I was looking for a new dentist and havent had the best experiences with my past dentists. I made an appointment for my first visit and was very impressed and felt comfortable with my decision and would recommend this practice and Dr. Shalit to anyone. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They explain everything that they are doing and why. The dental hygienist was very thorough with the cleaning and the dentist made recommendations for cosmetic improvements and left the decision up to me with no pressure.

Amara is always the best. The office staff is so friendly and helpful and all of the dentists take time to explain anything you have questions about.

Definitely the worst experience I ever had at a dentist. They will pressure you into paying for unnecessary procedures.

I made an appointment for a cleaning and even though I was on time, I still waited over an hour to be seen. Then I was told I needed a deep cleaning and they could not do a regular cleaning. They showed me paperwork and that it would cost me hundreds of dollars and wanted me to sign to go ahead with the procedure. I refused and left and was still charged $40 for being seen even though no service was performed. They are out to get your money and do not care for any kind of customer service.

I would not recommend going here. The place is nice and some of the staff are friendly. However, I waited an hour to get into my appointment just for them to tell me they couldnt do anything. I was scheduled for 11 and the doctor didnt even arrive until 12. After that, when I asked why I was billed when nothing was preformed, they were unable to give me an answer and told me I would not be billed again. When leaving the doctor told me the front desk would refer me out, but they didnt do any such thing until I brought it to their attention. Getting on the phone is a hassle and apparently they cant run billing correctly. If I were you, I would just find a different dentistry to go to.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They take time to know the patients and answer any questions that arise. I would recommend their practice to my family and friends.

The look of the office is wonderful. The staff are polite. Im rating them a 1 star because they cannot get financial insurance billing correct. I keep getting bills from this office because they are not submitting the correct information. They had my family information merge with another family. I keep trying to hang in there. I am looking for another dental office because I am not paying out of pocket for the staff mistakes.

Last summer, my dentist retired and I needed to see one quickly due to a hole in my tooth. I wound up in the chair of a DISASTER by the name of Andrew Shalit. First, this hack started poking around on the wrong side of my mouth. Then he’s removing his mask, for absolutely no good reason, near the height of the pandemic, before vaccines were created, to talk to me within a foot or so of my maskless face. Next, he flat out lied, telling me he couldn’t do anything now because my gums were so inflamed and infected. He placed me on a 10 day course of antibiotics and said I would have to come back in a week. I felt zero s/s of infection and was totally distrustful of Shalit so I went to a dentist at another practice. The new dentist confirmed there was no infection, no inflammation whatsoever and it was just a filling had fallen out. So he replaced it. Real easy. My new dentist also said Shalit was “probably setting you up for a root canal.” It’s been a year now but I’m still annoyed so here’s my post.

My first visit got off to a rocky start. Thought I’d get a checkup, x-rays and cleaning in a single session. Didn’t realize it would be two sessions. My mistake. However, the routine cleaning on my second visit could’nt have been better. The hygienist knew her craft and the whole experience was very professional. My appointment was on time and I am very pleased with the entire experience. Highly recommend!

I hate needles, but needed my wisdom tooth pulled. It was my first time at this dental office. The staff was very nice and the oral surgeon was great.

Do NOT recommend! I waited over a half hour before they brought me back with no apology or reason why. After more waiting in the back, Dr Shallot finally came in & spent about 5 minutes in the room, just told me that I need a bunch of work, didn’t really explain why. I was told to wait AGAIN for someone to come back to go over cost, when she came in, she just said this is what you have to pay and wanted me to sign something agreeing to pay it. I was surprised to find out later that she was the office manager because she looked very unprofessional. I had planned on bringing my kids to this dentist too but I don’t think I’ll be going back. They treat you like a number and only seem to be worried about getting your money & getting you out the door as quick as possible.

Amara Dental in cherry Hill was amazing. Im not a huge fan of being at the dentist, but the staff there made the experience very comforting. I had my wisdom teeth done and I was in and out with no complications. Thank you for such a great experience! Highly recommended!

