My one (and final) experience with Eyes on Missouri was about a year ago when I used them for optician services only for a pair of eyeglasses for a script written by another optometrist. Their staff was certainly polite, but they seemed indifferent to the fact that their lab took OVER A MONTH to deliver the glasses. I found the delay totally unacceptable, particularly when other local franchise opticians do same day in house production. I just had my annual eye exam and was told that the glasses they sold me were not accurately produced to the script. Caveat emptor, I suppose!Continuing my endeavor to enlighten community members who are seeking a responsible provider for their optical needs, I did receive the parrotted but pleasantly scripted response to the above posted review. I found it surprising that Eyes on Missouri did not have my contact information on file, but on December 3, 2020 I provided them my phone number and solicited their response. Over 60 days have now passed, with no communication from Eyes on Missouri so I suppose I simply have a different interpretation of the meaning of the meaning of reaching out shortly. I do give the business credit for being consistent with unacceptable delays in both their service and communications. As a side note, I did have my 2020 optical needs provided by one of their nearby competitors and received accurately produced lenses in 8 days, rather than the nearly 5 week delivery time of Eyes on Missouri.

Dr. Jill Radkowiec is amazing! Very thorough with examination and patient during the selection in through which lenses I saw better! I had a bit of a snafu with my glasses, no one is perfect as we are all humans, but Jaclyn went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. I never expected the treatment that I received, I am still in awe! Its a great feeling knowing that you, as a customer, will be taken care of and have them, as provider, lay a foundation of trust. Not many businesses will do this nowadays. Now businesses will not even bat an eye, as they already got money from insurance and you.I am definitely coming back to Eyes on Missouri!

We came here because they were the only place in our city that took Missouri Care insurance. They did a wonderful job. Very good with my kids. Very accommodating to our hectic schedules. Even sent my sons glasses to another city where we were to be when they became available, so that he did not have to go blind during our trip.

I took my daughter for her first eye exam and to get her very first pair of glasses. The staff were so friendly and took really good care of my daughter. When she was scared, they explained everything they were doing and what every machine did so that she could understand. I even learned a lot from the visit. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I like to learn the nitty gritty of things Im not familiar with, and they are more than willing to get into the details of a test, the composition of a lens material, or what the results of an exam signify. Theyre always friendly and great to work with, I dont see my family going anywhere else while we live in Columbia.

Several weeks ago I made an appointment for the first available Saturday opening to have my eyes checked. The appointment was made for February 8 at 1000. On January 25th they sent me a confirmation email with buttons to either confirm the appointment or reschedule. I confirmed. My emails send folder show that my confirmation email was sent.I went into my appointment at 0945 on February 8th only to be told that it had been canceled because the phone number they had on record had been disconnected. It was disconnected because I moved. They would have known this had they asked for my phone number when I made the appointment.While the phone number they had on records was no longer valid my email address was as someone should have known since I confirmed the appointment via email.Accidents happen and things get screwed up and I understand that. What I refuse to accept though is the its your problem not mine attitude of the employee working there. I dont have to put up with that and will not. Not only have you lost my family of four as customers, after speaking to my parents, youve lost them as well.

It was time to have an eye exam and use my work insurance. The staff as a whole were friendly and prompt. They were able to accept me doing a walk-in appointment and everything came together. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordable price of glasses. My eye exam went well and the doctor was courteous. I was told my new pair of glasses would take up to 3 weeks to arrive at Eyes on Missouri and it only took 2 weeks. BONUS:) All and all, a good experience.The location is easy to get to. I did learn that if you plan to park in front of the store, its less crazy to park in the Shnucks parking lot or over by Papa Johns. That way you can enter and exit with ease.

