I have used PetSuites Taylor Road, Chesapeake, VA before when I have gone out of town and was pleased with the services. As this was my second time using this location, I told the customer service representative that I wanted grooming services and added the WORKS to the order. I was having online difficulty with my reservations and called PetSuites directly to help. The representative confirmed my pets reservation and recommended that I should consider having my dog groomed on his last day of lodging so that he will be fresh and clean. I was very thankful for the suggestion and agreed to the change. I wished I had obtained the representatives name who helped with online lodging and grooming services. I told her that she was genuinely nice, and I hope to meet her when I brought my pet in. She said to me that she is always there. I am sure it is documented in your records who helped me via phone. But only to find out that the representative did not change the grooming request to the last day of lodging, but only to find out that the grooming documentation still showed that my pet was to be groomed on his first day of lodging which was Saturday, 10/2/21. I received no phone call or email that my pet had not received grooming services. I returned to pick my pet up on Saturday, 10/9/21 with a courtesy call to advised that I was on my way to retrieve my pet and asked if the grooming service complete. Making sure that I was not coming too early to retrieve him if grooming services was not complete. During the call, the representative seemed puzzled and said that she did not see a grooming service attached to my pets visit. I recommended that she recheck the grooming service order as I saw the documentation attached to the lodging paperwork that I initialed and signed prior to leaving my pet for the week. The representative placed me on hold and never came back to the phone. I held the line only to disconnect the call upon entering PetSuites business. I asked the question again about grooming services for my pet and the representative informed me that because of the time of day that I dropped my pet off, the groomer could not get to him, or the groomer(s) were gone for the day. So why wasnt I told that I needed to be my pet at PetSuites by a certain time?? Because no one cared to mention timeframe for grooming services!!! The frustrating part is that no one took the time to contact me or to aid in rescheduling the appointment while my pet was there for SEVEN days. In completing my transactions for lodging services, no one cared to make what was wrong right. I was informed that I could make a grooming appointment for this week!? Really??? I am currently back to work from a Seven-day vacation and still cannot get my pet groomed due to the time of day that I get off work and when your groomer(s) leave. I left in tears and frustrated to no end. I called who I thought was PetSuites corporate office but only to find out that I was speaking with a manager at PetSuites Newport News VA location by the name of Andrea who assured me that she would reach out to the PetSuites Chesapeake VA manager to get this issue resolved by Sunday, 10/10/21. As to date and time, Andrea “manager” has not returned my call either. All I got was a lot of talk and no positive resolutions!!!!! Can you tell me why no one cared to call and offer another date of grooming services??? I know why because no one cares!!! I will find the corporate number/email address and send the same information. I hope that your corporate office will investigate this customer service action and enhance customer service training. I am quite sure that after the reading of this email, the response will be that we are sorry with no positive results!!!

Real nonchalant and give the notion of your one of many who cares about your dogs. I have two dogs that stayed there 7 days. Paid for the gold package and both dogs obviously fully vaccinated up to date in everything to get admission. Both dogs have kennel cough and are sick. I will never use them again.

PetSuites Chesapeake, Virginia really came through for us. We needed to board our two cats and normally we board at the vets. But our older cat has alot of anxiety and can be a handful. He got barred from the vets boarding facility. We contacted PetSuites and they handled us masterfully! Our cats had a great stay and it didnt cost an arm and a leg either!We will definitely be using them again in the future.

My experience with PetSuites Chesapeake was incredible. We had an emergency at our home one evening and had to leave suddenly. We had never used PetSuites before, but I was aware of them through Facebook. I was however, pleasantly surprised to find out they are open late and are able to accommodate vaccinated pets with last minute notice as in our situation. I was able to fill out the online form on my phone on the way there, making check-in a breeze. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous, and the facility was clean. At checkout they informed me how and what my puppy did during her stay. It was an all around great experience.

Tesla, our 11-year old cat, stayed at Chesapeake PetSuites as we traveled to Montana. Upon arrival the staff was extremely friendly and allowed a tour of the kitty condos. They placed Tesla in a duplex with a window that I know he appreciated. The main outcome of Teslas stay is that for once he did not come home with kennel cough. Every other place we have left Tesla, he has come home with the most pathetic cough, but after his stay at PetSuites all he is is tired and hungry! Back to regular scheduled programming :) Thank you PetSuites!

