This was literally the best doctor appointment I have ever been to. Ive been wearing glasses and going to eye appointments ever since 3rd grade. I went in as a new patient to this office yesterday and was met with some of the kindest people Ive ever met. Everyone was so incredibly sweet and helpful. Not only did they see me for my appointment right away (I didnt have to wait at all) but they were very kind and explained everything and helped me pick out beautiful new frames. Dr. Emmert was so professional and helpful and every staff member I interacted with was the same way. I would highly recommend this office to anyone in the area!

I had a great experience at River View Family Eyecare. Everyone was so kind and professional. The Dr. was very thorough and answered all my questions. The staff helped me find some great glasses and I appreciated their help and input. I also appreciated that they gave me options, but were not pushy about upselling.

Out daughter says she can see better without her glasses, which prescription she got from Riverview! We also experienced very incompetent office staff there. My son went through two pairs of different size glasses, which were recommended, which these staff fitted on him, but continued to be misfit and misshaped, and hurt my sons ears, nose, etc. I assume the staff were not properly trained before put in charge of the office. I dont want to go back because itll just be a waste of time. Well have to

I am in my 60’s and just got glasses that have given me the best vision I’ve had since I got hard contacts in my teens. And I’ve had many different doctors. Dr Emmert, you are the best! Dr. Emmert is the wonderful combination of fun, kind, and caring while maintaining a professional and knowledgeable decorum. Her team is friendly and very helpful. They made picking out my glasses very easy. I dread eye exams but always enjoy my appointments.

We love them!I had a horrible experience at another office with my 3 year old daughter and was recommended here just over a year ago. They got her prescription right the first time, we had excellent service, and they offered a lot of help. They were so patient and kind to her even with her toddler energy and focus. We went back last month for her yearly and got her new prescription and frames, they were ready so fast with no issues! I recommend!

I have seen both Dr. Emmert and Dr. Batey for a few years now and they are absolute gems. Not only do they make sure I feel I am well taken care of, but they are super helpful in educating me about my own eye health. There was so much I didnt know! The staff also helped me pick out frames that I love and get compliments on all the time. My first pair of frames after seeing them is the first time I have willingly and happily worn my glasses more than my contacts. I intentionally go out of my way to keep working with them. Highly recommend.

I went for my yearly checkup in the beginning of July of 2020. When leaving I was charged the full amount. I was in a hurry to rush to work so I decided to call on my way and ask them why I was charged full price because I knew my eye insurance covered yearly checkups. I was informed they did not charge my eye insurance but would do so and refund me my money. Since then I have been given the run around and still no refund. However they did call me about 3 weeks ago requesting I pay the remainder of my balance. I explained to her that I have been waiting on a refund since July and I have been calling to remind them but keep getting the same “oh yeah we will take care of that” answer. Guess what I got when I told her that? Correct, she said “oh we will take care of that and get back to you.” So here I am still waiting. I wouldn’t recommend them because nobody should wait almost 6 months for a refund for a mistake they made.

I enjoy the small town attention to my needs. I never feel like another number being pushed through the machine. Drrs. Baty and Emmert and their staff are personable and genuine. Highly recommend.

I used to recommend this optometrist, but they have changed payment policies. You must now pay upfront, and they promise to send you a reimbursement check after the insurance claim is processed. It has been 35 business days since my daughters appointment, and the insurance company (VSP through Regence BCBS) hasnt even received the claim yet.I am not holding my breath that we will ever see our prepayment returned, but, even if we do, we will not be back.UPDATE 12/3: It turns out they stopped taking VSP altogether and never informed me. They didnt inform me prior to my appointment even though they had contacted me to confirm the appointment. They didnt inform me even after my appointment when they asked me to pay the full price. They did inform me when they saw this review. I received $45 from VSP, so only about 25% of the bill was covered.

It was a wonderful experience meeting with Dr. Emmert. She provided more ideas, suggestions, and testing than Ive had from any other optometrist. Ive never been able to wear glasses due to color shifting and getting dizzy. I also have dry eyes. Every other optomotrist has suggested a different type of lens, which I would purchase, and then new lenses would produce the same result. She provided me with additional testing, spoke to me about staying in contacts, and provided suggestions to maintain healthy eyes that could wear contacts for a long time. These suggestions also included nutritional interventions, which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Dr Emmert, especially if you have unique vision concerns and need a caring specialist.

I’ve worn glasses for decades so have been to my share of eye doctors, but this is by far the best office I’ve ever been to! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I feel confident the care I’m receiving from the doctors is based on up-to-date science. The selection of eyeglasses is also the best in the area. I tell all my friends and family to go there!

My sister was visiting from Florida and I accidentally sat on her glasses. We took it to the experts here at River View Family Eyecare expecting to pay a hefty fee because we have never been there before, didnt purchase the glasses there, and it was very last minute. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. Not only did they have them repaired within 15 minutes (and cheerfully adjusted them to fit more comfortably), but it cost us NOTHING! They didnt charge us!! Not a cent! They just gave us a smile and said have a wonderful day!I plan to return to this business, whether or not they take my insurance, because they have shown me they care about the people who walk through their doors. That they know how to make their patients happy.

Ive seen Dr. Emmert for several years and I have never had such precise prescriptions. She is friendly, knowledgeable and she truly cares about her clients. The clinic is absolutely beautiful inside and she has an amazing stock of glasses! I cant imagine anyone else taking care of my vision needs.

The staff were extremely welcoming and patient with all my children ages 2, 4, 5 and 7. They even had toys and a movie to keep my kids entertained while they were waiting their turn. Dr. Emmert listened intently to my concerns and followed through with an extensive examination. We had an excellent experience! A+

My entire family goes to Riverview for our eye care needs. They’ve always been extremely thorough and patient, even with my rambunctious 4 & 5 year old boys! They have always gone above and beyond, even going as far as to overnight me samples of contacts (multiple times) because I didn’t like my current pair! I recommend them to all of my family and friends!

We have been thrilled with the care at River View Family Eyecare, throughout multiple visits over several years. My 4 girls, my husband, and myself all have had amazing experiences. Im getting ready to book our next appointments as its that time again. Even my youngests experience was great (she was 3 at the time). Dr. Emmert always takes the time to explain everything thats happening and I always leave feeling like I have a clear understanding on whats going on with our eyes and vision. The office staff is also always great!

River View has always been great! Attention to detail and not cutting corners is so important when dealing with something like your eyes. They have helped me from start to finish with my Lasik procedure and keeping my eyes healthy, great office with the best equipment, staff, and location!

My husband and I, along with our two young children, have been seeing Dr. Emmert for several years now. I am continuously impressed by the attentive and knowledgeable staff. They are so patient and wonderful with our kids, too! I love the little touches like activities for the kids and a photo station where they can get their photo taken to commemorate their first visit or going back to school.
