If you want to train your dog or do doggie daycare there is no better place in the Hampton Roads area.

Caitlin is a phenomenal trainer. She is very professional and is extremely experienced. She is a “dog whisperer “ with a bag of tricks for every problematic issue you may have with your dog. All staff members have been very friendly and helpful. This is a top notch facility that I highly recommend.

We researched a lot of trainers in the area, and they have really paid off so far! Its our second week (with covid) and despite the fact that multiple people are not allowed in the class for obvious reasons, they work hard to compensate for this difficult time.If there was anything I could suggest so far, it would be that on boarding was conducted by the trainer as opposed to staff to eliminate confusion for the first class, however I suspect that is also due to precautionary covid measures as well.

Trainers are very knowledgeable. Training is broken into sections. They show you how to work with your dog properly then you practice. They also have a talk each week about how to properly care for your dog and discuss behavior issues. If you are in puppy classes they also have a short play time. All great for your pups mental and social development.

We have enjoyed our training sessions and have learned a tremendous amount about obedience for our boy!

Took our dog here for a few training sessions. At the time it was $180 for 1 hour sessions for six weeks. They dont actually do a lot of training with your dog (you can pay them to do this) however its more them training us to train our dog. Which obviously is more beneficial. However, you could learn this all yourself via youtube and books. But if you dont have time for that, Canine Training Unlimited is a great place to go.

My husband and I love Canine Training Unlimited and the benefits as a result of their training + our practice/reinforced training at home. We adopted our dog, Jasmine, from the shelter and she came with what felt like a whole boatload of baggage. She had an issue with men, people entering the house, MAJOR stranger danger, didnt like shots + getting blood drawn (going to the vet), and LORD FORBID if we were in a group of people and one person wasnt doing what the rest of the pack was. We did the beginner, sub-novice, and are currently on our third round of novice class. Your trainers (weve had Lisa-Marie and Caitlin) give you the tools to practice with your dog in class and at home. Since starting and continuing classes, we have seen a major improvement with Jasmines behavior. Lisa-Marie and Caitlin even made special efforts with asking other people in class to approach Jasmine (with treats) to help her with her stranger danger. The class material may be generic but everyone receives the tips and weird tricks that they need to help their dog succeed. We have consistently gone to class and practiced at home (both of these are key). Without the education and tools provided to us by C.T.U for us to apply at home, I doubt we would have seen such positive improvement in Jasmines behavior in the less than a year that we have had her. We will continue our classes with Jasmine, have enrolled one of our other dogs in their classes, and would most definitely recommend C.T.U. to everyone and anyone!