Made a online reservation Friday The reservation actually spit the name of the groomer out that was supposed to do the service on Monday.I called down this morning speak to one of the representatives in there and they go on to tell me how They can only see my profile but the actual reservation didn’t go through. I even explained to her that the reservation gave me a name of the groomer that was supposed to do the job, maybe race or favoritism.Definitely not the place to go if they can lose a simple reservation I can only imagine how many mistakes can be made to your baby

If you’re looking for a comfortable stay or grooming services that are patient and kind, then DO NOT come to PetSuites in Chesapeake. We recently boarded our pup for the first time yesterday, which was off to a bad start as we reserved on Wednesday, got a phone call on Friday stating they didn’t have her for boarding, corrected them on the reservation and then was told again at drop off that they didn’t have her for boarding. We should have taken that as a sign because their communication between staff is terrible. We don‘t like to board unless we have to, so we chose the gold package and all the upgrades to make sure she was playing all day which was to include photos. Of course, we didn’t receive ANY pictures of our pup. When picking up our pup, we spoke to one of the managers, Aubrey, and she definitely wasn’t concerned with the way she spoke to us or how our pup was treated. She confirmed they didn’t send photos and told us that they downgraded everyone from Gold to Silver because they had over 100 dogs and call outs to provide the services THE COMPANY guarantees. She also described a very impatient and nonholistic approach to grooming our pup and it was only a nail trim. Aubrey was selfish and was only concerned about her self as she claims “I thought she dislocated my jaw”. As she continues to describe my dog as ”hanging off the table”, “choking herself”, and “thrashing”. All of which are signs of discomfort, fear, and anxiety. It was her FIRST time getting groomed and boarding and it will be her LAST. If you can’t provide the services that you offer, then contact me to come pick my pup up. It may look nice on the outside, but what happens to your pup on the inside is questionable. Shout out to Whole Dogz in Alexandria Virginia for grooming and taking care of our pup for the last three years and never treating our pup as just another number. Moving is difficult enough, but finding a good groomer and sitter for our pup is extremely important to us.

Grooming here is not even close to worthwhile. I have received high-quality haircuts for my dog for years in Norfolk at a place that charges $45. Haircuts here are almost TWICE as expensive. Unfortunately, the cuts are low-quality, and even though I had a reservation, it took six hours to finish my dogs haircut, which is quite inconvenient.

Easy to make reservations and they confirm by emails. The silly sister dogs had a great time with their stay. When I picked them up, they wanted to head back inside to where all their new doggie friends still were. They must have played a lot, as there were exhausted when they got home.

Picked up my dogs after a month of boarding due to a TDY. Both dogs have a cough, dry heaving, vomiting, and diarrhea, all resembling kennel cough from what the on call Vet told me. Picked up on Saturday, called Vet on Sunday, and taking them to their vet apt on Monday. My senior sheltie (7 years) has NEVER had any sickness. Neither has my German Shepherd mix (2 years). I cannot even begin to think of how unsanitary this facility is. Called pet suites to inform them and they said they would reimburse the Vet visit so Ill update this after to see how that goes. While its a decent measure of a gesture Im still thoroughly disgusted that this even happened to my dogs. It doesnt matter how long a dog stays, how hard is it to practice good hygiene? And in case anyone wants to say maybe they got it from each other; 1- my dogs were not allowed to board together because they are not neutered, AND 2- one dog stayed in the C aisle while the other stayed in the D. So I dont even want to imagine how many dogs potentially have kennel cough due to lack of sanitation..UPDATE- just read that about 6 months ago another poor dog came home with Kennel cough. Absolutely horrific. 🤮

This was the first time I have ever used a boarding facility and I am very impressed. I own a large German Shepherd so it makes me nervous when he meets new people or dogs. They did an awesome job with him and kept in touch with me during his stay, even though it was only for two nights. Prices were good but my dog means a lot to me and good care for him doesnt have a pricetag.

We love PetSuites! We’ve taken our puppy for daycare several times and having that structured format of playtime and crate time has been amazing. They do a fantastic job with bathing and grooming services - the little spritz they put on after smells so good too. The staff cares a ton and they write little report cards for you. Definitely recommend if you’re looking my for a daycare or grooming service.

