The place is scary. It is close to a prison. Someone try to open our truck at night. We left right away. We prefer to spend the night at a gas station. Fortunately we found an RV park to spend the night.

AOK is about right. The power, water, sewer, and wifi all work and the price is nice. No frills sites. Note that most of the park is occupied by longer term campers, so only about 4 or so spots are actually available overnight. There is a KOA Campground not far away if AOK is full.

This this place while in a beautiful location, with beautiful trees, has no facilities, nobody cutting the grass, nobody in the office, nobody to complain to about the yapping dog next door thats been barking for two straight hours. This place obviously focuses on monthly renters, her looking for a cheap place to set up their homestead. Only in a last resort should you stay here coming through Amarillo.

AOK is a hidden gem!! Right off I-40, just east of Amarillo but still in the middle of nowhere. Farm fields all around with wildlife grazing right next door. No frills, clean power, GREAT water, convenient utilities, very level gravel sites, wide sites, outstanding wifi, and all this for a Passport America rate of $14/night. There are some long-term residents here, but they are friendly and quiet. There was a bit of road noise from the interstate and some planes taking off right above you (which was pretty cool), but a white noise machine or fan will take care of that. Just drive in, pick an empty spot, go back to the office and put your cash or check in one of the envelopes provided, and you are set!! Why pay $40+ elsewhere in Amarillo when you can stay here for a fraction of the cost.

My kids had a blast giving them apples and carrots. Just beware the long horns they are not friendly.1 of the onsite people ride around multiple times aday on there carts. To me that gave me a sense of security since not gated.Good water pressure.Multiple trash dumpstersConsNo public restroom or laundryWifi is a hit or missSites are not very levelWhen we go there they were treating the water with chemicals. It was a great easy stop. Reading the reviews I was a little nervous to pull in in the dark but it was well lit and so easy. It was not loud to us being close to i40. Honor system I assume and I read the reviews saying no reservations so didn’t call but there was a handful of spots open. We pull a 40ft fifth wheel and a small motorcycle trailer behind and we fit right in the pull through spots with out even un hooking. Definitely will stay again!

Very laid back place. Contact-free check-in and out. You pick a space and place your cash in an envelope by the door and get on with your vacation. We stayed longer than we intended and just paid at our convenience. The donkeys, llamas, longhorns , and emu were pretty cool too. Great sunrises and sunsets. Several long-term RVrs, and all were very friendly. Would definitely stay again. No amenities, other than full hookups and easy to pull through sites.

Its a quiet park. Not fancy by any means. I loved that you can see animals from the RV park. Its a good place to spend the night. The staff was really friendly and made us feel welcomed. Some of the faucets were leaky & broken. Our RV surge protector indicated the 50 amp hook up had fluctuations in power. Overall a great park if you want to see some animals.

Bring ear plugs for I40 traffic noise. Mostly long term campers but some 1 nighters like us. No frills but for Passport America price of $14 w/full hookups its not too bad. Although the long-term unit next us has a black line leak and stinks up the place, we kept windows closed because of noise so its not bad. Can you say... Planes, trains and automobiles + trucks all night long? Tough night....

Review №29

Absolutely no frills. Your unit must be self contained as there are no restroom facilities or laundry. But a great place to just hook up for the night to rest. Will admit, it’s dumpy and sort of weird, as there are no owners or managers around. Just a funny door with instructions and envelopes for honor system payment. All we wanted was a place to hook up (W-E-S) and pull out the next morning. For Passport America $14, this was fine for us. We have paid more for a lot less. Also, run a fan at night to drown out the traffic noise. Location immediately along I-40. If you are not concerned about amenities and just want a place to rest for the night, I recommend staying here. If you want more, best to move along or stay somewhere west in Amarillo.

I liked it, but the WI-FI didnt work much, and my siblings needed a shower(we smelt GROSS) and there is none, the shower in the rv was horrible, and driving 7 hours to get there on our way home was so worth it, though. If you want to stop for the night, there isnt anyone stopping you.

We had mechanical issues and needed a place to stay while we got repairs done. This was the perfect park. Beautifully quiet, large sites, relatively level gravel, full hook-ups, some trees. The only difficulty was that the water, electrical and sewage were so far from each other we had to park just right and pull out extra long hoses. All in all that was just a little inconvenient but our weeklong stay was wonderful and relaxing, which is saying quite a bit when your dealing with repairs! Due to COVID-19 the park was not staffed. We had zero issues as everything worked well. It is also a Passport America park.

It is obvious that this campground has seen better days. However, it delivers what it promises. They claim to specialize in overnight sites for the weary traveler. When I arrived, I found no management on site. There is a cash or check drop box where the office is located. Just fill out the envelop and drop it in the box. If you need to use debit or credit card, you must go to the convenience store across the street. It is owned by the same people. (It closes at 8 p.m.) Pick out a site and park where you want. My site was level and the utilities worked as they should. I was satisfied with my stay, especially with the $14 Passport America rate. I would stay there again when I travel through.

We have stayed here several times. It looks a bit rough but is generally a safe place to stay. We enjoy the longhorn bull, llama and emu. The place needs some TLC and more gravel in high traffic areas. If it has been raining, be aware that it can get muddy and deeply rutted. During our stay a motorhome had to be towed out of the mud.

I have never been to a campground like this. I haven’t seen anyone that works here. When I called to see if a spot is open they seemed very nice on the phone. He never said anything about not being on site or how to check in. So when we arrived it looked like it was closed. We pull around to find the office and there are locks on all the doors. I start to walk away and notice a black box on one door. I look at it and on the door in black marker it says to put payment in drop box. Like I said I have never been to a place that goes on the honor system so I was a little confused. I called the number back and the guy was a complete jack ass to me. I will not be back again just for the way I was talked too. Plus it feels a little sketchy here with the permanent residence. We paid $14.00 with passport America and that seems to be the only good thing about this place.

This place is 1st come, 1st serve. On honor system in place, pull pay envelope and pay when you leave. We paid $14, PA member rate, for 1 night. We had at least 4 spots available when we arrived on a Saturday. All pull through, so no issues w a 38 ft toyhauler. Plenty of space between neighbors. A few loose dogs, which is a big deal to me as I do not let mine run free. I am giving this place 2 stars bc it is the bare basics with no walking place for pups. Nothing wrong with this site for a quick overnight stay though.

I would suggest you get in before 4:30 if you want a spot as they are first come, first serve and there are only 15 spots. You actually can pay cash by putting it in an envelope and putting it in a mail slot, although theres no clear instructions except a sign for credit cards pay across the street. Free WiFi, Next to I-40 with easy access on and off, Quite, Spots always available, and I-40 Convenient Store Arcoss the Street so you don’t have to run into town for the small stuff, and Custom RV is less than 2 miles away if you need anything to repair your RV.Everyone is correct, there are no frills, no bathrooms or showers (Doesn’t your RV have a Shower and Toliet? If not, don’t stop here- keep driving.😉) and it is not the prettiest RV Park in town. But it is safe, always a Sheriff parked outside of the park every night. I have stayed here for 2 years and never have had any vandalism or seen any drug activities. The Park Model Home at the front of the Park is quite awsome and is currently for sale. If you are a trucker that needs a place to park every night or even a few times a week this would be perfect for you. You can park your truck and trailer across the street at the convenience store and get a good night sleep in a your new tiny home at the RV Park!Management is great and always accommodating. Spots are $315 per month and include everything (water, sewage, electric, and free WiFi). I think the nightly fee is $15 a night if you are passing through.