I came with pain in one tooth they wanted to do a bridge an implant I end up with extraction and three crowns which wasn’t necessary to be done everything supposed to be covered they max out my dental insurance $3000 and they make me pay over 600 out of the pocket for a job which shouldn’t be doneI am not recommended at all They rip you off

I have to say, I’ve never been treated more respectfully, compassionately, and gently. MANY people have negative perceptions of dentist offices/dental work. This place, however, has been incredible and kind. They made what would normally be an uncomfortable experience and made it not only bearable, but pleasant. Please form your own opinion and meet them for yourself before adopting someone else’s point of view !

Ofcourse going to the dentist is nerve-racking however the care at Amara Dental of Cherry Hill will ease those preconceived notions that the work that will be performed on your teeth will be brutal. The staff is incredibly friendly and check-in is fast and easy. Yes, you have to complete a Covid-19 form and they will take your temperature but that shouldnt surprise you. At the front desk Jackie is one of best and she stays on top any insurance issues so your check-out will be seamless. The wait times obviously can vary but, I have not experienced long waits. My appt. with Dr. Dagli was fantastic and she was very prompt and informative. Even if you have those stomach churning thoughts that dentistry work automatically equates to severe pain that will NOT be your outcome with Dr. Dagli and Anna. They were very gentle, fast, and efficient. After my dental session Dr. Dagli discussed different treatment options and course of action for my dental care going forward so I was able to relax a little as headed to check-out. Again, no one likes going to the dentist but the Difference between everyone else and Amara Dental of Cherry Hill is the quality of care from the staff at the start of your appointment upon check-in until your services are complete upon check-out.Thanks a million Amara Dental of Cherry Hill!

A lot of people dread visiting the dentist. My mother had a great experience! Everyone is very professional & pleasant! Love that this office has updated equipment! A very pleasant atmosphere also! They were prompt, very attentive & caring to my 89 year old mother! Most of all my mother left very satisfied & happy! Highly recommend!

My recent ( first) experience with the staff at Amara Dental was amazing. The professional courtesy of the welcoming staff to the various procedures( exam, cleaning , etc) performed by the doctors were second to none. My wife also expressed a similar experience during her visit. My sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire staff. Front-desk staff were very friendly, knowledgeable & competent. I found the waiting room to be quite comfortable and inviting.The staff in the back - hygienists & oral surgeon- were very kind & capable & I felt quite at ease in the office while having my tooth pulled. I had absolutely no pain during or after the procedure.

I was very happy to be seen at Amara by Dr. Dan and Amber a short time ago for grinding out my old broken crown, and inputting a temporary. Dr Dan gave me additional anesthesia to numb my gum, tongue and crown when I needed it.I returned today and saw another Lovely doctor, sorry I didn’t get her name Who removed the temporary and inserted the permanent while smoothing it out. Dr Dan glued the permanent in. I was done in 15 minutes.The office is very clean and they are following all protocols. The staff is very friendly and helpful, not like other dentists I’ve gone to in NJ. They accept my insurance, they make me feel welcome, and not nervous. I highly recommend Amara.

I have posted my strong dislike for this practice and to add insult to injury I saw that the horrible insurance they talked me into charged my charge card for another year of coverage with no authorization from me. Be very aware of this practice.

I went in to make an emergency appointment and they took me right back for an exam to see what needed to be done. Appointment was set for the earliest the next day. All staff extremely professional but more importantly the nicest I’ve ever met. Made me feel extremely comfortable!

The office staff were friendly, the hygienist was really nice and she actually took the time to tell me what I needed to do for my teeth. Ill be going back.

Amara Dental has been a disappointment over the last year.1. My four year-old daughter received a procedure we did not ask for, nor did she need, and were charged for it. It is not covered by my insurance.2. When I notified the front desk, they said the charge would be taken off my account. It was not.3. Then Ive left messages for the office manager Jackie in reference to this bill (which, according to Stephanie, was settled back in January?), then to their central office. Ive received NO response from them.4. I now have a bill for unwanted services 90 days late.I would NOT recommend them.