I had a last minute need to board my puppy, 5 month old shepherd/lab mix. I booked online, then called to confirm. I was told the options I chose (outdoor playtime and training) were not available. I still needed to board Toby but I was less thrilled. When I checked him in I was THEN told he needed puppy preschool. An additional charge daily to what is already a hefty fee. I opted for the gold package learning that Toby couldn’t get free time outdoors. This was to get an extra walk and I was promised photos daily. I got photos the first day, not the second. I got there as early as I could the third because that was the length of time I booked. I show up for him and can hear employees screaming at dogs in the back. I am not impressed and will never use this place again.

Made a reservation over the phone and gave credit card information for $25 down payment. I had 4 mysterious charges on the same day from the account I used to make the down payment. Two from NY Times, one from a mountain conservation group and another from a Visa provision service. I do not use this account for any bills or typically use it for normal purchases. My bank was able to verify the 4 charges were from purchases online. Please look at your bank accounts for mysterious charges if you use this place often.

Boarded my fur baby from 1/12/21-2/12/21 requesting the $35 a day deal. When the visit was extended , I requested a $10 extra play period on 2-8-21 three times a week specifically requesting M W F. I reviewed my bill about a week after checkout and noticed I was charged for 41 play days; the entire length oh his stay. It took two calls to get a callback to discuss the bill at which time I was told he received play time his entire stay. The invoice shows that he was not evaluated for play until Feb 8. The facility refuses to refund my credit card for the days not requested. I imagine his care was fine whenever I checked on him I was told he was in his space/crate “chilling out.”

Visited facility and scheduled grooming. Day of groom, they had not scheduled our dog. Manager apologized and rescheduled. Arrived on rescheduled date to be told that because they didnt have vaccines on file, they could not provide service. 2 month time of waste and our dog still need to be groomed. We are returning to where weve gone for the last 3 years where weve never had any problems. Will never recommend this business to anyone.

Looked into boarding with them because my usual boarding place was booked for the dates I needed. Not a great first impression - because I gave them my credit card information for the supposed $25 deposit on the phone and within hours, I received a fraudulent charge for a google game. I had to cancel my credit card (I hadnt used it for anything else) and receive a new one. Now note the $25 was never even pulled out to begin with. I called to let them know and they said to have me call to pay the charge once I receive the new card.I called today to actually cancel the reservation (the place I use was available again) - and they could not find my account anywhere. I told them I called and have spoken to two people with NO issue pulling up my account - but now I apparently dont exist. This whole experience was shady and I am glad I didnt have to use them. One other review mentioned the fraudulent charges as well.

I never thought I would have to leave my sweet Bean, a MaltePoo in the care of others while having to leave out of town. I visited/toured PetSuites and was amazed of how this facility provided great care. I was amazed of the difference apartments available for pets. On the day of departure Bean and I were greeted with smiles. Given an opportunity to say bye, he was taken away to his temporary home. I was relieved that Bean was ok when I received a text and picture that he was being a good boy as well when he ran out of wet food and given an opportunity to make further decisions on his feeding. If I have to leave out of town again I will surely use PetSuites! Thank you for your awesome care!

I absolutely loved this place!. Yhis was my first time boarding my dog and i was nervous. The first time I walked in I was greeted by a young lady (red/black hair) wished I got her name, but Everyone was so nice!!.great customer service! I was given a tour and was sold by the cleanliness and how they take care of the dogs. I knew my dog would be taken care of; they even washed her bedding before she left. I will be back for sure!

