The staff was friendly, kind, and very helpful when I called as well as when I arrived. They didn’t rush me or make me feel like I was asking stupid questions. It was relaxing and a good experience. Dr. Poss took the time to explain lots of details. I am glad I choose them over the other options.

I went to Dr. Poss in 2018 for sleep apnea, he created an appliance for my mouth that has me sleeping more sound and all night. Where as I was waking up every hour by stopping breathing before seeing him. I highly recommend him for all your sleep apnea needs especially if you cant breathe with your CPAP. There is such a thing as an intolerance to your CPAP.

Do not WASTE your money going here for TMJ. He charges $450 up front and did not show me Xrays, refused to let me pick up my Xrays to see someone else and did NOTHING for me. If your TMJ TMD is not related to night teeth grinding then you are giving him$450 for NOTHING.

I definitely recommend this office if you are wondering if you have sleep apnea and are looking for help to sleep better. Being overweight can really impact your sleep, even if you don’t think of yourself as having weight related health conditions. Since I started my with my treatment, I have noticed a definite improvement in my sleep and my spouse says my snoring has all but stopped. The staff are always kind and helpful. The cost of the treatment was more than your average trip to a dentist/doctor (in my experience) and is the only downside of seeking this treatment (not this office). But insurance helped and I was able to look at financial options that worked for our budget.

The staff at Dr. Poss office are the best! When I came I was not sure what to expect but I knew I had to do something different than use the cpap. I just couldnt use it and I knew I needed to for my sleep apnea. Well, I came and they explained how the oral sleep appliance worked and I decided to do it. Let me tell you it is amazing! Dr Poss literally is the BEST sleep apnea doctor out there! I came to him when I felt there was “no hope” for me. I was not able to use any type of CPAP machine (I tried many!) His oral appliance saved my life. If I travel and forget to bring my appliance I am miserable in the morning- believe me you will not want to be without it! I wish I had been to see Dr Poss much sooner for my sleep apnea. I was referred to Dr Poss by my regular dentist. I’ve had a couple of dental devices for my sleep apnea over the years and had trouble adjusting to the most recent one. With my history of serious sleep problems, including insomnia, I’ve seen a number of sleep specialists in Middle Tennessee—MDs as well as dentists—and learned a good bit about treatment methodologies. It was *immediately* clear at my first appointment this morning that Dr Poss and his staff (shout out to Amber) are *deeply* knowledgeable about sleep apnea—far more than other dentists who simply sell sleep apnea devices as a side gig of sorts—and committed to a comprehensive approach to treating it dentally. Dr Poss advised me about potential non-surgical solutions to assist with nasal breathing, and his ability to access a very wide array of different dental devices is unmatched in my experience. He also went the extra mile by fixing—even if just temporarily—my very old broken device in the hope of helping me sleep better as I await the new device he ordered for me.I’m extremely pleased.Sleep is vital, as you know if you, like me, are deprived of it. I have learned my lesson. If you need dental treatment for your sleep apnea, go see a SPECIALIST in the field! I would give Sleep Apnea and TMJ Solutions 10 stars if I could. This place was amazing. From the moment I called to inquire about what insurance they accepted to the moment I received my sleep appliance, they were nothing but professional, efficient and expedient. I’d been using a CPAP for a year and was not getting the rest I needed (I’m a side sleeper and the mask would release its suction when I’d roll over). Having said that, I called several companies to inquire into a dental appliance that would help me to finally get the sleep I needed. I contacted Dr. Poss’s office the beginning of December. They worked tirelessly and expediently for/with me to ensure I’d receive my appliance by the end of the year, as I’d already met my deductible for the year and there’d be no out of pocket expense on my part. Success! I received a temporary appliance first. It was very bulky and unattractive (but so is the mask, right?) But it did its job until my permanent appliance came in. Bingo! Perfect! No one can tell you’re wearing it unless you try to talk with it in your mouth. But talking is overrated anyway and you don’t talk when you’re sleeping, right? Or maybe you do? LOL Anyway, all that to say Dr. Poss and his staff are amazing and my new sleep appliance was a great way to end 2020 and bring in a new year! If you’re having reservations, don’t! Totally worth it!

