I hate parking at atrium. The parking lot is very narrow and sometimes when you request to park in the oversized Handicap section they wont let you even though you have an oversized car with a handicap placard. Its hit and miss with the people at the parking deck gate if they will let you in.. several times I had to park at the very top just to get a parking spot with enough space to get my daughter out. If planning to park your own car, plan enough time to park your car.I take my daughter here for her procedures and emergencies. I do like presby but my daughter is so complicated that Levines is place to take her. They currently only all both parents to come in with their kid. The waiting area for procedures is on the 5th floor. It has a kids waiting area with an air hockey table in it. For any time of surgeries and procures you typically go to the 5th floor. We been here a few times since covid and there place isnt crowded at all.Now if you are getting an MRI you will go to the 3rd floor to the childrens Diagnostic Center. We were the only family in there. When we left the 3rd floor to go to the 5th, there was only one family in the the diagnostic center. The waiting area on the 5th floor only has two families there. My daughter was even given a stuff animal. She chose a lama this time.I wish doctors would discuss results with patterns in a separate room instead of the waiting room. I think they do ask the parents if its OK to discuss everything there though. The waiting area, you first check in at the front desk and they will keep you updated on your child. If you get a number, you can follow your child on the screen to see whats going on. If you have lots of things with you, like we do the front desk will watch your items while you go to the cafeteria for food or just to go to the restroom. To get to the cafeteria you go to the 3rd floor. You will have to scan your badge to get the double doors to open. I find that the badges can be finicky and if it doesnt work sometimes. Just push the button by the door for them to open the doors for you. More than likely you will have to do the same thing to head back. The last time I checked the cafeteria, it seemed to be at an odd hr where everything was closed. I would suggest to ask the front desk to see whats open. Theres a panera bread on the adult side of the hospital. My daughter has been going here for the past 9 yrs and shes about to be we 10. I really enjoy the PICU and the nurses on the progressive care floor. My daughter always ends up on the progressive care floor. I find that you should speak up if you are every uncomfortable in taking your child home already. If you feel that the team of doctors are not listening, you can actually request another team to check your child out. There are some great respiratory therapist and there are some that arent so great. Most nurses are great but there are some that are there for just the money. You can typically tell. Its been a few years since my daughter has been admitted, so things could be a little different since covid happen.Overall, I would recommend Levines childrens hospitalI find the emergency department if 50/50 chance to get someone good. I find that I get better help when I call my daughters specialist to go ahead and admit her. That way I dont have any trouble for the ED doctors trying to send me home. Again my daughters last emergency was a few years ago, so things could be different since covid happen and when atrium took over.

We were so blessed with the team of doctors and nurses that helped our 4 month old daughter heal from her open heart surgery. The surgeon was amazing, we prayed that we would find the right surgeon and i have no doubt that Dr. Paul Kirshbom was the right one. Everyone was so loving and caring with her. I will forever be grateful to this hospital and the team that took care of my baby. I do want to give special thanks to 3 nurses that went above and beyond to make sure our baby was comfortable and rested. Claire from ICU, Jamie Lee and Mercedes from Progressive care, they were amazing.

We went in with our 4yo son via ambulance. From the nurses, to the doctor, to the techs they were all AMAZING! Dr. Meera Shah & med student Valentina B. are ones to remember. Always showing empathy and being so comforting in their discussions with us about our sons care. The nurses were awesome. All around have no complaints. The bathroom in the room did have quite a bit of mold on the bottom borders, but we still bathed there so not terrible. Ive seen worse. Food was good and economical. They had a playroom. We were there 2-3 days inpatient and honestly have no complaints at all. Nothing I can say they could improve on. So happy with the experience.