My pets received their yearly boosters in March and were able to stay in April but I was notified they were not able to stay in May for my Mother’s Day trip in 2 days because one of my dogs “three week distemper” was expired. There is no such thing as a three week distemper for a 4 year old dog. I sent in 4 photos of the vaccine sheets so they could see the vaccines were current but the girl did not understand how to read them and absolutely refused to have a manager call me to go over the vaccines so I had to cancel boarding last minute. I will also cancel boarding for our great wolf trip in June but haven’t yet as all the girl would do was text back and forth to argue. I’ll submit the texts to corporate and hopefully it will help them with training.Update*** The GM did reach out to me this AM and left a message that my distemper was ok and the influenza was expired. I called back to update the influenza on file but the girl who answered the phone was quick to inform me that my dogs distemper was expired and I would need to submit further proof of distemper. The GM didn’t bother to update my account. The girl I spoke to yesterday didn’t cancel my reservation so I would have been a no show. She also told me it’s not her job to make sure my pets records were up to date and that since my pets records said DA2PPV and not DISTEMPER, they would not be accepted. It was a completely overwhelming and ignorant conversation and could have been made easier if she would have just taken a message for a manager to call me back or offered to call my vet. I have since called Bayside Kennels and they have accepted my proofs of vaccinations and were able to verify that my pets were current on all vaccines. Their prices are also more fair. I am a pet groomer, I verify vaccines before I service my clients as well. I book all of my appointments ahead of time. I could have submitted anything else they needed but to treat me the way they did was not necessary. My last visit was only a short visit. I drove over 30 minutes and paid over $300 (with one night free) and was happy to do so because they were highly recommended. I rebooked multiple stays. But you don’t stress your paying client right before a vacation they’ve planned months in advance and then respond to their review as if it’s their fault. You apologize for their experience and offer to help.

We left Qoda for 4days and 3nights. The place is clean. Staffs are friendly. They have Military discount. They said one night stay free for first timer customer but we didnt get it. We paid full when we picked up our furbaby.

We go to the Petsuites in Murfreesboro Tennessee all the time, they love and care for Tanner our Beagle. He plays all day with the other dogs. When he gets home he sleeps the whole next day, because he had a great time playing. Chesapeake Petsuits the staff only plays one on one with him, they say he wants to play to much. We think they cage him alot, because when gets home he plays for hours. We will never use Chesapeake Petsuits again 😒🙄😑😪😤 Sorry.

I had four separate calls with PetSuites before I brought my puppy to be in puppy preschool. The first call, I tried to enroll him in puppy kindergarten, specifically said puppy kindergarten, and the person on the phone said preschool. I thought since I clearly said kindergarten, that preschool was just another name for it, so I went ahead and enrolled him. A couple calls later, they were calling me to make sure that I bring my puppys vaccination records, but didnt say I needed to bring anything else. I double checked with the person on the phone, different than the first person I talked to, that my puppy would be there for four days, including boarding, for $100. I used those exact words. They confirmed that this was correct.Today, the day I was supposed to drop my puppy off, I called them again to triple check that the information I got from them was right after I looked on their website and saw that puppy preschool and puppy kindergarten are two different things. The person on the phone this time told me that they are different, and the costs were different too. If I was to board my puppy in their preschool it would be $50 a day, so for four days I wouldve paid twice as much as I was lead to believe I would pay. And PetSuites stopped doing puppy kindergarten, which was never indicated to me over the phone or on their website at all. For just day care it costs $35, so I decided I would go ahead and bring him just so he could get interaction with other puppies and people.I bring my puppy to PetSuites, waiting for him to get picked up, only to be told that they needed a poop sample from him along with his vaccination records, which was never told to me in the four previous calls I had with them. I ended up having to just bring my puppy home.There is a serious lack of proper communication here. I understand that working a costumer service job, especially during covid, can be difficult (Im in customer service too). However, the fact that I just had to go through all of this and end up not even being able to bring my puppy here, shows that theres either not enough training or the receptionists are careless. Either way the experience I had with PetSuites was incredibly irritating.

Took our dog there for 2 nights in December while we went out of town. Our dog came home with terrible parvovirus requiring us to go to The Cove for very expensive treatment. We called Pet Suites and their response was less than receptive. We told them they needed to let all the other owners of the dogs our dog played with for 2 days know their dog had been exposed to parvovirus and again a very non caring attitude. Won’t go there again. The people working there are very inexperienced and young. Just a job to them nothing more.

