Took my son for his first haircut. The stylist was great with him and made him feel very at-ease. Haircut turned out great!

The staff was very friendly and great with kids. I loved how kid friendly the atmosphere was. Obtaining an appointment was very easy, even for same day. I dont think you could go wrong with anyone that works there. We were very impressed with how they handled our sons very first haircut!

Today June 14, 2019. My family had a bad experience. My 3 girls came in today with my husband for a shampoo and ends trim. Which was $18+. So one of my girls still had their braids in and was told they have to take it down but they can’t braid it back up. That is fine, I wasn’t expecting that. I was expecting what was told on the phone that their hair would be trimmed, shampooed and blow dried. Needless to say, my girls now look like poodles . Their hair wasn’t blown out at all. Then when my husband paid, he gave a tip and they laughed at him. I called to apologize And offers to give more but seeing the results, I understand. It seems they are not used to African American hair. My girls said their hair was dried vigorously with a towel, which as a former hairstylist knows that causes friction and split ends. I feel that completely defeated the purpose. I had to work and was trusting the job would be done correctly. Now I have to re-wet, deranged and dry their hair. I sent them to cut down time with my busy schedule. I would not recommend and African American with coily hair to go here. When trained you are taught on all hair types. It’s a kid friendly environment yet my husband was made uncomfortable due to lack of understanding and experience was the first and last. It sucks because I was planning to send my boys there for haircuts so that it will be fun and look great. I would encourage more training on a broader clientele.

Hi, I just had my sons first haircut and it was awesome.....first the place is so cool with the kids playing around with toy cars and having hair cuts in it. I had an appointment and waited for 5 min while my 8 month old baby happily enjoying watching kids play. Carmen was wonderful with my baby and in no time its all done...please have an appointment before u go because its a busy place and u will save lot of time.

Great experience! They really do know how to be patient with kids. My son didn’t want to leave after he was done! He loved it! Look for Susan, she’s amazing !

It’s best to call ahead or make an appointment or on the app. Love the indoor slide and activities for kids while having their haircut. The staff is friendly. Only improvement I’d make is it seems really dark and is sometimes hard to review the hairstyle in the lighting, so I’m not sure how the stylists can do their best work in that lighting.

We went there for the first time today and they did amazing! My son is non verbal and has always had a bad time getting his hair cut. Today he was not happy at the beginning but the lady we had worked with him and was very patient. She also notice he could not talk and she began to use sign language and that made him feel a lot better. His haircut looks great and we will definitely be going there again! Highly recommend.

We came here for our son’s first haircut and were very pleased. We came for his second and had a horrendous experience. The stylist, receipt said Abigail, had a random woman and child in the salon who were just there with her and didn’t seem to be employees. She was slow to come up front and was slow to get us seated where no one else was in the building. She did not cut my sons hair anyway like I asked her to, she took no time to try to make the experience a little bit better ( my son is not even two years old ), and was rather aggressive with cutting his hair when she didn’t need to be. I don’t mind paying the extra money for a haircut if the experience is going to be positive. They have things there that could make for a very positive experience, but Abigail did not seem to put any effort into making it enjoyable. I’m not sure what to say when someone gives that terrible of an experience as you leave the door. I can say that I probably won’t be back there again even though the first haircut by a different stylist was wonderful. If cookie cutters knows what’s best for the business, I would not continue to employ her. If you do attend cookie cutters for a haircut, ask to see who is working before you go there.

I’ve been to this location for the past three years. Unfortunately there is one employee named Miranda it is not up to the standards of the costumers that frequent this West Carmel location. I had made an online booking for 11:45am -Feb 19- and when my son and I arrived, the place was closed ( and they are suppose to be open from 9-7 M-F). My son and I came back at 3:30pm the same day without an appointment. As I was telling Miranda why I was there without an appointment, she immediately questioned my statement implying that I was lying because she said that ‘she was there’. I even showed her the missed called I made earlier when the place was closed. Again, she kept saying the place was open. She even RAISED HER VOICE AT ME because I was giving her “an attitude”.In sum this employee was completely RUDE and lacks costumer service skills. This could have been solved in a very friendly manner and apologizing for the inconvenience.Needless to say I won’t be coming back and it is a shame since I was a loyal costumer.I did contact the main office of this franchise and to express my dissatisfaction and i hope the owner of this location addresses the issue promptly.

