This was my first experience with Fran Coy and will be my last. I was referred to this salon for a wig while I was receiving chemo. I went for a consultation with Arielle and the consultation was helpful and went well. I was told that my partial wig would be in in about a week and would receive a call.A month went by and I had heard nothing (I was not in a hurry to get the wig because I still had plenty of hair at the time of my consultation). I called after a month and told them I had not heard anything from Arielle. The person on the phone told me that Arielle was not working that day and would look into it. I received a call shortly after letting me know that wigs were on backorder and that Arielle was advised to call the company for an update and that she would be sure to keep me updated.I did not hear anything for two more weeks so I called again. I called on a Monday and the person who answered the phone apologized for the inconvenience and advised that they would be in contact with Arielle (she had been quarantining for two weeks) and would get back to me. That Friday, I still had not heard anything so I called and advised that I was extremely disappointed in the whole process (as if I did not have enough going on in my life dealing with cancer) and that I no longer needed the wig. The person on the phone apologized again and promised to find out what was going on with my wig. I received a call later that day advising that their wigs were still on backorder, but they will receive them on Tuesday and I should expect a call then.It is now the following Thursday and I have yet to be given an update on my wig.Even though my hair is extremely thin now, I am fortunate enough to still have enough hair to get by without a wig. However, I understand the stress and emotions you feel while going through something like chemo and to have this additional frustration and stress has caused me to never consider going to Fran Coy for any future appointments. I am completely understanding to the fact that their wigs are on backorder and that is not their fault. However, they continue to not give me any kind of update or status (even when promised to each time) until I call to complain. So disappointed in this salon.

Loved my hair service with Jill Mock!Me: Caucasian Mom that just turned 40. Brown thick wavy hair that is starting to show some grays. I always get long layers to take weight out of my hair. Style simply using revlon air brush and parting to side, pinning the middle, or putting up in a bun. Newer to coloring services but expecting to be a regular now that I’m in my 40’s. I’ve lived all over the place including San Francisco, CA and Scottsdale, CA so I have definitely had to try out different stylists in my lifetime. We recently moved to Ann Arbor so here I am looking for someone new yet again.What I wanted:I used a natural instincts wash out color about 6 weeks ago but my hair just feels very dark these days. Looking to start covering the roots and adding some light and life to my hair. For the cut, I just needed a trim and shape this time around.Jill was fantastic! I felt comfortable with her right away. She asked good questions about my hair and what I was looking for and talked me through what she was going to do. She did a root color along with some foils and I was there for 2hrs including the cut and dry. I enjoyed the whole experience and love how the look turned out. It feels like my hair but better! I will definitely continue to use Jill for my cut and coloring as she is experienced, thoughtful, and takes pride in her work.

My wife came in two weeks ago before our wedding to get a facial, a mani/pedi, and eyelash extensions. It was a nightmare. They were too busy and overbooked so they split her appointments in multiple days, that would have been fine if the services she received would have been good but everything except the facial was subpar at best.The eyelash extensions she received looked awful and 4 lashes fell out the same day she received it. Now, almost all of them are gone and she’s been trying to do everything she can to make them last. They look awful. A lady from the front desk came in during her extension appointment to rush it along and double booked the clinician with a mother-daughter appointment, so it wasn’t her fault. I felt so bad for my wife, her eyelashes looked nothing like what she asked for or wanted. It is extremely unprofessional to overbook clinician and then to rush them with a client still in the chair. She wanted to go back the same day to get better lash extensions since the wedding was 3 days away, but they were overbooked and no one would have been available. When the wedding day came, my wife showed the hair stylist what she asked for (lashes) and the cosmetologist was appalled by the job done.Apparently she also asked how long the gel manicure would last and she was told 3 months. It chipped a week later and the edges around the cuticles have no polish.Severely disappointed with Fran Coys. This was for a wedding and my wife had a terrible experience. I would not recommend.

This is a beautiful salon, with a highly trained and professional staff. My hair stylist has exceptional skill and I am glad to see the salon nurture and support her skill. I have been using Fran Coys services for the past 7 years.

My hair is curly & thin but the beautician I see is an expert hair stylist and can give me exactly what I need. Twenty-one years ago she helped me pick out a wig when I lost my hair to chemo. Very professional and made me feel VERY comfortable, love this place.

After getting a nice haircut a few months ago, I decided to give their mani/pedi a try before an up coming wedding, but I definitely wish I hadnt now.The color selection left a lot to be desired, so Im not even particularly happy with what I had to pick, but that was the easiest thing to overlook. My nail tech was 10+ minutes late for the appointment, and I was the first appointment of the day. I was also quoted 90 minutes for gel nails, but it took 2 and a half hours.When I finally got home and looked more closely at my nails, almost every single nail is missing paint along the edges. For that amount of time, I could have painted all of my nails twice and I wouldnt have missed spots. She also cut my cuticles too short, so I was bleeding.Im not sure why I just spent $100 for this. I would almost rather just take it all off, because every time I look at it I just get more disappointed. Im not sure if Ill return even for the haircut services.

