Ascend Federal Credit Union is consistently the one place over the years where I have to use MY OWN customer service voice/skills on the staff in order to get anything done. I dont know if the staff is just like that or if management has done something to them, but the people that work here are by the the MOST impersonable and stand offish people I have ever worked with. It is truly exceptional how the staff truly hates doing absolutely anything. You could go in to do a withdrawal and I guarantee you someone there is going to roll their eyes at you. The online banking and phone customer service people are absolutely delightful, but this particular location is god awful.

I have a car loan through capital one and wanted to refinance with ascend. I had to call and sit on hold several times and email repeatedly to get things in motion. I wont mention the girls name that I dealt with, but I had to ask repeadidly what my new interest rate would be after spending all day credit checking, faxing and emailing in all the documents that they required. After ignoring my questions she then proceeded to ask me for my bank card information to go ahead and get an account started and take a good amount of MY money without me even knowing what my new interest rate would be?? I told her I wasnt giving her my bank card information until I knew the interest rate. She finally gave me a number that was so ridiculous I just dropped it all after spending so much of my time faxing documents, emailing, sitting on hold on the phone all day. Bare minimum customer care. Save yourself the trouble and just dont waste your time.

Worst credit union ever!!! They do not care about helping their members, especially during this difficult time when most people have lost jobs and are just now returning back to work. They do not value the employees at all, especially if you do not fit in with their cliques. The standard of customer service and management is disgraceful and all should review the core values! Ascend Federal Credit Union needs to know that it is more to being the Best Credit Union and just make money, learn how to treat people better so people would want to do business with you!PS one star is too much!

This is the worst bank I’ve ever used! Nothing but a hassle, lied to so many times ,confused employees not able to answer questions about things going on with my accounts. Bank making unauthorized transactions!

Secreta and Brandi have the worse customer service I’ve ever seen in my life. When you walk in they won’t say hi welcome. They look at you and ignore you. Most of the ladies speak and welcome you. Theses two will not. Overall great bunch of folks. Thank you.

I recently switched to Ascend. This week I had to mobile deposit some checks and they put a security hold on my checks because they were out of state checks. Spoke with Dawn at the Columbia Branch and Tracy at the corporate office and they very accommodating and got my checks deposited despite the COVID shut downs. A+ Customer Service!

Every time I go into this credit union Julian the guy with the long hair is disrespectful and unprofessional. He refused to give me a receipt on my daughters account in which my name is on the account. I had two different transactions on two separate accounts and he put all the money in one envelope. And he has the worst attitude. I believe he is a racist because every time he waits on me it’s a bad experience.

I do not like the video tellers. It takes up too much time and it is a long wait. I have a short lunch break so this is not convenient at all. Please physical tellers in the actual building. I prefer a drive through. I would rather go to the Ascend in Columbia rather than the Springhill in the Crossings.

To be clear, I love Ascend. It is a fantastic institution! This specific location, however, is awful. I takes 15 minutes to make a deposit at the window when you drive right up. Its not cars, or slow patrons. Its the staff!

I have had an account for years here but thats coming to an end soon. Poor customer service. Most of the time the tellers are rude and you have to wait in line, inside and out FOREVER! I have just recently opened a new account at First Farmers and no matter what branch you go in, you can tell leadership is different

The Columbia location disappointed me greatly. I was excited to open an account with ascend because my family and several people I work with talked highly of them. I went in on a Friday and met with a guy to talk about opening up a simple checking account. He put some info in the computer and told me I couldn’t get an account there. When I ask why he said in a less than caring voice he didn’t know just that I’d need to call Experian. So again I ask why and if he could explain to me what I could do or needed to get done in order to get an account with them and again he says he has no idea, he was pretty rude and couldn’t care less either way. If I could give zero stars I would.

These ppl are criminals. They want to charge someone to cash a check, but the person who wrote the check has an account there - you dont do that when one of the ppl involved has an account. Their employees are pathetic, rude and poor quality service.

The best bank to go to for a WAIT!! Everyone knows Ascend has a big problem with customer service. They know it NOT! Just today we were their on lunch to have my name added to my husbands account. What would have taken about five minutes, if the front desk clerk would have had the skills to help me! They ignored me and put me in line behind two Caucasians that walked in behind me. Guess what color I am? I was furious and called the 800 number. Still no results! My husband asked me why we bank here? I still havent answered him. SMH! The Ascend in Columbia TN needs a over haul! My bosses would have fired me years ago if my customer service was THAT bad! Shame on the customer service lady at the front desk. I had to miss my lunch because she refused to help African Americans. #TiredoftheirracialInjustice

I am giving it a two star because they only ever have one person working front maybe two but hardly ever. Customers are waiting awhile to do anything and now days people dont have time to wait 15 or 20 minutes to wait to deposit or withdraw.

Never bank through them ever. I have had problems with them from the get go they over drew my account after I traded in the car. They go well have not received the payoff I called Kia but Im not doing business with ascend after this. Done.
