I believe in supporting Black business, especially in our community, but if you value your health and hard earned money DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS VENUE. Dr. Orrington Jr. is only concern about the money. This has been the worst experience I’ve EVER had with a health care worker. Everything he did had to be redone by another dentist costing me thousands of dollars. He drained my insurance. The experience was so horrific I can’t relive it by even repeating it. But I feel obligated to warn my fellow brothers, “BEWARE ” This man has No integrity, he’s unprofessional, poor workmanship, greedy and arrogant should be attached to his initials. He should be debarred and not allowed to come in contact with descent people. I’m still suffering. If I could give him a zero star I would. I’ve been told I need to report him to the Dental Association and The Better Business Bureau but I can’t turn a black man in, so I’m doing what I can do, I’m warning YOU. I’ll let him be his own undoing. Hopefully he may realize his error and change.

Dental assistantnever change his gloves frm one patient to the nxt patient. I was put in a open room with three other patient and could hear everything the other patient was getting done too them. Unprofessional staff. They book appt 8 ppl for a 8am appt.

I had a appointment for deep cleaning i called a day before to cancel and reschedule the lady said it would be a 35 cancellation charge which to make the appointment i had to put money down i guess they took that money the point is when i made the down payment no one informed me of paying a fee for cancellation. Then before i could make another appointment she hung up. I will find another professional dentist for deep cleaning and i was going to recommend my brother i think not. And i see everyone review was bad i wish i checked this out first.

And this is one star too many...I went to him for an emergency extraction and paid for it the whole Super Bowl 85 weekend.He pulled out the bad tooth, but left part of an infected tooth in my mouth.The next day, my jaw felt as if it were wired shut. If you can imagine, not being able to even put one finger in because it wouldnt open, and having oe side of your face frozen (it felt like the right side had cement that had hardened in it), this is what happened to me at this office. I had to wait until Monday to see another dentist to correct it.My whole weekend was ruined. How could I enjoy watching the Bears in the Super Bowl when I was in such discomfort?Avoid this quack at all costs.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! THE SERVICE IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I WENT TO THEM WHEN I WAS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT TO HAVE MY TEETH CLEANED. DR HARRINGTON SAID HE HAD FOUND MULTIPLE CAVITIES WHICH REQUIRED FILLINGS. WHEN I FILLED OUT THE REGISTRATION FORM IT ASKED IF I WAS PREGNANT WHICH I INDICATED THAT I WAS. HOWEVER HE STILL DISTRIBUTED MULTIPLE INJECTIONS INTO MY MOUTH WHICH I LATER FOUND OUT THAT I WAS NOT TO HAVE GOTTEN DURING MY PREGNACY. I RETURNED EARLIER THIS YEAR TO HAVE MY WISDOM TEETH PULLED WHICH THEY REFUSED TO DO ON THE GROUNDS THAT I DECLINED TO PAY $200 FOR A TEETH CLEANING. IF YOU ARE TRULY OUT TO PROVIDE A SERVICE WHICH WOULD BE BEST FOR YOUR PATIENTS. IT WOULD NOT HAVE MATTERED IF THE PATIENT AGREED TO HAVE ALL THE SERVICES PROVIDED AT YOUR OFFICE.

I had the worst experience at this dentist office ever. Doctor Orrington was trying to fill in my cavity without numbing up my teeth first. Both him and every person on staff that I had an encounter with was horrible. After that one appointment I never step foot back there. Now I go to a dentist office where I am treat with respect.

My mother took my sister and I to this dentist when we were 7 & 8 years of age for a checkup. We both received x-Rays and 10 + fillings each in our permanent teeth. Neither of us have ever had a toothache then or now. In fact, the only time we have had to go to the dentist since then was to repair a filling that he placed.It occurred to me when I was 23 years old that we had been victimized by Dr. Orrington on Ashland avenue. Yes, victims of insurance fraud. How is that our permanent teeth had such horrendous decay in teeth that had only been erupted for 5-6 years? Yet those same teeth in over almost 40 years had no more decay?At age 23, we both had reached the age of majority and could not pursue him legally. So why write about this injustice now? EVERY TIME I HAVE TO GO TO THE DENTIST TO REPLACE OR REPAIR ONE OF THESES FILLINGS FROM THE INITIAL ASSAULT UPON MY TEETH BY DR ORRINGTON I GET ANGRY!Someone tried to tell me maybe we didnt brush? Really? My mother brushed our teeth daily, never took us to Macdonalds since she cooked everyday, and barely let us eat candy. She tried her best to take good care of us. She didnt know he was dishonest.In almost 40 years for both of us, no tooth decay has occurred. Additionally, my mother did not take my younger 2 sisters to this dentist. They dont have a mouth full of fillings or tooth decay either. To be clear, all 4 of us have the same mother and father.Would be patients, be advised if you sit in his chair for treatment that he is an UNETHICAL DENTIST.