Staff was kind and scheduling was easy. Doctors really knew how to make me feel safe, informed, and comfortable - from cleaning to surgery. Come here if you want to skip the nonsense and get to the care you deserve.

I just had my wisdom tooth extracted today.From start to finish,all the staffs great. Special thanks to the dental assistant Ms. Ashley who helped me relax throughout the process (I held her hand, childish,I know =)). It was such a big help knowing that somebody understands your fear and try to help you get over it.Also to the Doctor who did the extraction was very professional.Overall,I would recommend going to this place.

I have had more care and consideration from a CVS flu shot clinic. If you are okay with being just another number in the system then this place does just fine. I had expressed concerns regarding my wisdom teeth extraction being that it was my first major procedure ever. When the oral surgeon came in he lazily waved his hand as an introduction and then reclined the chair and immediately started working. I was blown off and felt completely disregarded throughout the entire procedure. I had to yell to get their attention when I nearly lost consciousness which is common issue I had vocalized beforehand. Their biggest concern was charging me for the copay and scheduling me for a follow up that I eventually cancelled because I couldnt stand the idea of going back. I have been going here ever since my dentist switched to the practice and the entire experience has gotten worse with each year. Do they do their job? Yes. But if you are looking for a feeling of comfort in your dental care I would not recommend.

This was my 2nd appointment at Amara Dental and I have to say that they all made me feel very welcome. Starting with Jackie at the front desk .The place is spotless clean. When I went to the back with Joyce and Melissa they took good care of me. Joyce was very caring and was explaining everything to me and my options what was best for me. She does beautiful work and very professional. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for excellent service, professionalism but also caring about you and compassion.

I went to Amara for the first time after not going the the dentist for a long time. A major reason for the amount of time in between dentist visits and by extension the lack of proper dental care was that I didnt believe I could find an office I would be comfortable at. Amara and the staff that I interacted with there absolutely changed that. They are incredibly engaged with the patients. The staff was professional and friendly (a balance that is hard to accomplish in any medical setting). They were obviously very knowledgeable and seemed to work well with one another and were not only able to answer my questions but predicted or answered many that I may have forgotten to ask or not even though to. The office its self is clean, relatively quite. The waiting area is comfortable and there is ample parking as well as being conveniently located. Great place, great experience!

I LOVE the staff and Providers at Amara dental in Cherry Hill. I’m always treated well, they accommodate my schedule and they have a family feel to the office. That being said I hate going to the dentist and because of that my teeth have suffered and I need a lot of work which I am in the process of doing. There is no high pressure push to get things done. They presented me with a treatment plan and let me arrange it to suit my schedule and budget. I get dental and oral surgery care through one office...super convenient.

I would never return to this dental practice. I have never been so poorly treated in my life. High pressure to sign up for unneccesary procedures, outright lies, insulting behavior. Not any kind of medical behavior Ive EVER seen before anywhere.

I have had severe dental anxiety for years ever since a terrible experience until now as a patient at Amara dental cherry hill. The whole staff is eager to help and make me feel comfortable. I’ve seen both dentists now and both are extremely caring and calming. The hygienists are great! So friendly and that just helps so much with my nerves. Even the front desk is great about helping me find appointments that fit my crazy changing schedule and helping me understand all the financial aspects. I have a few more visits to go and I’m glad I can finally say the anxiety is easing away.

This place is the absolute worst. We switched here when our dentist joined the practice (she recently left). They constantly try to up sell you for services you don’t need. They told my mother she needed a cavity filled. She told the person multiple times that the dentist said there were no cavities. Finally, my mother had the dentist come back in who confirmed there was no cavity. Today my wife called to ask a question about two appointments we have for tomorrow evening. She was told, “Oh, I can’t believe nobody called to tell you the appointments were cancelled since we have to close at 6pm.” These appointments were made after they reopened due to COVID-19 so they should never have given us those time slots. This is not the first time this has happened. It’s time to find a new dentist.

