Two of my kids had an appointment and our experience was fantastic. Minimal waiting time in the lobby. The hygienist, Alex, I believe was so patient and trying to get my daughter to relax and not be anxious. He was also very good with my 2 yr old. Dr. Vera was amazing too! Very informative and wanted to make sure all my questions were answered!

Mr. Alex was amazing!!! My son has anxiety and I have never seen him so relaxed at the dentist. His personality and demeanor with my children was exception!!! So glad we can request him from now on!! No more dentist fear for us!! Thank you Mr. Alex!!!

Dr Vera is AMAZING‼️ My children hated the dentist until I brought them here. A huge thank you to Alex (The CTL) he was so cool he mad my son feel so comfortable and the popsicles at the end was the icing on the cake. My three kids had a great visit at Hanbury Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. The office staff was so nice, and made them feel really comfortable throughout the entire visit. Alex, Gwen, and Dr. Vera did a great job and they were very informative.

Today my son had an appointment for a filling, with his autism he was quite nervous. Dr. Vera was amazing and was patient with my son. I recommend Dr. Vera to anyone that is looking for a pediatric dentist!

Dirty rooms, chair. Hair and dirt is what you will see. If this is what Im seeing, how clean are the tools?

My children (now 9 and 7) have been going here for almost 3 years and have always had a lovely experience. They’re thorough, quick, on time, and don’t push unnecessary things. Now that my 7 year old has to have orthodontic work, he gets to stay at the same office, and see the orthodontist there, too, which is convenient. The orthodontist just became a partner which is great because she’s so wonderful.

I don’t even know where to start.... My daughter was seen at the Hanbury Rd. location in Chesapeake. They were running 30 minutes behind all day due to a staff member being out sick, but never bothered to call us to inform us of such or see if we wanted to reschedule to a later time; we found out only once we were inside and checked in. Facility is clean, but for a pediatric dentistry it is not very welcoming or accommodating to kids at all. There’s nothing on the walls or anything comforting or that would distract kids from the fact that there’s a stranger up in their mouth.The dentist and his assistant were not very kind or patient with my 22-month old daughter, even though they were aware it was her first ever dentist visit. I sat her in an adult sized dental chair and him and an assistant rushed up on her and scared the daylights out of her, because they didn’t bother to talk to her about what was going on or try to make it a remotely pleasant experience for her. Once I got her calmed down, they made me have her straddle me and hold her arms down so they could look inside her mouth.... but when I explained to her what they were doing, I didn’t have to do that. However, the first time I leaned her back they shined that bright light up on her face (again, without telling her or me that it was going to happen) and scared her again, leading to more heartbreaking sobs. Once she was calm again, they spent all of 2 minutes looking at her teeth, rubbed some red stuff on them with a toothbrush (what was it? They didn’t tell me but okay cool) and told me she was good to go. They didn’t address the concerns I had; I had to ask and the dentist had to go back and look at her teeth again to address my concerns, which told me they didn’t read the intake paperwork and they weren’t being thorough.The dentist or his assistant didn’t interact with her at all or even make an attempt to make her first dentist visit fun or a positive experience for her. They were cold and impersonal and unobservant. I personally love the dentist, and had her all hyped up for what turned out to be an extremely heartbreaking and traumatic experience for my daughter and for me. I would not recommend this facility to any parent that is looking to take their baby or toddler to the dentist... this ain’t the one.

Running an hour behind at 9 am on a Monday come on man. Also , why is the questionnaire necessary if the hygienist is gonna ask the same questions?

My children had an appointment at 3:00pm. We drove from N.C. When we arrived there they informed us that since we didn’t confirm our appointment by phone they couldn’t see us. I did confirm the appointment. The refused to see us. We’ve been with this dentistry for almost 13 years. We found a new dentist and will not return to the establishment. The receptionist was very rude and it didn’t seem to bother her about the situation.

My daughters loved their dentist at Hanbury. I was thrilled to finally find someone they would work with. It is a shame. After dealing with some billing issues with my daughters insurance, the office staff did not return my phone calls. Three times I called and left detailed messages (including my phone number) and did not receive any call back to answer my billing question or be asked why I was canceling their appointments. Ridiculous customer service. I am hoping that they simply have terrible voicemail issues. The staff in the building always seemed very courteous, so to have this issue with them saddens me. I now have to hunt for a new dentist with decent customer service and hope my children will like them. Answer your voicemails Hanbury Pediatric Dentistry!