4-5 years ago I would have given this place a 4 at least. They were great with the clients I had worked with so I began taking my daughter there. They were amazing, the doctor was great with my daughter no complaints. Fast forward to the last 3 years and I have nothing positive to say about this place. I can’t remember one single appointment in the last few years that there hasn’t been some type of issues. Either with an obvious lack of competent front office staff, miscommunication with appointment times, insurance issues, and discrepancies with the cost of glasses when ordering compared to picking them up. As of today Eyes on Missouri will no longer be receiving business nor the business of my clients that I’ve taken there for multiple years.

Only giving 2 stars because my initial appointment was good overall. When I scheduled the appointment, I said I wanted a routine eye exam so I could order glasses now and order contacts a little later. I came in, had the appointment, ordered new glasses, and the glasses are fine. When I came back a month and a half later, I was hoping to get my prescription so I could order contacts, possibly from somewhere else to try to save some money. When I brought my prescription elsewhere they said I needed my contact prescription which is slightly different from the glasses prescription. I called and asked if they could fax the contact prescription to this other place. They said they did not have my contact prescription. I decided to stop by to get a better explanation. When I talked to the lady at the front and to the doctor that was there, they said I needed to ask for the contact examination, and that my appointment was only for glasses. I told them I had asked to order glasses at the appointment and contacts later. I assumed I would be examined for both. They never asked me if I wanted just one or the other or both. The doctor told me I had to have a whole new exam done, but that would not be covered by my insurance, and I could not afford it out of pocket. Her solution was to have my previous prescription sent to her from my previous eye doctor and she would just refill that one, which was already over a year old. This was completely unethical. It is not healthy for your eyes to use the same prescription from previous years. Thats why eye exams are annual. My old eye doctor would never have done that. I was VERY disappointed and I felt like I was being taken advantage of and ripped off because I was young. I will not be returning.

I have gone to Columbia Vision Center for the past two years now and would highly recommend them to anyone! They have very friendly staff who make you feel welcome and comfortable. Plus, they provide discounts to patients who have do not have insurance. They are the most reasonable Eye center Ive ever visited. They were more than willing to work with me to get my contact prescription right after a few trial and errors with different brands because of an astigmatism. Brilliant service, friendly and considerate staff, and an odd, but strangely convenient location made for an excellent experience. The checkup was quick and to the point, so I was able to get on with my day without too much of a delay. I only ordered contacts, so I cant speak for their glasses selection, but the order came in much faster than I had anticipated. But hands down the best part was that they didnt have to dilate my eyes. That might not be the case for every situation, but I didnt have to walk around half blind for the rest of the day, so I was honestly fairly pleased with the whole experience.

I love this place! Theyre always so friendly and accommodating. The location is a little strange and small, but thats no fault of the company. The staff are always smiling and seem to be enjoying their jobs. The most important part for me is the personable interactions. They always remember my name and will go out of their way to make sure Im happy and saving the most money I can. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an optometrist in Columbia. Had a great experience getting my vision test here. The staff and doctor were all very friendly and ensured that I had a good experience. They also had pretty great deals with a coupon book. Overall, with my medical insurance, I only ended up paying $35 for the test. Couldnt have asked for a better experience.

The selection of frames was okay for someone with insurance, but without insurance, they are a bit pricey. The cheapest frames I could find were $100 and there were a limited number at that price, most were $169 and up, the lenses were $200 for single vision lenses. Since all of their frames are under lock and key, it requires someone to walk around with you to help you open the case for each pair you chose to try on, which makes you feel guilty about taking so long to pick out a pair. Would be nice if they had a couple more smaller mirrors strategically placed so you dont have to walk blindly to find a mirror to see how each pair looks, then back to return that pair and pick another. The optometrist was very professional and knowledgeable. The employees were very polite and patient.

I had a great experience at the Columbia location. The staff was very helpful and patient with me as I went around looking at frames. The doctor explained each and every step. She also was careful to make sure I was clear in my selection of which lens was better (i.e # 1, or # 2 ... etc.) Most other doctors I have been too, went through this testing much too fast. I will certainly go back!

