Having spent much on the care of my teeth, I am pleased of the thoroughness of my examination as a new patient at the Helmer Family Dentistry, the skill applied to my cleaning and photographs/x-rays taken of my current health and condition given to my teeth. I was also pleased by the explanation given from the photographs taken that addressed some concerns that could involve future dental work. With schedule follow up in 6 months, we will see how this progresses. All around we are glad for this decision to have Helmer Family Dentistry and Dr. Helmer.

Like most of us, I dont love going to the dentist but Dr. Helmer has a calm, positive personality that made me feel relaxed right away! His staff are friendly and organized, thank you!

Just moved new to the area. Was looking for a dentist. Dr Helmer was right around the corner thus decided to go there based on Google reviews. WOW, Dr Helmer and the staff were fantastic. Had to have a tooth extracted and Dr Helmer did a great job. Stephanie the assistant was very professional and courteous. Highly recommended. Would have given 10 starts if Google allowed me too.

Had my teeth cleaned today with Kelly. Very nice , personable, nice touch! I was a new patient so she did x-rays, measured my pocket depths, took photos of my teeth/ mouth, scaled, polished, and flossed. All with a gentle touch! Very thorough! Dr Helmer came in for the exam. Very personable, makes you feel at ease. Asks about my family with true concern! His exam was showing me the x-rays and the photos. He points out his concerns and watches. He then looks in my mouth/ teeth. All in all this Is the dentist/ office to take you and your family to. Also: their office is very clean- they follow all PPE guidelines. Very important in this day and time.

This was my first visit after moving to North Carolina from Tennessee. So this is my first reaction and this review is prone to change as relationships are established.The staff were very direct and friendly. The hygienists were pleasant and thoughtful in regards to any sensitivity in affected areas. I’m no stranger to having dental work done. So there was no nervousness or apprehension on my part. However, the demeanor of the staff would immediately alleviate any such feelings. Dr. Helmer was polite and professional. Our first encounter could not be defined as friendly, but by no means was it an abrasive affair. I look forward to learning more about my resident DDS as time goes on.So far I am pleased with Helmer Family Dentistry and will continue going there as long as I remain in Clayton.

I gave the practice 3 stars because I am a new patient. In order to give more or less I need to get established. Dr. Helmer is very nice & pleasant. The front staff do not seem like they want to be there. No hello’s, no smiles (even with masks you can feel a smile).

Dr Helmer took my son in as first time patient during a trauma situation. Since my entire family have all become established patients and he has become our favorite dentist 🦷!

Ive had two visits with the Dentist with one being today for the first phase of a crown and it went extremely well. I know that no one loves going to a dentist appointment for tooth work but this procedure was painless. The Doc and his Staff are also very laid back, friendly, and overall just good people.

I really loved the staff here. Everyone was so kind. I was worried because it had been awhile since I have been to the dentist do to anxiety, but I wasn’t shamed for my long pause in dental care. Dr. Helmer made me feel comfortable and really helped me understand my treatment plan. Glad to find a gentle dentist that answers all my questions.

I cant recommend Dr. Helmer more! He is a great dentist. He explains every thing and doesnt make you do unnecessary procedures. I completely trust his judgement when deciding on what is needed. I have been going for almost three years and he and his staff have been consistently friendly and appointments have not been hard to make.

Dr. Helmer and his practice are professional, accessible, and affordable. I have never met a dentist that is as personable as he is and it shows when my kids do not cringe at the idea of going to the dentist. The practice is small but extremely well run - appointment times never keep you waiting. The facilities are very clean and well decorated making it comfortable for both children and adults. Needless to say not only is he my favorite dentist ever, but I would highly recommend his practice to anyone looking for a thoughtful, well trained and knowledgeable dentist.

The staff is knowledgeable and courteous and the hygienists are thorough and friendly. Dr. Helmer does a great job of explaining your current oral health and any procedures that may be necessary. All of my trips have been pain free. I recommend Helmer Family Dentistry to my friends and family!

2 weeks agoThe thing you quickly realize when at Helmer Family Dentistry is they really stand by their name. They treat you like family and they are a family themselves. I saw nothing but positivity and professionalism. Most striking however was their attention to detail. I had not been to the dentist in a while and they made me feel so comfortable and calm. Not to mention my cleaning was detailed and thorough.I would highly recommend Helmer Family Dentistry.

Dr Helmer is a wonderful doctor who is gentle and thorough in doing his work. The office is clean and the support staff is friendly and professional. Be prepared to wait for a first appointment as his office is in high demand.

My daughter and I have only been with Helmer Family Dentistry for less than a year. We moved from NJ and was so concerned about finding a good dentist. We have heard some dental horror stories and with our prayers answered we found Dr. Helmer. I have never had a long wait to be seen. I got a brand new tooth today, my 11 yr old daughter had some fillings done without the need of Novocain and Dr. Helmer has done a wonderful job and makes us feel very comfortable and happy to see him. We had a wonderful expereince at Helmer Family Dentistry today. My kids actually said, I love going to the dentist! as we left. Dr. Helmer and the hygienists did a great job working with my children and were very sensitive to their needs. My husband and I decided to switch to this practice because it is important to us that we see that same dentist every visit, unlike the previous practice that had a rotating office of dentists. We are very pleased with the friendly staff and knowledgeable dentist.

It was my first visit yesterday to Dr. Helmers office as we are new to the area. They were very welcoming, kind, friendly, fun, (it was Halloween and they were M&M’s ) while mainting their professionalism. I had awesome service and did not have to wait to be seen. I had a filling re-done from a past dentist. During that past dental visit, I had 5 cavities filled. They numbed me, but I felt all of it. This time around I got multiple shots around the tooth by Dr. Helmer and only felt some pressure from the guard that keeps your mouth open. I enjoyed how he was very kind and patient to the student dental assistant and the front office staff is very sweet and nice. Glad I have a good dentist close to home.

I am one of those people you hear about who had terrible experiences with dentists in the past. For years I allowed my dental health to be put on the back burner and would come up with every excuse not to go. Then one day the pain became unbearable and I made an appointment with Dr. Helmer. He changed my view on dental visits forever. All the staff were super nice and walked me through the whole process as they went through each stage. Horrible dentist, they hurt our teeth and our family ended up going somewhere else because of it. They also had some $70.00 fee insurance didnt cover and instead of calling to let us know they sent it to collections. I asked why they didnt call and was told I dont have time to sit around on the phone all day......Customer service = NonePain during and after appointments = 10+Polite staff = Nope, not reallyAnyway, we ended up going to Sedation Dental in Raleigh, now we just sleep during our dental appointments lol.

Horrible staff!! Front desk is completely rude and incompetent!! Patients were talked about behind their backs all the time!! Office is dirty and never cleaned! I could go on and on but the bottom line take u and ur family elsewhere!!

I made an appointment a month ago for a cleaning and was excited because the office is near my mothers house so she could watch my children. I missed my appointment yesterday because of the flooding rain. I live in Zebulon and the rain created a 3 ft river through my driveway and I couldnt move my car. I also lost power so I couldnt call and reschedule my appointment. Well, when I did call at 2:30 or so I was connected to the office manager and she said that because I didnt call they would not be able to put me back on the books. Basicly they didnt want to serve me because I missed my appointment. I have never been treated this way by a professional office before. Im actually glad I didnt start going to their office. Thankfully I found another dentist and have an appointment tomorrow.