I don’t even do reviews. My son is 20mo. his temperature was 102.7 when i arrived and 30 minutes later it was 103.3. They knew this. they took his temperature. Not a care in the world from one nurse! they take their sweet time. 103 degrees for a 1 year old is dangerous but i guess they aren’t aware. waited over 3 hours. please don’t waste your time at this place. edit: they finally called us back and the room they put us in has a previous patients blood on the counter. a used banana bag. disgusting. don’t come here. don’t bring your child here. 06/16/2021

They charged $2400 for a visit to the ER with no explanation. When we called, they said it is their flat ER fee. Why isnt this mentioned anywhere? And, what an outrageous amount? To make matters worse, we spent 5 hrs in the lobby before they could get us in. This was another waste of time because the doctors could not diagnose the issue and basically left us in the room to figure things out on our own - we finally decided to leave because we didnt feel like they were capable to treat our son. To our surprise, we received this enormous bill for extremely mediocre service. Its a robbery! Calling their billing and customer service lines was also a waste of time. If Levine truly values feedback and cares for patients, someone should reach out to us for our story rather than asking to call a call center where employees arent trained or empowered to handle such matters.

My daughter is currently in the ER experiencing severe symptoms and has not been seen by a doctor. It has been nearly two hours. This hospital is trash! We have only ever been to CHOP in Philadelphia and this hospital does not come anywhere close to as good. At CHOP’s ER my child was seen within 15 minutes of arriving and was admitted into a room within another 10 minutes. Atrium, on the other hand, will have you waiting hours to speak to a doctor. I’m highly disappointed in the service and lack of care my daughter is getting. At this rate, I could have flown to Philadelphia and been seen by a doctor at CHOP already.

My son was sent to Levine Children’s ED by Steel Creek Urgent Care. When we arrived, I wasn’t too thrilled with the security guard that saw us walk into the door and said nothing to us. I didn’t know if we should wait to proceed through the metal detector or just walk through. After standing there confused for a minute I decided to walk through. As soon as I did she finally put her phone down and advise me to step back and place my purse on the counter. She told me to step through and then proceeded to dig through my purse and then just leave it on the counter and tell my son to walk through. After we went through she just walked back to her post and proceeded to get back on her phone. That set a bad vibe for me but whatever. She must’ve just not liked me or maybe hated she was interrupted from her phone because I didn’t see her treat the other families that way. Anyhow we waited a bit to be checked in but after that everything was superb. The staff in ED was attentive, empathetic and caring with my family. I was impressed that everyone smiled that I came in contact with and treated my son with dignity and respect. They were sooooo busy and yet they handled themselves like real professionals. He ended up having to stay over night; the anesthesiologist and surgeon were fantastic. The head nurse on floor 5 (Trista) was amazing!!! She made sure we had everything we needed, checked on us constantly, answered all our questions, and I felt like we mattered which I think a lot of people feel like is what is lacking in the medical world. NOT HERE! We mattered! Dougie- great! Karis- great!!! I had three surgeons come in to make sure I knew what was about to happen- THREE!!! Then two surgeons come afterwards to provide me detailed information. I wish I could remember every single persons name we came in contact with but I cannot. But I will say- I AM THRILLED we came here. I felt comfortable and knew my son was in great hands! Thanks Levine Children’s ED!!! Keep up the great work! Just to add, we had a follow up with Dr Kim Faro and she was fantastic!! She spent time exposing aftercare, checking our son over following his procedure, and I felt like we weren’t just a patient and she sincerely cared about my son and us as a family. Outstanding work Dr Faro!!

My son received treatment here and was well taken care of. As any parent knows, if your baby develops a life threatening illness then your whole world is turned upside down and you have to drop everything. Levine Children’s Hospital not only took care of my son, they also took care of me as I experienced many sleepless nights with my angel during this trying time.I always looked at children’s hospitals from a distance and saw the signs in the grocery store and wondered if they really did all they said they do, well I can tell you from first hand experience that they do. I am a single mom of four and could have never afforded the treatment my son requires but they treated him with cutting edge technology and I did not receive a bill for his care.I just want to say thank you to all the kind medical professionals here and thank you to all who contribute. In addition to the excellent care the patient receives they also have fun activities for the siblings and family who visit. My son was to young for the Ryan Seacrest recording studio but it sounded amazing. We also received blankets and booked from a local church.