Worse dentist ever,there company that finances braces went out of business so.instead of letting me pay ever month when i had my braces tightened, he wouldnt let me come back without going through his credit company, then turned around and billed me 3000$

I came to this dentist twice and saw Dr.Banks. I really liked his personality but everytime I come to his office I leave with the issue half fixed and multiple other issues. Both visits my teeth werent evenly filed down which caused one of my teeth to crack due to this. Which he wanted to extract afterwards. Just went recently and had filings done and another tooth unevenly filed down. The same tooth had a small deep hole in it as well after being filled. He also grinded my bottom tooth down to the point of hemorrhaging and told me it would now need a root canal. If I didnt know any better Id say Dr.Banks half fixes dental issues while creating more issues to ensure patients come back giving him more money$$$. (Instead of completely fixing dental issues allowing the patient to maintain good dental hygiene, which would make them not NEED to come in as often, we also call that doing his JOB with integrity but anyway Im smh...) This is really upsetting given its an all black dental office Id like to support but not if they prey on their own community in such a way, which doesnt too much surprise me in Chicago, which doesnt have a good sense of community especially when it comes to the black community, which is sad but reality. Anyway, his personality isnt enough to con me into coming back a third time...I wont be returning ever again and I definitely wouldnt recommend anyone to come here especially if they have children or elderly family members.

If I could rate this doctor NO STARS, i would. This was the worst doctor experience of my life, I left literally in tears! He disrespected me so bad! I have been to him before and the service wasnt so great, but the doctor I usually go to was closed on Fridays. Therefore I went to him out of desperation because I had an abscess and my jaw was swollen, and I needed medication immediately to make the swelling go down.Upon entering, it was obvious that I had an abscess, so I thought I would just get a prescription for meds, and an appointment to extract and be on my way. But once he saw that I had insurance that would cover 100% of the visit and exam he ordered a full examination in an effort to collect money, even though it was the end of the day and all the nurses were ready to go. I wound up not being able to open my mouth fully for the x-ray due to the swelling in my jaw, so the assistant who was administering the x-ray decided it was best to do the the full exam when I returned the following week, which is when I was to receive the tooth extraction.She came back and said the doctor informed her that I would be billed for a limited examination, and if insurance didnt pay for it, I would have to pay out of pocket!! I told her that was insane because I would still need the full examination and x-ray when I returned the next week because it still needed to be done before he could really do an extraction and everything else that needed to be done. SO essentially, I would be paying for it twice! She agreed and went to get the doctor so I could speak with him.Once he came, i questioned him nicely about the billing process, and informed him that the nurse didnt do anything because I couldnt open my mouth fully because of the swelling, so essentially nothing was done. He then asked me, so nothing was done? he then took my prescription from my hand and ripped it in half!! I replied :no, she never did anything, or performed an x-ray due to my swelling. he then ripped the prescription again! I was horrified! he then said, I looked in your mouth, thats an exam. I said, but it wasnt a full exam, youre going to charge me for the full exam when i return on Tuesday for the extraction, so why should be there be a charge for today when Ive been sitting here for an hour while we waited for the insurance papers to be faxed over whilst you tended to other patients. He then went on a long disrespectful tirade, belittling me and talking down to me while justifying why the 40 seconds he spent looking into my mouth, just to tell me that I had an abscess (which was obvious and what I told him coming through the door) was worth a examination fee. Even though he was going to do the exact same thing and get paid 48 hours later! he then ripped the prescription again. I then proceeded to ask why was I being talked to and treated this way when all I was asking for was clarification about billing. He then asked, well do you have clarification now?! i was horrified and livid that I was being treated and talked to this way, simply because I asked a question. I said OK, yes I do, Im sorry if Ive done something wrong but all i wanted was clarification. He walked off. The nurse was so shocked, she stated, oh my God, if I were you, I would never come back here again! I said, I dont plan to. Needless to say, I didnt book a followup appointment, and I plan to file a complaint with the insurance company as well as the Illinois and Chicago Dental Associations. I am hurt, livid and angry at the treatment I received from someone that I AM PAYING!! I recommend no one ever visit this practice!. The doctor is rude and disrespectful. The needs of the patient should superceed the need to make a dollar. I feel as if I was dragged off of a United Airlines plane!!

I need a new retainer to wear overnight bc Im a stickler about my pretty teeth. I decided to venture out from downtown and support a black business. I made an appt 2 weeks ago. The receptionist called me on Thursday to confirm. I get there yesterday on time for my appt and the receptionist & dentist (Orrington) are not there. The other receptionist has no record of me or my appt. Needless to say I will never be back.

I have gone to this location on a couple of occasions, never seen by Dr. Orrington but by is partner Dr. Banks. The procedure I had to have done could not be completed there so I had to have it escalated to an Oral Surgeon. On several occasions some information that was needed by the OS was requested and never sent, only to find out that I needed to give my approval. I called this office at least 4 times and at NO time did anyone tell me that was needed. So I sit waiting over a week for a call from the OS for an appt, only to find out no steps have been taken by Dr. Orringtons office.

They have bed bugs I was getting bit as I sat in the waiting area didnt really realize it until I really thought like why was I itching sitting there then I end up telling everyone where I got my tooth pulled and they ALL INSTANTLY SAY DONT GO THERE THEY HAVE BED BUGS HOPEFULLY THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY NOW BUT I WOULDNT RETURN THE SERVICE WAS GREAT THOUGH THE WAIT WAS HORRIBLE JUST BEING HONEST