My experience was horrible. I arrived to pick my dog up from daycare and I called to let them know I was outside over five times no one answered. I decided to go in the inside and the lady at the register said that the lobby was closed. I didn’t get a greeting or anything. She was very rude. I explained I had been calling and she proceeds to tell me she was the only one there. However it was three other employees outside talking, I’m sure they saw me waiting outside. Not one of them acknowledged me .I saw the sign on the door saying lobby was closed if anyone answered the phone i wouldn’t of came in the inside. Then it was a lady in the lobby with her dog at the counter, but if the lobby was so called closed why was there a lady and her dog in there, but I had to wait in my car. I felt discriminated

If you care about the physical and mental well being of your fur babies when youre away, this is the place for them! Attentive, playful, safe and roomy, like a little pet hotel. I love that playtime and even tv is available for some suites! Only downside is that it can be a bit pricey with all the amenities

We choose this location based on the reviews. This was our first time boarding our 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd. So we were already on the fence about this. We dropped our dog off Saturday and picked her up Monday. When we returned home we found that the staff did not follow our instructions. The treats was still in the bag, there was still a lot of dog food left. The staff didn’t listen well when it came to feeding instructions. The staff give my dog their treats instead of the treats we provided. I’m just thankful my dog doesn’t have health issues and isn’t on a special diet. Unfortunately because the staff didn’t follow simple instructions we will not bring our dog back there.

We were very anxious about boarding our dogs during our destination wedding/honeymoon but the staff at Petsuites were great! The dogs didnt eat the first few days they were there and the staff took the time to hand feed and mix their dry food with wet food to get their interest. They seem very happy and tired now that they are at home. Thank you!

I have used their daycare before a couple of times and it was fine, this time I needed to board overnight and was disappointed. First I came in a week prior to pick their overnight accommodations and the girl at the front desk was not that friendly but that’s fine as long as my dogs get proper care...come to find out they go almost 12 hours overnight with no potty breaks and no one in the building after hours. I picked up my dogs the next day and one of their beds was wet, I was told it was from cleaning the kennels but if I hadn’t picked them up they would have slept on a damp bed over cold concrete, never again.

My dog wasnt a right fit for this location but everyone was kind and understanding. If I didnt have such a challenging dog, I would pick this place to bring my dogs in a heartbeat. But unfortunately, I have a dog with high anxiety.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. My dogs have been boarded here, attended day camp and visited the grooming salon. All services offered have been great and with a pretty competitive price. My dogs seemed to have enjoyed their time here so far and we look forward to coming back again soon!

I brought my dog there after she suffered a slipped disc and everyone was fantastic. She could not walk at first but by the end of the week she was walking around. I feel like if it wasnt for them she would have given up. They gave her meds when she needed it and helped her eat. I am very thankful for the people here.

My dog had a great stay with PetSuites back in December 2018. However, this company called me in May of 2019 to inform me that they completed an audit and that I had a balance of $55 still pending on my account. When I paid in December, it was my understanding that I was paying the full amount. It is incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate to come back 5 months later asking for payment because the staff did not charge me correctly. Luckily, we were able to get the charge dropped after much back & forth, but I will be finding a new place to board my pet in the future.

I just toured this facility to decide if we should keep our 3 year old Labradoodle here while on vacation. I was so impressed I think he may have a better time than we will! I read all the reviews and was happy to see each comment tended to very respectfully. Was a bit amused about the neighbors complaining with dogs barking at 8 a.m. as I thought “thank you for letting me know they are consistent and actually care about our pets!” They were happy to give us an on the spot tour and I see why...the place is immaculate. Zak is going to love his new vacation place! Great job staff of Pet Suites!Zak stayed and I never once worried a out him while we were gone. Looking forward to dropping him off again soon. I recommend this great place to everyone.

My fur baby Ivy Coco loves to go to PetSuites. The staff knows her name and welcomes her when she arrives. Shes stayed overnight and attends day play. I feel comfortable when I leave her and the staff sends text messages and pictures to show me how shes doing.

I have a pair of Bichon Frise puppies and they always love going to PetSuites for a stay. We have used them several times since they opened last year and my puppies are always eager and happy to go and seem happy when I pick them up so I know they are enjoying their stay. They seem to come home with better habits than they left home with. Always good!! Vickie

We love this place! Our big boy is SUPER timid, anxious, and doesnt do well with others. We were so happy with the care that he got with PetSuites. He came home happy and wasnt the crazy dog we were expecting. Our little guy also had fun playing in daycare during his stay. The staff is always amazing here - friendly and courteous. The only reason we deducted one star was our big dog did come home with boogery eyes and a bit of a cough. We understand this is a hard thing to control....colds are contagious, and his immune system was most likely lowered due to his being prone to stress and anxiety. Other than that, well be back and are thankful we have a place for our dogs to stay when we need to get away.