This ED experience was the worst. Without ever telling them I was a nurse. They gave my 5 yr old daughter Zofran when she arrived at the ED she threw it up instantly in triage. She was hunched over in pain and they never tested her ran labs. It took them several hours to even start an IV and that was by my request. The Dr came in and gave her goldfish crackers and a bottle of water after witnessing her vomit a couple of times. I was completely taken backShe presented a fever also right before discharge and she was released to go home with no answers and they prescribed her Zofran tablets for a 5 yr old. 13 hours later she is still vomiting still had a fever and lethargic and I am taking her to Novant which is where I should have taken her to begin with. Please do yourself a favor and seek an alternative. You’ll be glad you did. Oh and just to add with vomiting several times over the course of a few hours and a little tongue that looked like sandpaper the MD advised me that she wasn’t particularly concerned about dehydration Bc she didn’t have diarrhea. My discharge papers also listed a condition that she didn’t even have and that she didn’t even present to the ER for. This is very concerning

My daughter has been a patient of Levine Childrens Hospital sinceshe was 14 months old, she is now 18. My daughter is special needs, and is in a wheelchair and totally dependent on us. We need when she turned 18 there would be changes, but at one of her last visits we were assured by the pediatric team that she could stay on the pediatric side until she was 21. That all changed this last visit, and the way we and her were treated by the ER staff and the adult team was just unexceptable. They actually expected us to leave our special needs child alone at the hospital, who has never been alone there, or doesnt even sleep alone in her room at home. That is one of the rules on the adult side is no one can spend the night with patients. Biggest reason we have for not leaving her is several years ago she was over dosed by doctor and pharmacist error that caused her to be on life support. She has been given the wrong medicine, almost given someone elses medicine. She does have a lot of meds to keep up with but that is no excuse. To this day every single visit there is always an issue with her meds, whether its wrong in the system, time is wrong, etc. We blame the pharmacy mainly for this, and some nurse and dr errors, but for the most part the drs are wonderful and nurses too, thats why we continue to come, but us giving her the meds, or at least being in the room when she gets them is a must. Its never been a problem until now. So needless to say this is not gonna stop with this, we plan to contact who ever we need to and try to get this changed. What about patients like my daughter that their parents or grandparents cant stay, how many times have they been given the wrong meds. I would gladly appreciate any feedback or support if anyone has any.

Let me start by saying that 3 months ago my 9 year old daughter was very sick with what we all thought was pneumonia with a pleural effusion. We soon found out that it was not pneumonia, but instead cancer. We have since spent many of our days and nights at this hospital both inpatient and outpatient. We have stayed on both the 10th floor and 11th floor and she has had multiple surgeries as well as scans. Everywhere we have been in this hospital, we have encountered amazing staff that are always kind and compassionate. Everyone has truly treated us so well, the doctors, nurses, technicians, surgeons, food and nutrition, front desk and even the cleaning staff. Of course every once in a while I am sure someone may be having a bad day or be in a bad mood, but I don’t ever see it. Every time someone comes in to see my daughter they always ask what they can do for us or if they can get us anything. Though she has a lot of side effects from chemotherapy, they do all they can to keep her comfortable. Thank you all for working so hard to save my little girls life.

We spent the whole day here because my 3 year old has bacterial pneumonia and they were ruling out other things which I truly appreciate. We had a great day minus being here for 8 hours. Unfortunately, the one star is for nurses standing in front of our door before we were discharged and talking about us. Yes, I should have had my daughter wear her mask every time you came in the door. But saying you felt exposed is a little extreme. Our first doctor said x rays did not show damage from covid. And when he came in everytime afterwards, he did not have on his respirator mask. Which told me, her test would come back negative WHICH IT DID. Trusting his and the second doctor, lead me not to have on her mask for the rest of our 6 hour stay. She had it on before this conclusion. You nurses have two masks on. Shields on your glasses. And I am sure you have dealt with patients who have worse symptoms. As for mentioning that I said my sister is a critical care nurse and I should know better and you wanted to know who she is. She has more compassion and dignity in the tip of her finger than the nurses I dealt with here combined. What bugs me is that I tried to be extra nice to you all because I have respect for nurses. I regret that TB test for my daughter after hearing you witches talk about stuff I told you today. The one and only time my daughter cried today I WONDER WHY. And here I thought you all did great and I mentioned the great work when asked who should be recognized today. HA! I am disgusted by these nurses. We did have a nurse earlier in the day that was good. Afternoon into the evening we met the rude ones. The nurses are the reason for this review because nurses hold the units together. The doctors and x ray/CT techs we met were great. Staff were polite in the halls.Word of mouth 🤷