I was told I stopped breathing in my sleep and was immediately scared to death! I knew something was wrong with me because i am fatigued, and have been irritable for the past few years... but I thought nothing of it until I was told this! I was referred to Dr. Poss and I’m very pleased that I was. He is so nice and thorough! I took a sleep study home and had my results that next Monday. Dr. Poss and his team are a lifesaver! I had issues with my jaw when I was younger but it randomly flared up again this year and after months of pain and tenderness and clicking/popping I finally completely locked my jaw. My dentist referred me to Dr. Poss and I’m so glad she did! We found out I don’t have sleep apnea but we were able to still determine my jaw had some issues (likely from childhood accidents) and find a solution with a custom sleep appliance, which has changed my life. I no longer wake up with tenderness or pain and the clicking has stopped so I can enjoy eating again. They do great follow up and work quickly to find solutions, even when you’re like me and have to reschedule and forget to call back etc. I would also like to give Amber, one of the clinical specialists, a shout out. I have been a patient of Dr Poss for several years for Sleep Apnea. He and his staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. I hadn’t been in for a while and recently needed to have my mouthpiece readjusted something I should have done sooner. Everyone was very helpful and concerned for me as to whether everything was adjusted as it should be. They spent the time to make sure I knew how to adjust my mouthpiece correctly and to make sure all symptoms I had been experiencing (that made me come back in in the first place) were all addressed and taken care of. Great place and great staff..I highly recommend them.

From the moment you call, everyone in the office is incredibly friendly and helpful! Fitting for the device is state of the art and painless. After my first night wearing the device, my wife woke up early when I get up for work and let me know for the first time in years she didnt wear earplugs because of my snoring. For the first time in years, my wife reports no snoring and I am sleeping through the night without waking up and feeling refreshed in the morning. I wish I had contacted them sooner!

If youre having issues with snoring I highly recommend Dr Poss and his team. I already used a mouth guard for my TMJ issues so it was a natural transition for me to use the sleep appliance which also helps with me clenching my jaws at night. The fitting of the appliance was painless and fast. I went from waking up multiple times a night to once a night within a months time. I feel more rested than I have in years and so does my husband!

Dr. Poss and his staff are great! I had been to several physicians prior who couldn’t get me any relief and the first time I came in, he had a plan for me. In just a couple months, I’ve experienced so much relief and he is very easy to get in touch with should anything come up. His Patient Care Coordinator, Amanda, is great as well! Really helped out with TMJ caused by grinding for 20+ years at an affordable price. The only thing that has helped and is even covered by most insurance. Staff is professional and the service is generally very quick so you can get what you need and move on with your life.

From waking up six to seven times a night to once. What an improvement. Sleep is deep and restful. Wake up knowing I have actually had a good nights sleep. Practical Sleep Solutions is a five star office. I came with my snoring issue to be resolved not realizing I also had sleep issues.The snoring began about 15 years ago but the volume had increased over the last 2-3 years. It had become a common complaint every morning from my husband. If i sat down and napped, my kids would often video me for proof and of course, laughter. :)For my situation, the appliance has been a marvelous fix. It is non invasive and has given me better sleep and more complete rest. I drank a lot of coffee in the mornings to get going, and about 1 pm I was on the hunt for another caffeine fix. I still have my morning coffee, but i now feel awesome at 1 pm. After about 6 weeks of rest, I began exercising again. I use to love this but just could not keep up the pace.The staff at Dr.Posss office have a great way of making you feel welcome and appreciated as clients. Appointments as easy to make and they are great with friendly reminders. The staff worked with me to adjust the appliance to make my situation a complete success.So I am a satisfied customer, my husband is a satisfied customer, and my kids are looking for someone else to video. :)

I had begun snoring terribly after returning from my deployment, I was not sleeping well and had multiple conversations with my doctors at the VA. Those docs only offered a C-PAP machine, I knew I would not use that so I continued to suffer. My wife learned about the services of Dr. Poss through a friend. We contacted the office, they were so helpful and patient in guiding me through the process. I had issues with the testing device but we made it through!! The device has changed my life for the GREAT! I am able to sleep through the night and I feel rested again when I get up. Ive recommended the services to friends and will continue to do so. Also, if anyone from the military is reading this, the VA/DOD need to get on board with this option. Because its like a retainer, its easy to travel with and is silent! When I was diagnosed with sleep apnea I was relieved to have a diagnosis for my symptoms, but I was discouraged that a CPAP machine seemed to be the only option to get help. I kept avoiding the calls to try out machines because I wanted other options. A neighbor told me about Dr. Poss and how his mouthpieces had helped her, so I got an appointment. He was able to show me how my apnea is due to the genetic construction of my airway (so I was able to pass this along to other family members) and I was shown several options for mouthpieces. My husband said I stopped snoring on the very first night I wore it and he hasn’t heard me since! It took about 3-4 nights to get used to wearing it, but now I sleep through the night with no issues. I am so thankful my neighbor told me about Dr. Poss! And his office staff is truly some of the most helpful and friendly I have ever dealt with in a doctor’s office. Amanda was able to answer a lot of questions over the phone and she helped me take care of insurance. It has been a great experience all around.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea several years ago and could not get used to using the c-pap. I came to Dr. Posss office to get a mouth piece. It works great. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Poss is great too.

