Had a top notch experience here in the pediatric emergency room. Our daughter had a laceration on her head and had to get stitches. Monica the PA stitched up the wound with incredible care and skill. It looks great! Great job all around by everyone.

The Google map is outdated. There is an entirely new entrance off Charles St that is not shown. Go to the GBMC website and get the cartoon map provided. Not great but better than nothing.Overall, the place seems pretty bureaucratic. Less than 24 hours before my procedure I still didnt know my check-in time. I will update this later. If not ...

This is the worst Emergency Room hospital Ive ever experienced. The nurses are condescending and do not have the patients best interest at heart. In particular, the charge nurse, Melissa, is extremely rigid. When a 90-year old patient is in their care, they should know that the family has much knowledge about the medical background, care, and need of that patient. When caring for a 90-year old patient whose command of the English language is not perfect, they should rely on care instructions and information from the family. In this case, they would not even let any of the family members in to ensure the patient understood the questions being asked. I absolutely do NOT recommend this hospital. There are plenty of other hospitals you can choose from.

Absolute worst experience for Emergency Departments in the Baltimore area. Staff tried to gaslight me in their responses on why they discharged me. I do think they made a mistake and were trying to cover it up. Also, facility was the dirtiest I’ve been at. For breakfast, they gave me something they called “oatmeal” and there wasn’t an oat in sight. I recommend Hopkins or St. Joseph’s, and honestly, I’d try anything else over the GBMC ED.

January 29, 2020 was just a bad experience for me in the ER which told me never to come back. It was very cold outside Security Lost my coat never took the initiative to look for it they mis place my book bag. And I came there to seek help the psychiatrist was playing mind games and very rude was very uncomfortable. I went to another ER got treated in a very positive matter and getting the help I need. Grateful Blessing. GBMC I will never come back

If I could give my experience here zero stars I would. There was absolutely no urgency in this emergency room. I took my father here last week when he was doubled over in excruciating pain, dry heaving, and breaking a sweat to the point his shirt was soaked. Seems like an emergency, right? The front desk RN (Donna) was disgustingly rude and not empathetic at all. She was in no hurry to get the patients the care they needed. I was a bit teary as I am twenty years old trying to take care of this situation and because I was showing my emotion, Donna told me, “I think you need to wait outside”. I would never leave my father in a situation like this. After she took his vitals, she wheeled him into a corner facing the side of a vending machine. Only when he started dry heaving in the emergency room did they raised his priority. I am absolutely appalled by our experience in the ER.

I came with a swelling next to my eye. I didnt know what it was and was afraid that it was temporal arteritis which can lead to a permanent vision loss. I very much regret coming there. After a few blood tests a doctor said that it wasnt temporal arteritis but he didnt know what it was so he cant give me any treatment or advice. I was dismissed with ibuprofen.I was billed $1400 for a few blood tests and no diagnosis or treatment because Dr. Frankel chose to bill my case as a high severity visit, which is reserved for severe cases involving complex medical decisions. He dismissed me without any advice because he didnt know what it was but used billing code 99284 as if he was saving my life.GBMC billed me for low, moderate, and high severity visits separately, all for the same visit. Their billing dept is a joke, they arent interested in fixing any errors.I was also billed for EKG which I never received.I also have a permanent scar from a nurse drawing my blood (never thought it possible). She chose to insert an IV drip to draw blood, even though no IV was needed, and she blew my vein, then went for another hand. She somehow managed to make the experience the most painful blood drawing Ive ever had. Now I have a permanent scar that looks like a blister on one wrist, and a much bigger scar on another wrist where she blew the vein. Its been many weeks and they dont heal.I absolutely regret going there. I got no help, a bill for the services I never received like EKG and high severity visit, and two scars on my wrists for something as simple as drawing blood, which seemed a very complicated task for the ER nurse. Never again.