After my child was out of icu from chapel hill we were moved to Levines rehabilitation hospital. I of course went with him because we were just in a horrible car accident which left him paralyzed. We brought food In order for us to cook but were told that we were not allowed to use the stove without a nurse there. When we asked the nurse we were told no. They only supplied food at very specific times and he had many physical and occupational therapy appointments. We would come back to the room and the food would be there ice cold. I didnt have any money because we had been in the hospital for a month and a half already and of course I was not working. They obviously do not care about the parents loved ones that stay there with them. Also some not all of the nurses were extremely loud and rude. They would come into the room in the middle of the night every 2 hours like they are supposed to but instead of letting my child and I try to get some sleep they would talk at normal voice levels with each other. One nurse in particular would come into the room to change the trash can and would shake the bag so loud every night i eventually started putting the trash can outside of the room to avoid having to have a confrontation. I had to tell her and another nurse to leave and i would do his catheters in the middle of the night because of how loudly they would talk.

They took very good care of our newborn, explained everything with detail and made us feel confident and positive about the recovery. Other staff like cleaning personnel, technicians, etc were great too.The facilities are wonderful and truly make a difference for patients, in this case kids. They have art all over the place, vibrant colors and design, playrooms, lounge rooms, gardens, snack rooms, etc.The only negative on the facilities is that its hard to navigate through the hospital, which is a maze. Seems they are trying really hard and are quite successful in achieving their motto - Uncompromising excellence. Commitment to care.

On 6-18-16 my son Anthony was in a near death drowning while swimming at a friends house at a party and ended up with major and permanent injurys due to that event and not to mention 3 days to coming home a doctor from Charlotte ear nose and throat caused my son to die and had to be brought back to life due to him not informing anyone he was in his room and took out my sons trek and couldnt get it back in properly so he coded for 12 minutes while in Levine children hospital and no one took any responsibility the hospital the doctors company no one all we got was a sorry it happened and a lawyer said we have no case and thats that. I have been trying to deal with these changes for over 3 years and still seems like it happened yesterday. My son Anthony needs around the clock care cant talk has a trek and eats through a g tube and is confined to a wheel chair cause he cant walk or stand and has major brain damage and injury from that day and also have other issues. I have been trying to make it all work since the day this all happened and its hard i cant get no help since im 100% service connected total and permanently disabled and its also hard due to having 4 other children and a wife to support and i also live in a rental house that dose not allow my son to be part of the family as much as he should due to the lack of space and ability to use his wheel chair and the house is not set up for his needs but we do what we can and his nurse helps also since he has in home nurse care due to his injuries. Everyday i see people complaining about small things how about walk in my shoes my son was taken from me and now i have to try and figure it all out and make sure him and my family are taken care of since i cant get no hep to buy a home as needed fro him and us and every company we use for his needs tell us either no or it takes a long time to get things for him and its frustrating. i lost my job making 15 anf hour when this happened and i am always try to play catch up on bills and catch up on rent thats behind since for almost a year we were living at hospitals and trying to take care of our house while he was in rehab surgeries and other medical situations and not to mention he is due to have major back surgery this month to correct his spine and keep from pushing on his lungs. So the struggle is real and he will never have a life of his own and will always live with us due to his injuries and he will never be more then 10 mentally. well thats enough for today just wanted to vent a little and get a little off my chest.,