I have been to Fran Coy Salon for a variety of services over the years and regularly get my hair cut and colored there. I was very impressed with their COVID protocols. The staff is well trained and friendly. Their spa area is lovely and peaceful. I highly recommend Fran Coy Salon!

I have been getting my hair styled by Jill Mock at Fran Coy’s for many years. I got my mother to switch to Jill, my sister, and my daughter too.We love Jill’s recommendations and have had been comfortable with discussing our hair. She gets that we want great hair and fabulous color with minimal effort. She has a really good eye for color.I love it when strangers say “ you have such pretty hair”. Do yourself a favor and try Jill.

Made an appointment for a pedicure with gel polish because the spa was highly recommended by a friend. I got there and it took two different technicians over one hour to remove my old gel polish and then another hour to finish the pedicure. The quality of the pedicure was subpar.. not one of my toenails are straight and the polish looks like a 5 year old painted them. Not going back or recommending to others. So disappointing.

I see Jill at Fran Coys and she seems to know what I need/want even when I dont. She listens to me and helps me to find the best hair style. My teenage son loves Jill and wont let anyone else touch his hair. Highly recommend seeing her.

Devon did my hair it was a stacked Bob and she gave me exactly what I was looking for! She was very professional and my hair looks fabulous! The Salon is very reasonable priced. This was my first appointment at Fran Coys and my stylist, Alex, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the products we discussed, she did a great job with the balayage I had done, and how to maintain and keep my hair healthy afterwards. Ive often done balayage with other salons and I was very happy with her work. Everyone at the salon was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the whole experience. Alex went above and beyond and I will certainly be returning in the future.

Jill Mock is a wonderful stylist! She transformed my “Covid “ hair into fabulous, low maintenance glamour hair! By adding a gloss to my tired locks and doing an easy upkeep trim, I now look and feel cute on every zoom! I’m also so impressed that even my next day hair was as amazing as the day I had it styled. The salon was so relaxing and peaceful. It was a much needed break. The safety protocols in place were better than anywhere I’ve seen.

They did a good job. It would be nice if it were be curled. I should have spoken up.

Lilly was my stylist and she exceeded my expectations! She gave me a choppy/textured bob which I love. I totally would recommend her to anyone! She cut/styled my hair exactly how I communicated and envisioned. She was amiable and professional. They ensured everyone wore masks, I did a virtual covid-19 check in, as well as getting my temp taken when I walked in, and they had me wash my hands as well. They also had little signs on every chair that said it had been sanitized. Very thorough and fun atmosphere.

I have been going to Fran Coys for a couple years now, however this was my first time returning to Fran Coys since the pandemic began.I saw Anna for a shellac manicure and my nails look phenomenal. I cant recommend her services enough! I am working from home and dont have any events coming up so I didnt need to get my nails done, but taking time for some self-care, felt really good.The process for check-in/screening was organized and thorough. The salon was clean, specifically in the nail area they now have glass panels that hang between you and your tech. Im thankful for Anna and the Fran Coys team for taking measures to put our safety first.

Ive been here multiple times and it is a very nice place to get a haircut. My haircuts are pretty simple so it is usually very quick because everyone that Ive had seems to know what theyre doing. Its definitely more than a chain hair cut place but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

I made the move to Fran Coys a couple years ago, and have never regretted it. My stylist is fantastic, giving me the best cuts I have ever had. I was recently at the salon for my first cut in months (due to COVID-19 restrictions). There procedures to keep customers and staff safe were excellent. I felt very comfortable.

I had my first hair appointment today since the COVID-19 lock down. I must say I was very impressed with the safety precautions put in place at the salon. I can tell that the staff is concerned for the welfare of their clients and that the management must be concerned with the safety of their staff as well. From the temperature taking, to the wearing of masks to the notes that items had been previously sanitized, I appreciated the attention to detail. This attention to detail was, of course, consistent in the hair services I received-a root touch up and trim. My hair looks (and feels) fabulous! Jill Mock has been my stylist for a little over a year now and I couldnt be more pleased!

This was my first visit after COVID 19 lock down. Staff was nice and very helpful. They made me feel safe and welcome. Amber was amazing. I wanted to try new haircut from long hair to short hair. She was very excited and gave me some pointers. I truly enjoyed my visit and I all ready made my return visit appointment.

I was really impressed with how Fran Coys managed the whole process, from check-in to departure. They were vigilant about providing plenty of space and keeping things super clean and sanitized. I felt very comfortable being there and have no qualms about returning.

The amount of personal contact from the salon throughout the pandemic has been amazing from selling hair dye kits for curbside pickup when everything was closed to calling to check in and make sure I had an appointment once they opened. The salon had great sanitation practices in place when I returned after the closure. There was sanitizer at the entrance along with a symptom sweep which I really appreciated. I felt welcome and safe returning. Thank you to all the staff for the outstanding care you take, especially with the current challenges.