Not bad, I had no issues getting them to not dilate my eyes, unlike previous optometrists. Efficient, a little slow, and itll take longer than it should to get my glasses in because of remodeling, but they warned me of that upfront. If I could give 0 Stars I would. I came here byn recommendation and spent three times as much money as I had ever spent on glasses in my life. They told me that I was buying glasses that were very flexible and would not break which was true, they did not break as most glasses do but the nose pieces constantly turned yellow and the rubber around the earpiece kept coming off. They replaced it once within the first 3 weeks of my initial purchase and after getting them back again and wearing them a month I experience the same issues I did with the last pair of glasses. So I went back to wearing my old glasses (from eyemart) that Ive been wearing for 6 years. I am still currently wearing those glasses however a screw finally came out. I came in the other night see if they could put a new screw in my old glasses since I spent upwards of $400 plus with them and they said no since they were not purchased there and they were closing in 10 minutes. They then told me if I brought my glasses(purchased there) back the next day they would repair them. I come back and they tell me theres nothing they will do for me and that they werent the ones working last night so they cant speak to why they told me what they did. I will never shop here again and I wouldnt recommend it for anyone. There are much better places to get a pair of glasses here in town with people that actually care. You like spending a lot of money for no reason and you dont care about customer service this is the place for you. I cant say any of my experienced here were very good regarding service. Im 30 years old and this is the first time Ive been upset enough about the service I received to post a review online I just want people to know before they spend their hard-earned money with people that are not going to take care of them as their customers

Me and my mother both had scheduled an appointment, she had even scheduled a week in advance and we both had got multiple confirmations. We show up for our appointments early to find out the that my appointment was rescheduled and I was not even called and her appointment was not even scheduled at all. We have came here many years with our whole family. This is Probably the last time we will ever give Columbia vision center our business. We live 35 min away, and drove all the way there and back for nothing. Thus why I am giving you a one star review. I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with our service.

The eye exam was fine and they have a good selection of frames. However, there was an error when they ordered my prescription sunglasses. It was supposed to take two weeks, but its now been more than three. I called last week and they told me they would arrive Saturday or Monday and told me they would call even if they didnt arrive. They didnt, on both counts. I called just now and they didnt have a record in their system, so they had to call the lab but couldnt get through.So, still waiting.UPDATE: They gave me the sunglasses for free after all this so I bumped up the rating from 2 to 4 stars.

If youre a person (like myself) who prefers to buy glasses at the many much more reasonably priced online sellers, avoid this place. After my appointment, I asked for a copy of my prescription. I was given part of the information that is needed to get a pair of glasses made, but they left off pupillary distance, which is necessary to know. I asked them for my PD, and was told that it is not their policy to give that to their patients. In short, they withhold this information to prevent you from buying glasses from anyone but them.I paid them for my eye exam, I should be given the information that they got from it. They lost a customer over that one.

I enjoyed my recent visit with Eyes on Missouri. I didnt have to wait long at all to be seen by the ophthalmologist, which was a welcome change from previous experiences elsewhere. The staff was friendly and very professional. They offered many services that I could have gotten during my visit (e.g. lasik consultation and contact fitting), however I felt slightly pushed to get these offers done during my visit which would have driven up my bill, thus the 4/5 stars. Regardless, I would definitely return.

After having Lasik, Dr. Renner has done an exceptional job in keeping me informed and taking care of any questions or issues that I have in relation to my surgery. She has provided care that I consider to be far above the standard. She takes the time and knows the questions to ask in providing exceptional eye care that I have been receiving. Not only would I recommend them for Lasik but also in normal eye care for glasses or contact lenses.

We had ordered lenses through them after the eye examination. After repeated calls and enquiries at end of 6 weeks they hadnt ordered the lenses. Very poor customer care. Very unpleasant staff. Also my husband had called for an appointment for him. On the day of examination, they said that there was no appointment and ignored my husbands request to investigate.

