Came in bc I was experiencing mild covid symptoms and I am in a high risk category. They made me wait outside over 10 minutes ro prepare a room when the lobby was practically empty. After I was taken to a room, blood work was ordered, I experienced one of the absolute WORST blood draws ever. And Ive been hospitalized ALOT. I told the girl to please be carrful because I have experienced plenty of bad and very painful sticks. From the minute she walked in the room I noticed her throwing the draw tubes on the bed and just rushing through everything.I told her if you dont get it on the first try please please please dont dig or fish around for the vein. That means dont wriggle the needle around in my arm trying. She did not listen. She was rough and practically jammed the needle in my arm. She was able to draw a good bit of blood but she ccouldnt get the rest bc the needle was not placed well and she blew my vein. That means tmro my arm will have a bruise the sice of a CD and it will not heal quickly due to my existing health iaaues. Then ahe tried another spot on my hand above my thumb. Those are some.of the most painful sticks in case you didnt know.I told her AGAIN to pleaae be careful but of course it went in one ear and out the other. She fished around for the vein ans she used a larger than usual needle so it was evwn more painful. I had to pull my hamd away and she had the nerve to get mad atme. Whaaaat?!?!?!?!I was so upset I told her to just srop attending me. I could not trust her to be careful and exercise a decent level of bedside manner. I wouldntnt trust her with my garbage !I disnt get her name but a supervising Doctor did come in to talk to me. But at that point I just had had enough. I already had a long day as it was and I mentioned that at the beginning of assessment.I suppose I expected a professional level of compassion or empathy as Ive come to expect from other health care workers. But not this lady. II even tried to justify her behavior maybe shes tired, burnt out, overworked, in a bad romanceIdk. But whatever the reason its not acceptable.I Will NEVER ever come here even if it is the closest hospital near me. After all I am ending up with the bill so why should i settle for mediocre care??Thank you for reading till the end.