I was a patient at the hospital for a little short of five whole weeks, and my experience was nothing but wonderful. I stayed on the 10th floor which had the most wonderful nurses staffed that I’m going to remember for the rest of my life. Everyone was wonderful to me, I met nine dogs, saw a baby, and my life got back on track. As an older child patient (17), I was treated as my age and not as if I was much younger because of where I was. I was listened to, understood, and there was no issue of me being proactive in my own care and helping with it if I wanted to. I was practically treated like an adult, and was never uncomfortable with how I was spoken to. My CHIPS teams were wonderful and also left a mark on me. I’ve been out nearly two months now and I can say with certainty instead of pretending it never happened sometimes I miss it a little bit. I miss the volunteers, and the nurses, and my weird, do whatever it wants bed (lol). I was cared for well, treated immensely well, and did not leave the hospital thinking I’d come back as a patient any time soon. The only thing I disliked was when one of my favorite night nurses was gone for about two weeks, and when I couldn’t have my phone for a bit. A well-deserved vacation, but I missed her nonetheless. I highly recommend this hospital, although my experience was obviously limited to the staff of one floor + some very sweet phys/occ therapists, I’m sure the rest of the floors are like that.

Waited for over six hours to be seen before having to leave (after being informed it could be another 2-4 hours wait time to be seen). The nurses, techs, volunteers, and other staff were all (mostly all) friendly and interacted very well with my 4 year old while we were there a week previously. Communication and timing were seriously lacking the entirety of both visits (in the ER and while we were admitted).

Levine Childrens Hospital is amazing. In the ER I saw so many different doctors and nurses and each of them were all so kind and took the greatest care of me. The ER was so busy but anytime I needed anything I would just put a button and the nurse would be right in to help me. After the doctors figured out what the problem was the doctors admitted me to the hospital for me to have surgery in the morning. Up in my room on the 10th floor, which is the coolest floor of the hospital in my opinion, the nurses there were the best. The nurses would come and talk with my mom and I while they did all the test they needed and gave me the medications I needed which was nice, It made us feel more comfortable and less stressed about what was going on. My night nurse even told us a story about when she embarrassed herself in front of Greg Olsen when he came and visited the kids in the hospital. The nurses even dressed up in different costumes each day which was cool because it was more comforting to see the nurses not looking like robots in uniform scrubs. Also, I like how along with my doctor there was different residents who were working with him which I thought was cool because they got to learn on me so that later on they can go help other people with similar problems as what I had. In the end, LCH is the best hospital I have ever been to; the staff are amazing, the facility is beautiful, and the care is first class.

And when I called to ask about this discrepancy the doctor changed the visit from inpatient to observation . I thought the doctor made the change to help with the billing but it sounds like I will be charged more instead!

Arrived at Levine Childrens Emergency Room at about 6:30pm with 11 month old (had been sent there by doctors at an Urgent Care center). Initially Levine ER staff said it would be approximately 30 minutes to see a doctor. However, every 30 - 45 minutes, they came out and told us that it was going to take longer to see the doctor. This went on for over four hours. I understand triage protocol, but this was insane. At about midnight, was finally taken back, only to be put on a cot in the hallway. Sat there for almost another two hours before a doctor actually saw us. Was after 2:00am before we were released. Worst care and consideration Ive ever witnessed at an ER facilty; Im on the north side of sixty, so Ive seen a few. The staff at Levine ER should be ashamed of themselves.

Nurses are great in the EAST NICUCrystal, Lessli, Becky I love them !!The only thing that upset me is the receptionist name Patty that sit at the desk in the intensive care unit on nights. She has poor customer service skills and is very Rude to each family as that come in. Its already hard enough that families will be here for months and have to deal with someone that is rude . Patty told my husband that he could not see our daughter because he didnt have her bracelet. He had his badge that said parent but not her bracelet. After talking to the charge nurse all he had to do is show his license and could go right back ! So disappointed that she didnt even ask for his license. He left upset after been at work all day and couldnt see our baby. I hope in the future she gets moved after watching her disrespect another family tonight I clearly see its not just us she does it to everybody. Other than that I love my baby nurses they treat us with respect and keep us updated even giving us a phone call.

