he chatted with me and got to know me and the concerns I had with my current contacts. I had an insurance issue before even going in and the front desk staff took the time to work through it with me and get everything figured out. They were also very friendly with me once I got there. I just moved to Columbia for school so I was hesitant on finding a new eye doctor but chose Palmetto Eye Care after lots of googling and Im so glad I did. I will definitely continue coming here and Im already in the process of telling all of my local friends about the experience. Thank you!

Dr. Zuba is simply the best eye doctor in Irmo. Other doctors just don’t compare to his level of expertise. My old eye doctor (America’s Best) gave me the wrong prescription which Dr. Zuba was able to correct and fix for me. Not once did I feel rushed. I felt like he gave me all of the information that I needed to know. He was very patient. His eye tests are amazing and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to switch. The lady at the front desk was also super helpful with picking out frames & helped me make the best decision. Not once was I pressured to do something I didn’t want to do.