AVOID dr rana sherwany. GOOGLE HER. YOU WILL NOT FIND 1 POSOTIVE REVIEW OF HER. She tests for 1 thing and if its not that she sends you home. If she exausted all tests and she still cant get you diagnosed that would be ok. This doctor has without a doubt prolonged the pain and suffering of countless people. Now if you are lucky and shes not your doctor then this place is the best. Newly remolded entry. Very clean. Ms. Karen ans Ms. Melinda are great. Very nice. Very professional. Couldent have asked for a better staff expierence. The 5 stars are for them and the othet staff. Dr sherwany needs to be repramanded.

I only wish there was an option for no stars! It has taken me a very long time to write a review, but I will never forget on June 9, 2016 how I was treated at GBMC’s ER. The moment I got there- From the check in staff at the front desk to the Drs and nurses in the ER, I was humiliated, laughed at, made to wait over 3 hrs, and sadly, no one helped me at all with what I came in for. It would have been better for them to have told me to PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU. I only remember the name of the nurse who was immature and had no idea how to help me. Thank goodness there are many more places out there that provide excellent service with nurturing, compassionate, understanding providers and if you or someone you love is experiencing a medical emergency, consider somewhere else besides GBMC!

On March 2, 2019, I took my 14 year old daughter to the emergency room at GBMC. She had a huge hematoma in a very difficult place. Without telling too much information she was seen immediately by the triage nurse on duty after 7:30 pm. Then she had an approximate wait of 1.5 hours to be seen by a doctor. After being there all night with lots of doctors, nurses, and a specialist coming in only to be sent home around 9:00 am Sunday. A nurse said she can get dressed. As myself and husband helped her out of bed, she fainted. I told the nurse that. She asked were her eyes opened or closed when she fainted?? Seriously??? She can still go home. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN GBMC ER, They made a huge mistake!! I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DAUGHTER THERE AGAIN. Dr. Newstadt was the attending on her case but did not see her himself. It is my heartfelt feeling that if Dr. Michael Santiago was the attending on her case there most definitely would have been a different outcome. My daughter was admitted to St. Josephs Hospital, had surgery and continues to make significant progress.

Worst ER experience Ive ever had. The waiting room was empty and I watched 5 people come in after me who were called as I waited for over an hour. None of these came in doubled over, crying, bleeding, or with limbs dangling. I on the other hand had a head injury and found out after I unregistered myself that it was put into the system as a headache. Not to mention, when I asked about the wait I was given such attitude. Ive been to ERs all over the city and have never experienced such horrible treatment.

I went to the emergency room here for mental health issues and had an overall miserable experience. I understand the stresses that are put upon the emergency department on a daily basis, but I waited 8 hours in the emergency room waiting room before I was given a bed. At that point, I waited an additional 3 days before I was transfered to Harbor Hospital for further treatment. Upon being discharged from GBMC and arriving at Harbor Hospital, I discovered that GBMC had lost my shoes (size 13 Nikes that are pretty hard to misplace and also cost $130) and I had no backups to wear. If it had not been for Harbor Hospital looking through their lost and found and miraculously finding a pair of size 13 shoes for me, I would have been without shoes in March in 30 degree weather. I later called the hospital and asked them to look again for the shoes, and they found them (thank goodness) but this required my mother to drive 2 hours out of her way to go there and pick them up because they were unwilling to ship them to me at their expense. Aside from that, the hospital staff was somewhat well trained, but highly understaffed. I was placed in a hallway bed for a day and a half whichis exactly what it sounds like... A recliner in the main hallway of the ER.If you have any other choice for a medical emergency, I would recommend going anywhere else.

I had to bring my 2 week old infant to Gbmc Emergency room on Sunday, we waited about 6 hours in waiting room to be called in. After I complain to staff they told me they only have 5 beds in pediatrics! Seriously!!!!! This place is a joke shut it down and don’t waste people’s time if you don’t have bed or staff. Very disappointing