Not sure where to begin. 5 month old son has been suffering breathing since 6 weeks old. For the past 3 days we have been scheduled for procedures and surgery. The lack of communication by surgeons and staff had been unbelievable. We were told not to allow our son the eat past 8pm the night before and we were scheduled for pre op at 930 am. We arrive at 9am to make sure we were prepared. After checking with the receptionist desk at 1130am they stated that a crib was in route and we would go back no later than 15 mins. At 1 pm we were finally taken back with no explanation of the delay. After sitting in a room with 2 office chairs at 4pm the surgeon came in to tell us that he had cancelled my sons procedure.(After 20 hrs of consuming no food, they stated they didnt have TIME to do the scheduled procedure.) And that was it. No apologies, no compensation for time, and frankly no respect what so ever. I am currently waiting to speak with admin and if given the opportunity, my family will search elsewhere for assistance. Unless it is an emergency I would not recommend coming to Levines childrens hospital! And if its an emergency you will need fervent prayer. The admin needs a serious wake up call in staff communication! STAY AWAY!

I was very displeased with this emergency room, I went today (5.22.18) to take my daughter. She had an accident and her front tooth receded into her gum. I went in around 3p.m and was triaged. We waited for 4 hours seeing other patients being called back. I understand it goes by how urgent the matter is, but her tooth is receded into her gum by this time the blood has clotted. We ended up leaving to be seen somewhere else.

Cant say anything about the Doctors or nurses because I waited 5 and half hours to have my 6 month old son seen in the ER and I finally had to leave to take him to another hospital. He had 103.1 fever, they gave him motrin upon arriving and sent us out to the waiting room to wait for a room to open. Rooms did open, but they chose that other situations where more important then ours, which Im sure some of them where, but some where definitely not. Some complained enough that they were seen just to shut them up, and I kept getting moved down the list. When I would ask when I would be seen, they said they couldnt tell me. I will never recommend any one coming here and nor will I ever return. I was in contact with a family who had the flu and also a virus that attacks the heart, even with that said and add that my son had a fever for over 24 hours, that still wasnt important enough to be seen in a timely manner. While leaving, my son started vomiting, wasnt able to calm down, wouldnt nurse, arching his back. Instead of the staff stopping me to get him medical attention, they stopped me to get my insurance information and social security numbers, before giving them out, I asked if I was being put into a room, they told me no, they wanted to get the paperwork started. I refused to sign any paperwork and give any information before being seen, and while my son was going down hill fast, they just wanted to speak about money. So I left, they also wanted me to stop and sign a refusal to be treated form, but I told them no, I wasnt refusing, I wasnt being helped or treated. So no need to sign anything.Worst hospital experience I have EVER had in my life. I also have three kids and NEVER have I had to wait like this.Arrived at 645pm Thursday night, departed at 1215am Friday morning.

Worst place you can ever take your children. My newborn had a spinal tap done on her by a very inexperience doctor while another doctor saw that she was not doing it correctly then he stepped in. The excuse was that my daughter was dehydrated, my daughter was very well hydrated and still is.

Went two nights ago to have my child seen. I feared she may have been dehydrated after having dealt with an unrelenting fever for a few days. She wasnt eating much and wasnt sipping fluids well on her own. She also was asleep 90 % of the day (something I had never observed before).I was not very pleased with the service provided. While I have been there times before for other reasons and have been okay with their service, this particular night was certainly in my top three for one of my worst experiences in an ER period. We arrived around 7:40 pm, and we left around 12:20 am. We didnt go to the back until 11:30pm, and we didnt have a room. We were just placed in the hallway along the wall with a bed and a chair. To top it off, the most that was done for my daughter was that she was given some Tylenol and Motrin, a popsicle, and apple juice. No tests or samples were taken and we were given the its viral and we cant treat it speech.I definitely felt shafted and like it was a waste of our very valuable time. Its part of the reason why I have issues with even going to healthcare providers. Despite this, I still take my kids in when they need to go.It aggravates me when people waste your time like that. Dont get me wrong, Im sure this hospital is stocked and equipped to deal with many medical crises. Regardless, its not the equipment or resources that make a hospital great. In my opinion, its the staff