Did a great job with my kids! My daughter Hates to have her hair cut. The stylist did a fantastic job with bubbles & toys. Even gave a princess braid for doing such a good job. My daughter asks all time to go back so she can be a princess!

Theyre great with kids haircut. But the building is starting to look dilapidated. It needs a serious cleaning and paint job. If corporate has not been in for a while they need to do so and get this cleaned up otherwise is gonna go down the toilet.

Ive taken my daughter here twice. The first time, she was 20 months old, and sat pretty still in the car while watching Dory. The haircut was rushed, even though she wasnt squirming much. There were obvious chunks of hair that were not cut to match the rest of her hair. So, i took a pair of scissors to it myself to fix it. The second time we went, the hair stylist did a wonderful job!The fun chairs and Netflix movies are worth it for us, even though you might not get the best cut!

We always have decent service at this location. I always book an appt online ahead of time. The kids love coming here. And as long as you explain exactly what haircut you want, theyve always done a good job on my kids.

We always have a positive experience here. Appointments are usually available the day before, walk ins are welcome, and the team is great. Susan is the best-always attentive, friendly, and gives a great haircut!

Weve been taking the kids here for a few years but its not like it was and were done. Walk-ins are not welcome, as the sign on the door would otherwise suggest. This review is written based on our last three trips. The last two we couldnt even get served, and they were not busy. If you dont have an appointment, stylists tend to disappear to the employee only part of the building. One time, an hour before close, we were told they could not fit us in. Absolutely ridiculous. Going elsewhere from now on.

Came in for a babys first haircut experience which is $20+tipIt was explained that this would include a tour for the kid, explanation of the tools, certificate with picture of first haircut and so on. Since it was the first haircut, we figured that would be really cool.What we got was to pick between dilapidated kid seats, a 60 second haircut involving spraying water, straighting the hair and evenly cutting the bangs. Then we were escorted to the front counter where the sign almost taunts you with Bangs Only $5.95 as they charge you $20 for the same thing. We then wait 20 minutes (after a 1 minute haircut) for them to fumble with the computer before telling us the system is acting up and that they will call us to come back and get the certificate and picture.Only a second star because they were nice and curteous.

For my sons first hair cut we chose cookie cutters because they specifically work with kids and babies. Abigail was absolutely wonderful and worked so well with our baby and accommadated to waiting for more family to come in to see his first hair cut. We will be back for sure!

I have two kids that I take to get haircuts - the boy is pretty easy - buzz the sides scissors on top (easy for a hair stylist that is). My daughter though has tough hair to work with. It is fine, straight, and easily tangled. They do well with both kids. My son, although not a complicated cut, comes out looking great. My daughter is the same - comes out looking great. They amaze me with how they can style her hair as well.It is a place with cars for the kids to sit in. They can watch TV to keep them still. And the parents are allowed to come back as they like to watch or answer questions.They take walk ins, but you can (and I do) make an appointment. I always call to make an appointment, but there is an online way of doing it. The issue with the online is that you cant book for two kids at the same time and you cannot book the day of.There is also the option of getting a Dad Cut. They have a regular stylist chair (no car) that they will use to give Dad a Haircut. I have not done this, but I may later.If I could change one thing, I would have them ask the parents about tv programming at the check in vs asking the kids what they want to watch.Standard pricing is $13.95 / cut. I usually can find coupon to take it down to $11.95.

The ladies really did an amazing job on my sons hair and took extra time with my daughter. It was great.

