Staff is always super sweet and welcoming! You can sometimes go to doctor appointments whether it be general physician or eye doctor or wherever and the staff doesn’t always seem to love their job so they aren’t welcoming and quite short in response to you- but never this place- I’ve been a patient for three years. Dr. Ballard’s office is one of the most beautiful and efficient eye care facilities I’ve ever been too! The staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. Everyone is quick to strike a conversation and you can tell it must be a great place to work. Dr Ballard himself is very thorough and kind. The staff was well trained in safety and cleaning protocols to protect from Covid-19 and you could barely notice a difference in the wait time. I was able to get in and out with a trial pair of contacts in about 20 minutes. Anyone who is looking for a quiet trip to the eye doctor without the fuss should look into Ballard Vision Associates!

Probably the best experience I’ve had during an eye exam. Setting up an appointment was very easy, I was able to set one online. Checking in was smooth they let you do it on an iPad. The office was very clean. Dr Ballard and his staff were very patient, and very knowledgeable. I will definitely keep coming here for my yearly eye exam.

Doctor Ballard was great, very friendly and professional. He really seemed to care.The place was clean and I really appreciated the fact the the pen and the counter were disinfected after each patient checking in.Unfortunately after my visit, I saw the optometrist who tried to make me purchase the most expansive set of glasses. I was interested in a solar pair. She included the polarized coating which I did not want. So I told her that I preferred to go with the regular sun glasses coating and she said « well sun glasses have to be polarized ». So I told her that I did not want them polarized, I knew they were of a better comfort in the sun but I wanted the regular lenses for a cost reason. Then she realized that I knew what I was talking about and said « oh, you just want the tinted » well yes, that’s what I have been telling since the beginning. And no, sun glasses do not have to be polarized, it is just an extra you can get for more money.I am thinking about those people who are not aware of the different coatings and who are told that the most expensive one is the only one they can get while it is really not.She did the same thing with the anti-glare on my regular pair quote.Quoted me the most expensive one first without showing me the different options. Only when I asked her if I could get anything else, she said there was a cheaper one but that really seemed to bother her.I value transparency and honesty and for that reason, I will not go back here even if Dr Ballard was great with me.Also, I am supposed to have a $10 copay on my eye exam but at check out, I had to pay an additional $25 because they have me do an exam using a new machine that is never covered by the insurance. I wish they had told me that prior to the exam so I could agree or not whether I would like to have this test or not.

I called ahead the lady on phone was short. I decided to go in since they were the only vision place that offered kids glasses. Parking was a nightmare it was not easy to find and the young lady sent to help me didn’t want to be there. I asked for a print out to review options with my husband and she reluctantly scribbled a few lines on a paper that didn’t sum up what we talked about. I would not send anyone I respected to this location I would tell them they would get better service from someone online. For three hundred dollars there options were limited although they stated the glasses could be made in the back on-site the attitude of workers in there very unfriendly unprofessional I asked to use the bathroom and it seemed like I was going to get locked in cause they were pressed to go. Very appalled and quite frankly disgusted at service as a secret shopper I would highly recommend Vanderbilt optical where people treat you with respect value your time want your business and are interested in building a rapport that could last for years.

Going for my annual eye exam is going to visit old friends. Dr. Ballard has been my eye doctor for more than 18 years. Ive known Sherree and Sara since they came to the practice, and they are excellent at what they do. (Im still working on converting Sara to be a Preds fan!) BVA keeps up with current technology to provide the best exam and take the best care of your vision.

Dr. Ballard is very professional and friendly. He will work hard to find you the correct prescription and contact lens that fits best for you. His office uses advanced technology to scan the eyes and look for disease pathologies including glaucoma and even diabetes. The office is always clean. My only complaint from my most recent visit is that I waited an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see Dr. Ballard

I can sit here all day and go down the list of positive things about the Dr and his Staff and not have any negatives to include. My entire experience was great. I called to make an appointment with the expectation that there wouldnt be any available appointments that day. The young lady on the phone was able to squeeze me in later that afternoon and also made sure I had everything I needed before coming into the office. When I arrived at the office, all three of the young ladies behind the front desk greeted me and one lady checked me in and had me fill out some paper work while I waited for my appointment. The waiting area was peaceful; nice and clean with several reading options. Right as I finished the paperwork, another young lady took me into a room and had me go through a series of tests and then had me wait in another room for the doctor. I never waited any longer than a few minutes. When the doctor came in the room, he was friendly and made some small talk before he examined my sight. The doctor gave a concise and understandable diagnosis of my eyes and made some great recommendations and provided some options for me to consider in the future. He walked me to the front and had me talk with one of the young ladies behind the counter. She walked me over to the area where the glasses were and we looked at several options for glasses. Once we narrowed down our selection she asked for the opinion of some of her co-workers. Once I chose a pair of glasses, she worked with my insurance to give me a really great deal and had me wait just a few more minutes while she filled the prescription and grabbed the frames. While she was doing this, another young lady offered to ring me up for my glasses. The young lady came back with my glasses and adjusted them for me to fit my comfort. Provided me with a receipt and some best practices for taking good care of glasses. On my way out everyone stopped their conversations and wished me a fond farewell. This was my first visit to an optometrist in a couple of years and my first visit to one in Nashville. I was very pleased with the kindness of the staff members and the knowledge of the doctor. They work really well as a team to the make the experience great for each patient. This was my first visit there, but all of the staff picked up on my name quickly and made my experience very personal. This shook off a great deal of the nerves that I came in with. If youre looking for an optometrist in this area of Nashville, stop in and talk with the people at Ballard Vision Associates. Youll be glad you did.

Great team. Everyone is friendly in explaining options and price. Dr. Ballard is great at explain optic scans , eye changes and other factors involved in prescription choices. The blonde girl I worked with ( name escapes me sorry!) was great at helping me choose frame and lens options!

An amazing experience. Went to another place to get my lens prescription but they did not have the frames that I wanted and sent me to Ballard Vision. Cindy helped me to find exactly what I wanted and then offered to FedEx it to me in Virginia where I was working. Told her that my favorite frames were broken at the nose piece and Cindy looked at them and said she could get them fixed AFTER 4 other places told me no way to fix them. Ballard Vision is a great place and the staff could not be more caring and genuinely helpful.

For my first visit with Dr. Ballard, I called the office to get an appointment to get new contacts and to exam my irritated right eye. I was given a time slot for 30 minutes later, which I really appreciated. The office staff was friendly, and I only had to wait as long as it took me to fill out new patient forms.Dr. Ballard and his assistant immediately put me at ease during the exam and explained clearly what was going on with my eye issue, and gave me some drops to take care of it and instructions going forward.I had a follow-up visit a few days later to get a contact lens exam and had the same great experience. I left very impressed with Dr. Ballard and his staff, and I am very happy that I am under their care. I highly recommend Dr. Ballard to anyone.

Ballard Vision was fantastic. They have extended hours midweek for flexible scheduling. They really seem to know their patients and the staff was incredibly helpful. I was able to schedule an appointment same day, the doctor was very kind and thorough and when i was having trouble picking out a new frame, the employee wrote down all 7 pairs i was interested in so i could come back with a friend for review. Even though i was there 20min before closing and went back and forth between the same frames 20 times, they never stopped being pleasant or helpful and actually ended up picking out an 8th frame for me that i hadnt even looked at at first that ended up being the pair i bought!