Rose was my stylist and did a great job of taking the time to ask the right questions so I was happy with my cut and color. Holly did a FAN-TASTIC job on my hair -- which was in a very sad state, having waited several months for a cut during the pandemic. She understood my hairstyle desires and handled my kinda funny hair texture very well. She also waxed my brows, they look really nice now! I was quite happy with the distancing and sanitary standards and the little plexiglass barriers they use at wash stations. Go here, ask for holly, enjoy yourself -- it was such a nice de-stress time :)

Carrie gives amazing massages. I’ve received massages from a lot of local places but I really appreciate that Carrie takes the time to ask what you’re looking for and then delivers for the full amount of scheduled time. The staff is friendly and I think their prices are great. Would definitely recommend Carrie for a relaxing experience that will leave you feeling amazing!

Just want to say that I have been going to Jill Mock at Fran Coy;s Salon for hair cut and color for about two years. When I first went there, my hair was long and colored too dark. I took a picture with me to show Jill what I was looking for in style and color. Jill took a lot of time to talk with me and play with my hair examining the texture, etc. I was absolutely thrilled with the cut and highlights she gave me. Jill Mock has been my stylist for many, many years. She is a complete professional and stays current on all the latest trends and techniques. I am very cautious when it comes to my hair. However, with Jill, I have the confidence to allow her the freedom and free reign to try different things I would not normally do such as a color. Two years ago I developed alopecia, which has since gone away, but she worked with my hair to help cover the problem and made me look great! Most recently, she gave me a great new look with a fresh cut, color and new style. She even took the extra time to teach me how to style it correctly at home. I highly recommend Jill as a stylist !

For our wedding party, we booked Fran Coys Salon to provide make-up and hair services to our girls, and we also scheduled massages for several of the guys in our party. Throughout the process, I worked with Kari, our scheduling coordinator through Fran Coys. She was marvelous, reaching out throughout the process and quickly providing any information we needed and answering questions we had. The day of our wedding, all of our wedding party members that received services at the salon had an outstanding experience. Everyone was warm, professional, and above all, accommodating to any of our needs & requests. They provided our party with our own room to hang out in and allowed my sister to provide refreshments on hand to enjoy while getting ready. I would highly recommend Fran Coys to anyone looking for the above-mentioned services for their wedding day preparations. It was a wonderful experience for all of us involved.

I had an appt on 7/13. shortly after reopening.I was met at the door by an associate and she made sure I had a mask. I then was allowed into the front door but not the salon. After I filled out paperwork ( pen enclosed in plastic to assure is was clean) and my temperature was taken.When no other customers were at the front desk I was allowed in to wash my hand and talk to the receptionists thru a glass screen . I was very impressed. I had an appt with Lorre( shes great) again everything had a sign on it that said it was cleaned Lorre wore a mask as did I . It was a very enjoyable experience. I felt that I was safe and that Fran Coy did everything perfect to protect my safety and the safety of the staff. I can see that Fran Coy spent a lot of money to protect everyone while allowing their customers to have services again. thank you Fran Coy

I have been going to Fran Coy’s Salon and Spa for over 25 years and for most of those years Jill Mock has styled my hair. She is amazing: professional, organized, friendly, talented and creative. She gives honest guidance and is creative and skillful. I highly recommend both this salon and Jill.

I have been going to this salon for several years now and just continue to love the place! I recently had a therapeutic massage from Carrie and she was amazing!!! In fact she was so amazing I booked a 90 minute massage for myself over the holidays!! My desk job tends to make my neck and shoulders really tense and knotted up. Carrie found all those knots and got rid of them!!! I cant recommend her highly enough!!!Looking for a pedi or haircut?? Than I cant recommend Holly enough!! I love this girl!!! She is just the sweetest thing and does an excellent job at both. I kind of hate to recommend her because I dont want her to get so busy I cant get appointments!

I inherited Jill Mock when David retired. I liked her right off for her friendliness and openness. She suggested some changes to my hair style that I love. I have never felt that she goes into automatic mode when I see her - she looks at my hair with a critical eye each time and offers suggestions and products that always work. And she is available by text whenever disasters happen. Cant say enough good about Jill!

The first time I went to Fran Coys was about 15 years ago. I met Jill Mock for the first time to have her color and cut my hair. I have had Jill do my hair ever since - shes great! I have been a client at Fran Coy Salon for several years. I started with Jessica, who expertly repaired a very bad color treatment I received at another salon. When she moved out of the area, she transferred me to Alisa and Ive been with her ever since. Alisa is a great stylist and does a wonderful job with my highlights and color touch-ups. My hair is pretty basic in that I wear it long and straight, all one length. She is very understanding about my reluctance to trim too much/too often and never pushes me to cut more than Im comfortable with. On the couple of occasions when Ive needed to be worked in, Alisa has been very accommodating. I have also received other salon services from Rachael; she is wonderful. The front desk staff is always friendly. I recommend Fran Coy Salon to a lot of my friends and Id never consider changing to another salon.
