I recently applied for a car loan with APL Federal Credit Union. I had the best experience working with Denise. I have had so many experiences at other companies where the people that I have to interact with are not helpful, knowledgeable, or friendly but Denise was the exact opposite. She exemplifies what any corporation would want to see in terms of customer service. I called to check on the status of my auto loan right before the bank closed and she could have easily pushed me off to the next day but instead, she stayed later to get to the bottom of the issue and give me advice on how to resolve it. She suggested that all I needed to do was resubmit my loan application as a joint application and it would solve the issue. Not only did she give me advice but she even offered to shepherd it through the process the next day if I submitted the application that evening. True to form, not only did she follow through as she said she would but she even emailed me to give me an update before I even had to call to follow up with her. She has communicated with me every step of the way, telling me exactly what was needed and then following up immediately if any additional information was needed. Denise completely understood the time crunch I was under for my new car and facilitated the process personally the entire time. She even called me during her lunch hour because it was the only time I had between my meetings just to make sure I knew what still needed to be done. This level of customer service and follow through is truly remarkable. Not only did she leave me with a positive impression of her but she left me with a positive impression of APLFCU that I knew that I had to share with others. Employees like Denise are rare and truly stellar. I am sure she will go professionally but Im sure every customer that interacts with her will have a great experience!

I have had 3 separate car loans with APLFCU. They are always super helpful, especially Noah. Yesterday, I went in to settle up my existing loan and to get a new loan for a new car. Noah was super patient with me as I navigated Carmax and the dealership to get everything in order. If you go into this branch, definitely try and work with Noah.

Been a client at APL for about 5 years now, always top notch customer service and care. Most recently had an outstanding experience with Denise Webster. She made it a point to answer all my questions and make sure I understood everything.

I’ve been banking here for more than 20 years. You cannot beat the rates and I’ve always had a positive experience. I think the mobile app is pretty easy to use, and lets you do mobile check deposites, so I have everything I need.

I currently bank here and have for about 5 years. The Columbia branch has great customer service in my opinion but that’s the only thing good about this bank. I continue to bank here because it’s convenient and I have a lot of things set up for direct deposit. The downside is there hours are little to none. My main complaint is there atm’s are outdated,you can’t deposit checks. Regular checks can take many “business days” to clear,really frustrating. My deposits takes days to clear as well which sucks when you need your money. The app is so outdated I feel like the way technology has advanced they should have been as well.

Pretty bad online/mobile banking system where its impossible to make payments or navigate. It seems this is a huge problem with this place. The people who work here are also not that helpful and the one at the drive thru was extremely rude. The only reason to do business here is because of their low auto loan apr but get ready for massive headaches when dealing with this place.

Went into the negative because they let cash app steal money from me … then used my savings account to cover it .. they aren’t supposed to touch your funds period now I can’t pay any bills thanks a lot !Unprofessional I’ve been using this bank for 6 years

The mobile app doesnt work! I cant make deposits, constant error messages. Better still when I try to pay my bills by calling apl - they tell me I will incur a 3 percent fee to pay over the phone!!!! When I asked if they could waive the fee (given the app hasnt worked for me- even after reinstalling) - I was told no. Bad app, terrible banking experience- especially given the circumstances and recommendation to avoid unnecessary travel. Very unhappy.

No joke, the only thing this bank is good for is their car loans. The online banking is out of date, their hours are what typical banks did in the 90s, I’ve had checks bounce the same day as a cash deposit that other banks would have seen as sufficient funds. Like many customers stated, checks can take days to clear, electronic transfers must be delivered by carrier pigeons because I’ve never seen a slower electronic transfer either. Customer service varies. Sometimes you will work with the nicest people ever, other times the reps act robotic and stuck up. This was a good bank when it first started, but hasn’t evolved nor realized that some bad eggs are ruining their reputation.

The customer service person I spoke to was rude, and probably nuts. She acted like she had a personality disorder. If asking a couple of questions about why there was a hold on my account is challenging for that crazy woman then she should go into another field.

This bank is nice but customer service is inconsistent. Sometimes, depending on who talk to, you get spoken to like youre a child or an idiot. Kind of frustrating.

Check deposits clear in days and balance transfers take can take 6 days as weekend days dont count as regular business days.

Not helpful. Brushed off after there was an issue instead sticking by my side to help. Didnt even have class enough to say goodbye when I walked out the branch. Bye APL!