Very nice clean place for my pet to stay, when I was away I was able to talk with the staff and also text to see how she was doing they treated Sasha like a queen. Will definitely bring her again. Excellent friendly staff.

We werent able to take our fur baby on a road trip so we took her to Pet Suites Chesapeake-Western Branch. We were greeted by friendly staff and they answered all of our fur baby parent questions. Our Winifred has special needs due to not having eyes and we felt comfortable that she would be cared for while we were away. Upon our return, Winifred was happy to be with us and seemed to be content about her stay. Thank you, Pet Suites!

I was excited about bringing my dog to PetSuites, as I recently moved to the area. I take very seriously where and with who I leave my pup so before deciding where to leave him for day care I google reviews.As the site in Chesapeake is big and looks fancy - something that most of us would get excited about, the staff I found to be not knowledgeable, unorganized and all over the place.I had previously called them to ask all the questions about day care and to make sure I knew what were PetSuites policy were. I was told my pup will be evaluated on his first day which I was fine with. When I picked up my pup the first day, the staff person did not communicate with me as to what his evaluation was or anything at all. She did not know how to work the cashier and could not properly check me out either. She kept asking the staff member next to her who was another cashier and they both had an idea how to work the register.After seeing the staff- I hesitantly brought my pup one more time, as that is the only day care provider near my house - this time I told them he was there for day care specifically and they took him in the back and said it was fine. I assumed he passed the evaluation since they did not mentioned anything.When I picked him up, I asked how he did and they now told me he did fine. I asked how long was he playing outside? and they responded oh no, he stayed inside a cage all day and had breaks and someone played with him for a little bit. I was angry - very angry. I brought my pup for day care and this whole time he was inside of a cage. Why? They said he did not passed his evaluation the first time. I was never told on the first day, and if I was I would have never brought him back. I rather would leave him at home alone. Communication is very important especially in any business. I would not recommend this place to anyone with a dog. I think the service and communication is horrible. I did speak to the manager the next day and all she did was apologize - not good enough!!!!

Needs to be faster in morning with drop offs.+++I have now stopped taking my dogs to this facility. They raised the daily price to force insurance on you and also now require dogs to have a flu shot !? Insurance and flu shots are personal preferences. a lot of people dont even get flu shots for humans, let alone their dogs. And you as a business should have your own ample insurance to cover your business.I have hired a great dog walking service instead of this.

Buyer/reader beware - went in for a tour today and they had a sign in their lobby bribing customers with a $10 credit for posting a review for them. As far as the facility, it’s new and shiny but they don’t offer anything above and beyond some of the other establishments in the area. Also, all dog enclosures are in the same open building which I didn’t care for. Our dog can get stressed when boarding which is why I prefer a place where he can enjoy some peace and quiet.

First I want to say take any negative reviews with a grain of salt, the people writing them are probably just bitter and can not afford what all needs to be done for their pet. This facility is very nice and clean, they take time with all of the pets and they stay on top of veterinary care for the animals staying at the resort if they need it. The staff are friendly and caring period! You should want your pet vaccinated with all vaccines required and or recommended for the safety and health of your own pet. They are happy to give a tour of the facility and it is amazing all of the extras they do offer for your pet if you would like. Breed restrictions are no longer, at any facility there are policies for the safety of all pets, I am the proud owner of a very sweet Staffordshire Terrier and I am not treated any differently nor is my pet. Out of all the places in the area this is the one I would choose over any other.

I was so happy when I found out about this place opening up. Working down the street I wanted it to be a place I could take Dallas a few times a week so he could play with other dogs and not be stuck at home while I was working. After getting more information I learned my dog would be completely isolated and alone during the day not being allowed to play with other dogs and kept in a separate area only being let out by a staff member. My dog has always played well with other dogs and has never shown aggression in any way. PetSuites did not offer an assessment or even offer a chance to get to know my dog to see how he behaved. They will not get any of my business and I will not recommend them to any of my friends or family with pets.