I would give 0 star if possible. I went there coz my old glass was broken and my insurance only cover there. I got my new glass with prescription in two weeks. But as soon as I put it on and I knew there were no prism at all since I have crossed vision. So I complained the lady from counter that the vision still the same as without glasses . Then she cleaned the glass and give me back so I told her that the glass have no prisms. Then she took it and checked inside and gave me back and said everything was fine and they did exactly what in prescrition and told me to wear it a week till my eyes get used to it coz it was new. I explained her that was my second glass and I know what happen. But she refused to check again and asked me to come back after a week. So I have to go to Walmart where I did my old glass and she check it them and said there are no prism at all. I returned after a week and other lady took it and checked and told me they forget ti put prisms and apologised to me. I think they should respect every custumer and trained their staffs how to check thing properly.

The check-in staff and doctor were pleasant and kind to my kids, but the assistance in selecting glasses was nonexistent. I asked the girl assisting us many times Would this pair be a good fit for my son? only to get a Yeah, those are fine. She only glanced up at him from several feet away. It was NOT busy in the office at that time. We selected a pair on our own from the frames we were told his insurance covered, only to be called later and told that the frames selected were not completely covered and there would be an additional charge. We came from out of town so I will be paying the difference rather than making another trip. One persons laziness and inattention to detail made this a disappointing and stressful experience.

Go at your own peril! EMPLOYS the BAIT and SWITCH tactic!! I made an appointment here, explained that I was seeing floaties and just wanted to have me eyes looked at. I informed the GUY that I did not have vision insurance, however, I did have medical insurance. He told me, since you did not have vision insurance but have medical insurance we will charge you $35 for an eye exam, a deal. SOLD!While at the appointment, I was subject to vision tests, and a glaucoma test. The young lady (she NEVER introduced herself or bothered to accurately explained what I could expect) instructed me that during the test for Glaucoma, I would feel a little pressure in my eye. Boy was I startled when a puff of air entered my eye. Now, I’m not sure, but a little pressure and a puff of AIR are completely different. (She could have done a better job of explaining that, but since she didnt feel the need to introduce herself, I guess she felt she didn’t need too.) Still I continue with the appointment.When the Dr enters the exam room she quickly glances over my chart (I surmise to see what type of insurance, if any, I had) and states something or another about the type of exam, theyd have to bill my personal insurance. (Now, I’m confused). I informed the Dr that the GUY that answered the phoned stated that Id be charged $35 for the eye exam. To which she states, Did he know what was going on?” I replied, Yes. I informed him I am seeing “floaties” in my LEFT eye. I don’t have vision insurance, but I have health insurance. Now, I don’t understand why youre telling me that I’m going to have to pay $50 when I was quoted $35. She still doesnt budge. She sells me some story about how he couldnt have known the type of exam (not sure theres a difference) that I would need. To which I report, Then he shouldnt be quoting prices over the phone. If theres more to billing than hes knowledgeable of, he should leave it to YOU. Again, she still insisted that I would have to pay $50. By this time, I was already an hour into the exam (and it hadn’t really started yet), I didnt want to PTO time to be in vain so I completed the appointment.Surprisingly, she saw “floaties”. SERIOUSLY! But, not only just “floaties”, but “floaties” that are really close to the retina which is why youre constantly seeing them. REALLY?!? After dilating my eyes (I was not offered glassed when leaving the facility, thank goodness I had some in my car) and shining a bright light into both of them, I was released. You have 20/20 vision, I don’t see anything alarming. Just come back in 6 months. FREAKING REALLY!?!The only redeeming quality was the young lady who checked me out and collected my co-pay ($50, still). She made an effort to smooth everything over, to no avail. Due to the lies and, in my opinion, unprofessional atmosphere, I WILL NOT be patronizing this establishment EVER AGAIN! PATRON BEWARE!

They do not give clear instructions for contact lense care for first time users. Also, if they call to verify and appointment and you are not home and do not return their call, they cancel your appointment and book someone else in your place. That was the last straw.