Felt that the time spent for the money was not worth the time or cut provided. I normally take my son to a barber shop and pay $10 and he is in the chair for 10 times longer. The stylist asked what i wanted and i said to clean up his hair. She asked if I wanted the top touched and i said your the professional do what you feel is needed. She cleaned up the back and that was it. My daughter was next and i asked the desk to keep her with the same girl and she did not pass that info to the next stylist so i had to ask her. She said sure and seems very short tempered the entire time. I advised that my daughter has major wiggle issues and that didnt matter to her. Got frustrated with her because she was looking throught the clips and they began to move around the basket and said that if they fall they cant be used. Very disappointed and will never go back nor recommend. Many more little issues but not worth any more of my time

Pretty decent. I should give 4 stars for children under the age of 5 who would likely appreciate the small childrens accommodations and visual entertainment most in this age range.

I wish i could give 0 stars.. Even though located at prime spot, the place is not busy and the hair stylists are not courteous and are very rude. I hope the owners take a note and hire good people who are courteous and friendly towards kids. I will never go back to that place and will make sure none of my friends go there as well. Im going to tweet about this particular cookie cutter location and stylist.

We had a bad experience. The people are not professional and they are terrible at their job. Firstly I chose this place since its particularly for the kids and I wanted to give a great cut and styling for my kids rather going to great clips .I was so disappointed that they just took 5 mins to complete the haircut which looked as if she did nothing. Inspite of making it clear that kids hair need to be cut atleast 1 inch she just did some trimming here and there and it looked awful. It is not worth to make a trip to this place if youre looking for a good haircut. Any mom can do a better job than these people. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone .

My son had his first haircut here 5 years ago and we have been coming here ever since. The whole staff is nice but we love Abigail.

Mediocre haircuts at slightly higher than deserved prices. But sometimes its worth not having to sweep hair off the porch, or if its too hot or cold outside. Otherwise, cut their own hair.

So I walk in at 3:30 today (Sunday). Not 1 person waiting nor in a chair. 1 mother paying for her kid. Both employees have a really bad look on the face because someone came in. I ask for a haircut and they say it will be a 30 minute wait. So either they are racist or they dont want to do any work. Either way dont go here on a Sunday because it wont work out.

The lady who cut my granddaughters hair was rude and obviously doesnt like kids. Why would you be in this business then? I left the room to go to the bathroom and when I came out she was done. There was no hair on the floor and I asked if she had cut it? I went to the counter and she walked off and left my child sitting in the chair. Didnt even tell me she was finished, just walked away and started doing something else. I will never go back!

Esther did a phenomenal job with my son, who traditionally is horrified of haircuts.we have also had negative experiences here in the past, but it is clear that the new people are a significant improvement.Great price, great experience, We wil be back.

Kind of unsure about this place. In the past we have gone to the one on the north side in Carmel but we took our neighbors little boy to the get his haircut there cause it was on our way home. Not the customer service I expected. When the cutter was doing the boys hair, she didnt ask the father if he liked the cut, she just said Im Done. She also did not even dust the extra hair off of the child. Her matter with the child even seemed rude.I like the concept of Cookie Cutters but we dont plan on going back to this location and I would recommend the Carmel location over this one.

They know what they are doing, regarding children, plus they did a excellent haircut for my grandson...

Nice place for parents to take their children for haircut.

Sign on door states walk ins and appointments. We walked in and no one was waiting or in a chair. Was told that they are booked and that we could not get a hair cut today. I looked around and saw no one and two employees and said “your booked”? Why decline business when no one is there and you have two employees available. I declined to make an appointment as my scheduled is not that wide open to adjust to their needs.

Had a great experience here! My 21 m/o hates getting his hair cut, but the stylist was super patient and managed to get him to calm down. And, of course, his hair looks great.*Update: Going from 5 to 3 stars. Ive had 2 wonderful stylists, but recently had one who didnt make the haircut kid friendly (e.g., whipped out hairdryer with no warning, startling my toddler; rushed through haircut and got it uneven). Also talked about colleagues and texted on the job. Would only go back if I know a particular stylist I like is on duty.

Two out of six times Ive been there, I was treated as if I was interrupting their day. They do a good job at cutting my childs hair.