Amazing staff, Doctor & facility. If you are looking for an oral appliance to treat sleep apnea look no further! Not only does Dr. Poss’s office use state of the art 3D modeling , but they are also one of the few, if not the only, office in the Nashville area that can and more importantly WILL file your claim with your medical insurance ahead of time. When you get your molds and 3D imaging done you will have already been approved by your medical insurance and know exactly what your out of pocket costs are.

In August 2014 I made the best decision I could have made after being diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I tried the C-Pap and decided it wasnt for me - in fact I decided I would just have to die in my sleep! Then I heard Phil Valentine talk about his experience with Dr. Poss and I knew I had to make an appointment and see if the mouth piece appliance would work for me. The ease in making the appointment, the friendly staff and the professional way Dr. Poss explained everything to me showed me I had to try this method. I have worn my appliance every night since then. I just purchased a new version and after only one week of wearing it, it was worth the money and time I have spent. I am 79 years old and feel if I get this much better sleep I can only say Thank you, Dr. Poss and your friendly, helpful staff for making my experience at your office exceptional.

I had snored for years and thought it was normal. It wasn’t until I had a sleep study that I found out the snoring was actually sleep apnea. She would tell me that I would hold my breath and snore throughout the night. I never really experienced a lot of the side effects of sleep apnea but I became concerned with all of the potential dangers of untreated sleep apnea. I bought one of those mail-order mouth pieces that you run under hot water and bite down on for a custom fit. I continued snoring and holding my breath but this time I had a cheap ill-fitting piece of plastic in my mouth. I heard the advertisement on 99.7 FM for Dr. Poss on the Phil Valentine show. The process was simple, the device works great, Dr. Poss and his staff are very professional, and most importantly my wifes snoring problem has been fixed! Do your wife a favor and visit Dr. Poss. I was experiencing headaches, tiredness, ear pain and fatigue. I had a sleep study in April. I showed a mild case of sleep apnea. I knew I could not sleep with noise or a machine on my face, so my doctor referred me to Dr. Poss office. I was fitted for a mouth guard, I have been using the device for the last 3-4 months and my symptoms have decreased dramatically. My Insurance would not cover the cost of this treatment, but I had to try this option because I knew I could not go the traditional apnea machine. However Dr. Poss office arranged for a convenient payment plan. This is worth looking into if conventional treatment is not for you.

I had tried CPAP for over a year without a lot of success. The dental appliance from Dr. Poss has resulted in much better sleep and no snoring without the hassle of CPAP. Definitely a much better solution.

If you are looking for an alternative to a CPAP machine, for whatever the reason may be, you should definitely give Dr. Poss office a call. I heard about his office on a talk radio station and thought, this has to be too good to be true. I have always had sleep issues for as long as I can remember, and kinda learned to just deal with it even though I knew it was horrible for my health. Once I heard about a device that doesnt make noise, wouldnt cause me to itch (allergy to latex), and for lack of better words, wasnt embarrassing, I thought it was definitely worth a free consultation. I called the office and was greeted on the other end of the phone by Amanda. She was very informative and made me an appointment to meet Dr. Poss within a couple of weeks. She explained to me that this device isnt for everyone and if I wasnt a candidate that I would be told before any money was spent. When I arrived at the office I had very little wait time. I spoke with Dr Poss about the benefits of the device and the problems I had experienced in the past. After about 30 minutes I found out that I was a candidate and I decided immediately to move forward with it. Better yet, I found out that this could be paid for under my medical insurance. So, even more reason to move forward.So, fast forward to a couple month later, after getting the pre approval from my insurance, coming in for a visit for my digital impressions (which by the way is so much better than the dreaded dental impression you used to have to do) and couple of weeks waiting for them to make my appliance, it was the time of truth. I went in to get my appliance. I was ecstatic to see how this would work and so was my sleeping partner... lol.Night one, no snoring! No grinding teeth! Woke up feeling refreshed! I have now had my appliance for 2 weeks. I went in for an appointment for follow up and had a few adjustments done today because it was a little tight in one area and hurting my gums, but they fixed it and now it fits amazing.Thank you to Dr. Poss and your wonderful staff for everything. You have changed my life!

Dr.Poss was initially treating me for TMJ related issues when he recommended a sleep study to determine if sleep apnea was playing a role in my TMJ issues. Much to my surprise I had sleep apnea and started on a oral sleep appliance. I had no idea I wasn’t getting quality sleep until I started oral appliance therapy! My quality of sleep has drastically improved and I feel so much better throughout my day!! Added bonus is that my TMJ issues have resolved as well!