Staff is always so kind and polite, can have a bad day and they always smile or make ya laugh. Place is clean and calm atmosphere. Love it!

I love Amara Dental! The entire staff is extremely friendly, lobby and office are sparkling clean, and appointments are always taken on time or even early. I selected Amara a few years ago when I was seeking a dentist close to where I was living at the time. Now, it’s 30 minutes out of my way from home and work, but totally worth the extra commute.

Highly disappointed. This place is a total scam. They recommend you services you do not really need and i received a bill of $149 for which i did only my cleaning and that with dental insurance. I was told cleaning was going to be for an extra $25 before i went in. Even after giving my original copy of my insurance, for first 6 months they keep sending bill to wrong insurance address which is not even listed on my dental card. After talking to office repeatedly (atleast 10 times), no one has helped me to resolve my bill issue. I went to this office about 10 months ago and i am charged the wrong amount of $149 in stead of $25. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCAM PLACE.

I had a great experience here it is a nice little dentist office. The staff was all very helpful and kind there wasn’t a long wait I was able to get into my appointment right when they had scheduled it for little to no wait ! I will definitely be coming back for future appointments.

I broke my tooth and called the office and was given an appointment with in 48 hours which was awesome because I was not in any pain. Dr. Shalit did a wonderful job fixing my tooth and placing a temporary cap on it. I am a very anxious person when it comes to the dentist but I felt very assured with there care.

A nice, small dental office conveniently located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. More importantly, the staff and Dr. Shalit are very compassionate and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with his care.

I called two days ago and never got a call back. I called a few minutes ago and the lady was very rude and unfriendly. I told her that I have been waiting for two days for a call back and she acted liked I said nothing to her. She did ask me what I wanted to do. I told her I needed to make an emergency visit she then placed me on hold came back on the line only to tell me I could be seen until August 4. How is that an emergency visit?

Like many others here, I only became a patient because Dr. Farren joined the practice several years ago. She recently left, and Amara not only refused to provide her contact information, but refused to even admit that she was currently still practicing. I was able to do some digging and learn that shes moved to Simply Beautiful Smiles on Stokes Road in Medford, so to any of her former patients (or anyone who needs a great dentist) I certainly recommend making an appointment with her there. Shes honestly the only reason that Amara even rates one star, which they earn for having the common sense to bring her on in the first place. The support staff at Amara was constantly revolving and several of their admin people were challenging to work with as a patient; with Dr. Farrens move to a new practice I can happily be done with Amara.

I was on the fence about this dentist. I chose it after a job switch and just found a close dentist. They won by proximity. My first few visits were great. My second 6 month visit I remember waiting about 40 minutes to even be called back. I was annoyed but I know things happen. Now today, I was early to my appointment and waited 18 minutes exactly before I was called back. I then sat in a chair for 45 minutes to only have ZERO cleaning of my teeth done. Now my mom was a Dental Hygienist for over 30 years. Usually they do the X-rays and cleaning and then the doctor comes in , does the exam, and makes his recommendations. There were so many people in and out the room it was getting confusing. Two assistants, a hygienist, a doctor.The staff was nice and funny but I need efficiency! In any order, people just back and forth. Upon my exam, which they did first, but fine...they found things wrong and wanted to take action today. I CAME HERE FOR A CLEANING and EXAM. I am fine if AFTER the cleaning and exam you want to recommend the million things you want to fix. Cool. I dont have many days off work to even use the insurance I pay $2,000 a year for. I was off this week for a Fall Break. I purposely made my dental appointment while I am off work, and what did we really accomplish? An exam and X-rays? I want as MUCH done, as possible on every visit that will be paid for by the insurance. Utilize those benefits first. Yet, now I have to come back another bunch more appointments just to get my teeth cleaned because they recommend a certain type of deep cleaning that the insurance doesnt cover? This is senseless and now I just dont want to go back. It was not a wise use of my time or theirs to be honest. They couldve managed the time better and they at least wouldve had been able to bill for another service.

I always have excellent care there. Dr. Farren is friendly and very competent and explains everything she is doing. I always enjoy seeing her. The assistants were also very nice and competent.

I love Amara Dental. I never wait longer than five or 10 minutes for an appointment. They’ve been extremely professional. They seem to have all the latest technology. They’re upfront about costs and check to ensure you’re covered with insurance and if not they let you know exactly how much your whole plan is going to cost and will work with you.Mary Farren Berkey Is the best dentist and is super nice. I knew her from my college days and she has not changed. I would recommend this dentist to anybody. And it’s right next to Whole Foods so every time I get my teeth worked on I go next-door and get myself a treat just like a little kid!

Such a nice experience, I almost forgot I was at the dentist. Tastefully decorated reception/waiting area. Everyone was pleasant and informative at each stage, even had great music piped in. Dr. Farren and her team rock!

Dr. Farren moved to Amara dental a couple of years ago and I followed her because she is one of the best dentists I have ever had.I like the Amara procedure for future treatments if needed. This gives me a full understanding of what the cost will be moving forward. This helps in scheduling the next visit from a financial perspective. The entire visit is always a pleasant experience and it starts with the friendliness of the receptionist.

I explained to them the issue with my tooth, and I was given an appointment for the following afternoon. I was very pleased with the location and the customer service while waiting was outstanding. The staff and dentist were wonderful, they explain everything to you, and tell you your payment up front, which is a pleasure, and your not surprised when you walk out. Ive been going to this dental practice for several years. For various reasons, I get cleanings, every two months. Due severe injuries from a car accident, five months ago, I was unable to floss or otherwise care for my teeth at usual high level and my gums developed significant pockets, which was discovered at todays visit.Joy, a hygienist who is new to me, performed a [periodontal] deep scaling. Ive had this on three prior occasions and it has been quite painful. However, todays procedure was significantly less painful than even my usual regular cleanings. Thanks, Joy!

I love my hygienist, Francesca (sp) shes competent, thorough and gentle. Shes also funny and attentive.I did find that I was left longer, this visit, without communication than ever before. The hygienist had finish and left without further instruction. After, about, 10 minutes I got up to leave and the assistant said that I needed to wait for my, treatment plan. So I waited another 10 minutes or more until she finally returned. Not a huge deal and Ill definitely be back and recommend others but this lack of communication was new and,a but unsettling.

I was a recurring patient here, I started coming here (Start 2015) because my first dentist moved away, I still made the 1 hour & 20 minute journey to take care of my dental / oral needs. It was really upsetting to hear that my primary dentist was miss treated & is facing immature invalid threats by this business, even after leaving your practice. Ill never step foot in this place ever again.If youre looking for a new dentist, look elsewhere.

Staff very nice, friendly, and knowledge. Office space is very nicely kept. The wait time was very long, first time patient they didnt get me in until an hour atfer my appointment start time but I think it was worth the wait.

Getting any dental work done can be nerve racking and very intimidating however Dr. Farren and her dental assistant this evening (9/3/19) were fabulous in making me feel comfortable and explaining the procedure from start to finish. I was just there this morning. I called yesterday and they were able to get me in to see Dr. Jan. Very nice dentist and patient and Anna reassured me although I was nervous about my difficult cavities that were causing pain. I would definitely recommend. I am in some pain but with cavities pain is to be expected after a root canal.

Had the 1st appointment of the day for semiannual cleaning and did not have the hygienist do her thing until almost an hour had passed by in the chair. Not the first time that the 1st appointment if the day was way behind schedule which us hard to fathom. Hygienist and the dentist did a great job, but they just dont seem to be ready for 9 AM appointments.Followup Review: I received a call from Joe in the office apologizing for the delay and that they will make sure that they address these kinds of issues for future patients. I am very appreciative that he took the time to call and listen to my concerns and he seemed to be very interested in correcting them. Upgrading my star rating from 2 to a 4 - a 5 will follow in the future if they have addressed the issues that I experienced! Thanks Joe!

Initially I went to Amara Dental, Cherry Hill, for some crowns that needed to be done. I was a patient there for a year and a half and never thought that I would go through all the problems and mal practice I had. I was seen by two different doctors promising the best results. And I am currently having to wait for the third doctor, they said that it would be in a month that I would be scheduled, and it has been over a month and I have not heard anything from them. My crowns were put in incorrectly, fell off within a few months, I have constant pain, had an infection and can only eat from one side of my mouth. Jackie from the office said she would put in a complaint about my case, but said that they did not respond. And recommended for me to call the main office to speak with the director, Dr. McMurray. I was given the wrong phone numbers. After all of these complications I just want my crowns to be done correctly and for someone to respond at the main office.

5 star I feel like is not enough for this place. From the front office to the Dr. The stuffs are so friendly and do your dental work with care. I found a new place for me and my family for dental work. We are not going anywhere else after the service we received from them. Keep up the good work!

The staff, from the receptionist to the doctor are all so kind, caring and insightful. Never making you feel uncomfortable about anything. Answering all questions with a smile. The doctor took her time with me and repaired my problem. Thank you to all! Your the best!

I’ve never had an issue with the office. The techs are very sweet however, in rating the new Dr. today and my time spent in the office my experience was about a 2. I waited for an 1 1/2 and the Dr. took next to no time with me. He made me feel like a child in the way he spoke to me and when I tried to explain that I had suffered a loss this past year that held up my being able to schedule a visit he showed absolutely no warmth or any level of compassion and quickly left the room. It is the holidays, showing empathy to a patient shouldn’t be so difficult nor should taking the extra time with patients. I wasn’t given any recommendations prior to my next experience and I left feeling very brushed off. To be in an office for that length of time and to leave feeling this way isn’t quality care. Really disappointed.

I was very impressed how professional Amara Dental really is! Also, it is such a pleasure talking to someone who actually speaks ENGLISH! Did not have a problem and the Dentist who I had an appointment was very honest and did not try to sell me on extra work I did not need! Jackie was very helpful on explaining Insurance Coverage and costs!

As someone who has been afraid of the dentist for years, I cant believe that I am so happy and COMFORTABLE with this dental office. First of all, the office is beautiful inside and does not have that normal vibe of any medical office. I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting area. Dr. Burg is warm, welcoming and knowledgeable and makes me feel at ease. I have had several dental procedures done, and I have never questioned the treatment he has given. All of the staff at Amara are wonderful from everyone at the front desk, to Dr. Burgs assistant Brittany. They are friendly and thorough and I truly couldnt be happier. I no longer dread the dentist which is definitely a miracle for someone like me. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone!

I hate the dentist but going there makes it better the people there are so nice and easy going they really know what they are doing I would recommend to everyone love it .

Amara Dental provides amazing customer service. The facility is extremely clean and its right next to Wholefoods so you can get a quick bite to eat when your done. Very convenient :)

The office staff was pleasant. The office itself was very clean and upscale. I went to get a oral consult they removed 4 teeth on the spot! I called 5 different places prior to them without any luck. I will return.

I have been going to Amara Dental for the last year and always have a good experience.The wait time is minimal, the people are friendly and their care is excellent. Whether its regular cleaning or tooth repair, they are resolving it for me, with the least amount of discomfort.

I was a new patient but was treated like a long time patient. Dr. explained all proceedures to me in a language I could understand. I am definitely going to be a long time patient.

Everyone was especially friendly and professional. I had one of the later appointments for the day, unfortunately the dentist left for the night without seeing me. I met with the hygienist but needed to reschedule to be Seen by the dentist.
